Share Your OC Records Here! - XPERIA X8 General

Guys please post your maximum OC records & your opinions here.... Actually this topic was about a fake info. In antutu benchmark.
Blessed it is a topic for sharing your overcloking records...if you are eager to read fake information story it starts from here until page 7
Ok max oc no for me is 825
Previously on this topic:
----------+-+-------------
U are not gonna believe it but just saw the scores in antutu benchmark & the first record among x8s belongs to a xperia from GB (great Britain not Ginger bread) and it had been clocked @ 1008 mhz...
Go check it yourself...
Is it possible? My x8 is stable @ maximum 825mhz
Conclusion: It was an antutu bug.

No, it is not real

No way possible...

Yes that is not possible.. It was a problem in antutu benchmark when a person could upload scores from another device. If you see the changelog of antutu benchmark you will find this problem mentioned for one of the old versions..

U mean that guy uploaded that score from for example a galaxy s?
Sent from my X8 using xda premium

Yeah, sure 1008mhz.

i dont like OC stuff
Its risky playing with hardware when you have 600 mhz
be happy with 600 mhz
Dont expect more from it...

lol!!! 691 enough for me !!!!! I don't play games that need more oc!!!!!i ll better buy a psp!!!*yawn*!!

I am making a ROM which can make ur X8 overclock to 110000 GHz and then you can full charge it and throw it on Al-Qaeda and destroy terrorism.

You heard the man, all to Al-Qaeda!

@ HAKA
just be careful...according to rumors 110001 MHz can even destroy every kind of life in the earth

yes it's possible i put mine to that the other week, it's quite unstable, the only use for that is e-peen and pretty much destroying the CPU. not even im stupid enough to put it up that high and i like having a high OC

Quadrant Scores

I just wanted to add a place where people could post and brag about their blazing fast phones! Mine was 2304!! I'm currently running a Samsung Vibrant/rooted/one click lag fix. I also have an HTC HD2 running Hyperdroid v1.6 build (flawlessly)

Can someone explain why Quadrant is bs? I saw a thread talking about it really doesn't "work" the phone. If that's the cade I can understand that. But isn't it a way to compare android phones? An equal set of standards and each phone
is ranked how it meets these standards. Or Is it all made up?

Quadrant scores are a reference
Quadrant scores are just a benchmarking tools and should only be used as a reference, just like a Photo snapshot. It is not an end all too prove you have a fast or fastest setup, but IT does provide a general view of how your phone is performing.
Remember....... the slowest thing in the hardware or software is what will govern performance. an example of this would be in a desktop computer.... you get a super fast I-7 chip or maybe a SUN chip with 64 cpus. Great !! but you have this 8 yr old hard drive and Win 98.........that chip is useless . This is why some of the developers strive to build a efficient bug free rom that performs the same in or with all things loaded into the phone. And the developers here do a super job of building a variety of excellent performing roms.
Agreed they really do !!!

made from aosp 2.3 source code & possibly bits from nexus s dump
But how does the Scorpion score on 2.3?
This is excellent news, means the Dalvik Jit compiler is finally optimized to give the Hummingbird a performance boost.
But, what if this excitment is pre-mature? I want to see the nexus ONE(scorpion phone) running 2.3, what if 2.3 on a scorpion boosts their performance even more than it already did on 2.2!
Lets compare 2.3 vibrant to 2.3 scorpion, then we will know!

Scorpion is not on the nexus one
Also Quadrant doesn't test MFLOPS... linpack does
The purpose of my post to show the galaxy S phones take advantage of JIT just like the NS..even though we pretty much knew this
The scorpion CPU is nothing more than a snapdragon with updated adreno GPU will pretty much have same linpack score as N1 snapdragon
this is great, but now i want the official gingerbread, when will samsung end the misery of consumers?!?!?

