Is there a fix for reception drops? Using radio 2.15.50.##(I think 41). But my reception drops like hell no matter what I do. Also, can someone post what " EDGE, G, and H " means?

Part 2 of your request: different data rates:
G: GPRS up to 115kbit/s
E: EDGE up to 236 kbit/s
3G: UMTS up to 384 kbit/s
H: HSPA up to 14.4 Mbit/s
As for data drops, if you are using nand android there are various data drop issues.
alternatively, I never got on with 2.15.50, weak reception and dropping signal. I much prefer 2.11.50
Now I know G is bad. It stays on edge, since I put 2g only, and running Hyperdroid.

I would find the radio best suited to your location. Many posts have said this
Are there any disadvantages in any radio? I just want the reception to stop going out and coming back after about 2 minutes.

if you read any of the countless threads about which radio is best, you will see that there is no rhyme or reason, no pattern to what works where and for whom on what network.
Best thing you can do is download a few and try them. 2.10.50, 2.11.50 and 2.15.50 seemed to get the most attention if i remember correctly, but 2.07.50 and above (so long as its ..50..) will all work with magldr android, 576 trick or whatever type of rom you use.
I remember the only thing that was marginally agreed on was that there was a feeling that (at least under winmo) 2.15.50's new power saving actually caused signal drop.
Summary - don't bother pre-analysing, all the radios do the same thing, you wont gain/lose any function by switching radio. try a few and find which one feels right for you.

Thanks!!!

yes, this is a very great phone, you could sell it for at least $150
and if you achieve s-off and root on it, even more.
ooooh lord, well i will have to ship it back to the US where i can get more for this device, and it's rooted and S-OFF, also using the Virtuous ROM
my 3 year old son just dropped the g..d d...n cellphone and the camera it's not working, the rest of the phone is intact, so i have taken a decision, which HTC cellphone has the same spec hardware wise like the mt4g with this bands? 850mhz and 1900mhz??? am welling to brick my phone by testing it with another cellphone radio firmware and if it works, i will be able to enjoy at least 4g internet if it doesn't well the camera is damaged so i already lost 300 bucks.
Thanks for helping me out with this....
i found on google this code *#*#4636#*#* it takes you to a hidden menu where you can select different things, am wondering if someone can make a hack and enable the rest of the bands.
right now am just delirating
It is impossible to change the frequency on your phone. Stop trying to figure it out cause there is only one outcome and that is a bricked device. You are better off using it as a mini tablet then to brick your phone. You will never get it to work on any other frequencies then the ones listed....ever. I will repeat no matter what you do you will only end up with a dead device. So just don't do it

The frequencies the phone works on belong to a chip on the board. This is hardware, not software. Sorry.

Every time I go from my school to my house(and vice versa) I have to restart my phone or I can't load any web pages (besides Google,Facebook, twitter) I have tested this everyday for a couple months and the only solution I have is that my school uses a different tower than my house does ( roughly 5 miles away).
Thanks

Rom shouldn't matter too much as far as I'm aware. Beyond your conclusion of it being the towers, I can't think of other possible problems. Only possible solution I can think of is re-flashing the radio (if you haven't yet) or flashing back one (if the problem only exists on the the newest), assuming you aren't on a stock rom. If you are on stock, I'm sorry to not be of much help =/.

I have to reboot to get my phone to charge off a USB cord connected to a computer. Using Neutrino 2.1, haven't bothered upping to 2.2... need something more stable and full featured.
I was using the 37P radio until today when I realised I was not getting certain web pages as you describe. I couldn't get XDA to connect unless I went to WiFi. Went back to 36P radio and all is well again. I think the 37P radio is borked!
Go back to 36P radio and you will be good.

This has nothing to do with the threads subject. Why is it here?
I recently upgraded to the .37p radio and have the same problem when my phone switches from 2g to h+ which happens a lot where I live. I just use the mobile data toggle button to turn it off and on and it works again. Hope this helps, it's much faster than rebooting and accomplishes the same thing.

Ignorance?
Here is the new radio that i pulled from the new ota v 2.15.10.12.20. You can get it here PB31IMG.zip - MD5
My dBm's went from around -92 to -95 to around -83 to -85, major improvement.
Thanks! Went from -88 to -79 after flashing. Will test it out tomorrow in the tough spots and see how it does.
Excuse my noobiness but when flashing this, will I be prompted automatically in hboot as long as it's in the root of my sd card? Or do I have to navigate somewhere in hboot for it to take?
Sent from my Gameboy Color
Should automaticly find it and prompt to press vol up to update. Must be named exactly PB31IMG.zip and in no folder on your sd. The file should already be named correctly.
Wow.. I usually sit around -72 to -80
This put me at -50 through -60+
Probably the best radio I've used, kinda curious how it will hold up on the Cm9 Touchwiz Rom. I hardly ever get in the green when looking at the battery. Hopefully this boosts it.

