any help will be much appreciated
Is the percentage dropping rapidly? And do you have all the features active like GPS, WiFi, BT, max brightness, etc?

Try going to 4.2.2 and see if that helps.
If your still having the issue, it's probably something wrong with your hardware (battery).

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping not to do that, I have flashed slim ROM now, see if this helps, do you think it could be because I stream music from cool Google play music ?
Usually bad battery (especially when it happens out of nowhere) is due to an app causing drain. There are apps that tell you what's eating battery (including the built in meter), the best of which is Better Battery Stats, which you can get for free from the XDA thread.
Sent from an N4 blessed with AOKP and sanctified by Faux123!
yup, majority of the time its an app(s). battery life mostly has to do with your setup, the apps that you chose to install, things that check for notifications in the background, and the way that you use your device. take control of your apps, and their/your setup, and your battery life should be good, no matter what rom/kernel youre on. greenify is a good app to help you get control of your apps.
Check your cord if its faulty, I had a faulty stock cord before telling me my phone was at 100% and when I unplugged it and used it, it went down to 50%
Changed cord, everything was fine.
Do you use a wireless charger? For me 90% of the time it creates a wakelock that won't allow the phone to go into deep sleep. That will hurt battery. If it releases that wakelock or I reboot my phone battery life is phenomenal.

is it normal?

hows your data signal? anyways, thats not normal. disable auto brightness, if your battery is still draining like that, then its not the auto brightness. in that case, its most likely an app, or apps.

The best you can do is to post a screenshot as someone said before. Besides of this, if you have Google Services/Android System battery drain, you can go here:

Hope it helps.
Just noticed that Google services was updated to include on-body detection, which allows your device to remain unlocked while you're carrying it around. Have yet to play around with it long enough to see if works well.

Curious: How are you able to determine its impact on your battery life. My battery life fluctuates greatly on a daily basis, so much so that there is no way I could ever extract such info.

Until i enabled the option i used to get 5+ hours SOT and the battery lasted for around 18 - 20 hours.
Since i enabled it it lasts for 4-4.5hrs SOT and around the same standby.
The only variable changed was smart lock on body detection was enabled.
Though the impact is not so much. But easily came to my notice.

Wait, so you're willing to say that this feature alone is responsible for an average 15% battery hit. That's not even remotely slight. That would be outright scandalous. I don't doubt what you see, but there are just too many variables at play.

The other variable that might be at play is that the trusted places that has stopped working and that might be trying to poll my location. Other than that no other variable (including the signal strength) has changed. So i could isolate the problem to the whole smart unlock features. I will turn it off once and report my findings here.

For me it locks after a couple of minutes when kept down on a flat surface. And it works irrespective of whether i lock it before or not. I checked this with 2 other phones with this feature available.

Its not another smart unlock method used to skip the secured lock. It just keeps the phone unlocked while the phone is in your hand or in your pockets through the various sensors present on the phone.
You may get screwed if someone snatches the phone while your are using it that's the worst case scenario.

Hello.
There are many variables working together affecting the battery life.
1. Signal Strength: where i live i get a very strong signal so the phone has to work less to get the signal.
2. Using wifi: all the result i stated was on wifi with preferred network set to 2g.
3. Location: This is funny, i get better results when on high accuracy as the phone is located faster and thus the CPU consumed by the gps is much less. Here too wifi helps.
4. Moto Apps: i use drive assist only when m going out. Home, sleep and meeting are also on.
5. Sync: i have kept the sync settings in google to minimal. Only gmail, G+ and calendar are synced.
6. Daily Restart: i restart my phone daily to keep away from nasty memory leaks and app restarts which affect performance and battery.
7. Other Apps: use mostly amoled friendly apps with manual syncing. That too not too many apps are installed.
These settings will increase standby time. Note that you actually have to use the phone to get better sot within the battery cycle.

