Is there a another way to root our phone since I can't find my device.....I follow the video in YouTube n still can't....... any idea please help....

You need to install SEUS. Go through with an update though the official Sony Ericsson Update Software, until it finds and installs the correct drivers for your X10 in Flash Mode.
After (correct) Driver's have been installed, You will be able to find you Device ID
I had this situation.. I think your gonna have to download pc companion, instal it.. connect ya phone after so it picks it up then try finding it.. if not just try a restart and if you still have no luck as a last resort I suggest downloading the update service alone. 1 of them will work.. don't give up straight away though!

hi guys i'm still in step 1 error .....untill now i couldn't flash any thing
i did as the guide said and i tried all the device IDs the the 1st step gave me but no luck and i tried to us seus as the guide said but still no luck what should i do with this stupid error:

I rooted my phone today (BIG thanks to proyaz)
I encountered 2 problems in the first step ,
yours looks like you got the wrong DeviceID ,
also install Jave JDK as long as Jave runtime
also when connecting in Flash mode , try to hit enter in step 1's cmd screen as soon as the LED on the phone turned green

Im pretty sure you got the wrong device id. Have you set up pc companion and repaired first?

Yes you must set up pc companion once and repair your phone. It will take about 15 minutes. Then go get your device id from reg edit. That will be the correct one. Hope this helps

I Need HELP!!!
I think I am in a bootloop or may be i am possibly using the wrong term.
I tried installing on of the custom roms found here on XDA for Xperia X8 but i guess i did something wrong in btw now phone come on by itself, shows the "Sony Ericsson" text and waits for about 8sec and then blank off and restarts again. on and on like that its a loop i guess. can anyone please help me out.. All i needed was a 2.2.1 OS on my phone but now i have ended up having none. Please help

I use both x10i and x8 I have successfully gotten my x10i off se hook but my x8 now, its rooted and yet can't run any tethering app on it. It says kernel not supported.
I downloaded the new build that was posted on x8 page asking to just restore using xRecovery but it says md5 error. This. Where I need help cus my x8 carried the internet connection and I wanna share it onto my other devices. Need help again.

You can fix md5-mismatch-errors with a special code in ADB, just search for "md5 mismatch" on Google, on the first site there´ll appear a site from xda.
click it and do what´s mentioned there.
And what new build did you download?
The one with an "A" inside or that one with the "C" inside (it looks like:
2.1.1.A..... or something similar) because most ROMs require the A-build, which you can download and flash with flashtool.
But I don´t get what you mean with "it carried the internet connection".
Please explain it more exactly.

Hellou 2 u, i hope you can help me with my problem, i can not dowload or update any aplication from market, till now the apps where puted in my progress bar, now i get the message download unsucessful and it stops, i have android 2.1 rooted, but 2 of my frends have 2.1 from se and they have the same problem.

are you using Xrecovery ? if so then re-flash the market.apk file. The zip should be available in one of Wolfbreak`s thread. I ll try and get the link in sometime.
if not Xrecovery then use FlashTool.

Hello ,
I'm in really big trouble. I just wiped /system /data and /cache from xrecovery. I thought I would be able to clean install new android but now my phone only shows 'Sony Ericsson' boot screen . My phone is Sony X8. I'm really terrified right now. I couldn't think anything. I think now i'm dead. Please help me !!!!!

You need to download "Sony ericsson update service". Then follow the instructions. It will reset your phone and install the official software (android 2.1)
Stay calm, try flashtool or seus, then everything will be okay.
This is not a big problem, relax, calm down....
Can I use update service of sony even if i 've rooted my phone. Because my phone is already rooted.
Just relax,dawnload seus from sony ericsson,fleshtool or etc and evrething will be fine

You have to downgrade first. You can do that and then root/recovery w flashtool.

Connect cable straight after vibration and click root AFTER TEXT APPEARS on Flashtool.
If no text appears, you will need to install drivers, in other words just download SEUS or PC Companion to get the necessary drivers.
Then retry.
