I'm having the same issue and tried turning off wifi scanning and switching location to device sensor only and nothing has fixed it I have no idea what's causing this and it's really getting in my nerves.

Thank, I looked into but I had already done those things. I'm about to do a factory reset to see if it fixes it
Me personally I turned off scanning...went to device only gps and 2.4 ghz only...wifi is no longer in my battery...and battery life is vastly improved.
May want to see if any of your apps have permission to alter wifi state...not sure if any of the social media allows this as I do not use them.
I came from a Galaxy S4 so to me there were no issues. Now I have been off charger and off wifi for 4 hours and only lost 6 percent battery as opposed to roughly 15 percent this time yesterday.

lmao! yours isnt as bad as mine at all.
Mine isnt showing at all now, since mentioned my fix I allowed the auto band frequency and it hasnt came back up...going to try undoing each one for a few days see if I can pinpoint just one cause
Two theories, well 3.
One, it's a false flag. With light use, or streaming, especially without charging for awhile, which you wouldn't need to do with the light use, wifi is really using that much but it's not bad considering the uptime. How's your actual battery life?
This is the most likely scenario.
Two, did you auto restore apps during setup? An app from your Nexus 6 could be been installed with Nexus 6 settings.
Three, the wifi is definitely being reported differently.
Battery stats on this phone kinda sucks. Or it coulld be a bug which goes back to theory one: how's your actual battery life?

For me personally once I was able to get wifi off battery usage my battery life improved vastly. Average usage during the work day...originally I would be down to around 60% when I got off maybe a little less, now Im staying around 75%. Was having to chare around 7 in the evening, now just plug in it around 10 until it charges unplug it drop to 95-96 when i wake up...it was dropping about 20% overnight before
It's wifi scanning in locations that gets left on and drains the battery. I have to go in every once in a while and disable it then my phone is all good

Sort of... 3G uses less power than WiFi in some ways, and more in others...
In general, WiFi uses less for data because it is faster and thus spends less time fully charged up. But 3G uses less power when charged, but at slower speeds, so it ends up using more... ie, WiFi uses, say, 3power x 1sec=3 where as 3G uses 2power x 2sec=4.

3% screen usage? Did you even use it at all? next time can you include the usage for each of the items listed in the list? would be helpful for comparisons
40 hours only?
I reached 3 days with this kernel meaning 72h and yes I used wifi,market,camera,sms... but all in light to moderate use.
My N1 is 5 weeks old so perhaps the battery cycles are beginning to make it last more too.
The minimum battery I have now is 48h when using ''Men's health'' app for an hour (lot of screen usage) while at body building.
I wonder if GPS will eat battery too fast

Are you sure you only used it for a 30 minute voice call? There's definitely something fishy there, it isn't normal behavior. If you have 3G on and you're in a place with bad reception a lot, or you have screen on (especially with max brightness), it can take up a lot of battery.
Install something like Spare Parts from the market which can show you battery usage history and use it to check whether you have any rogue apps running. If there's nothing suspicious there, you probably have a faulty battery. Any games using the rotation sensor even when they should be closed take up a lot of battery.

Well I'm in Manhattan, NY. Even though my signal is very strong outside(-51dBm) while in door its around -90dBm to 111dBm. SO I guess that could be a slight cause. I have it my phone on "gsm auto(PRL)" which has help. I also have the brightness on AUTO and everything else I do with this phone like texting, reading and the occasional browsing does not pass 20min. So a total of hour.
Now even after a fresh charge I loose 10% in 5hrs without every turning the screen on. This my second swap and I have 3 batteries. They all do the same thing. I just installed Spare Parts, lets see how this goes.
I have original stock rom unlocked
and currently it's been on 18 hours and I still have 77% battery left!

Do these mean your going to return the phone in the 30 day refund window because of the issues? Or are you mainly trying to bring these issues to light to see if they can be fixed?
3. Will never be fixed
4. Battery life is directly related to two things. Use and intelligence of the user. I get great battery life even with heavy / moderate use.
The other two will be fixed at some point.

You need to look at your settings my battery lasts all day
You either have a defective phone or don't know if you actually have anything running in the background.
Either way there is an abundance of information here to figure out which. There will be those that fix their problems and those that just ***** about them.
I have to agree with Aridon, my battery life is fine. It's close to most other smartphones I have used. Not the best, but certainly in line with my expectations.
There is a lot of info on these forums already to improve battery life.

Well i'm not so much *****ing about the battery (but lots of people are in the other threads), i'm more worried about the touch screen and such.
If you want to use the screen laying down on its back with one finger just plug it in and it will work fine. This issue, I don't see it as an issue but whatever, will not change. A software fix isn't going to suddenly complete a physical circuit. If you plug the device in it works just like you are holding it.
As for the touch sensor and fps these will eventually get resolved. The device has been out a week. We are lucky to be where we are development wise this early in. some things are going too take time. We are lucky to have root and recovery this early and system access is coming.
The battery issue can be taken care of easily. Root, remove all the social network **** and all the bloatware. Then test your battery. If it still sucks then bring the phone back for a replacement. Unless you are constantly searching for signal our using the device with heavy steaming there is no way you should be losing 25% an hour.

