Can anyone help with the search for the electrical circuit of the elements on the motherboard? I have defy with a dead LCD. Display a worker, and the board is missing a few elements from water damage.

http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Motorola+Defy+Teardown/7260/1

Thank you. But I need not parse him. I need a wiring diagram. It is necessary to to determine which element is absent, to be restored later.

JTAG Wildfire

my first post on the forum, so far xda has been a great source of information & tips for me, so, a big thanks to everyone here...
now, onto my project, the htc wildfire...
i've been given this as a dead unit as somebody had attempted to install a non-android operating system to it.. so far i have managed to revive the handset & successfully installed a working firmware, but, the remaining problem is a completely blanked imei number.. i.e all zeros... boo hoo indeed...
so, i need to get the imei off the serial sticker into the board again. i know there's gonna be people saying.. ahhh you need to use smti or riff or whatever box, but that isn't my way and i aint about to trash a bundle of cash on a one off thing.. i've jtag'd plenty of things before without buying anything other than the occasional components here & there.. i prefer to tamper & recycle bits i already have.
to kick this off i've stripped the wildfire & photographed the pcb & tagged all the jtag points i think i'm gonna need, aswell as a pinout of a standard 20pin header - i've already got buffered & un-buffered jtags to use so my last problems here are making the connections to the pcb - very very tricky soldering or make a pogo style plug & then physically dumping the relevant area of memory, editing the imei data & putting back into the board. its no small order i know, but hey, its cost me nothing & i like to have a go - its more of a hobby thing..
i'm sure somebody out there's already had a go at this without buying those expensive boxes. so anybody wanna share there tips & knowledge ???
i will add to this thread as & when i make some more progress... next few days i expect...
Can't help you sorry but this post will bump it

..i couldn't tell you tbh,, your first check there would be to look at the pinout of both chips & see if they match.. to do the swap (if its even possible) you would of course need specialist tools as its a bga chip - i.e tiny balls of solder underneath the body of the thing..

You don't want to see my facial expression to the thought of that!
,,,well it's been a while.. after been ill for a while & hospitalized (grr) i may actually get round to some more wildfire tampering..
i've dug my gear out & had another look.. so far i have manufactured myself a fresh lpt wiggler style jtag unit since the one i previously used to tamper sat & cable & modems & xboxs etc wasn't working correctly - didnt have sufficient lines !!! it's a bit of a frankenstein since i've mounted all the components thru a piece of card & housed it inside an old cotton bud plastic box.. lol.. i'll post up a pic of the monser soon as i find my sdcard reader... but hey.. it works..
my efforts so far using ocr commander - settings are lpt - wiggler @380khz, arm926t. a scan of the jtag chain reveals dev count 1, ir length 4, id code c01b30e1.
i've also attacked it with h-jtag which gave me a completely different id code of 0x7e667fdf - i never rated h-jtag so i'm disregarding that & deleting the prog from my lappy!
state of play now - i have uninterupted jtag access with no errors thru ocd but im now brickwalled !! can anybody recommend a decent jtag utility program that will allow me to dump the all important portion of the memory holding the imei data & does anybody have a clue at what location that data is held once i get it out of the phone.. i hate sitting & rummaging through page after page in winhex... comments & clue gratefully welcomed..
,,oh,, before somebody points out - i know the msm7225 fitted in the wildfire is arm 1136 instruction v6.. but ocd read it all good as arm 926.. im guessing they use same instruction set or that the differences are so negligible that it just doesnt care...
Has there been any progress with this? I was thinking of doing the same with my phone
..no more work was done on this project... i ended up getting a riffbox very very cheap.
This project is too extreme and amazing for the developers here. Please take this to the general android hacking section. Before you confuse us any more!

[Q] I "destroy"ed my Defy, hardware-style

Anyone can help me with this?
I received this Defy from a friend so that means no warranty here :/
I actually wanted to replace the faulty speakerphone of my Defy.
I proceeded to order a speakerphone piece for my Defy, then when it came it had free tools for use as well.
I then went ahead to take everything out, and replaced the speakerphone.
I then realised that the I lost the part near the LED (proximity sensor?) when I pressed the button on the speakerphone part to release it.
I thought nothing would go wrong, so I went ahead to place everything back, including the touchscreen.
But then I tried screwing the screws back again and realised they could no longer be screwed back into place. I took a closer look and saw that the screws themselves had been "circle"-fied from a hexagon shape, probably friction caused it.
Now I am stuck with a Defy that shorts the screen upon accepting a call (but the speakerphone works) and a thin strip in the touchscreen that doesn't work.
Any help?
go into some Repair service other than Motorola som non official People can Help, they have exeperience!
yeah go to non official service center... who knows u might get unlocked boot loader...

Yes.....but it depends on which part of Singapore you are at.....
I went to a nearby phone shop , ask for details and they're wanting to charge me SGD$90 for just the touchscreen

about the screws
What i learned from mending and playing with electronic devices is that small screws as seen on a phone are easy to "circle"-fie or destory the thread/scroll. So don't press hard, and as in the video above try to unscrew it without moving the tip of the screwdriver in the screw. Just one turn can damage the screw for good.
Sometimes even if you do it correctly after several screws on/off it gets damaged.
But they are cheap. Saw a US site with phone parts and they had the Defy outer screws for a cheap price. I guess in a service they come even cheaper.
Good luck fixing it.
Out of searching the entire Singapore with my small budget I gave up and sent it for official service :/
But to tell the truth the service centre was quite....umm....dead , 2 workers and only 1 customer when I was there
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace. Problem?

