If no vibration on vibration test, go to Samsung customer service to check on phone or replace it if you just bought it, again never buy any electronics online.

Sounds like a loose hardware connection based on what you posted. I'd take it to sammy.

Nobody can give advice for that, that's up to you to decide.
I'm sorry to say, but repeating your question is useless. We try to help, but this a personal choice you have to make.

Phone randomly hanging up calls?

Anyone else have issues with their phones randomly hanging up calls? I am running stock rooted with some tweaks, but it was doing this before I rooted or applied tweaks. I shrugged it off at first thinking it was a fluke with the network, but now it's getting in the way of my phones functionality. I hung up on a customer 3 times today, defintelty didn't look good haha.
Basically I'm simply on the phone and all of a sudden it beeps like they ended the call and it hangs up. It happens in full service or less, and all air gesture and motion/voice options are turned off, unless there's something I'm missing. Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance. Cheers!

Well it would have nothing to do with air gestures or other TW features such as those. But maybe they are doing service upgrades in your area. What modem are you on? Maybe try the dialer code (dial "##72786#"), it will reset your network and reboot a couple of times automatically, you don't have to do anything.

Well the dialer code didn't seem to help, and Sprint is telling me they are not doing any work in our area. The issue makes the phone almost unusable for phone calls. Having to borrow others phones to make calls is not what I spent $300 bucks plus my monthly bill for.. :crying:

Your proximity sensor might be messed up. I think you can exchange your phone within 30 or 90 days, if that's the case. Can't really think of anything else besides a hardware issue
You could always try resetting it back to factory settings.

[Q] Moody power button on Nexus 4

Hi
My Nexus 4 is 8 months old and recently for no reason, my power button started behaving weirdly. Sometimes gently pressing it wont turn off the screen and other times it turns off the screen and turns it on again and on some occasions it works perfectly. It is not a ROM issue because sometimes the phone, if shut down, wont even power up.
But as days are passing by the behavior is getting more and more weird. I do not really need the power button coz I use alternatives, but some day if I need to turn on the phone when it is shut down or force shut down the device when it does not respond, there is no way to do so. (EDIT: Pressing volume down button while connecting to AC supply or USB puts device in fastboot mode. Then it can be rebooted using "fastboot reboot" so I am not very worried now)
I checked other posts on XDA but they claim the button is becoming harder to press. My button is not harder to press; it gets pressed just fine and even gives that clicking feeling when you press it. Only the resulting behavior is weird. Has anyone else had this issue? What could be the problem?
(EDIT 2: The power button seems to work properly if I use my thumb nail to press it)

I purchased the phone from the US but don't live in the US so there's no chance of RMA.
Same thing happened on my phone, mainly after I get my back cover replaced. Now I have to use navigation shortcut to lock the screen and volume button to wake.

did u get done with the rma? is it covered under warranty? coz my power button is acting weird but i am worried if the service center guys would say it depends on wear and tear or someting like that..
I'm have exactly the same issue with my 6 month old nexus 4. I'm feeling a bit reluctant to send of my phone for repair, even though it is in warranty and I have not modded it in any way. The thing the issue seems to be getting worse over time. Has anyone sent there phone with this issue of for repair yet?

Kick them and ask them to replace it under warranty if they cannot then ask the issue a RMA so that u can get a new replacement phone under warranty.

Sent mine off for repair yesterday as there is no walk-in option in London We'll see what happens...
power button acting up for me as well. I ended up using the '' Reboot '' shortcut from Rom Toolbox, so no need really to use the button.

Got mine back on Friday, button now works as new. Although, the official repair description didn't really mention what was wrong only that two parts where replaced, no more detail.
dabby91: I recommend you go to the LG website and schedule a repair (lg.com/uk/support/repair-service/schedule-repair). I was without my phone for just over a week and they did a factory reset as well.

Phone Bricked

Hello,
I think that my phone is bricked, wanted to check to see if anyone had advice... it is the last day of the sprint 30 day guarantee thing for me, I believe... but don't know if it works for bricked phones so not sure what to do.
Anyway, it was running the Negalight Wonderrom with KT Kernal, think TouchWiz, and everything else default but for installing a few apps.
Ran Comadose + Crossbreeder last night, rebooted was working fine... then turned it off and went to bed as my upstairs charger wasn't working.
Went to bed, woke up, and it wouldn't turn on. I am currently pulling the battery for 10 minutes to see if that will work to fix it.... but haven't been able to get a response via power, home, vol up or power + vol down.
Pretty sure that Samsung would charge me if I sent it in?
Please advise.
(Also, going to contact some smaller shops in the area that I see on craigslist alot that may know what to do...)

are you sure that the battery is charged? and also your sprint guarantee only lasts 14 days so your well overdue and unless you have TEP its unlikely sprint will just give you another phone without a fight
Do you have TEP on the device? If so just take it in to a sprint store and tell them that it won't turn on. They're not going to known if you rooted if it doesn't turn on.

I actually did have TEP, then it was removed when I sent it to samsung... but Samsung fixed it for free. Seems it was power port abuse or something... no idea how that could be but whatever.
Anyway, just got it back and was able to get online again and wanted to say thanks.

[Q] S4 Touch not responding

I picked up my S4 from Best Buy and got the insurance plan on it. A few weeks back, I dropped it, and the touch screen stopped responding. A simple reboot did not fix it. When I took it in, the Geek Squad guy took a look at it, then it looked like he booted it into recovery (though I didn't see exactly what he did) and did something there that fixed it without a factory reset. He gave a really quick runthrough of what he did, but since I wasn't the one doing it myself, I don't remember what he said.
Anyone here know what it might have been? It's happened again, and I tried recovery and clearing the cache, but that didn't help, and I didn't see any other options that a person free-standing in a room would use to fix something (no updates to apply from cache etc. and I tried clearing the cache to no avail) and I'm hoping to avoid having to either take it apart or *shudder* deal with a flip phone loaner for a few days while I wait for a replacement.
You need a replacement... Bottom line. They should trade it out in store.

Actually, this morning my alarm was going off, and I had no way of turning it off (no touch, and wouldn't respond to 'stop' voice command) so I took the battery out for the 5th or 6th time. When I replaced it, upon booting up, the phone worked again. *shrug* Whatever was out of place or not working has now temporarily rectified itself. I'll probably have them replace it next time it comes up anyway, assuming it happens again.

Galaxy s4 reboot issue (battery already changed)

Got a galaxy s4. It reboots and sometimes can't turn it on for ages. Then sometimes you can turn it on straightaway.
I had golden eye running it did loads at work last night. tried a few other roms all the same
Seems a bit strange...any ideas anyone?

i would say with yours mate thats just the update being a pain? rather than a real serious issue, theres a thread on xda relating to this update just search for that thread bud
Its strange so far with this s4
ive replaced the battery with a battery from ebay, looks like an official samsung one..no difference
reverted to stock..no change still reboots.
tried a few custom roms, reboots occurs. tried google edition, still the same
lowered processor speed, for some reason when i go to rom toolbox the phones whacking out at 1820 mhz..i dont know if thats normal?
another strange issue. When the phone switches on it takes a fair while for the mobile network to connect, ive owned a fair few phones but this one really does take a long time,
anyone have any idea at all, before i got to send it back to samsung and wait for 5 years to get it back
If it shuts down and you can't reboot anymore, then it's a hardware issue.
