If I were you, I would search ebay for a nexus s that is broken, like screen shattered or bad esn etc etc, they can go pretty cheap, you just need the back inner case. If you need directions on replacement:
http://goo.gl/gArqk
Plus, you would have other parts from that phone incase anything else goes wrong.
Cheapest one I found on ebay for 80$ which isn't bad.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-NEX...0936632720?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item1c28629190

Exact lithid cm,
I would do the same.

I need this piece:

but they doesn't sent in Italy.. :-( any alternatives?

It says it's a 'replacement lens'. As far as I am aware there is only one cover/lens, be it glass or plastic.

read it again, thats a replacement lense COVER.
meaning, it covers the lens. Have a look at your HD2 and tell me thats what you camera looks like, its not even transparent.
ive had a look, and it looks like the only ways of doing it are the following.
1, send to HTC to get repaired
2, do a bodge job and make one yourself
3, have a look on ebay for exdisplay/dummy phones and buy it, user the lense from that.

It looks exactly like mine. There is the camera housing, the elevated metal cover that protects the lens and the glass that sits on top of it. That cover on eBay is a replacement for a smashed/cracked lens cover, which is exactly the same as mine. Unless I am being unbelievably stupid, I am pretty sure he just means that. A picture would be nice.
I broke mine, too a while ago and sent it to HTC Germany's service partner for repair. Cost me over 60 Euros plus my initial shipping costs to get it done. Just to give you a hint of what an official repair might cost you.
I guess you could contact HTC in a different country than yours and ask them if you can send your HD2 for repair there. Should be no problem scince you have to pay for the repair anyway and won't cost them anything.
thanks guys for your replies, I will put a picture of my HD2 at the end of the day so that everyone knows what is exactly the problem
Somebody else?
My wife droped mine HD2 too... so... I was wondering if I can just replace the glass with this plastic replacement....
I will buy it on my pay day thursday and let you know!
Any news on this? I broke my camera glass, too
Hey guys,
Ive ordered mine, should be here in the next week.
Will report back
I broke mine too
No idea how I did it. It was in my pocket on a flight from Kansas City to New Orleans. First time I got it out to take a picture I noticed it.
Really would like to know what my options are.
has anyone found a fix? I have same prob. If there is a replacement, how do you fix it?
Hey Guys,
Mine arrived today, did not look like much (came in an envelope) but i fit it in quite easily and it looks great!
All you need to do to install is click it in place.

i bought one of the ebay replacement lens covers and a dummy phone as insurance. both of these covers appeared to be made of plastic whereas i'm pretty sure the original is optical glass. since this cover is going to have a direct impact on the quality of your pics, you will want it to be as clear as possible and since it will inevitably be wiped off countless times, scratch-proof. for these reasons, i came to the conclusion that it might be better to source a glass cover from another phone (not neccessarily an hd2) or get a legit htc replacement.

[Q] Scratch removal

Hi,
after my wife dropped my phone (accidently she swears) I have some small scratches on the phone. (See Picture below)
Someone knows some ACME Cleaner&Scratch remover for that?
Greetings .. seems that I have had the HD2 for the longest time ...
OOO!! Ouch! Looks like it's time to see the phone doctor. Or, if you feel brave enough, you can fix it yourself. They have replacement screens on ebay. Since you have the EU model the contacts for the screen and the digitizer are soldered together. So you have 3 options. 1. Take it to someone else to fix it. 2. Attempt to order just the digitizer and if you have some time and surgical skills solder the contacts yourself or, 3. Get a fully assembled LCD and digitizer that is already soldered together and swap them out. The cheapest would be to just get the digitizer but if you have to factor in the time and headache of soldering those tiny contacts together, I think getting the assembled parts would be my choice. The US T-Mobile model has a small plug-in type connector on it so there is not soldering. I replaced mine and it is quite a chore. You have to be very careful and don't rush it or you will break things. Good luck!
Yeah you've got more than scratches there! You've got a smashed screen
You'll have to replace the glass
the guy above stated pretty much everything you need to know but here's a link to a lcd+digitizer combo that is fairly cheap: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-LCD-Dis...192999?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item45fdf14d27

That's great. Like I said be very careful in taking it apart. Especially the flex cable that controls the volume rocker. Take your time and you can get it fixed.
Check out this website: http://pocketnow.com/hardware-1/official-htc-hd2-disassembly-assembly-training-videos-leaked
It has some videos on disassembling and assembling the HD2 just so you see what you have to deal with. Also another good investment would be to see if you can get some double sided tape to stick the back of the LCD to main frame if you can't salvage the stuff that's there already. It can't be too thick though because you'll run into problems of getting it put back together. They have that on ebay also.