Thanks

I see an improvement. Low 60's to mid 70's in my office, 83 to low 90's in the elevator and mid 70's in the bathroom. Huge difference in the elevator, it would be high 90's before and sometimes 1x.
Call quality has always been an issue for me, hope this helps some. Too bad I never get calls.

My Previous Radio results:
-83 to -85 at house 2nd Floor.
New Radio results:
-73 to -85 at house 2nd Floor.
Obviously, I need to do more testing before I make any judgement....just wanted to throw up my initial results.
Totally anecdotal, but it seems like my call quality went way up. It used to be hard for me to understand what the hell other people were saying, and the voice would cut out during conversation, but the couple calls I've had today were crystal clear.
I have a question though. Even before flashing this, I've been having force close issues with google framework stuff. I was thinking of reloading a nandroid I made a month ago. Will the new radio that I've flashed cause any issues with the backup?

No nothing to worry about. That is put there for people who use the htcdev site to unlock there bootloader. If you would like to unlock it you can. It gives you the ability to use extended fastboot commands such as flashing an img file located on your pc to your phone, and some others.
I suspect it's the radio. I keep getting crappy signal apparently with the Panache stock recently. It's taken to a new level now with no service out in the middle of the street. Is there anything I can do than try to switch radios? Even right now, I keep getting switched from 3G to HSPA+.

Radio Issue
I have a MT4G running 4.2.2 on LiquidSmooth and I cant get anything over 3g even in areas where I previously had awesome 4g service (on stock 2.3.4). I checked my md5 and it does not match any other radio/baseband's md5. I'd really like my 4g back but I also don't want to brick my phone. Currently my md5 is showing up as 60de66c8b88d27b9a3bbae385b7f71dc and have yet to find one anywhere to match it. I am fairly new to rooting androids ( I had an iPhone for like 5 years and I just got fed up with the limitations even when it was jailbroken) I read a forum about extracting the radio.img from a stock rom but I was still iffy about the md5 not matching. Absolutely any advice would be great. Thanks in advance (and apologies in advance if I somehow posted this in the wrong place or something)

"4G" and 3G use the same hardware. None, I repeat, NONE of the available radios break "4G." What you're seeing is a difference in the icons used. Whereas the stock GB ROM simply shows "4G" when using HSPA+, the AOSP variants show 3G when idle and switch to H/H+ when data is being used. There is nothing you need to change. It's a gimmick that often evokes a placebo effect.

Thanks for the quick reply and thank you again for clarifying that. But when I ran speed test my download speed is showing around 350kb/s when I usually get around 1.5 mb/s. I recently asked my friends in the area that also have t mobile and they said they've experienced a decent loss in speed/signal just in the past month or so. So is it possible that another baseband might increase my signal strength at least? Because if it's not possible/effective than I feel like I'd be wasting time trying to fix my md5 issue.

If you're worried about the radio, download a different one, verify the md5 ON THAT DOWNLOAD and flash it. Feel free to report the speed difference, if there is one.
Anybody else having data issues when it comes to the newer .48 radio with T-Mobile? My data is constantly dropping and I'm in a great coverage area. (Always 3-4 bats with hpsa+) I wasn't having this problem with 4.2.1 roms and the .33 radio. I tried to revert back to using the .33 radio and the .27 radio with my 4.2.2 rom but no luck. I don't hear audio in calls and it seems like .48 will only work. Anybody else in this dilemma and how have you solved it?
To be honest, the data drops don't annoy me as much. It's the reconnecting that bugs me. Some times it takes 1-2 minutes to reconnect.

try redownloading/reflashing it?
Same here.
Constant dropping. And sometimes it will stay in E/G mode and not switch to H even when in a known strong H area.
Losing signal all the time as well.
I can barely make phone calls and when I do, there is static.
Starting to HATE t-mobile....the data speeds are fast, if only you can get a signal.
I've even tried new sim cards, and no change.
Anyone have any other suggestions on Carriers for this phone? plan price is not an issue, I just want quality.
I've noticed similar issues with my TMo sim but not my straight talk at&t one. I just attributed it to bad service or coverage by TMo. If it is a radio issue however, and someone can confirm it, this could be very interesting. Would be willing to downgrade to .27. Tried .33 but noticed little difference except larger battery drain. Glad I'm not only one experiencing this issue as well though.

Maybe it's time to go back to 4.2.1 rasbean for good. But that means no more flashing
Edit: I wonder if using a different recovery would effect it. I'm using twrp recovery, but maybe should try it with cwm recovery. Or even fast boot.

I'm curious which ROM or kernel you may be using. I have been thinking of trying this baseband out. Even though I rarely make calls, the times I do I would prefer the audio to work. I'm using Franco kernel r102 and trailblazerz11's CM 10.1.