No, this is supercurio's rom. He's simply showing the performance results of it. There is no fully functional Gingerbread rom for SGS phones yet. However, if supercurio continues at this pace, it may not be much longer

My god.... How the heck did you do it?
Benchmarks are becoming less and less meaningful as people customize and mod their systems more and more.
If I could find a USB port on a cocker spaniel and install Android on it, I could tweak the poor little guy to get 2500 on Quadrant if I really wanted to (and if I didn't have to give the dog back afterwards).
The highest my SGS go is 1517 Quadrant. How you guys mannaged to get 2000 and above.
Using Darky 9.5, dark core 1.4
I got 3147 quadrant with miui rc4 and oc to 1300MHz.

so called lag fix for start, and some other tweaks including OC.
But lag fix itself gives a huge boost in quadrant.
I do agree synthetic benchmarks suck especially concerning phones since there are many chips, and many other optimizations for particular CPUs, and they're not equal in either implementation or HW is so much different that comparisons are pointless.
For instance snapdragon might lack with raw power, and our hummingbird is better, but when it comes to SIMD instruction ALUs snapdragon wins + quadrant's optimization for snapdragon et viola...

1 - Use a RAMdisk for Quadrant storage;
2 - Use old graphics driver from NS;
3 - Overclock.
Overclocking the bus will lead to faster RAM, so faster I/O score from the RAMdisk.

Absolutely not. Quadrant is just very easy to fool on the I/O score, as I said : with a ramdisk.
The normal I/O score on CM7 is ~1300, resulting in about 3000 final score @ 1.5GHz. Everyone here with an i9000 can have ~4900 with a light CM7 and 1.4GHz OC using a RAMdisk. It's a dirty hack for sure.
If you take the I/O score away, all the others are genuine. In fact, except the CPU score, they are all higher @ 1.4GHz (because of a faster bus frequency).
If my phone was stable at a higher bus, 5200-5300 should be possible at 1.5GHz, and even more at 1.6GHz (unstable for now on my device until I find a way to stabilize it).

1. How are you doing a quadrant benchmark? Mine errors out at "decoding video". (10/12)
2. I am working on a 1.2 ghz overclock kernel. So far a lot of bugs, maybe that's why quadrant failed... if I succeed, I will try 1.4... if I can even out the major bugs I will release it.
Also, just want to add that on said kernel I got a 6752 overall in Chainfire...

You're likely getting an error at "decoding video" because you have used your camera. In order to get quadrant to work properly, you have to run a benchmark before you've opened the camera and caused it to force close.

I'm not sure how many times you've tried the test, but I did it about five times in a row and each time my score raised by about 150 until it steadied at 4200 or so. Make sure to free as much RAM and extra processor usage as possible using a task manager or similar. Also, are you at 1.1Ghz? That's what I'm at with the kernel that came with the CM7 pre-beta install. I believe it is faux's kernel.

Oh, sorry I didn't realize there were rules to this challenge. Honestly, I don't care about any of them as they mean absolutely nothing. I was just amusing the OP with a random benchmark. As you should know Antutu also scores on SD speed, which can cause lopsided scores and has very little to do with the day to day performance of my phone.
I know u old timers don't care, its just for fun for us noobs!!!

I'm an overclocker at heart but for the phones....it doesn't really matter once it runs smooth. But I still do test out my benchmarks at times to see what each rom produces.

I'm an overclocker at heart but for the phones....it doesn't really matter once it runs smooth. But I still do test out my benchmarks at times to see what each rom produces.

beat this score and tell us how you did it:
This is why benchmarks mean absolutely nothing unless your a noob. http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-hacks/25510-quadrant-benchmark-score-improvement.html
I'll find some more links in time
Benchmarks can also be manipulated I'll find some links to those to. And you know the higher scores you get the more the battery is going to drain...
You're lucky I dont have either of my first two shifts... Those things had boss cpu's... Ill flash an aosp rom and post... And antutu is biased bro, no matter which way you look at it, it is biased... Post linpacks and quadrant standard as they measure the phones performance and not the sd card...

Read this info on setcpu...the higher frequency you cpu is running at the more your battery is going to drain. And when you think about it it's really hard on your phone to run at those higher frequencies, both on the cpu and the battery. So if you want to drain/overheat your battery look for the best benchmark in rom/kernel. It will be faster than crap but again it's a toss-up. If you want battery to last run a rom/kernel that will get lower benchmarkmark scores but still runs smooth. A lot of things play into benchmarks, performance and battery not just the kernel, but the rom and device as well. Just do some research you'll see what I mean.
