Ok so almost everybody has the new phone by now, the extra 10 dollars for the "4G" are real or not?
umm yes... and for me it has nothing to do with 4G... it has everything to do with UNLIMITED internet...
The radioshack guy told me that the $10 is gonna apply to all the lines. Sounds fishy but I didn't argue back. I've heard of the $10 added to line with the evo but why to all the lines? One of my lines isn't even a smartphone.

they can't charge you $10 on a line that isn't an Evo. He must be mistaken.
uhmmm, there has to be a workaround for this man!
Yeah the $10 is for all evo phones and sprints explanation was that the evo is an internet enriched device and will result in additional internet use, thus the charge.

lol, r u for real, come on man if you have nothing good to say then don't say anything. Payaso!
I don't get it with the $10 complaint. You are still $30 cheaper than most. Deal with it. There is no way around it. Don't look for it. Unless you can make your phone report back to sprint that's its a cheap flip phone then no dice.

Is not a complain, is just a simple question, and YES, there's a workaround if you go to the Sprint Store to buy yours, they can give you and extra monthly discount of up to $20 on top of your employee discount if you have one.
One more time: I'M NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PHONE OR THE PLAN, i was asking a simple question here.

are you sure about that? i'm trying to get family plan 4 lines and with discount (23%) it comes to $150, so you're saying they'll low it to $130 if i buy from Sprint store?

I know they can do it, but you have to ask nicely lol, i'm not saying they WILL do it, every customer is diferent, but i know that they can do whatever they want with your account, last year i had data unlimited for about 4 month in one of my 3 lines until i derided to upgrade plans.

I had no idea that stating the obvious was flaming. Noted.
Edit: And the $20 discount is gone, that was a retention offer, and the RET1024 is gone as well. Sprint is not allowing a discount specifically for the Premium Data service. If you ask for it in conjunction with the PD, you will not get it.

It is flaming simply because the OP was just asking a question and you lashed out at him...

I'm gonna guess that I was the only person who read that thread. It wasn't even directed at the OP. It was directed at the person who responded to the OP. All in all, flaming is flaming, I get it. I took this week off work so I wouldn't have to put up with all the "gimmie" customers, and it just bothers me when people give out incorrect information and we have to clean it up. If that's a flame, then so be it.

Well, if you feel that the information being given out is incorrect, a simple "That is not true. In reality, things are "x", "y", or "z"." This works much better, conveys the same message, and saves you from being rude to the person you are talking to (which in turn saves you from breaking Rule 2 of this site).
I don't mean to be harsh on you and I understand your position. But if you feel that something is incorrect, let's just say that being courteous goes a long way.
I on a everything family data plan and they didn't even mention anything about the extra 10 dallors.
I created a website dedicated to seeking out one question from Sprint, "Can you explain the fee?"
Check out their answers to my question @ explainthefee.com
You'll be surprised..

And i'm gonna guess that i'm the only "gimmie" customer that will root the phone and try to avoid the $29.99/month or so for mobile hotspot just because it would be nice. And regarding the "incorrect information" please i know by fact, than the 95% of the people working in phone sales don't know anything about the product they are selling, they just try to sell base in a meeting (training) received. I guess you are in the other 5%, congratulations then.
Las time i went to a sprint store was because i want to change my number, so i did it but the could not reprogram the phone because "the phone had a custom software on it ( the dialer) " they toke it to the technicians and nothing, so i went home and did it by my self. By the way, it was not a 3rd party dialer, i just went to the registry and activate the dialer skin WINMO has. but once again, thank God you are in the other 5%.

I have a question regarding Verizon Total Equipment Protection Plan.
So i bought a nexus from the verizon store, and when i bought it i added the verizon TEP plan for it.
Now if i activate another phone(say a razr maxx) on my line, will the TEP plan still stay for this new phone?

