Hey
I bought a t mobile Samsung galaxy s4 (SGH-M919) with a cracked screen.
I replaced the screen and I am now encountering a problem.
There is a weird staticy sound that is coming from the phone. It seems like a sound that is coming internally.
Also , my speaker was not loud so I ordered a new one and replaced it.
I am still having the same problem.
The static and low sound.
Does anyone know what could be the problem and maybe the fix ?
Thanks in Advance

Hi all, I have a galaxy s4 which I have had no problems with, but I am having problems. I was getting a lot of static when headphones connected and only left side working so I bought a replacement headphone jack, while I was waiting for delivery also noticed that there was static through earpiece speaker too, anyway I have now replaced the headphone socket and still have the same problem, only difference is both sides seem to be working now but loads of static.
I am now assuming that it is the motherboard at fault so my question is can I replace the motherboard without any problems? I have found a few for sale on eBay at a reasonable price but don't want to shell out and find out it won't work.
Amy advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Mike
Hi guys, so I have a cricket galaxy s4 (old cricket), and it has no sound what so ever whether it be from the main speaker, ear peace, or if I put earphones into the headphone jack. The microphones don't work either when sound is gone, and I'm wondering why this is. I don't think it's a software issue because no matter if I flash to another rom I still get no sound but I may be wrong. The audio sometimes works like normal , and when the audio comes back the micrphones start working again but then it goes away if it's like shaken or something. So can you guys help me out? I'm not sure if this is some deep software problem or a hardware problem (think it might be charging port?), hopefully you guys can help out thanks.
The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to completely restore your phone to stock and then, if the problem persist, it's most likely an hardware defect or a bad contact between the motherboard and components
Hi,
I have been having issues with my earpiece (very low and distorted sound when receiving calls) and speaker (distorted/crackled sounds). Brought the phone back to Samsung Store on Sunday, and after 2 hours assessment, they agreed I have a faulty phone and got replaced with a brand new phone. Two days passed without problem, but today the crackled/distorted sounds came back, both the earpiece and the speaker.
I noticed the issue relating to the speaker when wet, but the phone (both my 'old' one and this brand new one) have NEVER EVER EVER got in touch with any water whatsoever in any amount.
I have been googling for this issues but found nothing. Am I the only person having these issues? Am I just extremely unlucky to have two brand new phones with dodgy speaker/earpiece?
Same problem here. Speaker sounds ok on all three frequencies.
The problem is only there when I am talking to someone via gsm network. Not on viber or listening to music. Please note that I have used same gsm network number on other phone and it works well.
I've used my new s7 edge for about 1 month and I noticed this persisting issue.
During phone calls, I hear an annoying crackling noise. If I turn to the speaker this sounds stops so it only comes from the phone ear speaker. I remember this same issue back in the s4 days which was a speaker hardware problem and people were having their speaker replaced.
Any ideas anyone?
I have The same problem
Me too. But when i put vol down about 80% this annoying sound disappears. it think is a HW problem, propably on full vol, speaker is vibrating. Other day I have the same situation on S4.
Hello,
new s7 edge exynos with the same problem here.
I have the same distortion crackling at maximum volume lvl in every call.
Disappears at lower lvls.
I tried the Low Frq test *#0*#, both 100Hz and 200Hz having this issue,
At 300Hz sounds better with minimun crackling.
Did anyone find any solution to this?
Should I send it for replace or something and try another, or it is waste of time ?
Thanks
It is a nougat issue. Hopefully be fixed soon

I saw many posts in the web having the same issue before nougat update, so maybe it's hardware related ?
Same issue here on my 930L
tested another s7 edge exynos, same issue.
AOA all frnds
same issue facing in my SM-G930L when i installed custom rom destortion feel only voice calls mobile to mobile and on landline its super clear same when stock rom installed sound during calls super clear again....
i tried more thn 3 4 custom roms of nougat all have same issue please resolve if some one cam coz s7 super stock rom is superb
If any of you have ever had your front glass replaced, I ran into this issue as well. I took it back to the company that replaced the glass and they replaced the ear speaker. Now everything sounds great at any volume. The explanation I was given was that in order to replace the glass, they have to heat the phone to soften the adhesive. Sometimes, the heat can damage the speaker coil wiring or short it out.
May not fix EVERYONE, but this is simply MY story.
Thanks!
Solution for cracking ear speaker
Hello Guys,
I had the same issue on my Note 8 and solved it simply by just placing my mouth on the ear speaker and blow and suck (light blow) repeatedly.
Cheers.
Hi guys,
I bought this phone two days ago and i think its a very good phone. One thing though, i find the speaker low volume, and when i try changing notification sound, some music gives a bit crackling/distorting sound.
then i try changing the Alarm, the title "Morning Flower" gives a bit crackling sound too.
Note that i only set the volume to 70%, and the crackling is already there.
I try the same music title on my friend Galaxy J7 prime, and his speaker does not produce any crackling sound and its louder.
The crackling sound only happen if i play piano sound or high pitch musics, but its strange with samsung default music it gives the crackling sound. Other normal non high pitch default songs plays good without crackling/ distortion.
Is it a known issue to this model or its just a speaker defect?
Thanks

Its for sure a defect bro i recommend getting it replaced.
*****NOTE*****:google search about the pixel soind bug and it had the same crackling problem as you said with A 2017 i use a pixel xl and after a few updates the pixel sound bug was solved by google so the main thing is that the cracling can be because of hardware or software but i recommend checking and replacing since it is costly phone. Also tell me the replacement unit has the same issue.

After comparing it 1 - 1 with demo unit on the store, i can confirm its the speaker defect. Demo unit sounds perfect with no crackling sound.
I have contacted samsung, and they have arranged a replacement unit in 3 weeks, i'll report back the result. :good:

Hello. I'm Korean
I have the same problem with the same model. (Korea SK Telecom SM-A520S)
Samsung Service Center says no such problem has been reported
Was the problem resolved after repairing the speakers?
I'm really annoyed by the problem I haven't experienced before....

Hi! I just got my replacement unit yesterday, and here as promised i report back the result.
I'm not asking samsung to repair it, i demand a replacement unit because i just bought it not even a week that day.
The replacement unit does not have such issue, my speaker is now running good no crackling and no distortion. I suggest you ask the SSC guy and compare it directly with demo units.
At first the samsung center representative also said the same, no such issues, he couldnt hear the crackling. But after i asked him to compare it directly with available demo units, he then realized there's some problem with the speaker.
I suggest you ask for a replacement unit. Good luck!