Can your task manager show hidden apps? I think Advanced Task Manager has this option. Something like: "Menu, settings, process level" Then you can see all the hidden processes that are running (Sprint apps, etc)
Battery life is totally dependent on how you use your phone and your settings. Yesterday, under normal use, I went 17.5 hours off charge and still had 20% battery remaining. I use my phone for work email, personal email, calling, texting, surfing the web, watching vids, taking pics, navigation etc.
My EVO has as good if not better battery life than my Hero. You just have to know how to set it up.
I have issues with the gmail app. Sometimes it does not respond when I hit reply. Often have to exit the email and then return for it to work.
Sometimes get sms errors when trying to hold back to back conversations.

Try going to 4.2.2 and see if that helps.
If your still having the issue, it's probably something wrong with your hardware (battery).

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping not to do that, I have flashed slim ROM now, see if this helps, do you think it could be because I stream music from cool Google play music ?
Usually bad battery (especially when it happens out of nowhere) is due to an app causing drain. There are apps that tell you what's eating battery (including the built in meter), the best of which is Better Battery Stats, which you can get for free from the XDA thread.
Sent from an N4 blessed with AOKP and sanctified by Faux123!
yup, majority of the time its an app(s). battery life mostly has to do with your setup, the apps that you chose to install, things that check for notifications in the background, and the way that you use your device. take control of your apps, and their/your setup, and your battery life should be good, no matter what rom/kernel youre on. greenify is a good app to help you get control of your apps.
Check your cord if its faulty, I had a faulty stock cord before telling me my phone was at 100% and when I unplugged it and used it, it went down to 50%
Changed cord, everything was fine.
Do you use a wireless charger? For me 90% of the time it creates a wakelock that won't allow the phone to go into deep sleep. That will hurt battery. If it releases that wakelock or I reboot my phone battery life is phenomenal.

It really depends on how you're using the device, what kind of signal you have, what kind of data connection you have (3G/LTE), whether you keep your data connection on while using WiFi, your geographical location, so many factors. In saying that though, that's less than what I typically get and I live in a black hole for phone reception.

Hey Everyone,
Can someone please tell me what's draining my battery? I used 32% of battery and didnt even get 2 hours of SOT. I do see that my connection is bad.. (at work right now on the 11th FL). I did turn on airplane mode but it seems like the mobile radio wont turn off? Anyone else facing the same issues?
Currently on stock OOS 4.5.14 Kernel- Simplegx Kernel
I don't know. I'm on stock 4.5.14 and stock kernel. I am getting about 9-12 hours of SOT and .3-.6% idle drain for a combined drain average of about 2.2-4.5% an hour depending on medium to heavy use. I don't do anything to crazy with my setup. I just turn off my google account sync unless i add a contact or something then i manually sync them, turn off background data for each app that has no need for background data usage. Work email is on push and personal email is set to fetch every 3 hours.
Seems you're not alone, my 4G+ isnt' great, never seems to connect in the same places my old phone did, and even when it does its nowhere near as fast.
Data is sub-par compared to other devices, it's that simple i've been through every single setting, nothing can change it.
I don't know ow either. I have my OnePlus 5 since a few weeks ago and so far its battery is showing being the best I've ever used till now (I upgraded from a G4+).
I usually get 7-8 hours of SoT with medium usage:
- WhatsApp
- Phoenix (Facebook/Messenger)
- YouTube
- Some gaming (Free Fire Battlegrounds)
- WiFi + 4G+ (switching between them depending on where I am).
I leave home early on morning with full charge and get back with about 30% left.
About the 4G+, it's showing really good here, nothing to complain about it.

Data is sub-par compared to other devices, it's that simple i've been through every single setting, nothing can change it.

right.. and the damn phone radio is ALWAYS active. Even in airplane mode it wont turn off. It's frustrating. I'm trying to locate what is really eating my battery and i dont have a clue.

This was one of my lasts batt usage status. It isn't that good cuz I had some more usage on that day, but I've got best scores

Are you sure? How do you know? Could that be the settings Mobile Data always on? Or maybe allowing google to scan for networks, allowing apps to use data without permission? Not 100% if it's the phone.
Thinking about that, what if you are actually on a plane lol

Seems average at best. I'm using only a single sim and I don't have SOT like that.

Lol my battery stats say so... and airplane mode is SUPPOSED to shut off mobile data but the radio is still active. It never turns off for me. Idk bro I'm using Gsam to find the stats but I cant find whats going on. Can you take a closer look for me?

Are you using beta or stock? Tried wiping cache? I've seen some reports that after a while cache the battery showed very good.

stock. Inerased cache multiple times. I'm going to reflash OOS and lightning kernel. Hopefully a factory reset will help.

I can't see your screenshots. I'm dying to know your stats because I'm with T-mobile as well. Would you mind re-uploading them?