At least on T-Mobile the plan is attached to the SIM (and phone, number).
I would call and ask if, it's attached to the, phone, number or to the ESN (and the device itself)

thank you, i will do that.
If you are changing your phone its most likely that you will want to call and make sure. Generally any protection plan is only associated with the product its suppose to cover.
It would be nice if it is tied in to the account. I've looked at their TEP plans it they seem to be the same price as long as its a smart phone and the deductible is $100 per device.
*Mods please forgive me if this is the wrong section for this*
Ok so I took advantage of Sprint changing my corporate discount rate in February to get out of my contract *see Materially Adverse Changes section of Sprint contract* ETF free. I spoke with a rep and at first she was resistant, but eventually gave in when I quoted their own contract to her. She assured me that my ETF fees were waived and that all I would pay is my last bill that was due. Got my statement from them a few days ago and surprise surprise the ETF fee was in-fact included in the total amount due. I spoke with a rep and this rep stated that the previous rep I spoke to had no authority to make that decision and that since it had been past 30 days of the change of rates they wouldn't/couldn't waive the fees even though I called originally within 10 days of the change. What is my next step? I don't have the funds to pay off the ETF nor do I believe I should have to. I have already paid what I owed them minus the ETF.
Thanks for the help,
DroidMahn

Sorry about that. Read the rules a few times, couldn't figure out where this was applicable.
Small claims court perhaps?
Maybe file a complaint?
Cancel any direct debit or standing order you have with them and then manually pay what you believe you should. After that they can argue the toss with you for the extra fee, but if you cancelled within 10 days into a 30 day cancellation period then they are in the wrong, despite what they might say. They would never let it get to court - they're just pushing their luck to see if you'll pay them, and are probably doing the exact same thing with thousands of other customers.
Do what Archer said and REMOVE ANY AND ALL CREDIT/DEBIT/BANK INFO. Then file a report with the FCC. The FCC will send them a letter and, they will have to respond, most likely by waiving your ETF.

They already have all that info. Can't really afford to cancel my bank account

You can call Sprint and, have them take that Info OFF OF YOUR ACCOUNT.
I did exactly that right before I canceled with Sprint in Oct 2011. I told them the accounts were closed and I didn't have the new info yet. (I, canceled sand ETF but I still had them remove my info just in case.

Im on the same boat as you. I originally called and complained about the change as i had just opened my account in January
And told them wtf! ! The rep said if i didn't like the increased bill i could get out etf free. So i got lucky and found someone on craigslist with 2 lines on Verizon with unlimited data they were giving up and i hopped right on it. Same day i took over liability and ported my numbers over from sprint. Then i called sprint and told them ok im done switching can you waive my etf fee? The rep tried to deny me but i told them look at the notes i already called about this and now its done. I am not paying you guys 800 in cancellation fees. She tracked down the rep that let me go etf free i think he got in trouble but i argued that i was right they have no right to charge me more than what i agreed to at signing. They gave me a claim number and told me that the etf fees would be removed within 3-5 days. I also sold my iphone that i bough from them for 199 on ebay for 475 lol. Verizon is a much better carrier here in los Angeles too. Sprint slows to a crawl at daytime down to like 200kbps while Verizon stays at least at 700 and 4g lte is bad ass.

They really, really want that ETF if they can get it. You should do what archer said, becuase they will back down and let you go with out ETF.
Bell you did it again, me thinking this month I could actually get a new phone (18 month upgrade)
Well, they breached my contract and now they're saying that I can get a new phone September NEXT YEAR
So i cancelled my phone and I am not paying my penalty ($600) I told them since they have breached my contract, I have a right to breach theirs by not paying the Penalty. What would happen if I just don't pay that $700 bill?
I am thinking of going with Wind Mobile, Unlimited Text, Call, Data for $50 a month, holy **** what a deal. Galaxy Nexus for $99 on a 3 year contract.
Is there any way to get out of paying my penalty?
Thanks.
The general thing that most companies do with unpaid bills is to send it off to collections. Its bad for your credit rating, very bad. You need to find the original documents they provided you when you signed the contract with them and look that over and find out what you actually agreed to. They very well may have said something like we reserve the right to decide when you can upgrade phones or whatever. In which case they would be within their rights.
Before you do anything rash like simply refuse the pay, do your homework, find out exactly what it was both parties agreed to.
Its possible that you got an unethical sales rep who was trying to corner you into signing a new contract now to get a new phone. Talking to another rep may resolve your issue.
Please try to keep topics in the "Atrix 4G General" section about the device itself. Thank you!
Just want to share my experience pre-ordering with ATT.
I usually signed a two year contract and upgrade my phone 1 year into the contract. Usually I have to call 611 a few times until I get an agent that would be willing to do an override.
Now those sales agent don't have the authorization to override anymore so they transferred me to Customer relations who can.
He immediately gave me an override and game me $50 off the 400 contract price. And also bumped up my data from 3 to 4GB, also waived activation fee. All in all I'm a happy camper. So it never hurts to ask. I've been with att for 5 years. I guess that counts for something
I ordered a white one. Now sitting in Texas. Can't wait until it arrives..
