Which watch do u want?
wait for other manufacturer
LG
I'm really proud of my Nexus 5! So ill choose the LG.
I love the N5, but the moto 360 is shown with a black chrome band. *drool*
Depends on locked bootloaders! ?

Its too early to talk about whats going to be possible or which one is better.
Maybe the newly patented pie controls would very work good here.
music control isnt mentiond in googles trailer but since google now can handle it, i guess the watches do too. i see a maps card in the video, notifications and voice are a good start for developers. i would like to see gestures, heartrate monitor like galaxy gear 2, directions and location suggestions. floating notifications, multi layered watch-like ui controls, there are a couple things i would like to see and do with these devices.
it seems the lg watches will be water resistend? otherwise we couldnt wear it on the beach (like in google wear trailer)
i still dont know if its better to have a full featured android device with custom ui on your wrist or a stipped down version which only synces with your main droid.
i think standalone is the way to go but i can imagen battery issues.
maybe use e-ink display?
it would be great to sync while the main device is availible, but still work if its not in the area... like in the beach scenario from the trailer, without phone in your neo it wouldnt work, would it?
the moto360 looks amazing, im really looking forward to the release day
lg version is ok, cant say much without specs.
samsung galaxy gear 2 has heartrate monitor
sony smartwatch needs update
wimi has gsm standalone and android/iphone sync features
peeble uses e-ink display
android watch z1 was the first full featured android smartwatch
iconBIT Callisto 100 was the next best thing with full android
Simvalley Smartwatch AW-421.RX is full feature android too i discovered today
also it looks like china has released a bunch of new smartwatches... lets see
nice concept Smile Smartwatch http://youtu.be/Luv9X9YbxuM

Waiting to see some specs, pricing and more info. That being said, the Moto 360 is drop-dead gorgeous from what I've seen so far!
We should know more on the Moto 360 after tomorrow's Hangout.

Motorola. It simply looks more like a watch, and it'll be a nice addition to my Moto G
Not sure yet. I want to wait and see specs and features such as heart rate monitor, and see what the other OEMs come up with.

The features will most likely be the same because of all the apps on the Play Store. But yeah, specs matter too.

Agreed, I meant more hardware features beyond the SoC, display, etc like the heart rate monitor, accelerometer for fitness tracking, etc.

