[Q] HTC HD2 bricked? - HD2 General

Hello,
I got a htc hd2.
Unfortunately, this only starts to HTC logo.
've Already tried to flash again.:
with hspl : SPL-3.03.hspl,then Task 29. RadioRom 2.15 and the Artemis Rom uploaded.
runs through without error. HTC launches new but unfortunately still the same error.
I then return to the spl-3.03.000
and Stockrom RUU_Leo_S_HTC_GER_3.14.407.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship via usb (before, of course task29) uploaded.
runs through without error. HTC launches new but unfortunately still the same error.
Soft reset and hard reset did nothing.
It always starts only until htc logo.
In the bootloader with:
PB81100 SS-BC
SPL 3.03.0000 XE
MicroP (LED) 0x05
MicroP (Touch) 0x50
Someone nee idea what I can try to?
Thanks in advance

HD2 not bricked
See this thread, you may have to downgrade your SPL to 2.10

IMO it's not bricked (afaik it wouldn't start at all if bricked), but something on your MB is faulty.

that only applies to flashing Android, I think he's just trying to boot WM6.5

Sounds like your mainboard might be overheating. The ROM you are using sounds correct. Try putting the phone in the freezer for 5 minutes, then turn it on and see if it loads WM6.5 before freezing / restarting again, this would show that your mainboard is faulty.

hi and thanks for your help,
so now I have with MTTY task28, task 29, task 2a and info 8th performed.Since he has given bad blocks.
Then I uploaded the original ruu_leo_s_tmo_de_3.14.111.1_radio_15.42.50.11u_2.15.50.14_leo_s_ship via sdcard.
Had the phone for 20 minutes, then placed in the refrigerator and then started. again the same problem.

Might be.
You are 100% sure that is the correct stock ROM?

According to HTC and imeinr. it is a t-mobile cell phone.
He has made the installation of the Roman sdcard without fail.

That is so weird. I guess it's possible you have so many bad blocks that your nand is just not usable.
How about if you just run HSPL from the bootloader and flash a custom ROM or flash MAGLDR instead?

I had HSPL 3.03 and 2:08 also tried with a custom rom
Starts only until htc logo.
I had, after I had tried the stockrom via sdcard on it it with HSPL 2:08 task 29, Radio_rom_2_15_50_14
CLK_1_5_HBOOT flashed. Flashing worked without problems.
But the start is just a white screen.
Otherwise I would have just installed Android on SD card.
Can one save what?

yes exactly
it only goes to the logo

This doesn't make sense.
From HSPL, you flash task29 and it flashes successfully?
Then you go back into HSPL, and flash magldr, and that flashes successfully?
Then you reboot the phone, and it won't make it past the HTC logo?

yes i flashed from HSPL task 29 and it flashed successfully.
Then i go back in to HSPL and flash magldr successfully.
Then i reboot the phone and it starts magldr.
When you start the message is short (Nand kernel open failed)
and it starts in the menu
Then comes the next problem.
I have tried to set up the system environment with the ClockworkMod (to match the rom)
he seems to do well.
Resets but not by itself.
I've just made by hand.
Then I wanted to partition the sd card inserted.
So I went to AD Recovery menu.
There is then another error:
Android Load Raw
(K) 11808000:29 A650 (I) 12800000:136 A22 ......
Load Done

That sounds like a CWM error, not one you'd get just from entering the magldr menu.
As soon as it loads magldr, is there any menu with any choices?
Like flash magldr 1.13 and then does a menu ever come up?
Also, are you flashing HSPL 3.03 or 2.08? You should have 2.08

"NAND kernel open failed" appears when you try to "Boot AD NAND" from magldr without having a ROM installed.
MAGLDR's menu does show up, because that error is from selecting option #2 (or #1, I don't remember).
He needs now to flash a recovery using "5. USB Flasher", then flash a ROM using that recovery.