Me personally I turned off scanning...went to device only gps and 2.4 ghz only...wifi is no longer in my battery...and battery life is vastly improved.
May want to see if any of your apps have permission to alter wifi state...not sure if any of the social media allows this as I do not use them.
I came from a Galaxy S4 so to me there were no issues. Now I have been off charger and off wifi for 4 hours and only lost 6 percent battery as opposed to roughly 15 percent this time yesterday.

Mine isnt showing at all now, since mentioned my fix I allowed the auto band frequency and it hasnt came back up...going to try undoing each one for a few days see if I can pinpoint just one cause
Two theories, well 3.
One, it's a false flag. With light use, or streaming, especially without charging for awhile, which you wouldn't need to do with the light use, wifi is really using that much but it's not bad considering the uptime. How's your actual battery life?
This is the most likely scenario.
Two, did you auto restore apps during setup? An app from your Nexus 6 could be been installed with Nexus 6 settings.
Three, the wifi is definitely being reported differently.
Battery stats on this phone kinda sucks. Or it coulld be a bug which goes back to theory one: how's your actual battery life?

For me personally once I was able to get wifi off battery usage my battery life improved vastly. Average usage during the work day...originally I would be down to around 60% when I got off maybe a little less, now Im staying around 75%. Was having to chare around 7 in the evening, now just plug in it around 10 until it charges unplug it drop to 95-96 when i wake up...it was dropping about 20% overnight before
It's wifi scanning in locations that gets left on and drains the battery. I have to go in every once in a while and disable it then my phone is all good

So finally the oneplus x journey for me is over, with the pretty good bugs (infamously the mightty cell radio active bug by google),
I will be finally moving to Iphone 7, cheers guys, it was a great journey with all the devs, rooting flashing and all
TC
But why the iPhone? You could get something like the OnePlus 5
Too big screen maybe?
And radioactive bug is an optimisation problem still persisting on Nougat. Maybe on OP5 too...
op5 looks like opx
fed up up of android, they are not able to fix that radio active data bug, since lollipop, it can make any beast phone retard, oneplus 5 is a copy i really dont prefer oneplus after the way they ditched oneplus x , oneplus 2 and now oneplus 3t in just 6 months of its launch..!!
so its farewell for android...!! apple gives updates regularly not like android oems, who just launch phones and let users cry, and yeah better performance and ram management..!! but i will still miss flashing

It can change if you use G+, facebook, facebook messenger, Whatsapp......

No problem after 12 hours
Hey Everyone,
Can someone please tell me what's draining my battery? I used 32% of battery and didnt even get 2 hours of SOT. I do see that my connection is bad.. (at work right now on the 11th FL). I did turn on airplane mode but it seems like the mobile radio wont turn off? Anyone else facing the same issues?
Currently on stock OOS 4.5.14 Kernel- Simplegx Kernel
I don't know. I'm on stock 4.5.14 and stock kernel. I am getting about 9-12 hours of SOT and .3-.6% idle drain for a combined drain average of about 2.2-4.5% an hour depending on medium to heavy use. I don't do anything to crazy with my setup. I just turn off my google account sync unless i add a contact or something then i manually sync them, turn off background data for each app that has no need for background data usage. Work email is on push and personal email is set to fetch every 3 hours.
Seems you're not alone, my 4G+ isnt' great, never seems to connect in the same places my old phone did, and even when it does its nowhere near as fast.
Data is sub-par compared to other devices, it's that simple i've been through every single setting, nothing can change it.
I don't know ow either. I have my OnePlus 5 since a few weeks ago and so far its battery is showing being the best I've ever used till now (I upgraded from a G4+).
I usually get 7-8 hours of SoT with medium usage:
- WhatsApp
- Phoenix (Facebook/Messenger)
- YouTube
- Some gaming (Free Fire Battlegrounds)
- WiFi + 4G+ (switching between them depending on where I am).
I leave home early on morning with full charge and get back with about 30% left.
About the 4G+, it's showing really good here, nothing to complain about it.
