Hi everyone I just had my phone replaced under manufacturing fault. The frame had started cracking about a month ago, it got so bad there where about 15 cracks along volume side and 2-3 around all other edges.
I was told it is a recognized problem!!!!
The build quality of the new one is alot better the gap around the screen is a lot smaller, and there is a nicer feel to all the buttons.
Maybe they have revised the internals because I believe when the phone gets hot the insides expand and cause the cracking along the weld lines of the PC frame

potential heat fractures? haven't been keeping your phones in variable temperatures have you?
I didnt do anything abnormal, which made this crack, I used to play games for an hour everyday, may be playing games would have dissasipated more heat. which lead to crack near the port, some times i have even noticed my charger ports gets heated whiel charging even that could lead to this crack.

In the UK the retailer is generally responsible for the product for the first year. So I'll be contacting Vodafone in the next few days... But I know Samsung will also randomly fix stuff for you as well, so I guess I'll try sending them an email too...

Useless Samsung!...(I wont buy anymore)
I got a reply from Samsung that its damaged done by me and i have to bare the charges for it, Even though i argued its a matter of build quality, they still said you have used for 4 months, and its broken bcos of you, They dont care about what the person says, All they need is money. WTF....even without a songle drop in ground how can it break. Any Samsung users from india is expereincing the same problem as me. (cracked near the charging port). This Samsung india is lying that none of the users from india has complained about this issue. I wanna show them this is not the damage done by me. This will be my last product from Samsung. I won't go for any of their products in future.. Request all to stay away from Samsung Products in future. I feel ashamed i was a samsung fan for past 4 years I have used Wave, S, SII now SIII. They have started to cheat customers...All they need is your money!.

Learning: get an official letter or document from Samsung that clearly states the warranty covered incidents and the reach of it.
Thanks for sharing, maybe a good learning for others as well.

The vendor is at fault multiple posts show no International warranty from Samsung .
The vendor is responsible for any fault problems or repair work .
Samsung's warranty is an extra limited warranty subject to Samsung s terms and conditions .
jje
It;s not applicable in India...the seller duped you
SOrry
Int. Warranty isn't valid in Turkey also. Had a trouble time with the call center operator last week about my green-screen-mark issue..

Just send it in to Samsung Singapore from India. If you don't have an address in Singapore, send it directly to the warranty center in Singapore, then post your return address to the hotel you stayed in previously and have them send it back to you.
Besides, Samsung India may be the worst Samsung repair center in the world. They are notorious for short-changing owners.
My S4 fell down and the screen broke. Since then it won't turn on. Any diagnostic tools or solutions out there?
I know about shops that repair phones!
Call samsung customer services...all samsung products/phones come with a 24 mnth warranty as standard...theyll send you a postage bag to send them the phone in to them..totally free of course. Do not pay an independant repair shop who could possibly damage your handset further...rendering it out of warranty. This is your best bet if you fail to get it working yourself

A broken screen is not covered by warranty if I am not mistaken. And the fact that it died when it fell and the screen broke makes me think that the two things are related?

Nobody can help with this except Samsung.
Yes, broken screen is not covered by warranty, so you will have to pay for that and it's possible it's just that. Screen is not working so you can not see if your phone booted or now.
Go to Samsung support.
You don't have to send it to Samsung. Take/send it to any reputable repair shop. I broke mine a couple of months ago after I only had it for about 3 weeks. I called Verizon to find out if they had it in stock (I was ready to just buy a new one) and they actually told me to go on the internet and look for screen repair places because it would be cheaper than replacing the phone. I found a place in Times Square and I walked it in and 45 minutes later (and $280) I had a working phone again. Haven't had a problem with it since.
Hello everybody
My english is bad because i was lazy and didn't want to learn in school so forgive me
I bought my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge and today i let my phone and the glass is broken. Everything is working but glass on screen is broken. 1 hour ago i read article where is written that samsung service can raplace it for free one time its called samsung guard or something like that. Similar situation was with Galaxy s5. Is it true? I rooted my phone of course and i know that i void warranty but i was reading that there is a chance that service repair something if it is not a problem which root could do. Can you tell me is that even truth that samsung is doing something like that. If its true what do you think? Is there a chance they will repair that without checking, if my phone is rooted?
Sorry for my bad english and thanks for answers
I vaguely recall reading about free replacements in some non-US country, but as US resident I don't have any details.
In the U.S., Samsung sells an insurance plan, but there is a deductible for replacing a broken phone. Not free. What country are you located in? Hopefully someone from that part of the world will know more than I do. Good luck.
Do you even have Samsung Guard insurance? You were supposed to register your phone till August 15th I guess. If you did so I think your phone can get repaired. It depends where you have bought s7 tho. Here in Poland there are some threads about rooted phones that have been successfully repaired but only particular mobile operator - ORANGE. It has to be contained in your warranty papers.

It's doubtful that the basic warranty will cover dropping your phone - You might be able to get some "good will" from the place you bought the phone - I have Carrier Device Protection which covers a wide variety of things - from damage to losing your phone - If you have something similar that would be useful - But I think you need to understand that there are large numbers of people who drop their phones and the manufacturers & retailers can't be expected to fix or replace damaged phones for free ?
