Sign up to get Nexus on Tmobile
http://www.samsung.com/us/register/galaxynexus/
Hey, how do you know that is to get a Galaxy Nexus? it says "sign up to get the latest on the galaxy nexus"...
That is to get the latest news, not the actual device.
They wanna know how many people are interested and on which carries
Yeah, I don't think that exactly equates to "SIGN UP HERE FOR GALAXY NEXUS ON T-MOBILE". We have no clue how long of a wait there will be between it launching on Verizon and then T-Mobile later.
Samsung already confirmed via Facebook that Nexus is Verizon exclusive for now
Incase you guys missed it, Samsung already confirmed on Facebook that Galaxy Nexus for the time being will be a Verizon Exclusive.
Doesn't mean it won't come to other carriers at a later time, but initial release is exclusive to Verizon.
This was confirmed by "Samsung Janel."
I would say still sign up on that page and choose T-Mobile. Let them know there is a strong interest from T-Mobile customers to recieve the Galaxy Nexus.

Definitely coming to T-Mo, although I don't think there is a hard date, but I'm fairly certain T-Mo will be last to release which is a little crappy for you, but it will be coming.
I GOT A DEAL FROM LOCAL TMOBILE G2+300 FOR samsung galaxy S2
uhhh... I paid 500$ for my G2... i dunno if I'd pay 800 for the galaxy s2. after my poor experience with the original galaxy s, I don't think I will ever have a non htc android phone again.

Idk. what condition is your G2 in? thats really what it depends on. if its in mediocre condition then its really only worth about $200. so $500 for a good condition SGSII is a screamin' deal.

I hear Samsung has actually gotten more developer-friendly recently, especially after releasing the NS. Either way, I'd wait and see what the reviews and root procedure for the SGS2 are.
dunno about you, but i was still miffed with the fact that samsung refused to sell a gsm version of the epic 4g (unbranded from sprint's crap ofcourse) to the rest of the world. I was so intent on getting it that I hoped it would've appeared 3 months after the epic went on sale in the US....

You know the Epic 4G is just Sprint's variation of the Galaxy S? T-Mobile's is the Vibrant, AT&T's is the captivate, Sprint's is the Epic 4G, and the global GSM version is the Galaxy S. Sprint just made it fat with a keyboard.
ofcourse i knew it was a variant of the galaxy s. you also do realize that the epic is the only one with a keyboard and the look that i like.
that's why i got a DZ. it has a keyboard. My biggest prereq is that is HAS to have a physical keyboard

The reason why it has a keyboard is because Sprint stipulated that it had to. In other words, Samsung didn't want it to have a keyboard but made one as a Sprint exclusive. Aka Samsung wouldn't be able to sell a GSM version to the rest of the world because it was a 1-carrier build. Why is that Samsung's fault? Its Sprints fault for wanting the exclusive. Not to mention that Samsung would have never made a keyboard one if Sprint didn't ask.

The reviews are already out. The SGSII has been out in Europe for a while and every review I see has said nothing but great things.

I'm not sure what you're getting at here, but all I'm saying is that I'm not happy that Samsung did not decide to release a gsm version. It does not matter if it was sprint's stipulation or anyone else's for that matter. the point is that they never released a gsm version and that I would've bought it if it was for a gsm network.
No need to go defensive for samsung. Not to mention that it is not difficult for them to sell a gsm variant for the epic.
after all this is simply my view on what I would've gone for if I had a chance, but i'm unhappy that they didn't because it was such a nice phone.

I'm explaining to you that Sprint had an exclusive on the Galaxy S + keyboard (they designed it, they keep it). They wouldn't let Samsung sell a GSM version in the US or abroad for that matter. Don't hate Samsung because Sprint told them not to release it anywhere else lol.

When carriers ask for a customization for a phone, that phone doesn't exist anywhere else. It was clear that Samsung was going to sell their variant of the Galaxy S without a keyboard. They sold the i9000 version in Europe sans keyboard, that was their unlocked GSM version. Sprint requested the keyboard and got it. Samsung made that phone for Sprint, its not like they had it in the pipeline and Sprint stole it as an exclusive to keep it CDMA. Its pretty clear Samsung was willing to do whatever the US carriers wanted by re-designing the phone 4 times for all the major carriers, and even some regionals.
I'd understand your frustration if it was a GSM worldphone kept on lock to AT&T/T-mobile, but in reality they'd have to redesign it to be a GSM version, and whether Sprint wanted this to be the only keyboard Galaxy S or not, Samsung surely wasn't going to make a GSM version of it.
But regardless, this has absolutely nothing to do with OP's question...
Which is exactly why i dont understand why you were so intent on arguing this when its not related to the op. It simply seems to me that you are arguing for the sake of doing so

Its Verizon, what did you expect? Look at the Verizon version of the iPhone, it always got its updates long after the AT&T version here. This was likely a requirement to get the phone on that network.
The HSPA+ version should be fine. Not to mention, why is this in the Atrix forum?
Because all android users should see whats happening to the nexus

Fair enough, but this is much more a Verizon issue than a Nexus issue. Anyone who has had any experience with that carrier knows that they are the most locked down of all four here in the US. It sucks that their Nexus is a bit watered down, but until proven otherwise we can assume that the HSPA+ version being sold in other parts of the world and hopefully will soon show up on T-Mobile/AT&T keeps the spirit Nexus devices are supposed to embody.
Besides, while a slippery slope, its only two apps. It could be worse. MUCH worse.
^^^ Well said
Anyone else slightly disappointed with the nexus 4? I completely understand Google's logic behind gsm/hspa+ only. There is no cdma or LTE without working with carriers, and that means a locked device. I mean just look at the Gnex on sprint and verizion. It wasn't until around JB was announced that they brought the toro (Gnex on Verizion) back into AOSP support. The sprint GNex doesn't have AOSP support. So when Google wants to sell an unlocked phone which they can push updates too, using nearly all open source drivers, the only option is GSM and hspa+.
End game is unless Sprint decides to try and bring the Nexus 4 to their service, google won't do it. Thus I will just continue to use my hero and hope next year's Nexus device gets Sprint support.
Google could release it for Verizon as per FCC rules on the 700mhz C block, and Verizon would have to allow it on their network without any restrictions at all.
Personally I am going to move from Sprint to t-moile when I get the chance.

AT&T is almost always six months behind the initial release of an Android version. They take their sweet time adding all their bloat and locking it down more.

It will be coming to the Note 3 regardless. It isn't an AT&T product hence Samsung Note 3 But I'll refrain from getting any more technical.
Downloading now..I'll see what I can do about making it work for our phone.

The At&t Note 3 just now (from October) has some things we can do (Safestrap, ROMS, Etc) but also has the Locked Bootloader like we all know.
If I bought a Developer Edition phone going forward, I wont have this problem. Thats why I'm choosing not to buy At&t products anymore. They will be locked. I've been with At&t for 18 years. My Father In Law retired (30 years) with them. We have two business accounts and two family plans. SO SIGN HERE BUDDY !!! >>

It won't work. The bootloader is locked on the ATT version. That means no kernels. The kernel must be digitally signed by AT&T (or Samsung for AT&T) to work. That is why all roms for the AT&T version use the stock AT&T 4.3 kernel. If you want a freely customizable device sell the ATT version and get the Tmobile version. It works on AT&T.