Its possible, the flex connectors have slipped or the circuit board gets cracked internally in a fall, best to just to strip down to check . dismantling guides in My Android Collections

HTC Repair Centre

Has anyone any experience sending their phone to the HTC repair centre after bricking their phone?
Long story short but i flashed the wrong boot animation and completely wiped the phone and despite several attempts to get a ROM on it again (spent days) I was unable to do so so brought it back to the shops where I bought it (was locked to o2 but I got it unlocked)
They sent it to company here called Fonemenders, i got a text today saying it has to be sent for level 3 repairs and mentioned something about the motherboard, now that has scared me a bit, it's bad enough I have to wait another 7 to 10 days but does anyone think I'll get charged given they'll see that it says tampered on it, i fail to see how it could be a problem with the motherboard too.
Has anyone any experience sending their phone to the HTC repair centre and what was the process.
Seriously contemplating never flashing anything again on my phone after this nightmare

I don't have any experience with HTC's repair centers, but I've sent in several rooted Samsung devices and a bricked Asus Transformer for repair. My experience has been that the people in the repair centers really don't give a crap. Relax and hope for the best :good:
Samsung phones are seriously easy to modify compared to HTC, I'm no noob and read extensively on here and followed instructions to a t but still couldnt manage to get a stock or custom ROM back on my phone after that bad flash and me wiping it, no matter what I done.
Feel like I'm missing a limb here have gone over a week without it and now have another week wait, i won't rest easy until I have a fully working phone again.
Hope you are right my friend.

I don't think HTC phones are difficult to flash, sure, not as easy as Samsung, but on the other hand, much harder to brick.

I'm a bit concerned though why they mentioned the motherboard (see attached) there was nothing wrong with the motherboard all that needed to be done is for stock ROM to be flashed back on it.
I'm reading some reports of people being charged a lot when they are informed the motherboard has to be replaced, i should have just sent it into a repair shop in town for €25.
Well the flash ROM is soldered to the motherboard, if it is bricked, it would require a new motherboard.
It's probably not bricked, but in order to maintain your warranty, sometimes they say they must return it in "factory condition", which means unlocked. Which means a new motherboard. That's probably not really true in most cases, but once it's been unlocked, it's possible to overvoltage and overclock, which has the potential, however slight, to cause hardware damage.

they r very easy to flash
I'm very curious to see how HTC will replace the motherboard without causing dents in white polymer or screen damage, as we saw in ifix only with heat and a scalpel can be open the ONE.
Unless HTC repair center have an opening method that we dont know, they should give you a new device.

I sincerely hope you are right mate, I'd snap up a new device now.
I will report back anyway, if they come up with obscene charges I'll have to just leave it into a mobile repair shop here, i already went there and they said it would take a week and I thought that was too long but in retrospect I should have just left it with them.

Sorry when I said bricked it's just a term, i could get into recovery and I even relocked the bootloader so i tried all the various commands but i simply could not get anything to work, can't they just flash a ruu.exe for my device, i tried that myself but the ruu.exe in question was not compatible with my phone (earlier version)
What happens in an event that they fix it and then try and charge me and I refuse to pay or is it likely they'll be contact me first to inform me of this, and if i refuse to pay they'll just give me back the phone as it is?
I'm skint and haven't really got the money to pay for repairs, can afford a few quid but not over €100

iFixits teardown was flawed. If you pop the two speaker enclosures off there are screws that allow you to open the device.

Oh lord...... I hope that is true, in that case the chances of choosing the ONE increase to 95%, because I'd really like to have one.
Even i will not have the need to open it, I get psychologically rested with this subject.
thx.

Yup. The detachable speaker covers are the last seal in the assembly but iFixit acted under the assumption it's fully zero gap, so they broke it
Check the anandtech review discussing assembly :good:

I haven't been able to find just the speaker covers But you can buy a ton of other parts here.
I'd bookmark it, they might add the speaker covers eventually. And who knows, if you're feeling adventurous maybe you can just do a color swap

Could you show me the path to that discussion, already searched on google and can't find.

If they have identified an issue with hardware then thats good for you as you'll get a new device and your flashing has not been identified as they issue..... Your lucky they're doing it under warranty.
Mate don't worry about sending it off I've done it before sometimes its delivered earlier than expected and had my screen replaced before and there was nothing wrong with it as far as I'm concerned...I was happy with the service some people may have different experiences

HTC repair centres vary by country. HTC usually employ a company to look at them. So each experience will be different.

Broken camera glass panel

So I somehow managed to break my camera glass. I think it was me, more than the glass, that was shattered on realizing what I had done.
Now I'm wondering, what should I do? Can I send it to a service center for repair? Can it somehow be covered under warranty? (I really doubt it). Is it user replaceable?
Any suggestion is warmly welcomed.
Thanks in advance.
