Can't root.... can't find deviceid.....

Is there a another way to root our phone since I can't find my device.....I follow the video in YouTube n still can't....... any idea please help....

You need to install SEUS. Go through with an update though the official Sony Ericsson Update Software, until it finds and installs the correct drivers for your X10 in Flash Mode.
After (correct) Driver's have been installed, You will be able to find you Device ID

I had this situation.. I think your gonna have to download pc companion, instal it.. connect ya phone after so it picks it up then try finding it.. if not just try a restart and if you still have no luck as a last resort I suggest downloading the update service alone. 1 of them will work.. don't give up straight away though!

I think I am in a bootloop or may be i am possibly using the wrong term.
I tried installing on of the custom roms found here on XDA for Xperia X8 but i guess i did something wrong in btw now phone come on by itself, shows the "Sony Ericsson" text and waits for about 8sec and then blank off and restarts again. on and on like that its a loop i guess. can anyone please help me out.. All i needed was a 2.2.1 OS on my phone but now i have ended up having none. Please help

What ROM did you install? does you follow the requirements? Like that you must have baseband 15?

What do you mean? Off course you belong, just read and read here and im pretty sure you will learn so much. i noticed you were using x10i but you were in x8 forum?

If you're using a X10i you better be in the X10 forum...Flashing a X8 rom will definitely render your phone unusable. Here this is the link to the forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=614

I use both x10i and x8 I have successfully gotten my x10i off se hook but my x8 now, its rooted and yet can't run any tethering app on it. It says kernel not supported.
I downloaded the new build that was posted on x8 page asking to just restore using xRecovery but it says md5 error. This. Where I need help cus my x8 carried the internet connection and I wanna share it onto my other devices. Need help again.

You can fix md5-mismatch-errors with a special code in ADB, just search for "md5 mismatch" on Google, on the first site there´ll appear a site from xda.
click it and do what´s mentioned there.
And what new build did you download?
The one with an "A" inside or that one with the "C" inside (it looks like:
2.1.1.A..... or something similar) because most ROMs require the A-build, which you can download and flash with flashtool.
But I don´t get what you mean with "it carried the internet connection".
Please explain it more exactly.

[Q] Help needed u guys.....

Guys i did a blunder..During Xrecovery I first backup my Xperia x8.
then i wipe the System...
then i choose restart the phone...(while i need to choose Restore)
thats why my xperia stuck on "Sony Ericsson' logo.....
Hey guys plz help me what to do now.....................?????

After full wipe you shouldnt rebot phone....restore to the stock rom and try again.......

Wiping system means that you erase everything inside your phone. Your phone now doesn't have a system inside thats why it doesn't boot. You will have to run SEUS.

Agree.just revert back to SE stock rom with SEUS or flashtool.

Use SEUS or PCCompanion or flashtool that easier

Look,we are talking about x8 here because he is flashing his friends phone.and I was here on x8 forum long before you knew about this phone.

solutions for that:
1) flash the stock ROM using the flashtool
2) Root it again, install busybox, and install this
this will help you to install xrecovery again
3) boot into xrecovery, factory reset / wipe data
4) flash the rom you want~

take out the battery and insert it back after 30 seconds..turn on your phone and press back button when "sony ericsson' pop out..
