Only have 1 cable and I've tried all the USB ports

I had the error in your 1st pic, and like Repulsa says....the unused cable from my tab3 made it work.
Is there any connecting/disconnecting beeps grom pc if you move the cable up and down a touch?.

After checking your screenshot , why do you flash the kitkat 4.4.2 with a pitfile on it?and untick Repartion.. Flash only the FNB8.Home.tar mate . I encounter this issue once and the fix was changing the Port

Just had the same "no pit partition" error

Are entering recovery from total shutdown and pressing buttons or using the restart to download mode?
I had similar problem and turns out odin flashing don't work when you use restart to download mode.

I don't have an option to restart to download mode. I'm using stock firmware.

I can confirm today that it was indeed my USB cable. I have borrowed my friends cable and it works just fine.
Cheers for all the help guys

[Q] bricked s4

Hi I installed the root for my s 4 i9505 but i used the i9500 and now it is stuck on the kies thing. I was wondering if there was anything i could do and also if someone has the pit partition for the h3g stock rom i could try that way. Any help is appreciated.
Try to flash back your stock Rom with odin, should be fine.

i have tried that but it keeps on saying there is no pit partition. Do you know where i could get the pit file?
you don't need to get complicated. just download an official firmware that is Odin compatible, and then install in odin (open is as PDA).
before that, shut down the phone (keep power pressed). restart in download mode (volume down, menu then power), with cable plugged out. you will go to the download screen. connect the cable, start odin... and there you are... (at least this is what I did with mine when I got stacked to the kies screen)

I don't know exactly what that would do.
You cannot flash another kernel, as there is none yet.
You need to be in download mode for kies to recognize (volume down, home, power). It should work to do Emergency firmware recovery in Tools.
Anyway, I am quite sure that running from Odin works. Have you tried to follow the steps I mentioned?

what will it do if i do? as i am getting frustrated as then the phone will be a £600 paperweight
Repartition is supposedly going to wipe all data on your phone, but it's also a death button that makes you ODIN freeze and making your phone not boot up so proceed with extreme caution
It uses the .pit file to repartition the space the pit file holds how much to allocate to /system, /data. If you leave it blank and flash, it'll drop the files your flashing into the existing 'slots'. If you select the pit file and repartition, it'll reallocate.
Only select that if the instructions for your rom require you to do it.
Thanks it works. I put the usb lead at the back of my pc and installed the stock rom thanks for your help guys

You could always root by flashing a custom kernel instead of the root only methods. Those are the ones that won't work now. And the latest Russian firmware shares the same build number with 20 other firmwares of different countries. You can see that here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257645 So it doesn't matter if the firmware is of Russia or some other country. They'll share the same problems.

Download Odin 3.07 from here. Install Kies on your computer so you can get the necessary drivers to recognize your phone in download mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2264454
This is the kernel I use and I would recommend it but you can choose any other. They all work great. One you download the kernel and install kies, run Odin. On the right there will be options to add files. Click the button that says PDA and you'll be able to navigate to a file. Find the kernel you downloaded. (Should be in .tar file extension. If it is a .zip then unzip it.) Then just click start and watch the magic.
Oh yeah and you'll have to connect your phone in download mode for that. To do that just turn the phone off and hold the power button + volume down + home button.

remove the battery, reinsert it, go into download mode, flash a sammobile rom with odin.
if one rom does not work, download a different, may be older and redo the procedure above.
repeat until success...

I'd say take it to Samsung and if it is still in the "instant replacement period" which is usually the first month they should replace it without any issues. In Australia we're lucky, if we have knox warranty 0x1 they still have to replace/refund the device as they have to abide the consumer laws. If you are rooted or voided your knox warranty it wouldn't hurt to go and ask them for a repair/replacement and don't tell them that you have rooted/voided warranty. :good:

Try a different version of Odin first. For me only 3.09 and upwards works.
Install Samsung kies 3 to make the phone recognizable by pc and try flashing stock firmware with odin 3.09
First of all, you should download the drivers and stock rom from Sammobile.
Found the drivers here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/k93a92c9rpyg4r5/Samsung-Usb-Driver-v1.5.55.0.exe
(not sure if they work, go and ahead install them and boot to download mode, then see, if odin recognizes it)
Latest Odin download: http://odindownload.com/
If the drivers work and your device is connected to the computer(also boot into download mode) and odin recognizes it:
1) Choose bootloader, then search for your downloaded firmware.
2) Head to the options tab and tick "Nand Erase All", "Phone EFS Clear" and "Phone Bootloader Update".
3) Then hit start and wait it to finish.
It should delete everything on your phone, restore it like it came out of the box.
If the drivers don't work let me know, I'll search for other working ones.
