My GSM provider need to insert in MMS settings also a port number which is not present in the original qtek software (there is no option for inserting a port number).
Now I can't use the MMS (it doesn't work).
Do someone know the solution?
Thanks for the answer,
Urosh
Port number
You insert the port number just like you do in a web browser:
http://192.168.12.145:8002
The port number is seperated from the address by a colon.
Regards
Michael
I have tried
I've tried what you say, but it didn't work.
I spoke with my provider and they said if someone from other providers can submit me their settings and they will then try to understand how to make it working for them.
Could you please send me your settings?
Thanks,
Urosh

It appears this nice device (or at least all of WM5 devices) are not yet enough considered from SP as I cannot find any setup and/or settings for MMS and WEB connection settings anywhere...
www.clubimate.com only supply any kind of settings for any other SP but VODAFONE ITALY...
Their support (I-Mate) is also not present (I even tried calling them while in Dubai with no luck).
At VODAFONE Customer Service there are only chances to use the automated answering system or the website and again no one of them considers WM5 devices...
ANY HINT ???
With manual settings I entered I can do MMS -OR- WEB but I cannot get it configured to "automagically" use one of the two when needed. I always have to manually switch between them... :-(
Again: ANY HINT ???
Thanks a lot.
Hi Michele,
I am Italian too. Why do you switch them manually? In Connections/Advanced, the default connection should be not be the MMS one, but the internet one (APN: web.omnitel.it). The one used for MMS will be defined here but NOT selected as default. This needs to be indicated in MMS configuration in the Messaging application.
The problem that I have (with a Worldwide English K-Jam) is that I just can't make MMS work. I have tried all settings based on Vodafone Italy indications, but no joy.
Would you tell me your detailed settings to make it work?
Thanks.
Massimo
..
Thanks for this!
This is however not suitable for me, as I live in two countries (UK and Italy), and I do not want to hard reset just to fix my Italian MMS settings.
Would you be able to just give me your Voda IT MMS settings?
What I have done is:
1) Created a new connection with APN = mms.vodafone.it (everything else is default)
2) Created a new set of MMS settings in the MMS application, with:
Gateway = 10.128.224.10
Server = http://mms.vodafone.it/servlets/mms
Port number = 80
Connect via = the above created connection
WAP version = with this I am unsure, I tried both settings, but no joy.
With these settings, the phone tries to send or retrieve MMS's, correctly connecting to the APN and exchanging data. However I always get a vague error message in the end.
Can you let me know what you have done differently?
Thanks.
..
Many thanks for this!
I modified the config based on your comments. At a later stage I also went into the registry and manually modified some settings that looked different in your list. Still no joy!!!
I am particularly puzzled by the Profile parameter, pointing to an XML file in a website. You claim this is very important. The default one points to a different XML file.
Question: how would the messaging application use this info? I mean, it is not possible to go out to the web using the MMS APN, so how is this Profile URL used?
I also tried to soft reset after changing that, still no joy....
..
..
Thanks for your great help.
Just to clarify, I normally live in the UK, but in this period I am in Italy, this is why I am configuring MMS on my Italian SIM card from Vodafone Italy.
And I've got very good news: everything now works!
I am not really sure how, I simply reset everything back to my original config, doing a few soft resets in between, and now I can send and receive MMS's.
By the way, that IP must only be used in the Gateway field in MMS configuration. Using it as the IP in the connection panel makes it impossible for the phone to connect to the APN (which is logical).
Again thanks for your help.
I've searched the forum but I've been unable to find the CAB file which will install all this for me. Otherwise can anyone tell me the manual setup especially for MMS as it won't work with the settings I've input. This is just because I've put the Qtek ROM on the device.
It may be out of date but you could try
http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
I think this will work..
Try it.. This was originally found after a look using the Search function. I think I put "mms AND setting AND cab"..
t-mobile gprs settings
APN - general.t-mobile.co.uk
number - *99#
username - user
password - pass
I have updated the tmobile rom using the K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship.exe rom. Everything seems ok apart from the fact that i can send mms messages
I am using the setup for tmobile connections and the internet works fine. When i click send for mms it automatically states that unable to send your messages your message will remain in the outbox!
any ideas?? Thanks in advance
you need to setup mms configuration, search for MMS settings.
sorry i dont know the settings but they are available on the forum.
good luck
R
rob thanks for the reply.

connects via: My Work Network
sending size limitation: 100k
WAP version: WAP 1.2
still not working, dowsnt even seem to attempt to connect automatically comes up with the unable to message!!!
You dont say your location but my uk settings are
Server name: T-Mobile UK
Gateway: 149.254.201.135
Port No: 8080
Server address:http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002/
Connect via: T-Mobile Internet
Sending size: 100k
Wap version: 2.0
They are the bog standard settings preloaded
Hope this helps
i'm on O2 paygo and have to use the wap network to get my mms to work, this maybe different for tmobile.
there may be some cab files on the ftp to help get the settings working.
i've just upgraded my rom so need to do this myself but for O2.
good luck if you find a solution please post it to help other tmob users
regards
Rob

