My 8525 does not turn on anymore, changed battery several times, let it under charge 2 days, no sign of life in there....should I trow it away or is there hope? Help please I am LOST without it!!!
Try chargin the phone without the battery for about 20 minutes and then insert the battery to see if it'll sprint to life. If not, try a differen outlet or charger. If all fails, don't throw it away, it's not that useless.
Thanks I trying that now,but I do not see any led turning on...keeping fingers crossed!
Were there any other symptoms before hand? Had you had it hooked up to your comp recently before that? Hard reset? Check how snug it meets the gold contacts. Ive seen situations where they get spaced just enough where it wont make contact. Check battery and contacts for buildup (happens over time. had this SAME heartattack awhile back with mine ) Lemme know if you need more help.

Hello Black Joker
what do you mean by "buildup"?
1Hard resetted a couple of days before (I am a ROMburner junky
2Turned itself out a couple of times before...
3When I do not use it I always keep it in the craddel hooked up with pc...
All I know is that I replaced the micro SD, put it down and when I pick it up 2minutes later it was death...
Now is under charge without battery...will report later...sig...
By buildup I am referring to this black looking stuff on the gold contacts. It happens over time. Another thing you might try is a different battery. Ive seen em on eBay for a few bucks or try a buddies battery if you know someone w a similar phone. If thats not an option some local cellphone store may have one u can try to see if she comes on. If all else fails, PM me. I would be more than happy to see what else I could do.
I did try everything but no way to wake "her" up...I have sento you a PM black-joker...
Its possible there may have been a surge that fried the internal fuse. That would account for it working then suddenly not with no LED response.
Check out Mike Channon's post for a link to his website, you'll find more info there...
Good luck...
Happy New Year to All..just came back...
Backy to my sorrow..could not find any solution jet!...
Hi, guess what, two weeks ago I got a new phone, the famous HTC HD2 (leo). I was so proud, I had read so many good reviews about this phone, and I just loved it. Played with the phone night and day, but then it started. The second weekend I had it. I sent four texts (yeah, I have no friends) I was thinking they arrived but (hence I don't have any friends) I thought they didn't answer. But on friday (05.03.2010), my brother called me, asking me about the text, I did not understand, but it seems like it waited 1 week to send a text message. Then my friend rang, about the same (but with the text i wrote to him of course), I did not know what to do! Also my brother called me like 1 week ago, i slided the most awesome button to the left, to answer the call, and guess what? The cell froze, guess what it did yesterday too? Yeah, it froze again.
Does every hd2 live its own life? Would it help to hard reset it? (even though I can't seem to find the "erase all" key)
I have other problems with the phone aswell, but can't seem to remember what they were.. hmm...
If some one does not understand what I'm trying to say: My cellphone freezes when answering a call, also won't send texts when I tell it to.
Can anyone help a friend out? I don't know where else to turn than a forum.
Is this the best phone or what!
What ROM do you have on the phone now?
Nothing that you have described seems unresolvable in the least bit. You are in the right place to make your HD2 live up to its reputation, and it certainly is not hard to do.
IF you can provide any details about your current ROM, etc. that would be a good place to start helping you.

upgrade to the latest 1.66 rom
Hm, first of all, how do I check what rom I have. Second how do I upgrade it?
1. Settings (on slide bar)>About Phone>Software information
2. Either from HTC direct or from your vendor
Thanks, "please contact your supplier first before upgrading." Aint got time for that.. Hope this will help
So you're not going to check? Are you in the UK?
Seriously, chances are you're on an old ROM and changing to a newer one will work wonders
yeah, i have the old one, anyway, yeah i had the old one... 1,48.. well its 23:59.. cant call them, + do you have any idea how expensive that is!? and yeah prolly just the copilot nav that gets screwed, and i want that to get away from my menu (start menu)

