In win mobile, it had a default radio. It also had no data dropping. Could this work good for me? Currently, I'm using the radio 2.15.50.##. Please and thank you.

2.15.50.x is what works best for most. most devices are already loaded with it and i personally get best reception, battery life, etc.
one MIGHT want to try 2.12.xx ... i did try it, reception SLIGHTLY better (in my opinion), yet, battery drainage did not justify the VERY slight gain.
My reception is good in 2.15.50, it just drops like every 1 minute for about 10 seconds.

2.15.50 had a lot of people complaining about calls dropping.
I have tested all the popular radios for 2 months at a time & in over 8 countries & 12 network providers.
After my tests the best all round radio on WM was 2.12.50.02_2 . no call dropping, good battery life & signal/data connections.
2.15.50.14 is popular with Android users more so than WM .
For more details on 2.15.50 call dropping just do a search, loads of threads on it.
Ill give 2.12 a try. I tried the other radio's like 2.13, 2.14, etc. Had no reception.

2.15.50 is the latest and best radio. I use it for a long time now and never had problems ...
I used both 2.12 and 2.15 with Android. I have to say that 2.12 worked the best for me. I noticed better battery life and slightly better reception in really low reception areas. I am on T-Mobile US.

Latest is not always the greatest. 2.15.50 is good for most users but not faultless ... trouble is too many users just like new build numbers ...

Of course you are right that the latest one is not allways the best but for me the latest radio is in this case best.

And you're on Android, most android HD2 users prefer 2.15.50 too ...

What radio would you recommend me flashing when using CyanogenMod Rom..Anyone have any ideas or input
I would recommend you try all 3 radios and see what one works best for you. For me the latest one is the best, but i still have some problems with 3G connection. The latest also gives me 3G in areas i never got 3G before too. I compared this with my G1 seating next to my N1. My G1 would have 100% all bars in 3G where my N1 would have about 1 to 2 bars less. Over all the latest radio has been the best. Only thing is is that for some ppl the older radios work better. You just need to try out all 3 and see what one works best for you.
It might also depend on where you are. I am in Australia, the original radio was crap, it cut out 3g and drained my battery to all hell in the process. I updated to ERE27, and i have no problems at all, and no desire to move to ERE36B, in case it is not as good. 3g never cuts out, i am in an office with concrete walls and still have 4 bars. try ERE27, if that doesn't satisfy you, then by all means move to ERE36B, but it is not necessary in all cases.
I would recommend searching and perhaps reading any of the other threads titled "Radio".
Anyone in the DC area recommend an updated radio? I'm still on stock, and battery life is.....not so hot when I'm using the 3g radio.
I'm terrified to do radio flashes, but if someone can say whether they have a better radio for this area, I'll be willing to give it a try, after checking it 10 times to make sure it is a CDMA radio! LOL.
Thanks in advance.
I used the newest one from Fresh and then I went to one that is a bit older, but is based off of Verizon. It is simply the best! Here is the link http://geekfor.me/radio/baseband-232401109/
I also recomend using Freshs Roms, they are amazing and have great battery life!
I bougt T-Mobile HD2 two weeks ago
I have 2 sim cards and I use the primary sim in a Nokia N70
then I decided to switch to my new HD2
then I noticed the crappy signal and that it drops inside my house
while my other sim card from the same carrier working flawlessly on my nokias N70 & 1110 ??
so I tried to Google for a solution and some forums suggested that I flash a new radio....
I know how to flash a radio but I dont know which radio fixes the poor reception problems
so I asking for your experience in this great forum to guide me through this dilemma..
thanks in advance
TMOUS HD2 , using Froyo 2.2 with stock TMOUS Radio: 2.15.50.14
Im afraid its all trial and error, If I were you I'd try the newest one and work backwards....
You'll need to give it a day or two to settle in before you make a decision on if its better or not though.....
Edit
Just noticed you have the newest radio so you might be better starting from 2.08.50 and going up the way...... its pot luck really though.
And seeing as you have a TMOUS I cant help but feel obliged to remind you NEVER to flash a radio with .51. in the name........
2.12.50_02 gives me an excellent reception as well as battery life.
thank you very much
I'll be trying 2.10 and 2.12
and see what happens
I surly hope I wont brick my phone....
I searched through the threads and really couldn't get a definitive answer I know a lot of people will say there isn't really any best radio just one that is best for you. With that said is the anyone in from this thread in the USA specifically in the Virginia Area more specifically in the Hampton Roads / Williamsburg area running TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 RC1+ v2.4.4 on their HD2?
Currently I am running this build on my HD2 with radio 2.15 but everyone who I talk to tells me I sound like I'm talking like I'm on speaker, in the bathroom, hallway, etc.
With that said anyone else running this Build with a different radio in this area with better experience?
Thanks to all who answer
try a 2.12 radio. in my experience anything before 2.12 doesnt work good at all. 2.12.50.02 seemed to work ok for me, but i still went back to 2.15.

Ya I just put on 2.12 lets see what happens I guess
2.12 fixed the problem I called one of my buddies who was the first one to say he you sound like your on speaker or in a bathroom or whatever and now he says it sounds like a regular call, plus on 2.15 I was getting like two bars three tops now I'm getting full bars to maybe one less then full at all times.
Thanks
Is there a fix for reception drops? Using radio 2.15.50.##(I think 41). But my reception drops like hell no matter what I do. Also, can someone post what " EDGE, G, and H " means?

Part 2 of your request: different data rates:
G: GPRS up to 115kbit/s
E: EDGE up to 236 kbit/s
3G: UMTS up to 384 kbit/s
H: HSPA up to 14.4 Mbit/s
As for data drops, if you are using nand android there are various data drop issues.
alternatively, I never got on with 2.15.50, weak reception and dropping signal. I much prefer 2.11.50
Now I know G is bad. It stays on edge, since I put 2g only, and running Hyperdroid.

Should I try a new radio? Or just reinstall the current radio?

radio
I would find the radio best suited to your location. Many posts have said this
Are there any disadvantages in any radio? I just want the reception to stop going out and coming back after about 2 minutes.

if you read any of the countless threads about which radio is best, you will see that there is no rhyme or reason, no pattern to what works where and for whom on what network.
Best thing you can do is download a few and try them. 2.10.50, 2.11.50 and 2.15.50 seemed to get the most attention if i remember correctly, but 2.07.50 and above (so long as its ..50..) will all work with magldr android, 576 trick or whatever type of rom you use.
I remember the only thing that was marginally agreed on was that there was a feeling that (at least under winmo) 2.15.50's new power saving actually caused signal drop.
Summary - don't bother pre-analysing, all the radios do the same thing, you wont gain/lose any function by switching radio. try a few and find which one feels right for you.

I can flash a radio while nand android is installed by going to the screen with red, green, and white. Or something..... I forgot. :/

Correct, into bootloader, connect USB, flash radio, reboot.
