[Q] Uninstalling HSPL by Hard resetting phone? - HD2 General

Hello,
My HD2 is defected and I am trying to send it back for another one. The touchscreen doesnt work so I cant take off hspl the way i put it on. I did however hard reset the phone and now it is not showing HSPL on the boot colored screen, only spl 2.08. Is that ok, or will tmobile still know I was messing with the software and charge me for the malfunctioned phone. Any help is appreciated.

totally missed the important part, does it say 2.08.0000 or 2.08.hspl?
if it says 2.08.0000 then yea thats fine, if it says 2.08.hspl then no, it isn't.

never mind.. sam was faster, as always of course
That means you still have HSPL, you can uninstall it by using the package you used to install it.
VVVVV

It says spl 2.08 Hspl 8g....

I cant uninstall it the same way i installed it because my touchscreen is unresponsive. So when I connect my phone to the computer i cant click on sync so my phone is just thinking I want to charge it.

dont need touchscreen, you didnt use the touchscreen when you installed hspl either.
phone into bootloader
connect usb
run hspl3 or hspl4
choose 2.08.0000 and its stock.
actually, you didnt say if its a tmous or not, if its NOT a tmous, then spl 2.anything will NOT be stock, because 2.x is for tmous (t mobile us)
in this case you would need to use hspl2 or hspl4 and set spl 1.42.0000 or 1.66.0000 or 3.03.0000

I tried running hspl4 while in bootloader but I keep getting an error message saying "the application has failed to start becasue RAPI.dll was not found.."

rapii is caused by windows mobile dev center (or active sync if on xp) not being the latest version. find the MS page for wmdc (or AS) and download it.

Thank you so much guys. It worked. HSPL is off and its only showing SPL 2.08. Does the radio matter?

help me too

pretty sure thats the wrong hspl2.
Use teh link in my sig to get hspl1024 and compare it to the one you have,
I agree sounds like the wrong hspl. When you actually flash it the hspl should be 2.08.0000 not 2.0.0000 as the unlocker provides 2 options.

or did you mean to say "When you actually flash it the hspl should be 2.08.hspl not 2.08.0000 as the unlocker provides 2 options."
I was referring to the actual ruu, when the window displays on your pc it needs to be the 2.08.000 hspl, once the phone is unlocked the spl line will read 2.08.hspl like you stated.
thanx guys i will try SAMSAMUAL's HSPL2_1024_RUN and c if it goes through.thanx
thank u SAMSAMUEL that was the right HSPL.thanks to u and other i've finally succcessfully flashed my first WM phone.
all credit goes to Bepe, Cotulla and the DFT whos genius gave us HSPL

hspl3 is just an updated hspl1024, updated to support more model id's. You can use either. hspl1024 is on page 99 of the HSPL thread, however yes, you can use hspl3 in my sig. choose 2.08.hspl not 2.08.0000(0000 is stock)
When you say so you can switch to android, you dont mean the youtube vid and connected site with the 'android beta OS installer' do you? which says you need hspl 1.42.hspl? cos thats a fake.
Please People...I really need help here..My phone make me crazy...
I try to flash my EU HTC HD2 with Android Nand rom and i have problem with that so i decide to put everithing on default with stock rom...
I download it and try but all the time error 290, and i read and read and somebody said that i need to have 1.42.HSPL (in that moment mine was 2.08. HSPL) ...so i do that with the HSPL2_Run and all procedure to back my hd2 to STOCK was faild again...
So i decide to turn beck HSPL to 2.08.HSPL and install some CustomRUU but from that point i have the same
CRITICAL ERROR
FLOW:00000003
ERROR CODE:00000004
DESCRIPTION:BAD MODEL ID....
I use HSPL2_RUN and HSPL4...and it was working...but now just error...What happend? What can i do?
How that can work in one moment and in another not... :-/
Forward Thankful...
In bootloader, what does the top line of text say?
same problem as Camsy..
in top right of bootloader i've RUUNBH, and after this there's 8g8g8g8 SS-BC.
Now i've loaded hspl.3.03 but i want to downgrade at hspl2 cause hspl3 is not compatible with my hd2.