Wont boot and Tri-Color Screen

I have a Tmobile 1024 Leo. A year ago I put Android and WM on it. It was a dual boot, beacuse they had not done NAND yet. Well I dropped it and broke the screen. So it sat for a year untill I decided to to fix the screen. Now when you turn it on it will not go past the sticking together screen. I can boot it in to the tri-color screen and nothing else. I tried flashing it back to WM and it gets anywhere from 64-99% done, depending on what ROM I use, and then errors out. I tried to do it from the memory card and it will not go into the flash menu. Is this thing bricked? Do I need to have some one with a Riff Box make a go at it? Or am I missing something? If some one has ideas that would be AWESOME!
what does your bootloader say?
check out my thread, you can try the sd card method / task 29

maybe post error or a screenshot of it
maybe at the error are some hints.
then whats your bootloader version @tri color screen?
tried task29?
maybe installed a wrong HSPL/SPL version?
You should download the HD2 Nand Toolkit from Nand Development.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
Install it and do a Task29 Wipe. From there on you should check your Radio. Most of the time you need 2.15.50.14. Then install HARDSPL 2.08 and then you can flash whatever ROM you like. Check this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
Hope I could help!

I downloaded the tool kit like you recommended, and then did the task29 wipe. Then I tried to install the radio that you recomened. It installs to 96% done and then freezes. Not sure what to do next.
UPDATE:
Got MagLdr to install. When I push power then the volume button to get it to open, it brings up the MagLdr screen and then there are no options to use. But when it was flashing, the computer said error communicating with device, but the screen on the phone shows that it was at 100%.

Hi .... I had an hd2 for some time which got kept in the locker for too long..The status as of now is like this.
1. MIUI ROM installed on NAND doing bootloops
2. SD Card formatted .. so no recovery
3. Trying to use magldr usb storage disconnects the phone
4. Can get into the red yellow green screen with status showing usb but when i try to run a stock rom it cannot find the device.
Magldr 1.13 is still running and I have hspl 2.08
Is there any way i can get back the stock firmware installed? Any help will be appreciated. thanks!!

Have you tried flashing a stock ROM from the SD card? The procedure is outlined here, it doesn't seem too hard. Since you can't connect in MAGLDR use an SD card reader to copy the stuff across.
why no recovery; recovery in magldr 1.13 is stored in nand.So you can go magldr--->ad recovery and run recovery.then wipe all userdata and see if your rom starts again working ok

Well, you say it doesn't connect to the PC but what about in MAGLDR? As in the USB flasher? If it does, just flash a new version of CWM (probably through the NAND Toolkit).
If that doesn't work, try a stock ROM from the SD Card and start over.

I was trying to use the USB Flasher earlier and the installation would fail halfway through with various errors.. Tried with 4 different roms.. So decided to do a stock rom from sdcard .. tried a WWE and got an error 28002...couldnt get into magldr even now... Anyways got Task29 ..booted in the red yellow green screen and doing a wipe+hspl+magldr+recovery. As of now it stuck on 0% at the wipe process but it does say 10 minutes for flashing and its been only 2. Lets see.....
Ok the situation as of now is this... Tried installing a stock rom which gave me spl 3.03 ... Magldr no longer working. Task 29 fails to install anything. Trying to install a stock ruu.exe from the rgb screen tells me that the update utility cannot be used for my phone.
Any ideas??

So now in the bootloader it says that you have SPL3.03 rather than HSPL 2.08 right? In that case, maybe try reflashing HSPL then MAGLDR etc. because these won't flash unless you have HSPL. I assume that your main aim is to go back to Android after you've sorted this out anyway.
The way I see it - get HD2 toolkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
Install HSPL 2.08 like Nigeldg said and flash magldr or clk anew. I personally use clk 1.5 and it's childlishly easy to use and I had absolutely no prolems. I attached a zipped .nbh file you can flash after HSPL from HD2 toolkit. It's a new clk with recovery. It's obviously not mine, but I can't remember the thread I got it from (I keeep it just in case since downloaded). You can repartition from your phone then and install whatever ROM you need from recovery. The only problem can be flashing HSPL - if this doesn't go well you'd have to do it from SD like someone suggested.

Yeah don't use the HD2 toolkit, go to the HSPL thread and download the HSPL4 package from there. Just select HSPL2.08 and flash it. The toolkit uses the older HSPL3 package if I'm not mistaken.

Can you try to installing region specific ROM instead of Asia/India version. I faced similar problem last week as I bought phone in Europe (WWE version) but I was trying to update using Asia/India version.
Also, have you ever used HSPL on your phone?
Boot the device into boot loader and connect it to your computer via USB and flash HSPL 3.03 to it. Then run the RUU again.

As powerthink posted above me, right click on the RUU and run it as administrator. Also just keep trying it for a while and maybe it will finish the flash. If it just will not finish the flash and keeps giving you errors. Then you can try flashing from SD card, and if that does not work you can try a earlier ROM version.

