HELP! Big problem on htc Magic 32A

Dear Xda members,
I need your help,
My htc Magic has been damaged!
When I start it, nothing happens.
The recovery mode doesn t work: I can see it but just few seconds.
The fastboot is still working.
Is it possible to rescue my phone?

If fastboot is working then you are most likely able to fix it! cant give you any details since for some reason, you decided not to provide any details on your phone and what went wrong. now that you know you may be able to fix it, start doing some searches.

In fact I cannot push the package with adb: it does not recognize my device
Consequently I am not able to flash with fastboot.
Any way to push the files without adb?

you can try to copy the update.zip to your sdcard manually with an adapter via computer ...

Yes I tried, but no result, I put the recovery.img in the sdcard
when I run the fastboot I do:
fastboot boot boot.img
I receive
cannot load 'boot.img'

you can try the attach files.
But please be sure your 32A is rooted, and non perfect SPL or original SPL.
convert at fastboot mode, download the four attach files

If you want to use 1.33SPL,then just in fastboot mode, unzip the attach file convert1.33.zip, enter the file, double click the convert.bat, press any key, wait for several mins, your SPL, radio and recovery will be flashed. Reboot in recovery mode flash your ROM(1.33SPL ROM). Before above steps, you should put your ROM on your SD card.
If you want to use 1.76SPL, do the same steps above.(1.76SPL ROM)

But when I try with 1..33
At every writing I have
'FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)'
If I try 1,76, is it dangerous?

Then you shoulde first flash your SPL to 1.33.2010 S-OFF, Radio 3.22.xx.
DON'T FORGET THE COMBINATION SPL 1.33.XX IS FOR RADIO 3.22.XX, SPL 1.76.XX IS FOR RADIO 6.35.XX.
Otherwise, you will brick.
OK, I have searched this. Probably you didn't unlock your bootloader. Boot your phone in fastboot mode. If your OS is windows, win + R, cmd, cd to your "convert1.33" folder. Then try the following code:
fastboot oem unlock

Then hit accept to throw out your warranty. This will also cause the signature check to stop failing, allowing you to fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
If this is done, double click convert(wether 1.33 or 1.76). Wait for several mins, job will be done.
If above steps don't work, maybe you need to make a gold card.

What is better: use 1.76 and up-date the spl or use 1.33 and down-grade the spl?

Use 1.33 should be better.
First, try this in fastboot mode, "fastboot oem unlock ".
Then double click convert in convert1.33 folder.
If it does not work, try to flash recovery(in the convert1.33 folder) in fastboot.

I wanted to load cursor sense, but i have same problem: when i type fastboot flash hboot hbot-1.33.2010.img it says: FAILED (remote: signature verify fail), i've downloaded convert to1.33 files, CD'd to convert1.33 folder , tryed fastboot oem unlock but again, i get COMMAND ERROR.. Thanks

I cannot unlock, it seems the commad does not exist.
I tried the gold card method, but I cannot find my microSD ID

I've solved my problem... all you need to do is copy spl 1.33.2010 spl ZIPPED in your sd card root, go to recoverz and click on apply update.zip.. wait a second, then reboot..

In fact I do not have the recovery mode anymore

Yes, I am in Shanghai. And are you Chinese or do you understand Chinese? If yes, I can communicate with you easily, for my english is not very good.
The combination of your SPL and Radio is strange. (1.33.xx with 3.22.xx, 1.76.xx with 6.35.xx). But you are 1.33.xx with 6.35.xx.
So, my idea is :
1. convert SPL 1.33.xx to 1.76.xx, or
2. convert Radio 6.35.xx to 3.22.xx
If above two methods are not available, you can try to make a gold card and use RUU to install offical ROM.
Otherwise, you can also go to Shanghai Railway Station. There is a "不夜城" market. You can find a place to repaire your phone(not recommended, maybe expensive). This is the last way.

i think i brick my phone...how when i power on,it only keeps on boot into htc magic...so is there any think i can do or?

i dont have a fasboot & recovery access...
i root my phone with universal androot,using rom manager i successfully flash recovery,then i download rom..i kinda like want to look around the rom manager app and i accidentally press ok with the backup & clear cache?the phone start to restart and now i cant turn on my phone

its because of the perfected spl right?

From what I can see,with my limited experience, either you left out a part after "s-on", or your phone thinks its neither HTC nor google.
It should say S-ON H
And I dont think that 0007 is perfected.
But I'm a noob and would wait for mumilover to respond...

