Hey guys i've been playing around with roms recently and found an amazing performace! For our X8 this is specially for minicm 2.1.9.
This file i have is not a flashable zip cause i dont have a pc at the moment if someone manage to make it flashable would be great.!
First of all let me give thanks to CKKnot
Cause most files are from his rom FDE Experience and thanks to nAa for the awesome rom and kernel
Ok instructions are inside the zip
This actually improves 2d and 3d performance auto brightness from cm 2.0.7 and Sd read and Write.
So here we go enjoy optimization

ah and the code....
Code:
echo "ondemand" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
echo [COLOR="Red"]80[/COLOR] > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold
echo 40 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/down_differential
echo 400000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate
echo 122880 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq
Change "80" red coloured value with 95, you should get nice effect on ondemand governor

wait i make a complete flash-able cwm for you all, @chitoka missed something
But i don't know it will compatible with nAa and minicm
I dont see any difference too...
Waiting for someone that can do a .zip file.
Here is it, Make backup before doing any tweak.... as usual
Level-up MiniCM
Edited: fix the last line.... which gives error 6 in cwm installation...
This is eating the battery i think without even testing, its like overclocking but you also make 3d 2d performance better, but still battery loss. nAa would have figured this out long before if this was good

It is normal that scores will be diff on diff cpu clock, in this case in oc cpu it's normal, scores are higher..
I wanna see if this realy works, so anybody can take screenshot before and after install this with the same cpu clock and other settings?

No problem, but if someone write about huge performance boost and reality shows that is a little diffrence so what for this mod?
I've expected more on title this thread.
This is only my opinion.
Cheers.
yeah, he said "amazing performance",

My god.... How the heck did you do it?
Benchmarks are becoming less and less meaningful as people customize and mod their systems more and more.
If I could find a USB port on a cocker spaniel and install Android on it, I could tweak the poor little guy to get 2500 on Quadrant if I really wanted to (and if I didn't have to give the dog back afterwards).
The highest my SGS go is 1517 Quadrant. How you guys mannaged to get 2000 and above.
Using Darky 9.5, dark core 1.4
I got 3147 quadrant with miui rc4 and oc to 1300MHz.

so called lag fix for start, and some other tweaks including OC.
But lag fix itself gives a huge boost in quadrant.
I do agree synthetic benchmarks suck especially concerning phones since there are many chips, and many other optimizations for particular CPUs, and they're not equal in either implementation or HW is so much different that comparisons are pointless.
For instance snapdragon might lack with raw power, and our hummingbird is better, but when it comes to SIMD instruction ALUs snapdragon wins + quadrant's optimization for snapdragon et viola...

1 - Use a RAMdisk for Quadrant storage;
2 - Use old graphics driver from NS;
3 - Overclock.
Overclocking the bus will lead to faster RAM, so faster I/O score from the RAMdisk.

Yes, 1.2GHz. Sorry^^.
At 1GHz, ~4000.
And with 1.4GHz, 4800-4900.
1.5GHz here :
Now 1.4GHz only, but with a faster bus speed, resulting in a boost on I/O and memory scores :
EDIT : Added *lololz* screenshot.
EDIT2 : Replaced *lololz* screenshot by a 1.5GHz one for even more LULZ.
EDIT3 : Added faster bus speed to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

Absolutely not. Quadrant is just very easy to fool on the I/O score, as I said : with a ramdisk.
The normal I/O score on CM7 is ~1300, resulting in about 3000 final score @ 1.5GHz. Everyone here with an i9000 can have ~4900 with a light CM7 and 1.4GHz OC using a RAMdisk. It's a dirty hack for sure.
If you take the I/O score away, all the others are genuine. In fact, except the CPU score, they are all higher @ 1.4GHz (because of a faster bus frequency).
If my phone was stable at a higher bus, 5200-5300 should be possible at 1.5GHz, and even more at 1.6GHz (unstable for now on my device until I find a way to stabilize it).

Because doixanh has done some optimization in GDX! I dont know which, but he stated 2D in main post here. tbh I think GDX is the best modded CM7 build for X8. lots of optimization etc.

Maybe there are other things that are better on the oficial CM7 than in the GDX.
The all world doesn't need to play games on the mobile phone so maybe 3D Performance doesn't need to be high for a lot of people.
So the answer to "how can anybody use cm7?" is: It depends on the use that the person do and not of your tastes. Probably more than 90% of X8 Users have a PSP, a high-end Computer, a PS2, a PS3 or any other console.
Sorry for my bad english, i'm not a native english talker.

No problem man, it happens i'm not angry with you, i'm angry with Velnens123 because he thinks that everybody is like him and wants a mobile phone to do what a console does, if he wants high FPS why he buys a X8, instead of buying a simple and cheap phone for Call/SMS and a PSP for gaming??!?
Velnens123 is only 12 years if im not wrong old so i think that is a reason why we should understand him about games on phone

Custom kernels have Free Xperia boot logo, instead of SonyEricsson. And then, CyanogenMod7 animation for FXP Roms
GingerDX is the best
Hi guys, I have an arc S from a few weeks, after several tests I found a rom that flies in quadrant, these are the results:
4030 pts without overclocking
4739 pts with overclocking @ 2000 (v15 doom-Kernel)
All the other roms, including Cyanogen v 7.2, have a maximum in 2200-2500 pts.
The rom is SE-tweaked.
How can this difference in performance?
i bet that the guy that made that rom included the quadrant hack, nothin special imo.
probable, because the result is very high, there is a way to verify this?
However, the rom runs pretty fast and without lag, much better than the original.

