I have htc Desire . My Link2sd app is not recognizing my partition on sd card , pleas tell me how to properly partition it ? Im using Amon ra recovery. I m using link2sd version 1.9.9 .

I have managed to partition my sd card to fat32 with Minitool software , but i get error in link2SD: imageshack.us/photo/my-images/41/20111215205401.png/ (open link to se error)
pleas help me , how to fix this ?
it is workin !!!!! the problem was that i had s-on and not s-off.

Hi all.I managed to partition my sd card (4gb) via cwm recovery.After partitionating i wipe cache partitions and data.
After that my phone boot normaly and i create fs.data2sd in etc folder.
The question is why internal memory is already full with 10 apps:|.
How can i check what is working and what no...i want to install more apps in my phone
Need help fast...i need to go in a trip.

fs.data2sd should be in /sdcard/Android/data/fugumod for fugumod kernel
or
fs.data2sd should be in /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod for g3mod kernel

i recently got a 16GB partitioned the same using CWM 1GB ext4 swap0 and have been using various roms with apps2sd everything seems to work fine
so do this
1. Format ur SD Using ur phone (take a backup of ur sd before doing this)
2. use CWM and do the partition again then flash the rom again and it should work
im right now using kilros 7.0 and everything is fine & i have 150MB free on my SD all app are getting installed on the SD only so may be u can try this rom
after doing the Ext4

i do like you but now when i installed kyrillos v7 my phone is freeze at boot logo with some sounds....idk why...i flashed 2 times right now and nothing...i need fast help my phone is dead

I DONE.omg i really done thanks for your help haree...the problem was i think in reinstalling rom after partitioning...Thanks alot finaly i managed a2sd to work .
just flashed kyrillos 7 2 days back and partitioned via cwm for the first time.. wiped data.. restored titanium location to internal.. but can get it whether all is doing ok or not..
this is what i am getting:
system rom 219mb .. 33.2 free
internal 201 mb .. 145mb free
sd card 3.31gb .. 2.4 gb
sd card (a2sd) 479mb .. 355 mb
is this fine ??? hv installed quite a few apps .. plz chk n tell whether i did ok or not???

1st of all , i tried to update my x8 with gingerdx v 21 to v22 and some how found out that alfs kernel + swap partition thread . I'm with 8 gb class 4 sdcard btw.
i followed the guide and successfully partitioned my sd card . but my sd card is shown as blank or unsupported system after the reboot ..
so i used the seus to flash back to elcair and with swapper2 , i could swap the phone and the sd card went normal . .
sad case .. after i flash back to v22 gingerdx . the problem start again ...
grrr . it's been 4 days my phone went like this .. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME T_T
1.fat32 6290MB
2.ext3 1024MB
3.swap 256MB

go to alfs kernel thread, flash the new update vold patch, flash gingerDx again..if your problem persists about the sdcard, JUST PARTITION AGAIN your sdcard..if you flash the new vold patch, your problems about swap and partitions gone..

I suggest using 4EXT recovery to partition your SD card, it did it simple and easy. It's so nice a recovery i bought it, no regrets at all.
Then you'll have to install a rom with an app2sd script that will use the ext4 partition to extend your phone's memory

as i was changng vit roms d data/apps of earlier roms in sdext r mixing up vit new roms apps in sdext.(i was thiking),cos wen im trying to instal an app it is asking "the old data vil b replacing" kinda msg wch mean dat d app was already instaled.but i cudnt see dat app anywhere.

You can do it easily if you install a kernel with included CWM (Savies Kernel Rev 73)
You can find an option Format ext or sd-ext or 2nd partition there, it only works with CWM included kernels, sd-ext doesnt seem to mount with madteam/skin (the one thats flashable CWM)

You got CWM for that, if you are asking about creating, you dont need an inbuilt one, just flash cwm by madteam(or skin) via stock recovery, go to advanced-> partition sd card-> Give sizes -> Wait till its complete -> Partition done
For formatting ONLY sd-ext or for formatting sd-ext without losing sd card contents you need an inbuilt CWM..it can be done also with terminal emulator, but Im not sure about that..

Yes, Along with Merruk, Savies Kernel Rev 73 got that one, its the best imo in performance..
Hi im on cod rom usin merruk kernel and trying to partition my sd card using the built in cwm. Usually if i use the partition sd card on temporary cwm it takes a while to complete but in the built in cwm in merruk kernel it is fast and does not partition my sd card at all. Btw im using mt kernel dev edition 7

MOUNT sdcard before partioning ur sdcard....
and prefer cwm over minitool to partion ur sd card.....

minitool can partition without losing data. i used cwm to partition and my sd card was wiped clean
