Hi everyone,
I have a couple of questions that I hope can be answered. I live in Ireland and have just bought a brand new at&t Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900A from a neighbour thats just back from the states, I am hoping that I can root it and get rid of nearly everything that they have on the phone..
Is it possible for me to root the phone and flash a standard samsung kitkat rom on it? I want all the s pen functions and want to feel like I have a normal phone and not one thats been destroyed by at&t.
Thanks in advance and hopefully I can get some pointers..
PS: I have also put this in the at&t galaxy note 3 section but it doesn't seem like anyone answers any questions over there lol
Yes as beginner I think it is possible by just flash an usual stock rom

OK so I have rooted my note 3 using towelroot.com and installed supersu and rootchecker to cinfirm its rooted. Now how do I go about rooting it?
Is it odin I use? Where can I get a standard kitkat rom?
Thanks again
Sorry for the late answer. Just look around the page here there are tons of how to and stuff that help you get your things going

Hi,
I'm on stock and unrooted till now.
I heared about the HD voice feature from the S4 and wanted to use it since my carrier is supporting it.
I'm on the actual FW from Samsung MF8 and as I heard it is not possible anymore to enable it via service menu.
Can somebody tell me how to enable this feature?
When I need root for that, ok i think it is worth it.
But no idea what to adapt when I have root to enable that feature...
Please help
THX

Hello experts, :highfive:
I want to hard reset and root my Galaxy Note 3.
It is the N9005 model.
What is the best and safest way to do it and what you need to consider?
It is better to hard reset first and then root or otherwise.
Thank you very much for the tips.
Waiting for your replies :good:
Factory reset, then root. Makes no difference which order you do it. You don't even need to reset to root.

You should first check with *#1234# your current versions for firmware, and if all are before MJ3 you can root with Universal Root De La Vega and you will still have knox 0x0 - read for more details the specific threads on that.
thank you so much for the answers, :good:
It's the first time I go to reset my phone, so I wonder to know the risks and what I have to take into account and whether it's worth rooting the device.
I have installed many useless apps and the hard reset I'll do it anyway, so, will the root serve me?
thank you!!!

It depends on what you want to do when you root, do you need to root? if not, then don't. If so. Read more.
It's better to think about what do you need root to do before cracking your phone. For an average user, root is not necessary.
If you decide to do it, check CF-Autoroot in the note 3 original development forum. It's easier but make sure you understand everything in that post first.

Vielen Dank ouankou
Mate, if you need to ask if you need root then you don't need it...
Do yourself a favour and leave well enough alone....

After almost 2000 posts to your credit and being on XDA since 2012, everyone is probably confused as to why you're asking and why you haven't tried already.
If K1 is not a locked bootloader, like we've now seen with the COJ5, you should be able too.
I've never seen anyone post not being able to flash back to an older modem. Unless it was user error like picking the wrong one, for a different phone.

I'm just too afraid of permanently damaging my phone.
Numbers do not matter, I still learn. Sure, I know more than someone new to the community but that doesnt change the fact that I dont know everything.
The person right above you has problems with his phone now. I'm just trying to prevent that from happening to me too.
Anyway, if I flash the COJ5 bootloader, there is no going back?

Yes don't flash Coj5 to avoid stucking with 5.1.1 roms
That's all good luck

WIth a looooooooot of difficulty I was finally able to root this thing, but my earpiece stopped working and unfortunately I think it's a hardware problem, which means I gotta take it to service. I've seen a ton of guides but they seem really really complicated, so I humbly ask if someone could please make a very simple and detailed guide on how to remove root and get knox back so I can take it to service. My s7 Edge is the Exynos version.
Also, if it's possible to do it on a Mac, even better, but if not, I'll go along with it. I just really really need some help guys =/
PS: My phone is from Brazil, don't know if that changes anything...
You must flash stock rom (sammobile.com)
Envoyé de mon SM-G935F en utilisant Tapatalk
How do I do that though?
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
Download your specific region firmware from samfirmware ,
Unzip and flash each specific file ( should be five files ) in odin. Make sure you have the drivers installed as well.
E.G AP file choose it using the AP tab of odin and so on.
Check this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3335065
But the knox counter wont get reset, if knox is triggered one time garanty is gone

Knox is triggered, so unrooting won't make any difference.

You can only hope they won't notice / care about it, if you're lucky.
Or you gonna have to pay, probably. But they won't repair anything, before consulting with you.
Good luck, nonetheless. Hope it works out for you.
