My GSM provider need to insert in MMS settings also a port number which is not present in the original qtek software (there is no option for inserting a port number).
Now I can't use the MMS (it doesn't work).
Do someone know the solution?
Thanks for the answer,
Urosh
Port number
You insert the port number just like you do in a web browser:
http://192.168.12.145:8002
The port number is seperated from the address by a colon.
Regards
Michael
I have tried
I've tried what you say, but it didn't work.
I spoke with my provider and they said if someone from other providers can submit me their settings and they will then try to understand how to make it working for them.
Could you please send me your settings?
Thanks,
Urosh
Subject: MMS Fix Cab (Where is it) Link Broken
Hello Forum Admin: I have a new device which operates on wm5 and I am having immence problems getting the mms feature to work. I have contacted my carrier (Telstra) Australia wireless support area and they have given me the correct settings and it still doesn't fix the probelm. It looks like it is sending with the % going right to 90 somethng % the I get a message
"Not all messages could be sent or received. To try again, press Menu, and then press send/receive."
I then go do that and it just repeats what just happened and I get that message again.
Will that MMS fix correct this problem?
Can you either send me the Cab file or give me a working link?
I use to rely on mms for my job... and I need to get it up and running again. I heard that this is a wm5 arcsoft fault, is this the case?
My new ppc is not an i-mate xda anymore is it possible for you to still help me get this working seeing that the support area for my device is totally sh..t. My Deive is Mio a701. I have looked at support forums for this device and several people have the same problem but no-one can offer a fix and from my experience, YOU GUYS ARE AWSOME!!!
Please help fix my MMS.

download, unrar the 2 files and copy unto your vougue, run from vogue, for the input put in your ESN with the letters in capital, then the result in output is the MSL

Unfortunately it didn't work on my Telus HTC Touch I was so hopeful, too.
Scratch that! It works as long as you enter the Hex value of your ESN, rather than the DEC value. Great utility!!!
Call sprint (*2), at the menu, ask for vision / data. That should get you straight to a tech, not a cust service rep. Tell them you have error 67 (vision username / password error) and error 1012 (error while provisioning vision services). They will tell you to go into the programming menu (##3282#) and then they will give you another number to enter. That is you MSL number. It is as easy as that. Seriously. I just called in on these errors ( I am actually getting these errors) and the tech walked me through what to do. In doing so, they will give you your MSL number. Try it. NOthing to loose right?

I am currently using an HTC Touch and trying to change network from Orange to Virgin Mobile. I am able to call but unable to send text messages for some reason. Can anyone help me out? Every attempt of sending a text message returns the message: "Your text message cannot be sent."
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
OK,
Try this..
Start/Settings/Phone/
Select the Services Tab
You should see a Voice Mail And Text Messages option and a button lower down marked "Get Settings"
Select or highlight the Voice Mail and Text Messages option and then Press the "Get Settings" button.
After reading the services from the network you should see two numbers listed one for voicemail and one for Text messages.
The text message service centre for Virgin is: +447958879890
If your phone has not picked this up from your SIM card..enter it yourself.
That should be it.
Incidentally, the phone usually gets all these setting when you boot the device fresh or after a hard reset...or at least it does with an unlocked phone. Not sure if you phone is locked to Orange or not.
By the way, the Orange SMS service center numbers are:
+447973100973
Alt: +447973100974
So you can check and see if you still have one of those.
Just done this but nothing's changed...
Still unable to send a text message. My phone is unlocked.
If it helps, my MMS Settings are:
Server Name: Default
Gateway: 63.73.9.22
Port Number: 9201
Sever Address: http://vxpix.com/servlets/mms
Connect Via: Orange World
Send Limit: 300K
WAP Version: WAP 1.2
SMS or text messages are not effected by MMS settings. BTW are you trying to send an SMS or a MMS?
I did notice your MMS settings are wrong for Virgin UK anyway.
Virgin MMS settings can be found here:
http://www.filesaveas.com/mms.html
Note: Virgin must enable MMS for your account. Contact Virgin Customer Services
Access Point Name: goto.virginmobile.uk
Username: user
Password: (leave blank)
Authentication: Normal
Data bearer: GPRS
Gateway IP (proxy) address: 193.030.166.001
Port: 8080
Session mode: Permanent
MMS Message (Relay) Server URL http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002
You're going to have to change you network settings too as you are still using Connect VIA Orange, and i presume that these have not been changed.
In all honesty, the best way might be to hard reset the phone and then boot up fresh with your Virgin Sim card installed. The HTC software will auto load the Virgin MMS, SMS and Network settings automatically. (Although having written that, if you phone is an unlocked Orange phone them I'm not sure it will).
If that's not really an option for you then post back.
I am not trying to send an MMS, just an SMS. I would preferably like to not hard reset; is there nothing else I can do?
mmm sorry you have exhausted my knowledge in this area.
I would have thought that if the service center is input correctly in the services area then the phone should be able to send an SMS. What number is displayed?
You might like to give Virgin a call and make sure that the service center number is till the same.
A quick Google on the subject has suggested a faulty SIM card as the phone is supposed to pick SMS numbers up automatically from the SIM card.
Sorry can't help much more from this end...good luck.
I happen to have two Virgin SIMs and both pose the same problem. I will try a hard reset and hope that works. The device was originally locked to Orange before it was unlocked. I was able to pick up the correct service centre for Virgin: +447958879890 but still had the same problem.
Thank you very much for your help anyway.
Playing around with the settings I managed to sort it out.
I simply changed the SMS settings in Settings/Connections to GSM rather than GPRS and seemed to work!
Thank you gadgetwizard for your help and I apologise if I have wasted your time.
You were not wasting my time at all...glad you got it sorted out.
