[Q] how to revert back to stock 2.2 dell xcd 35 - Blade General

hi,
i have a dell xcd 35 with stock 2.2 gen 2 non rooted.
i want to install custom rom on this device i have read
thread at modaco link below
http://android.modaco.com/topic/3357...r-gen2-device/
but i want to know how to revert back to stock 2.2 with all the things same as when it was out of the box (i.e. non rooted with stock recovery not cwm)
as i want warranty of my handset so it should be same like before.
in the thread at modaco about installing custom rom on gen2 blade there is a topic "reverting back to stock" in this the told to flash the stock rom zip which we have backed up or a fresh stock 2.2 which is in roms section BUT MY QUESTION IS THAT AFTER FLASHING STOCK ROM ALSO WE CANT GET THE STOCK RECOVERY INSTALLED AND IT NOT BECOME LIKE OUT OF BOX.? plzzzz tell me how to get back to the same state when it was out of the box, is there any other method of flashing AND PLZZ TELL ME ABOUT TPT ALSO i am a noob... plzzz help i want how to get back to stock with stock recovery as i need my warranty.
thanks in advance

Like I told you in the pm. Use clockwork mod and flash the file I linked you to in my message. Then use z4root to unroot and uninstall z4root. That's all.
The stock rom I linked you to has stock recovery in it.

thnx man for opening the thread i'll really appreciate if u do that always.
its quite simple if u just flash the stock rom then it will be back to stock absolutely stock with stock recovery and boot animation and rom with no root.

Weird. When I first installed z4root on my stock dell 2.2,there was an unroot option as well. The links I've posted in my thread about stock roms have stock recoveries in them. Dono bout root though.

i also tried temporary root but it is also not properly working.

Now why would you open a new thread for this question?

The original thread was Dev based, about the ROM being released and how stable it is as released. This thread was noob based about how to flash said ROM and if it is different from another, very similar ROM.
Why clutter one thread when you can have two?
Anyway, to answer the question instead of of questioning the question, Yes the basic principle is the same. Once you have the System Recovery installed, it's a case of copying the CM9 zip file to your SD card and flashing the same as CM7, although the way I've personally done it is using Multiboot, so that I can normally use CM7 for "production" but can have a go and see how CM9 is progressing for a few minutes or so.
The Multiboot thread is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364659
Have fun.

Reboot and press vol- when you seen blue light. You'll be taken to the bootmenu. It's stated in there version of your current bootmenu.
And yes you need to change it speaking of compatibility..

U need to root it. Use z4root mod (a software widely available) and select permanent root and reboot ur phone. Next flash cyanogenmod. U could go for cm9 but for a new user, a fully stable cm7 is better. Try burgerZ kang found in cm7 kang thread in the blade android development section. Download the rom and the Gapps
Download rom manager and flash clockworkmod recovery. Backup data
Put the rom and gapps in ur sdcard. Reboot into recovery by pressing volume down and power. Wipe data and cache. Select install zip from sdcard and flash both the rom and gapps
Reboot.

Moved to General. Please post in the correct forum.

i installed SwedishSnow RLS7, but there is no sim working. No signal, not connected radio. When i switch to airplane mode ON, it becomes inactive and i cannot swich it off. When i recovered via cwm back to official 2.3.5 and tried to recover the boot from SS (because of unlocked kernel), it freezes at ZTE logo. So the official does not work with SS kernel. I am so unhappy

Currently in the GB stock rom the IMEI is present. Pigfish says Gen2 - sold with Froyo, thats true. I only want to use an oc kernel, not whole custom rom, because they are not fully localized. This phone uses my wife and she likes our native language. I use a huawei u8800pro and the speed difference is huge. I hope that 100 mhz up helps her a little bit.

Most Stable ROM...

I know this is another one of those very opinionated threads, but this isn't for MY phone. I rooted my friends Fascinate over a year ago and flashed a ROM for him. It did really well for a long time, but just recently his phone started getting really buggy and slow. Just wondering what you guys recommend for a really nice stable, but quick ROM?
Also...bit off topic, but are there any good Audio Mods for the fascinate..?
Any of the ones on the main page of the development section are quality Roms some may have a quirk or two but generally nothing that can't have a workaround,,
you just really have to embrace what jellybean is and what the developers have done for us
Which is give us the very latest/best android is offering right now that that runs on a package 3+ yrs old
Also spend some time and just read their main page and last page or two to see what they are all about...