Lol in what universe? Maybe in another (samsung) Galaxy but not in this world.
The Motorola one is looking nice in concept.
Lg
LG, cheaper and better design :good:
I'm leaning towards the LG, but only because I love the quality of the G2 and the last two Nexus devices.
Going on just the look (I haven't seen any specs) only, hands down Moto360 easily, looks awesome, a lot smaller bezel, if the reviews are good, and battery last at least two days, I'll probably buy one if it's sub $500aud.
Oh i prefer moto of course. Cannot wait when sales starts
I am starting this discussion for all the Moto X fans out there to have a say about their favorite features, the features they want and the features they would like changed (or changed back)
The main motivation on my judgement on features below is that I am considering the Moto X to be the most user friendly daily driver. All round phone that is not specialized, does everything well and nothing exceptionally great. Especially for the urban lifestyle (some may call it plastic or tin canned).
Size
The best thing I like about the 2013 Moto X is the 4.7 inch display, this gave the 2013 Moto X the reputation of the best one hand operated phone experience back at 2013 and I believe it should stay, 4.7 to 5 inch is perfect size.
It can also grow in size as different people would like different thing, but in my opinion to keep the one hand operation miracle alive, Motorola needs to keep a version of Moto X with 4.7-5 inch
Screen resolution
I am very happy with the 720, especially that the full HD screen eats up battery. I don't see any benefit of having HD display, even for media or gaming. Battery life is a crucial factor compared to minimal media quality.
Let's face it, media high quality is a nice option on tablet or a bigger device, watching media on the phone for most people (as I have noticed) is when you're waiting for the doctors at the clinic (who don't really know what the word appointment means) or on the bus etc. If I want to watch a video and enjoy it in high quality, I would watch it on a tablet or a laptop, or using my Moto X to cast it to a higher resolution device.
Battery life
Now we're talking, battery life is one of the most important features of the 2013 Moto X and I would give up a lot to keep it lasting a day at least, I would like Motorola to work on it, make it better. Along with the screen size, battery life has motivated me big time to buy the Moto X.
Wireless charging
A nice feature that would make the experience using Moto X even better, however not necessary, I got used to carrying a charger with me, or a decent power-bank, so while wireless charging can help on the work desk or at home, it's almost useless for people on the move (like myself) especially that it takes much longer to fully charge the phone
Touchless controls
Here is one of the best features I have ever seen in a phone. Really, well done Motorola. The ways to enhance this was already implemented on the new one, by customizing the trigger phrase, Motorola has shown it cares/listens to customers. Also the fact that the command list is expanding to cover more than Google voice.
If Motorola want to perfect this, they can allow other apps to use the Touchless controls by providing SDKs to third-parties (or a similar technique).
Enhancing experience and reducing time for repeated tasks
Shake to open camera, NFC accessories, Bluetooth trusted devices unlock are the main features allowing this.
The Motorola Skip is great, keep providing ways to address user frustration points, and time consuming repeated tasks (such as unlocking phone.) This phone addresses the most critical time consuming repeated tasks correctly. Motorola, we want more of those please.
Can you guys think of anything else other than Camera, unlock phone as repeated time consuming tasks? Let me (and Motorola) know.
SD slot
One of the features I wish Moto X had is an expandable memory, I have replaced most of the devices I use with Moto X and that's supposed to be the idea. Replacing alarm, car GPS, Camera mp3 player and more. This is a feature that I would love for Motorola to consider. Many people like myself have a big music library and it's a shame that a great device like the Moto X lacks this.
Camera
The Camera in the Moto X isn't that great, we all know that. Even the 2014 Moto X doesn't have a good one, but I can live with that, camera is not of a great significance to me, and for a all-round device it should not be a great camera. In conclusion, the camera there is sufficient
Style.
The Moto Maker is great, however it has a limitation, the design of the phone itself can enchance or kill the Moto Maker customization. I personally prefer the 2013 Moto X style better than the new one.
Water/Weather Proofing
The Moto X is supposed to be Nano-coated, so it's water proof to a degree, the touch screen cannot be used under water or under rain (even a few drops.) The urban lifestyle is all about being fit, sporty and outdoors. A proper water/weather proofing would be a great feature to consider
Price
No need to say anything here. It's reasonably priced for most parts of the world.
Everyday repeated tasks handling
This is where the Moto X product line excels. Here is a list of the features we love and notes about how to enhance them:
Touchless control: Great! I have already discussed this above.
Assist: I love it, especially for driving mode, however, Motorola needs to consider more ways to trigger the mode. I don't like the driving mode automatically on when on the bus or in a car which I am not driving. Triggering on only when connected to a specific bluetooth device can make this specific to my car which will be great. There are more ways to enhance this as well, please share your opinion.
Skip: I love skip unlock, even though some people lose it a lot, but it's only $10, which makes it easily replaced when lost.
Trusted devices: needs some work, you need to unlock the device once before the trusted device unlock work, very useful when in the car.
Shaking the phone for camera: no complains there, works great, and very useful indeed.
Notifications: Adding the feature to view multiple notifications when the phone is locked for the 2014 version is the update we were looking for.
The old 2013 Moto X should have the software features updates as per:

Update:
Here is a list of guides for the impatient ones (like myself):
How to get 2014 Moto X MotoVoice on a 4.4.4 android 2013 Moto X
I am hoping that motorola adds more in this category, enhancing the user experience by reducing the time for repeated time consuming tasks is what makes the Moto X a great every day driver. Anything else you want added/discussed, please let me know.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...m-launch-phrases-for-the-new-moto-x-and-more/
Update: According to Punit Soni, "all the software will come to our existing users too (as long as the Hardware allows it)." So it's safe to assume that the original Moto X will get this feature – could be soon, but it may not show up till the L update is available. Now we play the waiting game.

On your new Moto X (2nd generation), there’s even more:
To make Moto Voice more personal to you, create your own launch phrase, like “Hello Moto X” and teach it your voice. Say “Play Beethoven on YouTube” to play music videos on YouTube. You can also interact with your favorite apps like Facebook and WhatsApp with your voice.
For Moto X (1st generation), Droid Maxx, Droid Mini, and Droid Ultra users, stay tuned for updates to Moto Voice / Touchless Control soon.

AFAIK, there has not been a solid confirmation of which specific features will be ported, but everything I've read seems to indicate that the two features you mention will be made available in updates for the 2013 Moto X. I believe it is happening.
That's good news, I prefer the old Moto X to the new one for many reasons, but would like to have the software updates. Thanks mate
I would like the new features but I don't care for the white/light blue touchless control screen.. I prefer the black/dark and amoled battery saving version that we have currently.

I think I will probably start a thread about the Moto X features old/new and what users are expecting in the next one
Isn't this such a thread
Dont forget about the moto actions features that let you silence incoming calls with a wave. On the new X it uses the ir sensors to detect movement but i feel like our proximity sensor could do the job just fine. There is a mod that ports these over unofficially but an offcial update would be nice. It would definitely let me know, as a motorola customer, they value me and my investment in their product. Which in turn would really bump up my overall experience with their product and would give them a leg up when it comes time for me to consider who to turn to for a new device.

