My device spec -
HTC HD2 - SPL-1.42.HSPL
Cotulla HSPL
Radio 2.08
ROM - Energy Series 23554 6.5.5
I had the phone on charge, I took it of the charger to make a call and found it had frozen. Removed the battery and restarted the handset and got the WSOD. This has happened before and I simply put it into bootloader mode and reset which fixed it. This time though this did not work. Now I have a HD2 stuck on WSOD when powered on.
If I try to flash it I have to have it in bootloader mode and connect it to the usb. However it gets to the loading screen and goes no further (left it on for 20 minutes). I am able to flash through the storage card which shows success, but when the handset is restarted again all I get is WSOD. Because of this I am unable to flash a OEM Rom, have downloaded the official Rom from HTC support and even extacted the nbh file and copied to my storage card, but it will not run. I can see that it tries to execute the flash but then goes straight into bootloader mode.
I have tried to run task29 but again because it has to be run through the usb it does not run past o%. I have also tried and am still trying mtty, but Windows 7 refuses to install the drivers provided in the post, and so am unable to loacate the device under USB. Is there anything else I could try to revive my HD2?
Thanks in advance for any help
try hspl2 to hspl 2.08 for rom NRG.after flach back NRG
Ok thanks will try that. I just extracted the nbh from the official Rom renamed it to LEOIMG.nbh and ran from the storage card. It started to run then stopped with the error- "Update Termintate UPDATE FAIL"
Any ideas....
Are you sure you have HSPL and not SPL? Double check, I made the same mistake before and it sits on 0%. If you have HSPL I would flash HSPL2 2.08 HSPL and try again.
Give this a go..!!!
Bro don't flash through the memory card..!!!
Just use the PC Platform method & flash the original ROM, I am 100% sure it'll work..!!!
Just lemme know if works for you..!!!
Best of LUCK..!!!
PS : - You gotta go to the BOOT LOADER & flash..!!!
Thanks for all your help. I used HSPL2 and updated to 2.08 and all is fine now. Gonna run a task29 now and reload the Rom.
Thanks again guys, amazing as ever!!!!
Cool, njoy flashing now..!!!

Hi,
I wanted to port Android on my Leo and I have issues with flashing the HSPL first (I was using the Gold Card method to flash new FW so far).
I have downgraded to 1.66 with SPL 1.42, then I tried to HSPL my device with using HSPL3_PKG.exe from XDA. When I start the .exe the phone goes into Bootloader showing first Serial, then USB(I installed the HTC USB drivers per installing HTC Sync), the program allows me to flash 2.08 HSPL and then the flash starts as the status bar moves from left to right constantly but nothing happens on the device, even not after 10 Minutes, I pull off my Leo and it boots fine but no HSPL flash, I am still on SPL 1.42. What am I doing wrong? (I am using Parallels on a MAC btw).
Any comments?
Thanks
Any able to help?

I recommend upgrading your SPL to 2.08 as I have flashed HSPL 2.08 and haven't had any problems whatsoever in the past 4-5 months of having this phone. First time installation worked like a charm

Hi
thanks, I read trough all this, and tried to work with all three HSPL Versions, but I still don't get it work...
I just tried to run HSPL3_PKG.exe, when I choose SPL 2.08.0000 and run it, the program starts, I choose SPL 2.08.000 and then it starts, the bar moves from left to right, but nothing happens on the phone...
Got it to work finally! It just wouldn't work on my Windows XP via Paralells on a MAC, I used a Windows 7 Machine, all good now, my Leo is HSPL 2.08 and got a NAND Android OS on it...finally a phone that one can use now
OK, please try to help me.
I'm having trouble in changing the SPL in my Leo.
I have installed WRONGLY SPL 2.08 instead of HSPL 2.08 by DFT HSPL3
Since this made me unable to install MAGLDR, i tried idiotic idea to install the newest stocking ROM from htc site (Serial confirmed) with htc installer from windows.
Right now, i have working HTC with details as below:
ROM: 3.14.479.2 (04666) WWE
RADIO: 2.15.50.14
SN: HT03DNW00564
When i get into bootloader, there is:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x40
So, time for the problem:
Right now, i can't load anything to my device. When i put LEOIMG onto SDCard, device freezes on white screen with "Loading". I have tried stock roms: 1.48.479.1; 3.14.479.2(same as installed); 1.48.405.2
When i try to load another SPL (or HSPL) from DFT HSPL4 device reboots, goes to bootloader and nothing happens. DFT HSPL just shows progres bar moving and nothing happens (i have waited 20 mins).
I have no more ideas anymore, what can i do. Hopefully Phone works, and those not have any Cooked ROM on it, but i don't wont to use this ROM
PLEASE, try to help...
PS. I have tried different USB Ports, i have installed fresh Windows (really). I'm using XP SP3. Battery is at 100%.
Try running a task 29 and then run the HSPL again and install the 2.08 HSPL. Then flash MAGLDR then the ROM you want.
Edit: Sorry I momentarly forgot you have to have HSPL to do a task 29. Do this make sure your phone is in bootloader and plug it into the computer via USB cable and then wait until it says USB at yhe bottom in the white. Then and only then run the DFT HSPL again.
With Task29 also nothing happens. Same as with ROMS and HSPL, After synchro in ActiveSync, i have run TASK29, then my Leo goes into Bootloader and nothing happend. On Windows screen i have 0% progress bar, on HTC HD2 i see bootloader with USB status.
ERROR 302
EDIT: After clicking through recovery steps, Leo turned to showing Progres bar, but also stops at 0%.

