[Q] L7 Cyanogenmod10 BOOTLOOP - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

okay so i have rooted my p700, installed CWM, and flashed cm10... after that i rebooted my phone (i needed to in order to get link2sd to recognize my external sd), after that the CM went into a bootloop!! which got me very angry (considering it came at a very bad time)... so i reflashed it a number of times even tried older builds...still all i get is a hot processor and a bootloop....i have gone through so many forums, scavenged the whole internet for methods on fixing it but still no luck...anybody have anyway of fixing this? and one more thing after i formated my sd (trying to make partitions for link2sd i lost my backup )

try download latest CM10 and reflash it . Make sure follow the steps correctly
How to Install::
Download the ROM
Put it on your phone root
Reboot In Recovery(MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANYTHING!)
Wipe Data/Cache,Wipe Cache,Wipe Dalvik Cache(Which you can find in Advanced)
Select Install ZIP from SDCard
Select the ROM and let it install, then also Install GAPPS.

[Q] OK, so maybe I'm missing something (WildPuzzle)

So i have my HTC Wildfire, which i find to be sluggish as hell. I decided i would put WildPuzzle on it to see if that was better. I have rooted the phone, made the nandroid backup, done factory reset and installed the rom.
When i boot the phone i get the purple circle boot screen but the phone will not load any further. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and overcome it?
Please dont be too harsh as I am Still new to this hacking business.

How long did you wait for it to boot?. First boot can take upto 10-12 mins.
try wiping and reflashing again. The first boot can take about 10 min. And secondly post this in the right section, this does not relate to android development
Sorry i put this in the wrong section. I left it overnight, and it still didn't work. Today I put on Cyanogen but that came up with the same problem.
Any ideas?
Yea you have to wipe first!
I can garantue you that you havent wiped

Ok, so
1. Root Phone
2. Run Nandroid backup
3. Use wipe data/factory reset
4. install zip from sdc
5. choose zip from sdc
6. select 0001 wildpuzzlerom etc etc...
7. wait for install and reboot system
I've tried it multiple times and nothing happens. There must be something I'm missing
Thanks for the reply though

maybe you missed at this point: wipe cache partition
you can do further: advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cacke
4. install zip from sdc
5. choose zip from sdc
6. select 0001 wildpuzzlerom etc etc...
7. wait for install and reboot system
anyway you can restart from point 3. many times as you want
try it.

I wouldn't recommend you to choose more than one here without a reboot first. (Ie , do 0001 first , boot up , then into recovery again and add kernel or whetever , one package , and reboot.) Then after you get it booting and have all packages installed let it boot and 'cool down' for like 5 mins , then reboot again.
Also pay attention to any instructions regarding the packages you install.

[Q] Typhoon Mod Question

Hello,
I have an hd2 US 1024 rom version with the newest imei 35777.... I had a later version of Typhoon mod installed on my phone and installed the newest version and now my google account keeps connecting and disconnecting.
I'm not a complete noob, but I don't want to brick this phone so I'd rather ask and be safe.
What do I have to wipe out via recovery to get this issue to stop and should I reinstall the latest Radio again?
Thanks to who ever answers me without picking on me.
per hyperdroid's instructions:
1- Boot into MAGLDR (Power On and HOLD the Power Button till MAGLDR options are shown)
2- Boot into AD SD or AD Recovery to enter CWM Recovery Mode
If coming from another ROM, do a Nandroid Backup (just to be sure)
3- Wipe data
4- Wipe cache
5- Wipe Dalvik Cache
6- Go to mounts and storage and mount sdcard
7- Copy the ZIP you downloaded to your sdcard and unmount
8- Select install zip from sdcard
9- Find the .zip and install
10- Reboot and remove Phone from USB
(i put the rom on the sd card before all that and skip steps 6 and 7)
also, to be hardcore (i did this once when things were freaking out...) flash toWM and wipe your sd card.
but steps 3-5 are most important.
cheers.
I used the thank you button.
Actually I spoke to soon. That didn't work. I had to follow these instructions.
Clean Install:
1. Task 29
2. Flash Radio(2.15 Recommended)
3. MAGLDR 1.13
4. ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 135M System/44M Cache/Recovery v3.0.1.4
5. Install TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 .zip with CWM
6. (Optional) Install any optional CWM .zip files
I still appreciate the help though none the less.
my apologies, i misread - didn't see you wanted to reflash the radio. once you task 29, you definitely are starting from the beginning!
glad it is working.
No problem, it just kept having issues with google where it was signing in and out for some reason until they " Google " finally blocked it to stop it from bouncing. Then it would throw an error talking about having issues signing in to my Google account.
I actually had to low level format my sd card as well. I went to copy over the newest typhoon rom file to it after doing a quick format on the sd card, and it would stop the file transfer about 3/4s of the way through every time even after redownloading it etc. etc..
I did the low level format. That took about an hour or more. Moved the ROM file right over without a hitch after that. It must have had chunks of files showing still from to many quick formats on the sd card.
Then I started completely over again from step one and now my battery seems to be lasting allot longer and the issue with Google signing in has stopped.
same here; better performance with a clean slate.
ghosts in the hardware or some such thing. enjoy!