Last part of section 4...
*For those currently on a ICS rom and want to upgrade to a Jellybean rom or vise versa. Just download the rom of choice to sd, boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, then flash rom...should be no need to go all the way back to stock unless your having alot of issues with force closes and what not.
Only thing to add is you'll need to flash the ROM 2-3 times because of a new partition layout...
Don't do anything extra... And it should work fine

So keep flashing it over in recovery 2-3 times??
Any recommendations on a good recovery for him?
I highly recommend CM 10.1, although I had a weird issue lately where no matter what performance settings I was using my music would skip around every 10 min or so, but I'm sure jt will find a fix for it eventually. If you don't constantly play music on your phone like I do then you probably wouldn't mind that little gripe. I've been on Helly Bean now for a few days with no problems, which is basically CM 10.1 with a few extras and Devil Kernel baked in. I know Paranoid is a really good rom, but I haven't tried it myself. We're lucky enough to have great developers that all make excellent roms so just take your pick of the popular ones and have at it

He just means it will abort the flash to warn you that your phone is being switched to the new partition layout and you will lose all your data... it's just a formality and nothing to worry about. All you need to do is flash again after the warning and it'll do it for real
---------- Post added at 11:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:49 PM ----------
Oh and as far as audio mods, there are a few out there (Acid mod I think?) but if you use CM 10.1 it will come with DSP manager which lets you tweak it a bit, but personally I just use Power Amp and the EQ on that is just phenomenal and I don't even feel like I need anything else because of how good it works.
Alright thanks guys! Just trying to figure out what recovery to upgrade to...maybe TWRP?
Yes it will pop up and say error 7 or warning, but just go ahead and chose reinstall the same zip file again... And it will give error again, so repeat... After the 3rd time,,,, then reboot
The cwm recovery is built in
The hellybean roms have their own with some extra options,,, plus if you want to flash their kernel,,, there is a thread with the info

If you want to use TWRP then go to this thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133358 but as hhp already pointed out, each rom comes bundled with it's own recovery so the only time you need to really flash your own is if you're coming from stock and flash CMW4 fixed for CM7

Ohh...weird...its been so long since I had a Fascinate and my TB and Nexus aren't that way haha. Thanks for all your help. I may just flash back to stock using Step 4 and then put PA on or something. His phone is pretty dam buggy, lots of force closes, or permission errors so I figure I will try to get it as cleaned up as possible
if lack of activity is any indicator(as in not too much complaints) then I just want to cast a vote for JellyBro. I am now on 2-25-13 version and its been pretty smooth and solid for me thus far.
it;s working well enough that I was considering setting up a device for my mom(who defintely doesn't have the patience for stuff that doesn;t work).
I use GeeWiz 2.8.1... it has Voodoo audio, and is super fast and smooth. Along with the KGB FA16 Kernel... All of which can be found in my sig including the theme.
I've tried dozens of mtds e.g ICS, JB, etc. and even GeeWiz 4.2... but the GW 2.8.1 is the most stable and fastest. You can also go with 2.9 from the main GeeWiz 2 thread. Even though it's Gingerbread... it's up there with all the newer roms for speed and dare I say even more stable than most newer Roms. AND.. Everything works... unlike a lot of the newer JB roms out there.
Hope that helps.

Just quick question JJ, is there anything special has to be done to flash back to that GB ROM , from a 4.2.2 ROM ?

from what I remember, your going to have to ODIN back to the stock EH03 then up to geewiz , this is because both of partitioning and recovery differences.
.
You don't have to Odin back to stock. The link in my dropbox is a full wipe odin... it's just like going back to stock but not. Just odin the tar and you're good to go. Full eh03 support.

Searching for a GB stable rom

Hi. This is my first post on defy forum. I'm an old xperia x10 mini pro owner, so i know to flash roms and kernels.
Now I need to flash a Defy Plus rom. I'd like to know which one is stable. On my xperia, I'm using MiniCM7 2.2.1. It's an old rom, bur very stable. So guys, i don't care about bleeding edge versions. I prefer a Cyano Ginger fast and stable rom. Please, give me some opinions.
Many thanks
cm7 by quarx or mine is on cm7.2 by fuzz..

Thanks for your answer. Do they require custom kernel or unlocked bootloader? Or just stock kernel?
defy plus bootloader is unlockable..
so, root your defy, install 2init..install cmw through 2init and flash rom..no need custom kernel..
CM7.2 20130301

What is 2init? I've followed a guide to root the Defy+ and it installed a dual boot too (with blue characters), that boot if I press volume + or -. Is that the 2init?
I've read about quarx and fuzz. I seems that one of them is a nightly. I don't want a nighlty. Also, I did not find them in the development section. Can you provide me some links?
Thank you very much guys!!!
EDIT: Well, I don't remember if blue characters are from stock or new boot. I remember that it has and option "recovery > stock recovery" so I believe this boot has been installed, and it's not stock recovery.
U dont want nightly.... dats cool but this one is a stable one uptill now fr me 20130307

Yes, it's a good build (but poor camera and high ram consumption), use greenify to better system performance.

WIUI!!
For me WIUI GB 3.1.27 Stable Version is the best, lots of options, fully customizable, really LONG battery life, EVERYTHING works and MULTILANG. I've tried all the roms for Defy and that's the only one I always return to cause JB is still a works in progress. Good Luck!
long story shorted, 2init will let you install custom recovery (cmw)..
if you want stable, you may try cm7 build from maniac..seem like he already post about his final build a few days ago..
*sorry dont have the link, you may search in general/android development section..
edit: here the thread link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458729

Did you try White Rabbit? I'm on latest White Rabbit now.
What's the best way to backup all my apps without using TB? Tried TB before and messed my phone up with conflicting device serial numbers or something weird. :-[
Cheers, F

MS2Ginger 5.0
If you want something closer to stock with lots of tuning, you might consider MS2Ginger 5.0:
