[Q] Should i wait for moto 360 ?? - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Should i wait for Moto 360 or should i go with the Lg G-watch ??
Please help
Thanks :good:

At this point, you might as well wait. Now that we know the G Watch has issues with the charging pins, the slight wait for the 360 doesn't seem so bad. It does come down to what you want more though, I personally wanted a square device and found the Samsung to be the most fashionable.

Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-360 or here.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-360 and please read the materials in these two threads... It is really up to you to make your own determination as only you can decide..

[Q] The LG g watch or the upcoming ASUS zenwatch?

well guyzz i posted this thread as a question to you all!
I went through their specific review's both seem to deliver a good android wear experience
but from my opininon the zenwatch looks a more decent one, in terms of design
the LG g watch has a poor designing, i culd get the fair idea with the review's at youtube but can u help me out with a specific choice?
Like today samsung launched their tizen contest. Will the LG one and the ASUS zenwatch
be okay or i shuld get a tizen based smartwatch!
Thanks in advance!

I was trying to decide between these two watches as well. I ended up getting the LG G Watch R. It just arrived today, and so far I'm happy with my purchase. Android Wear is still in it's infancy, but I like what Google has done with it already, and with the new Android L deployment already underway, the next revision of Android Wear will only get better. There are already quite a few apps and watch faces available for Wear on the Play Store and as the platform matures I'm sure you'll see more and more pop up.
Reasons were:
Better battery life (3-4 days on a single charge)
Real heart-rate monitor
POLED display has better color's & blacks
Always on display with minimal battery usage
Personal style choice (I like the look of the G Watch R over the Zenwatch)
I think what you need to do is look at what you want from your smart watch, what type of lifestyle you live, and then pick a device around that. That's the only way you'll be truly happy.

I was waiting for the zenwatch and ended up getting bored and got the G watch R, best decision ever. really love the G watch R and totally agree with all brianhill1980's comments above
I liked both but ended up keeping the zenwatch...The two are definitely the best Android wear watches out there. Battery is marginally better with the LG and it is more water resistant but the slimmer feel on wrist was why I kept the zenwatch it makes a difference I kept banging the gwatch R into walls and stuff..I also rather like the heart rate setup on the zenwatch and the bigger screen while only marginally does make a difference for older eyes.
There are more awesome watch faces for the round watches like moto and lg GWR than the zen watch

I'm going with the LG G Watch R, for all the reasons listed above. P-OLED screen, better battery, better all around internal specs, and the round face. I could care less about the heartrate monitor - to date, none have been made for the wrist that are accurate. I also don't like the tan band, though I know this is swappable. I do think the band on the LG is more universal, though. I would have gone for the Moto 360, but its battery life and other specs are just too dismal.
well thanks a lot a lot guyzz u helped me out well!!
i wuld go with the LG g watch r!
Thanks!

Any help is kind enough

Hey, First timer here.. Was in a dilemma as to which smartwatch should i buy at this stage.
The LG GWR and Moto 360 are the only two options I have but with the announcement of Huawei watch which sounds and looks damn cool, I am now wondering if I should wait for this watch to come(launch date not announced) or should I go for the old smartwatches.
If the answer is to not wait for the Huawei watch then out of the two which one should I buy.
Moto 360 has a flat tire but I don't have issues with that.. Even though my usage for a watch would be maximum 10-12 hours a day thus the battery is not an issue.
And I'm looking for a classy look. Thus my support for moto 360.
But then if I could get some help deciding it out I would really appreciate it.

I would wait personally. With the new update coming that will include wifi the moto 360 is the only one out of the two that is going to get that feature ( at least thats what I just read). My moto 360 has pretty bad battery life, meaning around 9-10pm I am usually about out of juice. My asus zen which i am guessing is similar to the lg gwr is usually around 55 percent at that same time. If the wifi means nothing to you then they are all about the same besides the moto being about 50 percent less efficient. I want that wifi myself so i can do things around my house and yard without having my phone at all times with me. I can not go from one side of my living room to the other without losing bluetooth connection with either watch.
Yes!!!! WiFi is very important as you have rightly said keeping phone along with you at all times is a big pain.
WiFi makes life so easier with the watch.
Thank you so much for the help.. Really really appreciate it..
I will then wait. I could even wait for the moto 360 2nd gen as it is scheduled later this year hopefully also the Huawei watch looks very classy and recently Neptune Duo has come up with their own devices which will be interesting to see.
Thank you so much.

