I carry my note 3 (Hyperdrive 7 android 4.3) in a pouch. Something periodically turns my screen to full on, phone gets hit in pouch, and battery burns very fast. I cannot ID the app using the usual battery watching apps. Is there a way to specifically determine what turned the screen on? Thanks!

I also have a gear 1 watch in case that matters.

I bought my wife the S4 and the smart stay and scroll does not work. Anyone else having this issue. And yes, it is turned on...
Anyway to reset smart stay and/or smart scroll feature.

Have you checked the sub menus to turning them on to make sure the feature is also on?
Also, is there anything covering the sensor? case? protector?

Yes, everything is on. Phone is naked. I'm guessing sensor not working.
Also, does the eye symbol stay on status bar regardless if on or off? It is always on status bar and always grayed out.

Eye icon should only show if it detects eye things I thought... hm.

my smart scroll is working, however my smart stay is constantly active, even when my head is turned. I have taken screenshots just to double check
I replaced the faulty S4 with a new one and all is well.
Thanks for the help.

Has anyone had this happen? I've noticed when using the spen that it was not responding to a part of my screen. I went into sketch (see attachment) and you can see the part that is not as responsive. I say "less" responsive cause if I push down harder with the spen it will respond better. Any ideas????? I don't want to have to return it as I have it rooted and all set up now. I've noticed this about a day or so ago.
Edit: with my finger it works perfectly.

This happened to me. It was on the left side If the screen. It would just skip over that part of the screen. Although a factory reset didn't help. I have since rooted and I don't have the issue anymore.

Hopefully someone knows why or what causes it. Weird that it is only with the spen that doesn't work and not my finger. Did yours work with your finger as well and just not the spen

***** SOLVED *****
I'm using a CellTO leather case that has a magnetic flap. This section that was not responding to spen was where the magnetic field was. Dang!!! I actually like this case too. I don't want to keep using it incase it has any prolonged repercussions from the magnets :/

It definitely seemed to me like it had something to do with a magnetic field. But I don't have the same case you have I'm using rubber. I wonder if it had anything to do with me using a metal object to take out my sim. Because it was in the sim card area on my screen.

Has anyone dropped their new toy? Anyone scratched the screen? Just curious how this phone would handle a fall or scratches.

There are several drop test videos on youtube if you do a search.
Edit: I watched a few of them. The phone does well except in the case of a face down fall in which case ur screen is F'd. Still usable but cracked to hell.

I'm actually pissed. I kept it in a Caselogic case and the charging port is too small for a standard micro USB charger. Pulling the case off a few time actually scratched the faux metal bezel.

I probably shouldn't say this because I may jinx myself but in the 5 years that I've owned smart phones I've only drop my device 4 times. I guess having big hands helps.
Dropped mine down an inclined driveway coming out the car. Luckily I had the spigen case on. Unscathed.
Remember to check where your phone is before getting out the car or else it will wind up on the concrete.

I hear of many friends doing this exact thing. At least you walked away unscathed.

Does anyone experience the Air Wake Up function not always working? I made sure the sensors are clean and no screen protector on them.
Sometimes I have to wave or cover the phone several times to turn on the screen. I did this slowly but still. I think I also had this issue with my Note 2. Do you think it's the software or hardware issue?
Thank you,
HL
I don't use air wake now but I did for awhile and it's always worked for me. I have a screen protector in but it's a Zagg with cutouts. I would guess hardware... But don't quote me on that

I hope that I can properly explain my issue this time and hope to get a response this time. A friend of mine had brought to me his galaxy note 3 that was dropped by his son in water and I have myself the wife's S4 that was also dropped in water. My S4 I put it in the rice and few days later it was back alive but then after few months the phone would start but you cant see anything on the screen. THE SCREEN WAS TOTALLY BLACK. I thought the screen had died but it is flickering when I turn on the phone While my friend's note 3 after he put it in rice we can also hear it turning on but also the screen is black but no screen flickering in the case of note 3. S4 can be read by the phone and can get info and backup. Note 3 undetectable by the PC and cant get info out. does anybody have a diagnosis for both devices. If so what are the remedies that we can use. The S4 might not be that needed since I have extracted all the relevant information and have a new device. But the Note 3 is the main device since my friend also needs the info on the phone and he is welling to forget about the phone if phone is unrepairable
Can I kindly request your assistance with the 2 devices

Tried it but no go
I once dropped my Moto X in water, then switched it off and kept it in Sunlight for a day and turned it on. It was good.
put it in a bag of (uncooked) rice for a week or more... That should absorb any moisture....
