I just find it odd that its only one specific section dead without any obvious damage... Something similar happened to my old Atrix, dead section of the screen. My dad dropped it in a cup of water and then gave me the phone . I guess you could give that a shot, although I think if a connector was loose it would have more issues than that little spot. Next step after that is RMA I guess.

Have I got a bad device

I got my nexus 7 today only started using it past 30 mins as I've been in work the screen looks good doesn't look washed out but does t look as good as my nexus s doesn't bother me one thing that does tho is when I press on left side of screen it makes some sort of click but I can't see the screen lifted or anything as people have said.... no distorted mic too

That is an extremely difficult read since you didn't use any punctuation. If you don't feel comfortable opening the device up to check the screws then RMA it.
Really sorry , easier when I use my PC first post from my nexus 7. The clicking went but I found out its the selotape that they cover the board with so it is the sponge as some people have said. I tightened the screws and screen feels the same as my right side now

Sounds like the device is fine to me. If you're not having any problems then you're good.

Sudden screen creak?

Hey, has anyone else had a problem where, after weeks of a seemingly flawless n7, it starts to creak ? For me its when I put a bit of pressure on the right side of the screen and release.. its barely concerning, and after 3 rmas already I'm not sure if they'd let me do another, but do you think I should try? I definitely do not feel like opening up and fixing it by adjusting screws.. but A what if I get a defective one and B what if after so many Google says no :S thoughts ?

Gap between top bezel and glass

Is this the way the phone is supposed to be? There's a small gap between the top part of the bezel where it meets the glass. I try to keep my phone clean all the time but there are quite a few lint pieces and grime stuck in that gap. The bottom of the phone is tight. Never dropped it. It is an RMA

I think you can snap it back. Press it gently and it'll close.

Tried pressing on it. Didn't work. Thanks though

As you can see the bottom is tight with no gap. The top has a big enough gap for dirt and debris and no way to get it out.

Definitely not normal, you should probably RMA again if you can't fix it by simple means like the one posted above

I have no gap on the top or bottom, and neither do any of the 5 others I know with N4s so yeah, RMA.
send that gaping gap back, son!
...before you get tiny creature eggs in them
Called google play customer service and started the RMA process. Thanks guys

Not going well with my RMA. This was customer service response :
"Thanks for contacting Google. The*specialists*has informed me that the*gaps are to allow for expansion of the glass due to varying temperature and is an intended part of the design.
If you have any*further*questions please feel free to*respond*to this email."
Can some of you guys take some photos of your phones so I can send this robot? Any other suggestions?

Dude, I think even with photos, you would be hard pressed to change their mind. Cosmetic faults are always put down as subjective and not worthy of replacement. You should have told them that you were experiencing some technical fault i.e. frequent dropped calls.
If you aren't successful this time round, RMA it again with such an excuse...

I have the same issue but my gaps are much bigger and go throughout the whole screen. Dust and stuff goes in it. The front camera has a dark overlay whenever i use it due to all the dust that has gotten in there. I would RMA it but i bought it off a friend and im not sure if they want to accept it.
Here is a picture of a white door that i took outside using the front camera.
http://alienroms.com/IMG_20130502_194637.jpg
Its very dark and it has a weird dark overlay at the top.

Never seen this before...

So there's a strip going across my screen right where you would press to unlock it or where the middle row of keys is on the keyboard where the touch recognition has just stopped working...
The rest of the screen and phone work absolutely perfect except for this thin strip on the screen.
Any one ever seen this before where a certain point of the screen stops working ?
I take great care of my phone and I had used it to txt literally a minute earlier put it on the table and when a reply text came through I picked the phone up and this problem was there.
Factory reset didn't solve the issue so it's gotta be hardware. It's on its way for repair now.

Factory reset only resets your settings, if part of your Kernel or ROM corrupted itself then a factory reset would do nothing to fix the issue, try re-flashing stock or whatever you use.
I am afraid you're going to rma. Seems like mulfuctioning digitizer.

[Q] Will Google RMA if screen was replaced?

I replaced my screen. And now I am experiencing problems with battery life, and in need of an RMA. My question is how closely does Google look at the device that are shipped back, will they notice that the screen was replaced? I also forgot to put back the blue tab that was connecting the battery and holding the antenna down in place. Will they take the phone apart and find out I had disasebmled it? Also there is a small gap at the bottom between the bezel and the left screw. I think its due to one of the clips not connecting correctly. I could probably fix all those things but I lost my T6 screw driver, so should I worry about any of those things?

Not sure how picky Google is, but I sent a MyTouch slide into T-Mobile with the screen replaced, they noticed. I have no idea how, I put it all back together. I also recently sent my Nexus 4 in to Asurion for a replacement, the screen went wacky and I opened it to see if it was a loose connection. They didn't notice that.
Honestly you won't know until you try.