My 5 complaints about LG & Tech World

First thing first. I have been watching almost every reviews coming on youtube about G4. But all those well-known guys like Pocketnow, Android authority, Android central, Android police, CNET etc etc never touch broadly a few issues. I have been writing on their page about some of my thoughts so that someday they can ask a poll or something that guys, do you want this??? These guys have good connection with different manufactures, right? people listen to them, watch them. They can change many things if they want, but they usually don't make a poll over some common guy's request, right? So here I am. I am writing 5 of my thoughts about LG G4 and asking you to support me by comments if you like any of my points and hopefully some very generous guy will bring a topic or two from here to the concerned guys.
1. OIS: LG made a big blow in their launching ceremony of G4 about the 3-axis OIS. But let's face it. All the video sample reviews & comparisons I have seen, S6's conventional OIS is far better than LG's. G4's videos are much more..what should I say...distorted as if someone is stretching the corners of the video from different angles. Even smoothness is not also as near as S6's. Brightness too. So is this just a gimmick or really G4 can provide better stabilization with one more axis by a little bit software upgrade by LG? btw what were LG people doing in the lab when they were comparing every single aspect of S6 with G4? Didn't they see the difference??
2. Wireless charging: Ok. It may not be as important as fast charging, but why to exclude it? Yah right now I want to buy a G4 with leather back. But after some days, probably some 3rd party companies will bring back covers with Qi-chip attached. Then what will I do?? I would prefer a leather back with Qi-chip, won't u? I heard that, that leather back is pretty costly?? so won't be it a wastage of money if those Qi-chip enabled covers are brought out? Why LG just doesn't insert a Qi-chip in those leather back panels b4 mass marketing??? Do it LG. You need not be 50$ cheaper than S6, rather insert a 20$ chip, still you will be 30$ cheaper than S6.
3. No manual video mode: Yah all the reviewers are upset saying that why no manual control in video mode?? I think LG can make it possible by software upgrade. But qs is will they do it? LG G4 shows that people from LG really worked hard for the device. Then why not a bit more? Come on LG, speak up. Will you do it?
4. Theme app: I think HTC One M9 has really upgraded the game of customization of stock android by releasing their theme app. Samsung also followed it in S6. Then why not LG? Yah theming probably still possible, but those are not as integrated or expanded as of HTC or Samsung. So is it possible LG working on it??
5. Accessories: This is for 3rd party companies. For the longest time, iPhone has been dominated as the king of smartphone photography with their pretty and powerful camera setup. So it's natural that 3rd party companies will build accessories for their camera more and more. Yah there were a few smartphones earlier which were more focused on camera or for which developers found interest to work on, like S4, S4 Zoom or even S5 or Note 3,4. Even look at the microphone below. This is also for iPhone..damn it.
Yes I am not denying that there are kind of alternatives out there in the market. But they are either poorly built or not easily available. I am talking about quality accessories which are also affordable to many. G4 has come. So why not these companies initiating making products for it n bless us...... I really hope someone will request these companies to do so. Here are the names of a few quality product makers: Olloclip, Schneider, Hitcase, Relonch, Ztylus,, Photojojo etc.
Well guys, thanks for listening. Now please someone come forward and take some steps. Peace.
1. Seems it is pretty well know many who have been posting these did NOT have final release software.
2. wireless charging is in there ready to go, so you will, as in the past, likely be able to buy a $5 sticker and activate WC and keep your preferred cover
3. no answer. does this even exist in other phones or were they "expecting" it because there was a manual mode for the camera?
4. wow, people actually care about theming? I find it to be an utter waste of time and something I would and will never use - so there is a counter perspective.
5. the phone is hardly even out world wide and not even in the USA - have you really even allowed any time at all to see what surfaces?