You don't need to waste a cent, or a second of time calling anyone. The won't help you. They'll tell you to reformat your phone, and the problems you described will return.
You came to the right place for help with these issues. Technical support is typically worthless, as usual. Just take some time to read the info provided here, and in just a short time, you'll be happy with your investment.
all the ones on ebay i have emailed no one has bothered to confirm or check that the 3 button recovery mode works.. i will not buy a phone without it.
anyone in canada want to make some extra money and have an upgrade avail. they dont need..
all i want is a i9000m unlocked with 3 button recovery working.. please pm if you have one or can get one for me...
thanks
PM me if you still want to get one
i'll send you the details
i always make sure to test the 3 buttons modes, and the GPS before i check out at the cashier
Background: My brand new Nexus 6 has a problem on the bottom speaker grille where it protrudes about 1mm more on the right side than it is supposed to. I have tried just pushing it back into place but it just keeps going back to this position. I have tried to overlook it as it is such a small issue, but its driving me insane. I decided to get a hold of Moto and see what they can do (before trying to deal with ATT, ugh)
Conversation is as follows:
Suzette: Hi, my name is Suzette. How may I help you?
Me: hey there
Me: I just got a Nexus 6 from ATT last week. For the most part I am loving it BUT
Me: The bottom speaker grille protrudes a little more on the right than the left.
Me: And just like 1-2mm. I have tried to look past it but its driving me nuts!!! And the more I think about it, on a $650 phone I really shouldn't have any manufacturing defects like this.
Me: Just wondering what I need to do to get it fixed/replaced. Or is this something i should go back to the ATT store I got it at for a replacement?
Suzette: I do apologize for that but I'll be more than glad to help you, remember that here at Motorola we love to help our customers.
Suzette: When did you purchase that?
Me: Last week, if you need an exact date I can grab the receipt
Me: 02/15 actually
Suzette: By the way can I have your first and last name, phone number, email address and location? for chat documentation purposes.
Me: ----------, ----------, ---------------------
Me: I am in Bismarck ND
Suzette: Thanks
Suzette: We are going to do some troubleshooting steps since this is a brandnew.
Me: Okay
[Commentary]: At this point I am extremely confused. Are they going to ask me to fix this myself? Will that not void the warranty? Is this a trick? Read on to find out.
Suzette: Do you have the phone right now>
Me: Yes
Suzette: This will remove any temporary files that may be causing the problem, but will not delete your files or settings.
With the phone powered off, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button at the same time until the device turns on.
You will see the word "Start" with an arrow around it.
Press the Volume Down button twice to highlight "Recovery mode"
Press the Power button to restart into Recovery mode.
You'll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark and the words "No command."
While holding down the Power button, press the Volume Up button.
Use the volume buttons to scroll to "wipe cache partition" and press the Power button to select it.
"Reboot system now" will be highlighted, press the Power button to select it.
Me: How is this going to help a manufacturing defect? My problem is that the speaker grille is physically protruding more than it should.
Suzette: Oh I see
Suzette: Have you drop it?
Me: No. It was like this out of the box. It is a manufacturing defect.
Suzette: Oh I see
Suzette: We should need to replace that
Suzette: If you want since you just both it please try to ask if they can still replace it or if not contact us again and replace it to us.

Really?
Regardless of how terrible that conversation went with Motorola, you're well within your 14-30 day "Buyers remorse" time frame with AT&T, they should replace it outright at the store if they have some in stock.
LOL wow! That's pretty crazy.
I dont understand. If you are still within your return window, why wouldnt walk in to an ATT store and simply swap it out for a brand new one? In and out in 20 minutes VS. getting the run around from Motorola, giving them a credit card so they can place a $500 hold on it, waiting a few days to get the replacement (Wont say new because it would likely be a refurb) and having to mail the old one back.
Their online support is absolutely terrible. I had the same experience a week ago. My supplied turbo charger no longer works, and my phone only charges through my computer. One would assume the turbo charger is defective. They put me through the same troubleshooting BS, and the agent I spoke to had terrible reading comprehension. Calling the phone support is the only way to get issues resolved.

Because last time I went to the AT&T store with a phone issue I had to "check in" with the door guy, then sat and waited for an hour and a half with my two year old son, then he started to get bored and flip out and I had to leave. This has been my experience probably the last 5 times I tried to do something with AT&T. They have the slowest in-store service I have ever seen in my life.

I saved all of my chat logs and my phone calls were all recorded. When I presented them all to at&t they extended my buyers remorse period 1 extra week. If a replacement charger doesn't come in by Wednesday this phone will be returned. Incident number 150214-021312 , 150218-015784 , 150215-003297 , 150215-000786. Total number of phone calls to Motorola 5. Number of live chats 11. Number or working chargers 0.

Yeah Motorola customer support is absolute garbage. I've had nothing but trouble any time I've dealt with them.
Phone hold time was unbelievable, I left my phone on speaker while at work. It was over 1.5hrs before I finally hung up. Got on Twitter and then got some resolution. Sent my phone in to get the broken glass repaired. They received it Tuesday and overnighted a brand new phone (sealed retail box) that Friday. So the repair side of the house was chill and I got to keep my original charger etc.
I only needed to chat with Motorola about getting Motocare for a new Nexus 6 that I bought from the original purchaser. When I couldn't produce the exact purchase date, just an approximation (within a week, accuracy-wise) I was told to contact phone support and given that contact info. Instead, I got the purchase details from the original purchaser and went back to Motorola chat Support, which then directed me to a link on their site to apply for the protection plan.
Overall, a positive experience. With the "can't connect to camera" bug hitting me recently, I might need to contact them again if this seems more of a h/w than s/w glitch (i.e., I was able to get camera back by clearing Google Camera data+cache a few times and reinstalling its update).