[Q] Nexus 7 Screen cracked! Questions.

Okay so it's been less than a f***ing week and I've managed to crack my Nexus 7 32GB 3G. Hell yeah. Fell on a bathroom ceramic tile from 4 foot high and the corner bit chipped off. The entire touch screen works though, it's just the corner bit cracked.
SO ANYWAYS! I have a few questions for those smart guys out there that know about displays.
First of all, I've found out from the internet, that because the LCD and the Digitiser are glued together, I'd need to buy them together. Otherwise known as a Nexus 7 Display Assembly.
Few questions:
1) If I buy a display assembly from ebay for example, will it be of less quality than ASUS's original screen, or will it probably just be a part from ASUS anyways?
2) If I do buy this display assembly, will it still have the same number of Pixels as the original screen?
3) Will it have the same brightness, same touch responsiveness, same all that **** as the original screen?
If not, I may consider just repairing directly from ASUS, so...
4) How much does it cost in pounds(£) to repair the N7 Screen all in, taking into account my shipping fees from the UK?
Seriously need someone who has any experience of this whatsoever
I'm considering if I should repair this with the 3rd party screen and sell it privately if it's not the same quality, then buy a brand new one for myself. What's your guys thoughts on this? I really need some of your expert advice
I JUST replaced the screen on my nexus. I bought the display assembly from powerbookmedic.com, and the tools I needed from iFixit.com. All in all, it cost me around $200 in the States. The repair process was pretty easy, and the screen looks and functions exactly the same as the original screen. My only suggestion would be to make sure you have some good adhesive. I have a little screen lift now because the adhesive lost its traction when I took the cracked screen off the upper casing. Good luck!

Huh? Adhesive? We have to add adhesive? I thought adhesive was only to the digitiser + the lcd screen? I thought that it already comes assembled when you buy the part, because apparently you have to buy it together? If it isn't used for digitiser/lcd screen, then what did you use adhesive for?
The digitizer is indeed fused to the glass, but the silver ring you see around your screen is also fixed to the glass with adhesive, and that part doesn't come with the LCD/digitizer assembly.
The screen affixed itself to this upper casing on mine okay, but I do have about a millimeter or so of screen lift now which I didn't have before.

The best way to attach the new display is to use very thin two sided tape. you cut it in 1/8 inch strips. Apple it all the way around the bezel. then with a sharp knife run it along the inside bezel. Pay close attention to the thin bezel area on the left side ({where screen lift occurs) To be sure you do have it perfect in that area.. Ithe screen face down on cloth . Push the bezel onto the sticky tape (with film removed of course.. Turn device over and put back together.. LEAVING OUT THE TWO CENTER SCREWS or leave then very loose on the left side.(if you have a newer model of nexus these screws will be gone anyway). I have done many phone /tablet screens . If you can get it apart and back together you can replace the screen assembly..
No real need to send it to someone else nexus is easy to dissemble reassemble
Good Luck... Buy a full working 8 gb from ebay for 150.00 might be your best best....
Any clue How to detach the broken glass\digitazer\lcd from this aluminiun bezel?
I recently broke my screen as well. I saw on ebay only 2 options. First option is a screen only for about $50 which doesn't look like it will do anything for me. You the second option is a digitizer for around $300. $300 clearly exceeds the cost of a brand new device so that wouldn't make any sense at all. Even $200 doesn't make sense as I can buy a 8gb device for that and swap screens. I have the 16gb model. Does anyone have any cheaper sources for screen/digitizer that make economic sense?
Thanks,
Dan

It seems pretty pointless to me why you posted that in response to my comment about the chinese website because
a) It was a chinese website... I just needed some help because of the language lol
b) It seems we're only interested in the screen which is what was being suggested... not the a full device like you said lol
c) Your price is $179... his price for the screen was ~$120... so even if I was to harnass only the screen in your one... I'm still at a loss.. lol
Thanks for the try though!
Actually $179 for an entire new (refurbished) nexus 7 with 16gb more storage than mine is a very tempting option. I may choose to do that vs spending almost the same to import a screen from China, have to go through the hassle of installing it myself and hopefully do it properly and have it look clean and factory. If I did that then I could still hang on to my broken one in hopes that in 6 months or so the screen prices might drop to a more reasonable price.