Wow..nice point of view. I really appreciate.
1. Yah but if LG is working on something, why not they are vocal about it?? I mean this is an era of social media, right? That's what make me curious about it that is LG really conscious about it? See what Mr. Frank Lee said at the G4 unveiling event in New York sounded like LG had been listening to people's voice i.e. making a few mm thicker phone in favour of bigger battery, making an outstanding camera etc. etc. And also LG has been experimenting with providing trial usage with selective customers. So all these sound like they have been trying to reach people. But then they are not saying anything new about it. For example, they could say that they made this upgrade based on people's opinions n etc. But nowhere you will find anyone of LG talking about anything anymore.
2. You see my point was why not LG include this WC built-in. They did this 1 month free trial usage program, right? For what? 90% people are saying they want it, so why not include it?
3. Probably I want the manual mode in video camera because I saw a comparison video of S6 & G4 video capability and in that S6 was much more brighter and pleasant to watch.
4. Nice opinion.
5. I know this will come. But again my complaint is the same. Why nowhere in internet I find someone is going to or already building those accessories for G4. Why not be vocal about it??? People do place "coming soon" products in their website, right???
Again, thanks for reply. I appreciate. Peace.
The only thing what "worries" me is the OIS indeed.
I hope and guess it will be solved in the final version or an update.
From what I have understood. The OIS 2.0 benefits from the photo mode. And it affects in a bad way on filming.
The rest from your points doesn't really bother. But hope you will find your satisfaction.
Thanks.

Need help chosing between LG G Watch R and Moto 360

Hi there
Im thinking about buying a smartwatch in the next days.
Im between the moto 360 and lg G R watch.
Could someone give me some advices with some pros and cons?
Like software support in future, apps that can use, quality...
Thanks for the help
they both run Android Wear, so software support, watchfaces etc shouldn't be a problem
both different style, but that's up to you
the moto 360 however does use old technology (it's omap processor dates back to 2010), has the worst battery life of all android wear watches
G watch R's display is an OLED one, so it's better readable outdoors, uses less power
and the 360 has the infamous "flat tire" look, it's display isn't fully round
i'm waiting for the 2nd gen moto 360, which might be announced at Google I/O
you might want to change the topic title to something like "need help chosing between LG G Watch R and Moto 360"
Hi there.
Thanks for you reply.
Yeah, i ll do that. Maybe the moto 2nd could be the one i looking for.
Still no news from 2nd gen moto...
Meh...
yeah shame it wasn't announced on google i/o
that new zenwatch, those bezels....

Worth the upgrade?

Hi users and developers ,I am pretty much confused as for I should pick Moto g4+(3,32) by handing over my Moto Turbo (3,64),so can suggest your views as if it'd be a worthy upgrade or not?as far as I know the g4+ has software glitches creating the performance issues and wonder if they could solved by installing custom ROMs? awaiting for a quick reply, thanks in advance ??
no clue if it's a n upgrade
Don't know anything about your current phone.-
No software issue ever on my g4 plus.
The g4 plus is ok for a cheapy phone.
i DO have ghost touch off and on which is a pain in the ass though.
No compass also, some people want that.

if you can buy G5+ or G5s+ go for them as G4+ is a heater and have different problems for different users.
you should get g5+ which is defiantly good phone than g4+
The G5+ looks much better if you can afford it. As others said, the compass is missed in the G4+. Other than that, it's a great phone with a great battery life and I don't have ghost touch issues if I leave the screen brightness below 50%.
You should not go for g4+
I must tell you this phone heats a lot especially when you record a video, no matter which rom you are on. And there are different issues with different users like ghost touch, screen burn, random shutdowns/reboots,etc.

Nope don't ever pick g4+ when g5+ or g5s+ are way better in heat management and have premium design.