I have a OnePlus 8 Pro that i need to get in to. The phone is mine on my T-Mobile account, i bought it for my brother on his birthday.
2 days ago he committed suicide. No note No explanation nothing. He was the strongest person we all knew. Never showed any weakness.
Even his wife cant understand it. I need to be able to get into the phone. There has to be something in there that shed some light on WHY???
His wife, daughter and I NEED answers. I have a ton of experience rooting and modding phones but i don't know how to get past a lock screen without wiping the phone.
If anybody can help me out i would be forever grateful. I would even pay if that's necessary. I am in so much pain right now over this.
Please help

Sorry to hear this.
If the phones on Android 11 then theres no twrp so there no way to remove the passcode / pin as far as I'm aware.
Here's a guide explaining how to remove a passcode. However I think with an encrypted phone you won't be able to access files even via twrp.
https://forum-xda--developers-com.c...e-hacking/remove-lockscreen-recovery-t3530008
Data recovery companies may be able to help if it's really needed.
Don't advise them as to what's happened just the phone is yours and your brother was using it, don't tell them how important it is or the price may just go up.

Thank you for this info. I will attempt whatever i can.
I will try this and see if it works. I just received a call from the detective and he said they have a device that could do this for us.
I might go that route since there is nothing illegal that he was doing.
was just hoping to do it today as to get it done sooner.

As it's Android it'll be possible. But difficult without the right kit..
I'd clarify what the detective wants to see on the device and can you be present for the unlock.

As insensitive as this sounds, I am a homicide detective. If he had a fingerprint lock on the phone, you could use his physical fingerprint from his hand prior to burial to unlock the phone. We have used this method several times with success.
Regardless, my condolences to you and yours.

Yeah i was hoping to be able to do just this but since the family members are not very etch savvy, they power cycled the phone off and because of that the first unlock into the system has to be with the numeric password.
I rebuilt his laptop for him a couple months ago so i have the password to get into it. I'm hoping that he saved his email credentials in it. I know that after multiple attempts into android it allows you to change password through the email. This is the last thing i can think to do.
I reached out to OnePlus this morning and the woman who was answering my questions said she had no answers for me. she kept saying i could factory reset it through recovery mode. I already know that, i need the info on it. I'm thinking about reaching out to google also. Who knows they might help since the phone is in my name on my account.

Not yet. I had an appointment to day with the funeral home to get access to his body so we could use his fingerprint but the phone was turned off since his last login.
It now required the numeric password before logging in. I have one shot left that i can think of. If i can gain access to his email i might be able to reset the password that way.
Fingers crossed. It was so hard yesterday going to the funeral home. We all need answers

I saw that. unfortunately i don't have his email credentials for his Find My Device.
Also the sm card was removed my his wife before she gave it back to me unfortunately.
Although it does connect to my Wifi at home... I'm almost to the point of giving up.
I don't think we will ever know why he did what he did.
Thank you to everyone that jumped on this thread. I love this community.
I kinda don't buy the OP story but here is my take:
- Doesn't need a SIM to get/use Find my device working but does require Google account access which is recoverable easily.
- It's trivially easy to recover a Google account with the phone number of the deceased unless the person specifically removed those options and used for instance an authenticator app (of if you don't have the actual SIM or access to that phone number but that would be strange).
- If you cannot recover the account that way, you can still recover it using a legal path by providing the correct inheritance documents to Google (through a lawyer if required) which should pose no issue (again this should pose no issue and while it would take time, it would work).
- Whatsapp cloud backup (on Google drive) is enabled by default and if you're after that, it's probably gonna be trivially easy to restore said backups on any new phone by using the SIM card of the deceased. Unless the person specifically disabled this to prevent this.
You can most likely recover Whatsapp messages without even unlocking the phone. This whole process is actually not hard and requires no tech help and can be done through the legal processes.
Added to all this, I checked your history and saw that you requested help before unlocking a Pixel phone that magically came into your possession before. So it seems you have a pattern of coming into possession of locked phones that makes me very suspicious of your demand.
I'll report this thread and ask a mod to review it.
Sorry. I also have doubts any time I see a story here asking for help unlocking a phone. Always sounds suspicious, and furthermore where are the mods here? Aren't there rules that state no requests for help unlocking phones??
Here is the OPs other post:
" Junior Member11 postsThanks: 2
I have a 64gb Pixel 4 XL that i want to unlock and use on T-Mobile.
The phone was never actually on a Sprint account. It was never technically paid off by a consumer. Its also never been activated on the sprint network to my understanding. (Which are all required to have sprint send an unlock code)
It was given to me by a Sprint store manager when they had to clean out end of year inventory.
I'm trying to figure out if i can unlock it somehow without having to get sprint to send the unlock code.
I don't really want to go through the hassle of explaining to them how i got a hold of it when they look at it in the system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated"
@San Diego The moderators are here and monitoring the thread since it has been created. And these are the XDA Forum Rules to cross-check.
To ask for assistance is not against the rules, and if you read back in the thread quite a few legal possibilities have been given. They obviously didn't delivered the desired result. However, as soon as the discussion or advices deviate towards the obscure side or to paid unlock services this would be removed immediately.
If you check the thread, from which you quoted, you'll see that moderators were acive in it, too.
Stay safe and stay healthy!