I have a question about that ir sensor. What sensor does the moto x have for active display ? If I put my hand over the phone without touching it, active display comes up.

It's a proximity sensor on the old moto x. It detects if something is in front of it or not. The ir sensor is different and there's 4 of them as opposed to our 1 proximity sensor. Those are used in the new moto x for facial listening (the screen won't turn off if you're looking at it) and moto actions like activating moto display and silencing an incoming phone call.

Not to mention that I cannot have it anyway as I am (like most most people outside the us) not a Verizon customer.
well guyzz i posted this thread as a question to you all!
I went through their specific review's both seem to deliver a good android wear experience
but from my opininon the zenwatch looks a more decent one, in terms of design
the LG g watch has a poor designing, i culd get the fair idea with the review's at youtube but can u help me out with a specific choice?

I was trying to decide between these two watches as well. I ended up getting the LG G Watch R. It just arrived today, and so far I'm happy with my purchase. Android Wear is still in it's infancy, but I like what Google has done with it already, and with the new Android L deployment already underway, the next revision of Android Wear will only get better. There are already quite a few apps and watch faces available for Wear on the Play Store and as the platform matures I'm sure you'll see more and more pop up.
Reasons were:
Better battery life (3-4 days on a single charge)
Real heart-rate monitor
POLED display has better color's & blacks
Always on display with minimal battery usage
Personal style choice (I like the look of the G Watch R over the Zenwatch)
I think what you need to do is look at what you want from your smart watch, what type of lifestyle you live, and then pick a device around that. That's the only way you'll be truly happy.

I was waiting for the zenwatch and ended up getting bored and got the G watch R, best decision ever. really love the G watch R and totally agree with all brianhill1980's comments above
I liked both but ended up keeping the zenwatch...The two are definitely the best Android wear watches out there. Battery is marginally better with the LG and it is more water resistant but the slimmer feel on wrist was why I kept the zenwatch it makes a difference I kept banging the gwatch R into walls and stuff..I also rather like the heart rate setup on the zenwatch and the bigger screen while only marginally does make a difference for older eyes.
There are more awesome watch faces for the round watches like moto and lg GWR than the zen watch

I'm going with the LG G Watch R, for all the reasons listed above. P-OLED screen, better battery, better all around internal specs, and the round face. I could care less about the heartrate monitor - to date, none have been made for the wrist that are accurate. I also don't like the tan band, though I know this is swappable. I do think the band on the LG is more universal, though. I would have gone for the Moto 360, but its battery life and other specs are just too dismal.
well thanks a lot a lot guyzz u helped me out well!!

I'm looking to change my 2013 Moto X but iIneed help to decide.
I'm between the Zenfone 2, Moto X play, Xiaomi Mi4i or Redmi Note 2.
Looking a phone to play many games and heavy use. I like the zenfone but i read that have many problems on the battery. Then appear the Moto X but idk if the gyroscope would be a sensor that is needed on many apps maybe. Then the are the xiaomi but they feel that doesn't have many support on development.
Help me decide please, need to change this old moto X.
Why not the Nexus 5x, slated for release soon?
Like said, by @dictionary I'll wait the LG nexus before buying something.
I'm too waiting but in Mexico would be a pain to buy it and the price it's never the same
I suggest you this device the battery is a beast and very soon custom kernels, roms will come out .
Just got it today and I'm really excited, coming from a z3 I can say battery life is at the same level maybe better!
I would strongly advise against getting the Moto x play