Go for g5+ instead of g4+. I'm currently using the g4+ and recently bought the g5+ for my brother and i must say that g5+ was 100 times better than the g4+. G4+ heats a lot if u play games and browsing with data etc... Whereas the g5+ doesn't even get warm with extreme gaming and multitasking, browsing etc...Also the battery life is terrible in g4+ as we have to charge for 2 times a day (my usage may differ with others) but on the g5+,the battery life is awesome. Note that both are having 3000mah battery but the processors are different which makes the g5+ more battery efficient and no heat rejection. Camera is also better in g5+ even though g4+ also takes good photos. Overall if u want to buy new phone i will 100% recommend g5+ over g4+ as i have seen both phones and used it.
I see lot of ppl recommending g5, but that was not your question!
I find the g4 to have a really nice and active community with a lot of stable and experimental roms. Oreo is soon to be stable.
The g5 is a newer device which will be upgraded to oreo officially, but is a more expensive device and it doesn't have official TWRP nor official lineageOS yet.
I have had many problems with my g4+ and it's replacement from Moto. On my first one I had a massive screen burn in issue, after 5 minutes of charging you could see the status bar icons when the status bar wasn't there. With the replacement, it kept bending so that if you put it on a flat surface only the top and bottom would be touching with the middle arcing upward about a millimeter. I also have had ghost touch issues on the replacement that happened whether or not it was charging. The only fix I found for that was to keep the brightness low. the G4+ is a fantastic phone for the price, if you can get one with no issues. As far as whether or not it is an upgrade from your Motorola Droid Turbo, here is a link to phone arena that compares the specs of the two phones (64 gigabyte models of each). I hope this helps you out, have a great day.
I have just purchased an used Moto G4 Plus XT1644 4GB + 64GB today at B&H Photo in excellent condition (10 out of 10), at least that's how they described it, for $138.50 shipped. It's arriving on Thursday. But I was not aware of these heating issues, screen burn in / ghost touches and so on... So now I'm kinda worried about my decision... My wife had an iPhone 6 and I converted her to a Moto G5 Plus about 3 to 4 months ago. She's very happy with the phone.
I only went with the G4 Plus because of the extra RAM, plenty storage space, external SD card reader and larger screen compared to the G5 Plus (*for the price I paid*). Most importantly, I bought the G4 Plus because it has ElementalX kernel, official Lineage OS support and TWRP as well. The combination of these three kept my Nexus 5 going for 3+ years before it gave up on me a few months ago. My N5 still works but it randomly shuts down and reboots when using demanding tasks like taking photos or when it heats up. As long as I can keep it frozen (out of the freezer - literally) it works just fine though. I've been using a crappy $60 Amazon Prime Exclusive phone, the Blu R1 HD on stock Marshmallow + Magisk / Xposed / Gravity Box / N-ify. Performance is fine considering what I paid for it. Thanks to the infamous fire.apk that plagued the R1 HD for months, I managed to get a full refund for that phone today. So I've got a free phone with malware basically.
I really wanted a 5.5" to 6" phone with good dev support on the cheap but as you know, both the G5 Plus / G5S Plus have a smaller 5.2" and very little dev support (compared to the G4 Plus). So I went with lower price, better dev support and slightly bigger screen on the G4 Plus.

Thanks! But have you checked that page out? It's a very random, make a wish type of messages that no one cares to reply based on personal experience with the device. My post was in hopes of a feedback from people who currently own that device that I just bought. Because I was wondering if I should have invested more money on upgrading to the G5 Plus. "Worth the upgrade?" which I honestly think it's still on topic. If no one wants to take the time to entertain that thought it's fine. I just thought I'd share my own thoughts / reasoning behind my purchase of the G4 Plus instead of just "making a wish" that probably no one with answer objectively with authority on the subject. Get it?
Never mind. Bought a brand new G5 Plus 4+64 at Walmart for 154+tax. I think it's a better deal than the G4 Plus I purchased yesterday. I'll compare them both, particularly the screen size difference and max brightness. But I think you can't beat that price on a brand new phone.