Please tell me you do not have a TMOUS HD2? If you do I am very sorry but you hard bricked your HD2. Do you see the 51 I highlighted in the radio version of the RUU you posted? You can not flash a radio with a 51 in it to a TMOUS or you will brick the device. I really wished you would have posted that before you flashed or at least clicked on my guide linked in my sig as I descuss this at the very top of my guide. I am truly sorry friend. The only thing you can do now is have the device JTAGed to fix it. If you want I can give you the contact info on someone that does this for around 40 USD plus shipping and handling.

Well first off I am glad you got your device back up and going, but I am curious how you did this, I mean when you JTAG a HD2 it puts HSPL 2.08 on it. Then you can load a ROM to the device. But you say you have SPL-2.10.0000. Did you already flash something to the device after JTAG?
Either way please do not flash a ROM with a radio version that has 51 in it like the last ROM you flashed. Also do not flash a radio version that is below 2.08.50.?? because evfen though they have a 50 in them. The radio versions below 2.08.50.?? or actually 51 radios because they were used in the TMOUS test toms.
Flash the 3.14.1 ROM from this thread, but do not ever flash the 2.01 through 2.09 ROMs from that thread. Also only flash Windows Mobile ROMs from this section of the Windows Mobile development forum.
Did you try last ROM (3.14.1) at following link?

[Q] Unable to boot to CLK - Stuck on HTC screen

Hi Team
Just bought an old HD2 from work and am trying to flash to Android via the method described here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402975
I get as far as the repartition step 13, and when the phone reboots it does not load into CLK fastboot. All that happens is the white HTC screen comes up and doesn't go any further. At this point the phone is not detectable via ADB or normal USB.
The phone is a GSM HD2 and has HSPL 2.08 installed.
Any help recovering this or pushing forward with the flash is much appreciated.
At step 13 you are in recovery trying to install the rom, it should be trying to boot the rom!
If you are in recovery then you have clk installed.
You might not have the correct partition size for your rom, it will not boot if the partition size is too small.

Yeah thats the problem - it goes through the CLK partition/recovery install, and the phone goes from the tricolour screen to the HTC 0-100% screen, reboots and then the white HTC logo screen. From the instructions, I thought the phone would go straight into CLK recovery.
Is there a set of key presses I'm meant to do to trigger recovery?
You have to hold "home" while booting to boot into recovery.

Yeah didn't work - still goes to the HTC logo...im guessing this means CLK didn't install properly.....Any other ideas?
Do you have install radio 2.15.50.14 ?
Sent from my NexusHD2 using Tapatalk
You have to give us more information.
What does it say when you hold down the volume button when starting the device ?
Same poblem
I have the exact same problem... The clk bootloader doesn't start up when i press the home button, after i've flashed it, but instead getting stuck on the HTC-white screen. I also have another HD2 where i can flash android(NAND) etc... without problems, so i can't really see why it doesn't work..
Right now i've been using:
- HTC HD2 EU-version
- Radio: have tried 2.14.50.02 and 2.15.50.14 without succes...
- SPL - 2.08
- HPSL 4
I'm using the HD2 toolkit when i'm trying to flash the phone.
Please help..
You need HSPL 2.08 or 3.03 to install clk.

Thanks for response.
I've already have HSPL 2.08, just checked it up to make sure...
It's really strange, that my phone does have the right radio and HSPL, but still hangning up on the white HTC bootscreen, after i've flashed clk into it.. or it says that it had "succesfully flashed it"...
My steps for installing magldr or clk, tried both now.
1: Wipe task 29.
2: Flash HSPL 2.08
3: Flash Radio 2.15.50.1
5: Flash clk.
6: Hardreset.
7: Holding down homebutton.
8: Stuck on white screen... -.-'

This is what i have on my tricolor-screen
PB81100 HC - BC
SPL - 2.08. HPSL 8G XE

CotullaHSPL 0x40

Is there any kind of solution for this and have this happen for anyone before?
Have you installed cwm recovery?
Thats what your trying to get to holding the home button.
If it's not working after installing recovery go here and go to post three and try installing clk 1.5 using the leoimg.nbh method.
edit: clk 1.5 comes with recovery pre-installed.

Hold the back button while powering on to get to clk, you can boot to recovery from there and then install rom...
If you get to clk don't forgrt to partition your nand through settings menu..resize partitions...

