Download stock rom and flash it with odin.
Use google.

or you can just download another rom (I actually use SlimRom 4.3. It's really nice BTW)
download the rom, put it on external sd card. Go to recovery and
1) wipe data/factory reset
2) wipe cache
3) go to mount then format system
4) go to Advanced then format dalvik cache
5) go to install then external sd card and browse to your rom
6) Enjoy
I had issues with updating from CM10.2 to CM11 however I never got to the stage it got stuck in a bootloop although this could be due to new permissions that CM11 require. Ensure you have the latest ClockworkMod installed as that should install it correctly. I also suggest doing a wipe after installation as well as using PA Gapps if you want to used any system google apps.

Hi guys,
I am pretty new when talking about flashing android on my LG GT540. I managed to flash up to PCFighters latest CyanogenMod 7 (AOSP).
Right now I got only the basic version without the service packs. I get this version via the recovery modus of my phone and a custom rom on the sd. Unfortunately I have no clue how to install the patches ore a single boot file. I looked up for houres without luck. :-(
Can someone give me a hint. Don't want to brick my phone.
Thanks a lot!
erm advice you not use pcfighters rom for awhile as all this small patches will be inclueded on his next release and this is under active development and might be unstable at times.
With all service pack an latest boot.img this rom are very stabile. No fc, reboots, ets...
@topic you need to put sp on sd card and install via recovery. Latest boot.img shuld be installed via fastboot.

1. put SP 1 on SD card
2. install via recorey > install zip from SD > choose zip and install it
3. wipe data/factory reset in recovery
4. reboot and do the same with SP 2
---
5. either fastboot (know how to use it?)
or
5. put the boot.img on your SD card into: sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/update
then in recovery select advanced restore and navigate to the boot.img
then wipe data/factory reset
and in recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
nothing should go wrong if you do these steps
edit:
but like bs828 already said this rom is in development and so it'll get more updates than others but if you want to install it though you can do of course.
I have had my N7 for a week now, and have unlocked and rooted it. I flashed the jr5 rom and it worked ok, but i decided I wanted to try the pure AOSP rom, so I did a data/cache/dalvik wipe and flashed the rom. It proceeded to boot and freeze at the Google screen. I rebooted into recovery, and attempted to restore from my backup (failed), flash the jr5 rom (failed), and reflash the AOSP rom (failed). I then decided to follow the instructions on ROOTZwiki and restore back to stock (although still unlocked). I restored to the factory image, and attempted to flash the CM10 AOKP rom, and was again met with the frozen Google screen. I made sure to wipe data and both caches each time i tried to flash a rom, but I always end up stuck at the Google screen. What could be causing this? I would really like to know if anyone has any idea, because I fully plan on running the full version of CM10 when it is released.
By wipe Data you did factory reset in cwm? And what version of cwm are you using?

yes i did a factory data reset each time. I am currently running v5.8.0.2 of cwm
could that be the problem? that my cwm is just outdated already?
No that shouldn't be causing your problems, although I would recommend flashing TWRP recovery through goo manager.
I would first download a ROM on your computer and check the MD5. Then mount your nexus over USB and copy the new ROM over to the nexus sdcard directory and while its connected use your computer to check the MD5 on your ROM while its on the device. Then wipe data, cache, dalvic cache and system. Then install the ROM and Gapps and reboot. Make sure its only the to, and not a desperate kernel or anything for right now. When you reboot give it 10 minutes or so the first boots are often way long.
If that doesn't do it copy the stuff on your SD card over to your computer and then format the SD card.
To install TWRP, install goo manager from the play store, when you open the app just press menu, you don't need to browse for files or anything. Just press menu and then choose Install OpenRecoveryScript and when its done reboot or reboot to recovery, can't remember which did the trick, and it may take a couple of times.
Also remember that booting through boot loader to recovery requires the USB cord to be connected to a computer to avoid the Google screen looping.
Hope some of this was helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to help me. Before I do the goo-manager/twrp install, are there any inherent advantages or disadvantages of using twrp as opposed to cwm? Also, I hadn't thought to check md5s after moving the roms, so I will be doing that from now on.
Twrp works just fine.
In your recovery, can you mount and unmount all your partitions without any errors?

am I finally doing it right?
I flashed EOS rom from a clean system and it worked fine. Decided to have gapps and installed via twrp. This would give me boot loop into recovery no matter wat combination of cache clearing etc used. So finally I did the counter intuitive and installed gapps zip followed by ROM zip. This seems to have worked though it seems backwards to me. Is this the correct procedure?

no. did the rom already come with gapps? the rom would wipe out whatever gapps you did flash before the rom.

I don't like Twrp not being able to boot into recovery from holding the buttons, especially running into these loops during installs. Had the sameresults with cwm though. Now I am having this boot loop with TeamEOS as well as Skanky (neither package gapps) I however only loop if installing gapps after the rom or wiping caches.
If caches and system are wiped, gapps installed, then the rom I get a functioning system. Can anyone shed some light on what trigers specific loops or how to review tje errors / panics?
I'm reviving this thread since I have a similar issue. I am using TWRP. I have no problem performing a wipe (I do a factory reset, plus dalvik cache wipe), or flashing a new ROM (I've tried SGT7 and PA2.11). I can boot into the ROM fine. Once I try to flash Gapps, I get stuck in a boot loop that ends up going back to recovery. I've tried different combinations of operations, with different versions of gapps, but nothing works. I've tried:
gapps-jb-20120719-signed
gapps-jb-20120726-signed
both from goo.im, MD5 checked, without success. I'm stuck using SGT7, because that one includes Google account, and Play Store, so that can get me going... Only thing, I haven't wiped the data partition, because that's a bigger hassle. Do you guys have any clues as to what I should try next?