i've had same problem few days ago, despite i didn't change anything ins MMS settings. i've had to reenter and confirm the same settings again and it just started work fine.
glad u got it sorted
I can again no longer send mms. I have reverted to a previous backup i had and can no longer send mms. I checked all my settings and they were as above - the settings that worked previously - I have definately got The Internet selected for connecttion. I have also tried demoniks settings for tmobile and stil no joy! the strange thing is i can receive messages just cant send any! Any ideas woudl be greatly appreciated!
may not be relevant but a recent Atom ROM upgrade messed up MMS sending but only
if you insert the contact, if you manually type the number to send to it works.
cheers mate for the response. I tried that but i still get the unable to send error! This is the most buggy phone i have ever had! It is a really good phone but appears to have so many issues!! Its a full time job trying to get fixes for it! I have three issues at present:-
1) No sound when SMS is received
2) Wont turn on at certain times
3) MMS wont send
does anyone have a handset anda build with no bugs?????
Anyone else having any?
Mine so far are:
People can't phone me (they say that the no comes back as out of service?)
I can't phone people
Voicemail msgs come through an hour (minimum) after they've been left
Can't send text msgs to any number but, can reply when someone sends me one?!
Can't send mms msgs at all (settings are correct)
All of which is becoming very annoying due to my "phones" inability to be a phone - Anyway is anyone else experiencing the above problems, or know of any fixes.
Thanks in advance
I am also running the new T-Mobile rom and have none of the problems you have...
T-mobile UK - AKU
I'm running their latest rom and it is a great improvement over their last rom.
I'm having no such problems.
Charlie Grillo
no problemns here either
I had the SAME problems when I upgraded to the T-Mobile NL ROM.
No one replied when I asked for configuration details
..but I can tell you that it is very simple. You will have to correctly configure all of your service settings such as Voice Mail & Text Service Centers (Settings > Phone > Services, Click "Get Settings" and change them to the proper service numbers).
That is all.
I ended up having to call Cingular to ask them for the numbers
It appears that apparently, the latest T-Mobile ROMs did not provide plug-n-play type auto-configuration which all of the other ROMs I have tried provided.
Had problems with the T-Mobile NL ROM. Would only receive absolutely tiny pictures on MMS. Pictures of any descent size got a message that the phone wasnt capable of receiving them. Went back to the corporate install of the latest O2 ROM.
The phone problem is "less intermittent" but the voicemail problem is still there :x
As for the MMS I'm about to throw the poxy thing - have tried various different websites (and T-Mobile) but to no avail
Have currently got MMS configured as:
Server Name: T-Mobile UK
Gateway: 149.254.201.132
Port Number: 8080
Server address: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002
Connect Via: T-Mobile Internet
Wap Version: WAP 2.0
Can anyone kindly post up their settings (that work)
thanks
my gateway is 149.254.201.135
i've been having problems where it takes loads of attempts before finally downloading the message.

Hi Guys!
If you can send/receive MMSes can you please tell how to send one?
What should I have in my menus? And why I can see all those settings but can't send?
Cheers Guys!
Ok, what I've tried next:
1. checking MMS settings (yes, they are in MENU)
2. taking a picture and tried to send this picture as a MMS (didn't work twice, Exec has just hang)
3. found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=261852&highlight=o2+settings and tried to applay those settings one more time. No joy...
Strange thing is that I don't have MMS folder but I do have MMS settings
Any other ideas? I really need MMSes (like never before, I'm heavy user but just calls and GPRS/WIFi- no texts (10-20/mth) or MMSes (5 in my whole life or even less)
Cheers
Chris

I'm so sorry for all those stupid grammatical mistakes I was sooo tiered last night and really fed up with MS and their ideas how to improve our lives...
T-Mobile MMS Settings?
Originally, I wrote:
I have a similar problem with my Jasjar and T-Mobile (USA): MMS messages just sit there, and occasionally I get a notification that they couldn't be sent...? My Jasjar was purchased independently and is unlocked. Is there some T-Mobile USA file I need to upload to the device? And can I do it via my Mac and Missing Sync?

Well, I uploaded a T-Mobile settings file which I had downloaded from i-mate, et voilá! I was able to send MMSes. It also (when I choose to disconnect from the GPRS network) restored the G-in-a-square that had become dashed two-way arrows. Unfortunately, there's still something interfering with syncing with my Mac via Missing Sync for Windows Mobile.... Thanks! Cheers,
Has either one of you tried to contact your provider and actually ask them to help you with the settings? I mean really, CALL customer service and have them either walk you through it, or get the settings and we'll help you input them if it comes to that.
Hi,
No, I havn't. The reason is that I do have:
- VGA hack (OZ)
- load of programs (which shouldn't affect anyway MMS as they are not affecting emails and texts)
- I've done full backup + restore using SPB backup tool (from older ROM to newer, as my phone went for service)
Now I going to do hard reset.
I just have to create list of installed programs, prepare them etc.
I've even installed windows
Anyway, it looks like something is going on with MMSes...
Cheers
Chris
None of the things you mentioned can be used as an excuse for not calling your provider of the settings:
a. OzVGA has a nice little button which will allow you to boot in normal mode.
b. Nothing to do with MMS
c. That might be a problem altogether, it's generally not recommended restoring on newer ROM.

Oh, yeah,
I do agree. As I've said only my backup could mess up with settings...
Will try to call O2 HD tomorrow
Thanks for your advice!

Yeah...no joy. Doesn't work, and they don't know why. Cheers,