[Q] HELP!!! Spent lot time but still Unable to flash HYPERION rom

Downloaded HYPERION Final Build 6, flashed to my SGY(stock rom and kernel:S5360_DXLF2_OLBLG1_DXLF1) using CWM with success and then choose to reboot the system but stuck in boot screen.
I leave my phone and waited for several minutes but still no joy. Used Odin 3.65 to recover the system and restore the stock rom and then flash again the HYPERION ROM but still no luck.
Please help guys....
If you get stuck at the logo screen try using a different compilation of CMW.
If you meet bootloop try wiping cache and Dalvik cache.

There's oneby skins and one by madteam. Search and you'll find it. Btw, flash to stock rom using Odin (if you're on a custom rom) before flashing hyperion.

after flashing DXLF1, try flashing EVO-X2.1 first then Hyperion (that's what I did). I used Merruk's CWM it has a much cleaner interface. :3
first flash stock dxlf
then if youre succesfull go to stock rom home screen
reboot recovery clear data factory reset and cache on stock recovery
then apply root update.zip (file you need to root ur phone)
next open cwm clear data and cache again
after that install hyperion then donot reboot and donot apply any update (must be later after succes install)
clear data and cache again in cwm
then reboot recovery clear data and cache again
then reboot wait for a while
thats my step and now im using hyperion smoothly

Link2SD and App2SD requires EXT3 partitioning on your SD card so you can have an extension of your phone memory on your SD card.
Swapper does the same, you need a nameless partition that your phone can put swap files into so as to reduce RAM usage.
Chainfire 3d requires plugins to properly function. It may be installed but not functional due to the fact that you may not have installed any plugins.
So link2sd ad swapper requires partitioning (theres a guide for that) and chainfire 3d requires plugins (google it)

it also happened to my SGY,
This is what I did - (hope this will help)
1. Flash your SGY to baseband DXLF1/DXLF2 via odin
2. Root it.
3. Reboot to Recovery Mode --> do data reset at wipe cache (2x each)
4. Flash Hyperion via CWM
5. After installation, still in CWM go to advance --> reboot recovery --> then flash kernel via CWM
6. After kernel installs, do data reset, wipe cache 2x AGAIN, then --> go to advance --> wipe dalvik 2x also
7. Then REBOOT (wait 2-4mins until cellphone fully starts)

Tryed to install CM11 and now its boot loop

Hey all, i tried to update my cm10 to cm11, i add the file (cm11) to the phone then i went to recovery mode and installed, i had an error when, i tried to reboot my s3, then the galaxy screen was looping like 3 times and goes to recovery screen again, i cant add other version of cm or files in the phone. actualy i cant do anything... what i am trying to do now is put the cm10 but i have no idea how... i am using mac.. but having a pc computer at home.... please someone can help ?
thanks in advence.
Download stock rom and flash it with odin.
Use google.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
or you can just download another rom (I actually use SlimRom 4.3. It's really nice BTW)
download the rom, put it on external sd card. Go to recovery and
1) wipe data/factory reset
2) wipe cache
3) go to mount then format system
4) go to Advanced then format dalvik cache
5) go to install then external sd card and browse to your rom
6) Enjoy
I had issues with updating from CM10.2 to CM11 however I never got to the stage it got stuck in a bootloop although this could be due to new permissions that CM11 require. Ensure you have the latest ClockworkMod installed as that should install it correctly. I also suggest doing a wipe after installation as well as using PA Gapps if you want to used any system google apps.

[Q] Installing Cyanoid v11 on LG Optimus L3 E400

Hi. I attempted this installation this morning. I was able to install CWM Recovery using ROM Manager. I then installed the latest Build found in this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459171. The installation proceeded as shown in the video, but when I reboot the phone after installation, I see the LG logo, and then the word ANDROID on the screen and nothing further. I can still get into CWM recovery by pressing Menu, Vol - and the power button, but the phone does not boot past the ANDROID screen. I ran the installation a second time, but the same result. Can anyone help?

I assume you are coming from stock rom as you just installed CWM, so make sure you are using the STANDARD version, from the cyanoid page and follow this :
boot to recovery
go to mounts and storage
mount usb
this will allow you to move the correct version of the rom to the sd card, if it is not already,
when finished putting the rom on the sd card, unmount usb
now go back to the main menu
wipe data factory reset
wipe cache
go to advanced
wipe dalvik
go back
go to mounts and storage
format system
go back to main menu
install zip from sd card
choose zip from sd card
go to the rom you put on the card
select yes to continue
wait for finish
reboot
If it gets stuck again pull out the battery, wait a few seconds, put it back in, boot to recovery and do everything from install zip from sd card again and see what happens
let me know if it works or not or if your cwm recovery options vary from those i listed and i can help further

Hi linuxxxx
Sorry, I can't post in the Cyanoid ROM thread, I don't have enough posts on this site, so it is not allowed. I was able to get this to work though following bluerichblue's advice above. There is one remaining issue. I cannot enter any APN settings. When I enter those, and select the save option, nothing is saved and the system returns to a blank APN list screen. You previously suggested that this may be a problem with the SIM? However, I have used different SIMs with the same result. Also, while my LG Optimus L3 was running on the Stock Rom, this function worked and I was able to setup APNs. Can you help?