Same here. Worst phone ever produced by a major OEM.
As long as you're OK with installing a custom rom and kernel, this phone is great. I don't do much gaming so I can't comment on performance there but in every other aspect this phone holds up great.
I've been hoping for an announcement regarding the Moto X 2016. I currently have the Moto X 2015 and love the phone. I don't want the Moto Z due to the higher price and lack of front facing speakers. If there's no Moto X 2016/2017 what will you get?
I'm currently looking at the ZTE Axon 7. It has everything I was hoping for in this year's Moto X except Moto's awesome customization features to stock Android. It also has an awesome QHD AMOLED display, dual front facing speakers, fingerprint scanner on back, all aluminum build, support for microSD, support for dual SIM cards, and runs the same processor as the Galaxy S7 all at a $399 price tag. Reviews are amazing aside from the camera and it seems to be similar to the camera on my Moto X Pure. I can live with that.
Sent from my XT1572 using XDA Free mobile app
TBH, this will likely be my last Moto phone... Moto is not Motorola and the respect for customers and devices that Motorola had is gone under Lenovo, whether there is a Moto X 2016/2017 model or not, I won't be getting one.
The Axon 7 looks solid, but at this time I will probably stick with my MXPE, if I had to replace it today it would be a solid contender, along side the OnePlus 3, or the new LeEco devices announced today look interesting, or I would probably grab a sub-$200 budget or used device temporarily.
I see the Android market changing, with LeEco and Xiaomi bringing phones to the US market (or soon to be), other Chinese manufacturers will likely follow suit, which could bring about a revolution in the mid-range price and device category.
We had OG Droid Turbos. Decided that I wasn't wanting to deal with Lenovo anymore so we jumped over to the Note 7, and we all know how that went. So I was able to pick up MXPs for $250 each to tide us over till next year. As soon as the Note 8 or whatever the replacement for it is released, we are gone from Moto again.
Sent from my Samsung Note 7 using Tapatalk
If I'm honest I have no idea. Decided for now to stick with X Style. I bought a OnePlus 3 the other week from a phone store but by the time it came to picking it up I'd decided it wasn't enough of an upgrade. Trying one in the shop it didn't feel all that faster than the Style though sure the benchmarks would say otherwise. No stereo speakers and although amoled, wasn't as bright. Not to mention Moto display, double twist for camera and double chop for torch.
I'll consider an X Style/Pure 2016/17 if there is even one. True, Lenovo have gone downhill as far as updates are concerned. It's to be seen how/if an upgrade to android 7 goes.
So I still like my X Style. If it fell under a bus tomorrow then maybe an OP3. More probable I'd get another X Style! I've looked Moto Z and not keen. Other than that I've considered a Samsung GS7 and even the Note 7. Axon 7 could be a contender but unavailable in the UK currently.
My Moto X Style is still stock and not had the urge to root or load a custom room. Works day in day out. Battery lasts most days but turbo charge it either by mains or vehicle soon tops it up. I have a tempered Glass screen protector but don't bother with a case and never takes any harm. I work outdoors in a rough manual environment. I still think as phones go it's underrated.
No more Moto for me. As a T-Mobile customer with the XT1575, and having the VoLTE choppy audio almost this entire year, and Moto not providing a fix but almost promising the fix will be in N if it ever gets released, I don't have any reason to give them any more of my money.
My wife's Honor 5x has been solid on CM13 and I am eyeing a pair of Honor 8 phones @ Best Buy for $400 each. I may wait for a price drop and CM14 as EMUI is a bit irritating at times.
Now that Lenovo seems to be killing the Moto brand, I hate Samsung software, LG has some hardware solder issues, I am beginning to like the one plus
A lot of folks are going with the Google Pixel XL phones, but I cannot stomach that ridiculous $800 price. About the only phone I would have purchased for near that price would have been the Note 7 had it not 'gone up in flames'. Thankfully I still have my MXPE trucking on, so I'll wait till next fall and decide then with whatever is available at a decent price. Maybe by then the Pixel XL's will come down in price from the stratosphere.
I heard the Moto Z is pretty good.
I like this phone, but I don't like the direction moto is trending. Nexus is dead.
OnePlus is looking like the best choice remaining for a modder/enthusiast.

Gets good enough reviews.
I said earlier that the Axon 7 wasn't available in the UK but I'm wrong as amazon have them. Price seems to have gone up to £482. It's got too expensive so off my list now. I'd pay a little more and buy a Moto z.

Saw that but I'm not convinced at all. It looks exactly like the Moto X Style/Pure except the bezels look a little more narrow. The picture is blurred except for the viewable screen. Even the most novice of Photoshop users could recreate this. For that matter, even the most basic photo editing software could do a better job than what is seen.
I plan on sticking with my Moto X Pure for a while. It performs very well in my opinion on the stock firmware, I've tried several ROMs and IMO it is hard to beat Moto's stock Android. The Snapdragon 808 is plenty powerful for day to day usage. I do a bit of 3D gaming as well, and with Nougat comes Vulkan, which is becoming more common, so that should help satisfy my need for graphics performance a while longer.
I went with the Axon 7. The hardware is essentially an updated Moto X Pure. The software is just as buggy but it looks like ZTE is so far responsive to making improvements.
TBH, I don't really see the need to upgrade my phone anymore.
I think specwise the number can keep getting bigger and bigger but for me, the specs that a phone truly need had peaked already.
I was really interested in the Moto Z and the Hasselblad camera attachment but I can't take the price at the moment. I received the MXPE for free so I can't complain too much about it. I am considering rooting because I want gravity box to change the navigation buttons and the dpi but I won't be doing much more than that.
Maybe this time next year when the new Pixel is on the way I'll get one of those or the Moto Z
it's hard decision since there is no true moto x alternative right now ;\ decent specs with great price and stock up to date android, since google killed nexus there is no other phone like that. Hopefully I don't have to make this decison yet because I've bought this phone few months before so I'll keep it for next few years.
the xiami mi mix looks very nice, with nova launcher - im really thinking of getting it, but will hold on until reviews come out