It's totally normal to have that score.
The guy just used the quadrant hack, if you run different benchmarks (e.g. AnTuTu, Vellamo, etc.) you'll notice that your device is nearly the same to other results.

including new roms like PrimeHD, FireDroid, GingerJHv etc.
It would be better if you could write like pros and cons including antutu score or similar otherwise its hard to understand anything just from one word or sentence without any explaining
dont make chaos here please
My favorite is Gdx
Pros:
-the smoothest scrolling ever
-perfect 2D
-nice 3D performance
-fast, stable and reliable(no FCs)
-everything is working
Cons:
-Huge battery drain!!!
I was on alfs v06 kernel running v6supercharger script oc @ 768mhz
Antutu: 1800+ (it has improved a lot for new roms especially 3D score)

Another cons for GDX is lack of updates. (I know doixanh its busy...)

not overclocked and

-great for gaming
-works almost evrithing

-Quite smooth
-No bugs
-Good for normal gaming.

Yeah that's what you usually get with FroyoPro, nothing special.

Yes, but the whole point of the thread was to show your scores LOL

Well yes! dont be lazy! ;D but thats not the most important obviuosly, the most important is how stable and fast a ROM is!
I just thought maybe this will help for someone who doesnt know which rom to choose!
And I want to know too, what others think!
I've been using MinCM7-2.1.x for the last week or so now, seems to be very stable so far with the latest nAa kernel. Has pinch-to-zoom functions, everything working (e.g. camera, radio) and has nightly builds. Great ROM, fast as hell, well worth a look at!
Update on MiniCM7-2.1.9 benchmark results (this benchmark is NOT on a clean install / has many apps installed which probably isn't the best way to benchamrk this ROM, I will update results with results from a "clean" install);
Update:
As a fresh / clean install the score is nearly identical @ 1642 SCORE.
want to see
Currently using MiniCM 2.1.9 with Naa kernel and extremely happy with it.
AtiCM v3 was extremely fast for me but was unable to install Whatsapp so switched to MiniCM.
OK.... I just benchmarked the FireDroid 1.0 ROM. - Clean ROM install with Alfs07-ICS kernel (AnTuTu, Screenshot it and TaskManager installed only!). First thoughts is this ROM is super-fast and will be amazing with some more work. Not tested too much but the first thing I noticed was no support for HPSA, only able to use 3G. Pinch-to-zoom works perfectly. Camera works, not tested radio functionality.
Benchmark results below. I noticed the SD Card Read performance was low-ish after first benchmark (benhmark app installed to phone memory in the first benchamrk, then moved it to the SD Card and re-run the test which seemed to slightly improve the data speed but decreased other functions, both outputs below):
If HSPA was working in this ROM I would happily keep using it, but I'm going back to MiniCM7 for now!
I use ROM: Achotjan Semc Debrand Engine | V1.0_Beta-2 | FreeXperia Project |
-it's nice,
- fast,
- new,
- it's look like original 2.1.C.0.0 but it's original copy of Xperia Mini.
Bugs for now:
- (wifi- for someone works),
- USSD codes problem= com.android.phone it's not resposonding
Everything work fine!
You just need unlock bootloader, nAa v11 and be happy.

Guys please post your maximum OC records & your opinions here.... Actually this topic was about a fake info. In antutu benchmark.
Blessed it is a topic for sharing your overcloking records...if you are eager to read fake information story it starts from here until page 7
Ok max oc no for me is 825
Previously on this topic:
----------+-+-------------
U are not gonna believe it but just saw the scores in antutu benchmark & the first record among x8s belongs to a xperia from GB (great Britain not Ginger bread) and it had been clocked @ 1008 mhz...
Go check it yourself...
Is it possible? My x8 is stable @ maximum 825mhz
Conclusion: It was an antutu bug.
No, it is not real
No way possible...

Yes that is not possible.. It was a problem in antutu benchmark when a person could upload scores from another device. If you see the changelog of antutu benchmark you will find this problem mentioned for one of the old versions..

U mean that guy uploaded that score from for example a galaxy s?
Sent from my X8 using xda premium
Yeah, sure 1008mhz.
i dont like OC stuff
Its risky playing with hardware when you have 600 mhz
be happy with 600 mhz
Dont expect more from it...
lol!!! 691 enough for me !!!!! I don't play games that need more oc!!!!!i ll better buy a psp!!!*yawn*!!
I am making a ROM which can make ur X8 overclock to 110000 GHz and then you can full charge it and throw it on Al-Qaeda and destroy terrorism.
You heard the man, all to Al-Qaeda!
@ HAKA
just be careful...according to rumors 110001 MHz can even destroy every kind of life in the earth

Ummm... Al Qaida? I think what you meant to say, was America! Now there's a terrorist organization worth decimating!
Pff, please your CPU will only smoke like hell and burn your PCB and your phone will die.

yes it's possible i put mine to that the other week, it's quite unstable, the only use for that is e-peen and pretty much destroying the CPU. not even im stupid enough to put it up that high and i like having a high OC
U clocked yours @ 1ghz?
Or you mean 825? Coz it is stable just should keep your phone in cool places
