Touchscreen parameter adjustment - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I know that there are apps out there and ways to adjust the touchscreen parameters for such devices like the Samsung Galaxy Tabs and similar tablets to allow for better performance while using a stylus to draw in notepad/paint type applications. Things that can be tweaked are parameters like minimum move distance, smoothing, sensitivity, etc. Is there a way to do that on the N7?
thanks!

Resize menubar in jasjar?

Is there a reg key to reduce the size of the sip panel/menubar in the jasjar
tia

In short....No.
You could have a go with the VGA hack though, that'd do the trick...?
SPB Tips and Tricks has this as an option, it is not free though.
found this
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip|MenuBarHeight
changing the dword does nothing though!
The SIP panel is one size only. You can't resize it - it would leave holes on the sides. The only way is if you run your device at VGA resolution, which makes EVERYTHING smaller.
The sizes in the top and bottom are similarly hard coded in Shell.exe. The devices are supposed to look a certain way on set resolutions. It's not like the menubars in Windows that you can reduce or enlarge, unfortunately.
It is sad, though, so lose so much potential space on the screen. That is why some people prefer to run VGA devices in the hacked VGA modes.

decibel tester on touch diamond

Anyone of you know a program for testing the intensity of the noise: a decibel tester for our touch Diamond?
It would be a good application!
Thanks
have a look at: http://www.phonature.com:8092/home/products_pdaApp_ppc_HandDeeSA.htm ... it's old but i use it on my diamond.
which program do you mean? Because I don't want to measure the frequency in Hz but the intensity in decibel.

I understand which program. I think it's what I'm looking for.
Something free?
the second view in handee sa has a db scale.
"..# Adjustable dB range from 0-100dB.
# Turn on/off dB scale and grid lines. ..."
i know its not only for showing the current and peak db value but .. give it a try
EDIT: you were faster .. sorry, i don't know a free app

maximum screen sensitivity & scroll speed, how?

What is the maximum screen sensivity and scroll speed I can manual configure for the HD ?
(for example in Schaps Advanced Edit)
Pressure threshold (now at 18866 = normal)
Finger Pressure (now at 2908 = normal)
Scroll
High Scrolling speed is at 0 (advised 5)
low Scrolling speed at 14
Thank you for help!
Nobody know this?
I'm stuck with this to guys... I use the HD Tweak...
You can use advised settings but I still don't see the effect
Does anyone know the best way to adjust screen sensitivity??
there is a reg hack, used to be done on Athena i assume it works on all but im not sure do a search its on here somewhere
This is a good tweak,

Screen sensitivity

Hi
I have a doubt.
Is it possible to increase the screen sensitivity?
I dont know if is my new HD2 or the 1.48 rom, but it seems more unresponsive, that will not be a problem without a screen protector, but with the screen, it is a little unresponsive, so, I see that it is possible to decrease, I was thinking if its possible to increase a little to have the same responsiveness of my old hd2 with 1.43 tweaking the registry or something similar.
thanks
At the moment, no.
and how is decreased the sens pressure?
increase or narrow sensitivity
I too would like to increase screen sensitivity or better, narrow the sensitivity. I think I read that if the diameter of a press is not a certain size the software ignores it as a false contact. That's why every stylus has a large contact surface. You could make a nice narrow tipped stylus out of conductive material to focus the electrons more powerfully, but It'll just be ignored. Is there some hack to narrow that preset diameter?
I want to use a stylus for making little design scetches, taking quick ink notes, and my software that teaches me to write Japanese. I thought a bigger screen would improve these, but I didn't think the problem would be this bad.
I and many others want to use a stylus for the forementioned or other reasons, so if you are one of those people that likes to write,"Why use a stylus on a touch phone?", please don't waste the space.
I would interested in the same question ...

Click to collapse
interested in INCREASING sensitivity also
i have also noticed a decrease in sensitivity when moving from 1.43 to 1.66...
anyone got any ideas on increasing the sensitivity yet?

Why does my start screen look diffrent to yours

For some reason on my metro start page I have 6 apps down and its only spanning one page. I am running two monitors which are 1920 x 1080, my other pc is running a single monitor with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, why are they different and is there a way to change it ?
Hard to tell with out seeing, perhaps it something to do with dpi scaling which can be found by typing dpi on start menu. I have not seen dual monitors running windows 8 yet so I'm guessing.
You might want to check the charms settings/more settings option and see if its a setting there. I noticed an option for spreading desktop images across multiple monitors, it might be connected to that.
Hope that's of some help, If you could upload some comparative screenshots it might help tho.
I have read on other forums that Metro only appears on one screen, desktop on the other, there are still problems regarding multi screens, but remember it is a "Beta".
Lol, "Pre"-Beta, even. I love being an early adopter. No sarcasm, really, I do .
I've seen this before and it seems that the Metro UI configures itself based on resolution, DPI and possibly other specs as well. I first noticed it with 2 monitors set at the same resolution one having 4 roles of tiles and the other having 5, but even monitors with the same DPI can have a differing layout. I'm not sure what kind of algorithm MS is using to scale the new metro UI but it seems to be effected by several factors.
Hey thanks guys for the reply, my second monitor was a HD tv so maybe it detect this and forced the maximum tiles to decease. I did find on the net a way to change it but I think this was for the developers preview and the registry seems different now.

As for metro only appearing on one monitor this is true and it can be a little frustrating sometimes. For instance if you have the start menu open and then you start working on the desktop it closes the start menu and goes to what ever app that was just opened which is rather annoying, you also cannot move metro apps from one screen to another or at least I don't know how to.
Another annoyance is since win 8 with keyboard and mouse relies upon the corners when you try and pull the charms menu up you find your self rather going to the next screen. This is easily delt with as I just use windows key + C, but I would rather them just disable the charms menu for dual monitors with the mouse. Forcing you to use win + c so I don't have to see a transparent charms on occasion when I am moving to the second monitor.
Also is it just me or do other people think you need to be able to break up the apps on the start screen vertically as well as horizontally.