Just making sure: did you try to flash those stock roms over USB? Stock SPL's don't have the same protection that HSPL has, and can be overwritten by flashing over USB just fine.
Also: until you're sure you can reflash at least something, it might be better to stay away from task29
I tried also by USB (all three), and still the same. Progress bar on PC and Phone shows 0% and after some time, Installer shows ERROR about connection. ERROR302 i think.
PS. I really start to think i'm missing some detail. ROM works, everything works excluding boot loader. For me, it looks like bootloader is broken somehow, and i don't have idea how to make it work properly.

Hmm... If you can't get your phone to flash anything over either USB or SD, it does sound like your bootloader might be corrupted or something. That 302 error also doesn't sound good.
I guess if you have them you could try flashing using:
- a different pc/laptop
- a different SD card (perhaps a goldcard?)
*Probably* won't help, but won't make things worse either.
Ok, for today i have enough. I will try tomorrow with another PC.
SD Cards i already tried three of them.

Mate, you said that you flashed stock rom v.3.14.xxx but you also said that the SPL 2.08.
I m quite confused, usually the stock rom v.3.14 contains SPL 3.03 (not 2.08). So, I m curious what version of your hd2, is it TMOUS?
Have you tried a HARD RESET?
Try HR and see whether your hd2 can pass that.
If succeded, you can retry flashing HSPL over usb (dont forget to turn off antivirus, firewall, internet on your pc) or else retry flashing via micro sd flashing (use 2,4 or 8 gb reformated micro sd)
hope you can succeed.
good luck

flash rom

I have already tried to start hspl4 without running WinMo, same effect. In WinXP Bootloader still displays on the Phone, and in DFT HSPL progres bar just bounce from left to right.
In Vista DFT HSPL returns critical error about connection.
About ROMS, 3.14 is East Europe (downloaded from HTC after checking serial) and 1.48 is WWE, also checked with serial from HTC site.
I have tried 1.48 EE since somewhere i have read, taht i have to get rom with the same number on the end, as installed (ie. 3.14.479."2")
PS. I can't tconnect to Mobile Center is Vista. With ActiveSync on WinXP there are no problems.

My Phone is East Europe WWE (afaik).
I have installed SPL 2.08 onto HSPL 1.6 with DFT HSPL3.
Then i have installed 3.14 by USB. I don't know, why i still have SPL2.08 if you say i should't.
HR works fine.
In a minute i will check HSPL with internet turned off.
How to flash HSPL via microSD ?
Since i can't flash whole ROMs (maybe i have wrong ones, but they pass serial check on htc.com) from microSD (3 cards checked 2GB SD, 4 GB SDHC(don't work), 16 GB SDHC)

Doesn't matter, still right click and run as admin, always put phone in bootloader yourself before starting to flash, if it fails just run hspl.exe again. Try all USB ports.
No, you can't apply hspl from SD card.

PROBLEM SOLVED
I needed to make another admin account in WinXP. And then use it by Run As (then choose this new account).
I don't know why it works like that, but it worked.
Just to give all informations.
After more testing, i detected my Computer problem. My USB ports were not working properly, and update of Motherboard BIOS helped (ASUS P7P55D). So, i don't know what was the exact issue of problems.
Hello,
My HD2 is defected and I am trying to send it back for another one. The touchscreen doesnt work so I cant take off hspl the way i put it on. I did however hard reset the phone and now it is not showing HSPL on the boot colored screen, only spl 2.08. Is that ok, or will tmobile still know I was messing with the software and charge me for the malfunctioned phone. Any help is appreciated.