Issues with flashing HSPL on my Leo

Hi,
I wanted to port Android on my Leo and I have issues with flashing the HSPL first (I was using the Gold Card method to flash new FW so far).
I have downgraded to 1.66 with SPL 1.42, then I tried to HSPL my device with using HSPL3_PKG.exe from XDA. When I start the .exe the phone goes into Bootloader showing first Serial, then USB(I installed the HTC USB drivers per installing HTC Sync), the program allows me to flash 2.08 HSPL and then the flash starts as the status bar moves from left to right constantly but nothing happens on the device, even not after 10 Minutes, I pull off my Leo and it boots fine but no HSPL flash, I am still on SPL 1.42. What am I doing wrong? (I am using Parallels on a MAC btw).
Any comments?
Thanks
Any able to help?

This should answer all of your questions :

I recommend upgrading your SPL to 2.08 as I have flashed HSPL 2.08 and haven't had any problems whatsoever in the past 4-5 months of having this phone. First time installation worked like a charm

I just tried to run HSPL3_PKG.exe, when I choose SPL 2.08.0000 and run it, the program starts, I choose SPL 2.08.000 and then it starts, the bar moves from left to right, but nothing happens on the phone...
Got it to work finally! It just wouldn't work on my Windows XP via Paralells on a MAC, I used a Windows 7 Machine, all good now, my Leo is HSPL 2.08 and got a NAND Android OS on it...finally a phone that one can use now

[Q] Cant install HSPL on HTC HD2 running SPL 1.66

Hi All,
i have a HTC HD2,
Its on radio: 2.07.51
ROM: 1.72
SPL 1.66 XE
Windows OS.
I have downloaded the HSPL4 package from a thread on this site, extracted it, synced my phone to computer, full battery, however when i run the HSPL4 software it runs through and sees the phone, processes through and then sys on the phone "its been hacked" so i click ok on my computer screen and then an error appears saying its failed.
So phone is still on windows. I have searched high and low to see whats going on and its clear that the SPL need to be at SPL 1.42 So that the phone can be flashed with HSPL.
How to i roll my phone back from 1.66 to 1.42 so i can flash it and then install Android?
Thanks.
1.42 is oooooold instructions.
Phone into bootloader, connect USB, wait ten seconds, run hspl. If it times out, don't touch phone just run hspl again, if still fails, switch usb ports and try again. If whilst flashing android you did the "turn off enable USB connections" in wmdc, turn it back on again.

MAGLDR Problems

Ok i have t-mobile UK with the correct Radio and i installed HSPL4 and it said that we have hacked it, so i assume thats working, when i run romupdate from magldr it is trying to change it from 3 something down to 2 something. i get the grey box saying updating it never gets passed 0%. SPL is 3.03.000 which i selected the correct bit when installing HSPL4

Android requires 2.08 HSPL on the HD2...so in HSPL4 choose the 2.08 HSPL
I have no sim card in the phone right now, but that surely shouldnt be an issue? when i start up the phone it says i am running
r 2.15.50.14
g 15.42.50.11u
d 3.14.04666
So are u saying i was not meant to install hspl4?
Someone please confirm but do i now have to get rid of HSPL4 downgrade my rom thus downgrading the spl then install appriopriate HSPL for that rom? if so what rom should i downgrade to?

It depends on what SPL/HSPL was on your HD2. If it was already HSPL 2.08, then it was OK for Magldr/Android.
Check the red lines in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5279236&postcount=4
So you have to run HSPL4 again, choose HSPL2.08, and then you can flash magldr...
I havnt changed that it came with 3.03.000
my spl is 3.03.000 so surely i cant choose that hspl?
Ok i am abit confused, but i have already installed hspl4, can i install it again and choose a different spl?
what i am asking is i have put hspl4 and choosen 3.03.000 can i now do the same process again and choose 2.8 or do i need to delete the hspl4 first?

can i run hspl again or do i have to delete it then instal it again?