How did you get this info....
I don't believe that rom-manager has the power to **** up your fastboot.
Recovery and system, maybe - but not fastboot.
When you hold back-button and power-button together what do you see?
Write it down here or take a picture or what ever...
Can you see fastboot?
If you can't see anything beside flash screen then i can't help you!

when i hold back+power (recovery) & hold menu+power (fastboot) nothing happen...all i can see is the "htc magic"
its ok then...i've email the service centre & their say if they can reflash the rom successfully their will charge me rm80

Hey Guys and Girls,
This is my first time posting on this site. I have run into a similar issue and have attempted to post on numerous sites without having any luck solving the problem.
The quick version: I ran z4root to root my phone; it said successful. I then installed Rom Manager and switched my recovery to Clockwork (the most recent one). Next I downloaded the latest CM6 from the Rom Manager with GApps. After having unsuccessful attempts at backing up and wiping first, I decided to try installing the Rom without backing up or wiping data. The Rom install worked this time (I got installation successful). However, when the phone rebooted itself, it never got past the Rogers screen. It is now in a constant state of rebooting until I pull the battery.
I can get to fastboot, but cannot get to the recovery screen. My HTC Magic 32A specs from the fastboot menu are:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.76.0010 (SAP50000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-6.35.16.19
Some other info that may help:
-my PC recognizes my phone (I have been trying the Radio Switcher v.GUI 4.1 and it says the phone is connected) but it is not allowing me to flash anything.
-When I try "adb devices" it gives error: no device attached but "fastboot devices" gives me a number.
-I have tried putting "recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0H" on my sdcard, but the HBoot says no image or wrong image
-The Radio Switcher v.GUI 4.1 says my phone is not rooted
-I tried the goldcard method of rooting, but because I can't get the phone to recognize the sdcard, I can't get a proper CID for the goldcard creator
Hopefully I've provided enough info to get some help. I am waiting patiently, but am starting to get sick of the old Sony Ericsson Anything helps!

Run this 2 commands in fastboot and post here the ourput.

You have to make a goldcard... if you can't make it using your device, then do it using any other android device.
When you have made the goldcard come back here, and i'll guide through the rest :0)

Done. I made a gold card previously...hopefully it still works. Once it's made into a goldcard, is it always a goldcard?

Actually... re-checking your info - you don't need a goldcard..
No need for sdcard either...
Download this sappimg.zip :

Then run this command from a command prompt:

Make sure that the sappimg.img is in the same folder as fastboot.exe
The sappimg.zip is the newest rogers update... the same version as you currently have...
No need for goldcard or anything :0)
if you get any troubles, then post here the outcome of the command prompt..
When all is done, you should be back on stock 2.1...
From there you follow my guide (check my signature) to root and get custom recovery.

when a tryed to updade with sapping file, in the radio part, the screen became dark, then white.

I had the same problem as a few of you and after trying everything I eventually decided to try installing SAPPIMG.zip from hboot and it worked fine. Took me a while to find the correct SAPPIMG but you should be able to find it on the forums here. You have to put the SAPPIMG.zip on the root of your SD card from your computer, put it in the phone, boot into fastboot and go into hboot and it'll load the SAPPIMG file. If you have the wrong SAPPIMG it'll usually give you an error when trying to install it'll say someting like update failed or wrong device ID. It took me about 4-5 different SAPPIMG to find the correct one for my phone.

At the time My HTC Magic is working, but I can't root and also in the ROM it self missing android market.
then installed Universal androd and working...Last night i just tried to factory reset and The phone starts the box with the arrow and then after a few seconds it shutdowns, any idea to get in fastboot or just make HTC start normally

Hmm... try this:

fastboot oem rebootRUU
The above will set the device into RUU mode.
Then download the official rogers RUU..
Run it and it should install just fine... no need for goldcard or sdcard..

i have installed rogers stock 1.5 rom through gold card method and i wanted to update it to stock 2.1.
but i think i put the wrong update.zip file in sd card,bcos of that my spl chaged.
now can go to the fastboot and hboot mode and in stock recovery but when i start the phone it stuck at htc magic screen and nothing.i think this is bcos of wrong spl.i have tried to update the rom through gold card but that doesnot work not even in hboot mode through sappimg.zip file.
pls help me how can i back my phone to normal.

How to go from 1.76.0009 to 1.33.2009 (new radio to old) without SD card?

Simple... change the version nr to what ever you want.... like 1.00.000.1
Then flash this file using a goldcard... it will give you eng spl and the old radio/spl combo.

Or we can do A LOT of linux commands to redirect your sdcard path to something else and flash eng spl from there...

I can give you eng spl + stock image of anything you want... (.img files)
Flashing a rom (zip file) without sdcard can not be done afaik.
You could use path redirection or mounting a different partition as sdcard but you don't have any partition big enough to hold the rom file (bigger than 100 mb). You could use data or system, but then again, the rom will most likely overwrite it.. so sdcard is necessary :0|
Start by running these commands:

The goldcard hack is bound to the goldcard and not the device.
So, yes!
You can make a goldcard on ANY android device and it will work on ANY android device

My G2 is TIM version, I update the SPL to 1.33.0014 by accident. now there is NO Rom and NO Recovery in the phone, I'm already official unlocked but I can't use the fastboot flash Recovery or something else . I try lots of RUU but all of them has unknown fault whatever with or with out goldcard . If I use sappimg.zip to fastboot and there is no "do you want to start update? " , when the bar finish it just back to fastboot screen .
I've almost tried everything and all of didn't work. I can do nothing

I'm pretty sure you have to re-lock the bootloader before you try to flash RUUs. Type "fastboot oem lock" and then "fastboot reboot-bootloader". Don't worry about locking the bootloader, you can use the same Unlock_code.bin you got from HTCDEV to unlock it as many times as you want.
While you're at the command line, could you also run "fastboot getvar version-main" and tell me the number it gives you?