totally missed the important part, does it say 2.08.0000 or 2.08.hspl?
if it says 2.08.0000 then yea thats fine, if it says 2.08.hspl then no, it isn't.
never mind.. sam was faster, as always of course
That means you still have HSPL, you can uninstall it by using the package you used to install it.
VVVVV
It says spl 2.08 Hspl 8g....
I cant uninstall it the same way i installed it because my touchscreen is unresponsive. So when I connect my phone to the computer i cant click on sync so my phone is just thinking I want to charge it.
dont need touchscreen, you didnt use the touchscreen when you installed hspl either.
phone into bootloader
connect usb
run hspl3 or hspl4
choose 2.08.0000 and its stock.
actually, you didnt say if its a tmous or not, if its NOT a tmous, then spl 2.anything will NOT be stock, because 2.x is for tmous (t mobile us)
in this case you would need to use hspl2 or hspl4 and set spl 1.42.0000 or 1.66.0000 or 3.03.0000
I tried running hspl4 while in bootloader but I keep getting an error message saying "the application has failed to start becasue RAPI.dll was not found.."
rapii is caused by windows mobile dev center (or active sync if on xp) not being the latest version. find the MS page for wmdc (or AS) and download it.
Thank you so much guys. It worked. HSPL is off and its only showing SPL 2.08. Does the radio matter?
help me too
my htc hd2 touch goes unreponsive time to time. so i decided to give it up for check up to htc. help me load back wp6.5 rom from boyppc nand rom from magldr. anyone?
Hi, i see this:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.0.8.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
And i can go further, if i insert a stock rom in SD rename to leoimg.nbh it is stuck on "loading..."
any help?
I try to flash hspl but nothing happens for hours....
what version of hspl did you flash?
an what type hd2 do you have(tmous or eu)????
i've tried 2.08 and above... but always stuck on animation of bar going left and right, i left it for 2 hours, but nothing happens!
plz help!! Is my hd2 bricked?
Don't think so, from what I know you have to flash the wrong radio ver on tmous handsets to brick them...
Have a read here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
Have to go out now back later..
i've downloaded the unified tool, but nothing works!
Better use the hd2 nand tookit (link in above link)
what happens when you power on an hold the vol down button...do you get a three-color screen?
yes with those infos:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.0.8.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
so?
Try the hd2 nand toolkit and select install hspl and follow instructions.
When you plug usb into phone it should say usb on the tri-color screen.
I've tried. The bar of loading goes around but The hspl won't install. I will try again now
The same again. Nothing change.
so it recognised the phone tried to install, and did it give an error..??
What version did you select ?
i tried 2.08 hspl and others, but stuck on bars loading back and forward and even after two hours nothing happens... i'm desperate...
Only other thing I can think of is check that your anti-virus is not blocking it , actually turn it off and try again....
i've disabled real time protection and tried...nothing.
i dunno what to do more...

i've a mac at home and i'm trying now with a vmware machine... with no AV, tomorrow i'll try on a laptop with wxp installed...
But now, no success with the wxp vmware, without AV. Same behaviour of a "direct" wxp installation.
should active sync accept incoming usb connections?
To install any SPL or HSPL there must be any SPL version from this list on your device:
SPL 1.42.0000
SPL 1.62.0000
SPL 1.66.0000
SPL 2.07.0000
SPL 2.08.0000
SPL 2.10.0000
SPL 3.03.0000
Otherwise the installation will fail!
First go to here to download HSPL 4. I suggest HSPL 4 because it supports all SPL versions that are out right now including SPL 3.03.0000 and SPL 3.10.0000. Remember you can also use HSPL 4 to flash back to your original SPL. Once you have HSPL 4 downloaded use a zip program like WinZip, WinRar, or Win7 to extract the .exe file for the DFT installation utility to a location of your choosing on you computer. Take and put your HD2 manually into bootloader by holding the volume down button down while powering on your HD2. When you see the multicolor bootloader screen on your HD2 connect it to your computer via USB cable. If it is the first time you have connected it to your computer while in bootloader you will have to give it a minute or two for the drivers to install. When you see the Serial in the white bar of bootloader change to USB you have a HTC USB Sync connection between your HD2 and your computer. This is very important, make sure you have the latest ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center version (depending on what version of Windows your computer uses) installed on your computer as it has the updated USB drivers for the HTC USB Sync connection. Go to here to download these. When you see the USB in the white bar of bootloader right click on the HSPL 4 utility and select run as administrator. Follow the on screen instructions and select the desired HSPL version when it prompts you for what version you want to install. If you want to flash MAGLDR to install NAND Android or Windows Phone 7 you have to select 2.08 HSPL. When you see “We hacked it” on your HD2 screen you click yes on your computer in the box on the screen to confirm you see “We hacked it” then click close and you have flashed HSPL to your HTC HD2. T-Macgnolia
This is from the link I gave you earlier.
Read it carefully and follow the instructions to the letter. go to the original post for the links.
That's as far as I can go to help you..
Best of luck
i've got a 2.08.0000spl now... but i can't manage to flash a hspl...is the bootloader damaged or corrupted?
done the removal... when plugged again it automatically reinstalls drivers from activesync folder, is this correct? should i uninstall activesync too??