That's a good question. Check this/ask this in the HSPL thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5279236#post5279236
Ok i ran it again and it worked, now when trying to install MAGLDR i get error 260.
Sorted it. So even if you have HSPL installed and a higher SPL you can run HSPL again without installing as long as its the same version and change it to a lower HSPL like 2.8

Seemed to have Bricked my HD2 migrating to Andriod, HELP

Ok I was moving over Andriod from WM65 Energy rom and started to install the MAGLDR and it seemed to load up fine! But once I rebooted, I just get the Energy ROM screen and it won't go further.
Even if I put it back in to BootLoad mode I can't get ActiveSync to connect to continue!
Any ideas?
WinMo ROMs and Android ROMs need different SPL versions. You should reset your HD2 using this step by step guide: http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/01/01/how-to-upgrade-htc-hd2-rom-through-sd-card-video/
You should take the latest stock ROM available, since this includes the latest Radio ROM which you need to run most Android ROMs. Afterwards I suggest installing HSPL2.08 and MAGLDR, CWM again.
Ok, I downloaded the stock rom and extracted the RUU and renamed to leoimg.nbh and did the bootloader thing and it didn't work!
What do I try next?
I know I've had to do the Task29 before when it got like this. Is that what I need to do again?
no need for task29.
there are two 'musts' for magldr to work
1 spl MUST be 2.08.hspl ONLY, no other will work.
In bootloader, does teh spl line say 2.08.hspl? no? magldr will not appear, even though it is flashed ok.
2 radio MUST be one that is compatible with the fabled 576meg ram trick, or to put it another way, it must be compatible with tmous phones, or a third way, it must be a x.xx.50. version radio, not a x.xx.51. version. Also, 2.05.50 and 2.06.50 will not work either. The one that came with your phone wont work, (assuming you don't have a tmous, if you DO have a tmous, you dont need to change radio.)
For ease, go flash radio 2.15.50
When both these conditions are met, and only then, magldr will start.
So, as you are now, ,
phone into bootloader
flash 2.08.hspl
phone back into bootloader
flash radio 2.15.50
back into bootloader
flash magldr
restart.

I believe this is my problem! A while back I mistakenly thought HSPL 3 was an updated version so I put it on. It is the SPL-3.03.HSPL. I'm not sure how to get it off and it doesn't seem to connect via activestink and it doesn't seem to wanna upgade off my card. leoimg.nbh is in root and booted in to bootload mode!
g
Just go back to the boot loader, connect your PC via USB and flash HSPL 2.08 over again. The HSPL application scans which SPL is installed and provides you the SPLs you can flash. 2.08HSPL is your choice.
Also search for radio master thread for HD2 in this forum, download and flash latest radio ROM.
Sent from my NexusHD2 using XDA App
Well, tried reloading of HSPL2 and I got an critical error bad SPL version!
I'll be searching around for this new error if anyone has a solution!
Also, if someone has time to get on Skype, I don't mind dropping down a tip!

You arent thinking right about exactly what hspl2, 3 and 4 are. There was no need to even use hspl2, hspl4 can set 2.08.hspl
hspl2 hspl3 and hspl4 aren't different 'versions' of hspl in the way you think, , selecting 2.08.hspl using hspl2 or hspl3 or hspl4 gives the very same 2.08.hspl, no difference. The .exe's are just loader programs, the only difference between them is the phone models and spl's each supports. so when you went to stock and no doubt ended up with spl 3.03.0000 hspl2 wouldnt work because it requires a starting spl of 2.08 or lower, as does hspl3.
using hspl4 does work, because it was released for just that reason, to support spl 3.03, its not 'better' or a higher version than hspl3, its just been tweaked to support more spl's.