Do you flash the rom and gapps and then reboot, or flash the rom, reboot, then flash gapps?
Did anybody get out of their bootloop? I flashed paranoid droid with twrp and I didn't select "signature verification" or "md5 check" as I read before hand on another forum that it wasn't needed and to actually not tick "signature"....so now I'm in a bootloop, volume buttons and power does get me in to a few selections, "reboot", "power off" and "recovery". When I select recovery it just takes me to the black screen with "Google" on it. No idea how to get out of this loop....I'm researching now but I am not understanding much....I'm so use to Samsung devices, getting out of bootloop with those are a piece of cake, this I'm clueless and helpless on. So does anybody have a way for me to either reflash the rom or get me to where I can go back to stock? I used wugfresh to root. Thanks.

I finally got in, so I'm all set. Thanks! I have no idea why I was having a hard time...twrp wouldn't pop up once I was in boot loader. I must of tried like 20 times. Anyway....I'm in and I just reflashed and it was fine.

Ok look !
1) Reboot Recovery (POWER BUTTON - MENU MAIN - VOLUME CTRL +
2) Install from SD find Abyss and install it (don't restart after this) go to
3) Advanced
4) Reboot Recovery
If you want to install custom rom follow that steps:
5) Wipe Factory reset (if you do that you will loose are your files if you don't want take backup before to do, but you have to know you have if you install Custom ROM to do that)
6) Wipe Cache
7) Wipe Dalvin
8) Install from SD run Jbroid
9) Wipe all again
10) Install from SD, find your ZIP custom ROM for example i have chrack 10
11) After installation Reboot system
You are ready
Have you run from before CWM and SU-Busybox ? Because you have to and then you will flash Abyss
Uf above doesnt help,
Flash kernel that goes well with asylum the abys part might also be blocking bootup

Downloaded HYPERION Final Build 6, flashed to my SGY(stock rom and kernel:S5360_DXLF2_OLBLG1_DXLF1) using CWM with success and then choose to reboot the system but stuck in boot screen.
I leave my phone and waited for several minutes but still no joy. Used Odin 3.65 to recover the system and restore the stock rom and then flash again the HYPERION ROM but still no luck.
Please help guys....
If you get stuck at the logo screen try using a different compilation of CMW.
If you meet bootloop try wiping cache and Dalvik cache.

There's oneby skins and one by madteam. Search and you'll find it. Btw, flash to stock rom using Odin (if you're on a custom rom) before flashing hyperion.

after flashing DXLF1, try flashing EVO-X2.1 first then Hyperion (that's what I did). I used Merruk's CWM it has a much cleaner interface. :3
first flash stock dxlf
then if youre succesfull go to stock rom home screen
reboot recovery clear data factory reset and cache on stock recovery
then apply root update.zip (file you need to root ur phone)
next open cwm clear data and cache again
after that install hyperion then donot reboot and donot apply any update (must be later after succes install)
clear data and cache again in cwm
then reboot recovery clear data and cache again
then reboot wait for a while
thats my step and now im using hyperion smoothly

Link2SD and App2SD requires EXT3 partitioning on your SD card so you can have an extension of your phone memory on your SD card.
Swapper does the same, you need a nameless partition that your phone can put swap files into so as to reduce RAM usage.
Chainfire 3d requires plugins to properly function. It may be installed but not functional due to the fact that you may not have installed any plugins.
So link2sd ad swapper requires partitioning (theres a guide for that) and chainfire 3d requires plugins (google it)

it also happened to my SGY,
This is what I did - (hope this will help)
1. Flash your SGY to baseband DXLF1/DXLF2 via odin
2. Root it.
3. Reboot to Recovery Mode --> do data reset at wipe cache (2x each)
4. Flash Hyperion via CWM
5. After installation, still in CWM go to advance --> reboot recovery --> then flash kernel via CWM
6. After kernel installs, do data reset, wipe cache 2x AGAIN, then --> go to advance --> wipe dalvik 2x also
7. Then REBOOT (wait 2-4mins until cellphone fully starts)

okay so i have rooted my p700, installed CWM, and flashed cm10... after that i rebooted my phone (i needed to in order to get link2sd to recognize my external sd), after that the CM went into a bootloop!! which got me very angry (considering it came at a very bad time)... so i reflashed it a number of times even tried older builds...still all i get is a hot processor and a bootloop....i have gone through so many forums, scavenged the whole internet for methods on fixing it but still no luck...anybody have anyway of fixing this? and one more thing after i formated my sd (trying to make partitions for link2sd i lost my backup )
try download latest CM10 and reflash it . Make sure follow the steps correctly
How to Install::
Download the ROM
Put it on your phone root
Reboot In Recovery(MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANYTHING!)
Wipe Data/Cache,Wipe Cache,Wipe Dalvik Cache(Which you can find in Advanced)
Select Install ZIP from SDCard
Select the ROM and let it install, then also Install GAPPS.