[Q] Is Defy easy to take apart and fix?

Hi all,
Just looking for some advice. My Defy, which has been dropped many of times and never broken, dropped out my pocket from a ladder last night. It landed on the top where the power button is and the screen shattered and also the LCD has broken and is just lighting up.
Now, had a sniff around this forum and found a website in the US that say they can send me a new digitizer, adhesive and lcd for just under £40.
My question is, is the Defy an easy phone to take apart and more importantly, is it easy to re-assemble? Just looking for some advice before I waste £40. I had a quote of a couple of repair shops and cheapest I got quoted was £70, in that case I would just buy a used one on ebay for about the same.
Any advice welcome and much appreciated.

Very Simple.. but careful
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Motorola+Defy+Teardown/7260/1
Part 1 + 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uSH1UuEOvI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=UG&hl=en-GB&v=5eiFQ39Ypmc
Easy to take apart and reassemble.
But if it's been dropped before there's a good chance that one or more of the screw holes will break off in the process - these are very weak and flimsy.
Also, you may lose your waterproofness on reassembly unless you are very careful.
Also take care of dust getting between the glass and the screen on reassembly.

[Q] Replacement Parts SM-N900W8

I fell on some stairs and landed right on my Note 3, cheek to stair. Despite having the Otterbox, I bent it quite a bit and the glass is shattered.
In any case, I'm trying to find the parts I need, and I believe I have, but they are either generic or for US models.
I'm looking at the following two parts from ETrade and I'm wondering if they will work. I've contacted them twice but keep hitting midnight, their time, and they haven't gotten back to me by email.
My phone is SM-N900W8.
The parts I'm looking at are:

http://www.etradesupply.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3-n9005-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-with-frame-white-20687.html
Any help would be appreciated.
*bump*
I usually use eBay for this kind of stuff... Is anything available there?
Word from eTrade - Not compatible, part for this phone are not currently in the market, they will be sourcing it and will let me know.
Nothing on ebay.
Anyone else have a suggestion? I'm wondering if there is a screen protector with glue that would help fill in the cracks in the glass a bit?

Are you saying digitizer and s-pen work? If so why are you buying whole thing? You can buy just front glass, there are few videos to show how to replace it and I admit it's time consuming and little tricky, but if you really mess up, then get the whole digitizer. Also the glass itself is much less expensive and probably the same across all models. Just search youtube for instructions.

yeah, and follows the exact curve of my rear...for comfortability
I could probably do the glass and case and attempt to replace those, but the glass is REALLY shattered and if I botch that then I've wasted $100. Not to mention they say without an autoclave you're chances of going bubble free are pretty slim and I'm willing to spend the $300 to get this back to its former beauty. I can't imagine why Canada's model would be so different.
Just be careful, Crapple lawyers will go after you , 5S came out first with curved phone, so they have patent for that. LOL
Seriously now - ouch, if the frame is bent the whole screen will not fit either, me think. If it was my phone I would take it apart and very carefully try to see if I could make it straight again. I would still insist all you need is front glass, if it doesn't work you'll be out $20-$30, not $300. I have hard time to imagine the screen assembly is bended, but not frame. If frame is bent new screen won't fit. Of course without seeing it, I'm speculating and I could be completely wrong. Hope you get it sorted.
I might post a pic later, the battery is bent as well...all kinds of messed up
but still works!
Found a place locally that can get parts. Shout out to the best computer store in Calgary www.memoryexpress.com
I have to confirm the parts still, but the price came out to what I expected to pay eTrade and no shipping.
I don't think our Canadian model is any different. If you take it apart it says at&t right on the board.

This is what I thought, but I don't want to spend $300 to find out they were right.