Thanks for response, but it seems like it doesn't even boot clk.. Normally when you've flashed clk, the phone should reboot to a black screen with some text and from here you can flash cwm recovery. But in this case, the black screen doesn't even show up.
Could it be that my phone have some hardware faults, or maybe is my HD2 not compatible with the radio (2.15.50.14) which were recommended?
Anyway, is there some way to see if clk has been flashed properly, just to make sure that it's there?

The radio is fine for all versions of hd2 and is what I have on my EU version. All I can say is to start from scratch ie. Install hspl 2.08, radio, task 29, then install clk 1.5 again.
In that order...

Still doesn't solve the problem. I have tried with various kind of orders, but without luck.
Just made a recheck on everything and i can conclude that HSPL 2.08 and the radio 2.15.50.1 is there.
The problem may not be a wrong HSPL or radio, since it's there, but perhaps it might be the phone that doesn't flash clk proberly...
Im really confused right now
Anyway, i've also tried to install magdlr but still ended up on HTC-white screen -.-'

Well if you can do that it's not a jtag.
Probably be better to go back to stock if all else fails.

[Q] HD2 not booting/dead?

Hello fellow HD2-Users.
Until about two days ago my HD2 (Vodafone-EU) was happily running tytungs NexusHD2 Android ROM from a NativeSD-Installation (HSPL 2.08 and MAGLDR), but suddenly it did not boot anymore. The white HTC Screen appears, MAGLDR starts, finds the Image and starts doing it's magic, the black HTC Screen appears and bam, frozen. I am still able to enter the MAGLDR Menu and Recovery (recovery-4EXT and CWM, doesn't matter) and can install ROM's via the SD-Card into NAND and NativeSD, but it just won't boot, no matter what i do.
After that i tried a complete wipe by installing the official stock Vodafone 3.14 WM ROM: Doesn't work. The status bar appears on the phone but is stuck at 0% and after a few minutes RUU crashes. Same with HSPL v2 and v4.
Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with my phone? Is the RAM, CPU or NAND broken in some way? If not, does anyone know how to recover it?

Sounds like your sdcard is gone kaput!
Can you see it with computer? If so make a backup and reformat from recovery.

Nope, the SDCARD is fine, as this behavior also happens when booting from NAND.
Also i just tried a way of flashing a rom i had already forgotten: i put the stock image as leoimg.nbh on the SC-Card and tried flashing that: First try failed, second try worked. I now have a working WM Vodafone ROM with SPL 3.03.
After that i tried reinstalling HSPL 2.08 by using HSPL4, but it failed with an error:
CRITICAL ERROR
Flow: 00000006
Error Code: 0000000D
Description: Unknown
Any further ideas?

Don't know what error that is but you could try clk 1.5, and install from the sdcard.
Have a look here at post 3.
Still not sure about your sdcard though, I would back it up and reformat the ext partition!
Oh sh**, you have to install HSPL first!
Does the installer start or do you get thiserror before?

It's definitely not the SD-Card. I already wiped all partitions on it and repartitioned/formatted and i also tried another SD Card.
This Error appears when i try to install HSPL.

You are in tricolor screen (bootloader) when trying to install HSPL and the word "serial" on bottom of phone changes to "usb"?

Yes, of course.
I now changed the USB cable and tried again and on the third try it worked: I now have HSPL 2.08 installed again. But now i can't flash MAGLDR or cLK again because RUU times out. Bah..

I managed to install MAGLDR via SD-Card and to repartition the NAND. From there i booted into 4EXT Recovery, repartitioned the SD-Card and installed the NexusHD2 Android Image.
And now i am where i was in the beginning.
White HTC Screen
MAGLDR
Black HTC Screen
-> Reboot loop
ARGH.
Guess i have to buy a Nexus 4 or something.. sniff.
Not a bad idea!
But try to install clk 1.5, repartition your nand with it and install again (dataonext). Make the system partition 350mb or bigger.

Sorry for answering so late, didn't really have time to tinker around with my Phone.
I installed cLK 1.5 and repartitioned the NAND with it. Installed a ROM aaaaand.. boot loop.
Guess some part of the Hardware is broken.. i only find it really strange that the WinMob ROM booted without problems.
Edit: OMG, i changed from the NexusHD2 2.3/2.3/2.5 ROM back to the 1.5 version you also use aaaaand... it boots! WTF, i used the 4.2.2 ROMs without any problems before...
Anyway, thank you very much for your help.
