Hi all,
it seems ICS's market has been leaked as well...
Following instructions here it is working for me nicely on honeyvillain 1.2 :
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/10/10/download-android-market-version-3-2-0/
have fun,
schaze
Great find. Hopefully we don't get fc's like the other recent ics leaks. Will test this later
I have 3.1.5 on my phone and on my Galaxy pad. So it is a small update and thats it. Its not very good i don't like it it at all. I'm sure 3.2 HC will have it soon enough.
Oh, that's it! Taboonay 2.2 includes this update)
I've been using it for a few days, its a different look and feel but the purchase pin feature is a winner...
Perfectly work on my iconia A500 whit virtuos galaxy 1.0.5
Bye to next and greatings

..fully working Honeycomb? What do you think? Is a fully working Honecomb ROM possible? May it be 3.0 or 3.1 with all those nice honeycomb-native-apps working?

Ha? We have two out already and only zoom has it out really...for the new version. Everybody is working with the prerelease sdk. Those in the development section ARE honeycomb and it cannot yet be full driver ready till the release of source or until new release gets ported over. If you mean from Barnes and noble, I do not know. I am running leaked transformer version and it is smooth as it can be.

Which one is that? I thought that all those Honeycomb images out yet for the Nook aren't smooth at all and have compatibility issues with many apps. And The tablet versions from some apps (like GMail) aren't even working...

I forgot to mention it is on my transformer...not nook I was running leaked 3.1. I found that both of the nook honeycombs where semi solid with for me just to test honeycomb. I knew off the bat they are pre-production HC and I treated them as such. Cm 7 for nook is solid and been very content with it. The reason why a lot of apps have fc is the simple fact there was really no production sdk for development till recently. And how do you develop when you dont have the right environment. I want honeycomb bad...but if it is not there, it is not there...what I want is the new kor-el chip tablet...but I gotta wait till end of year for that. For now, honeycomb is just a toy on the nook and I would not really depend on it...that is my opinion, there are others whose it daily and more power to them. It will take a developer to port it for the nook most likely and that will be off in the near, medium or far future...I do not know.
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has thought about porting CM7 to the A500? I run CM7 on my Thunderbolt and love it...and while I know that it is Gingerbread, I would still be interested in checking it out on a tablet. I have read that CM7 has tablet tweaks and stuff.
Unfortunately, I am no dev...however if there are any devs out there who are bored and looking for something to do this might be fun
Thanks!
yup, I bought my iconia last week, and ran a search on the whole iconia forum for "cyanogenmod" and got 0 hits. When I asked about that I got some responses about how CM7 ran on 2.3, so our honeycomb ROMs on 3.x were already more advanced, like they didn't know about google forking Android for the honeycomb line. While I'm enjoying my iconia with OC taboony, as far as I can tell all of the hc changes have more to do with being flashy than functional. I expect we'll see more tablet love from CM devs with icecream sandwich, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at an unofficial port in the meantime.
Just curious, once 4.0 is released are we likely to see it on the Vega?
Assumably, 4.0 will be open sourced as everything pre-3.0 was and would be a breeze in comparison to porting 3.2.
What say you, oh wise devs of Vega?

We can only hope, ICS is being marketed as the android for everything, and that includes high and low spec devices, this suggests that it may change dynamically to suit the spec of he device it is running on.
Hopefully if we got it on the vega it would help with the low ram issue that vegacomb currently has.
I think we have two things to look out for, the first being the release date of ICS, slowly less people will be interested in the vega.
Another is how similar it is to honeycomb, a lot of work has gone into getting honeycomb onto the vega, if ICS needs all of that work done again, it is less likely that we will get ICS.
Interesting views, thanks!
My understanding is that given the closed nature of honeycomb, it wads a lot more difficult to port than ICS would be, which is supposed to be open source.

Well, Cyanogenmod will be using ICS when the source comes out and Cyanogenmod supports the Vega, so we can reasonably assume we will get ICS.
last CM7 update for Vega was on August 31st and it still doesn't support internal 3G and GPS. I don't think anybody is working on the CM7 for Vega anymore.
If CM do get around to progressing beyond GB for the Vega I will be impressed.
I understand their buildbot went down a short while ago, so nothing is updating for Vega at the moment..
I'd much rather see dedicated ROMs from the awesome Devs who know the vega intimately to be honest though!

Please people stop posting questions in the development section.
Mods please move to general.
Take it easy
Sounds interesting.

Just in case someone stumbles on this thread and is not yet aware of it, ICS for the Vaga and similar devices has been out since 31 December 2011 as VagaICS. The latest version is VegaICS Beta1 originally developed by Cass67 and ejtange, but now being further developed by a whole number od devs simulataniously. Seach for VegaICS Beta1 on XDA.
I think Cass and co are working on 4.04 too, been a bit quiet on vega development, looks like alot of people have moved onto other devices
Check the last couple of pages of this thread on Modaco to see how they are all getting on with ICS - http://android.modaco.com/topic/330834-advent-vega-kernel-source-code-now-available/page__st__1700
Is there still no sign of a galaxy 3.2 rom
I was using the virtuous galaxy for so long as it is so smooth and the browser is super fast, also the touchwiz UI is far better than standard android.
Does anyone know if the galaxy even has 3.2 yet or when it is getting it?
I would love to have a 3.2 galaxy rom on this tab
Anyone else tried the virtuous galaxy and feel the same about 3.2 version?

I may be wrong, but I've searched all over, and it still seems as though the 10.1 Galaxy Tab is still running HC 3.1. Last forum post I read indicated they were in a holding pattern for the 3.2 update, same as we were for awhile ( and some in the US still are).
IIRC someone did a port using Acer 3.1, and the Galaxy UI complete with touchwiz. If they could see to a 3.2 build variant, that would be ideal for those looking for the same as yourself, but nothing as of yet.
Thanks for the update.
Soon hopefully

Well this is it guys. Prof that Honeycomb doesn`t have hardware requirements.
Does not need a dual procesor to run. In fact Spacemoose1 made something for us, to bad it didn`t finish, but he promise to come back with something new and good.

We just need that brilliants developers from here to heading attention to this and let Gingerbread for the unroot people.
Thanks for support.
Dude where have you been all this time? but thanks for reminding us anyways, just so you know honeycomb for gsm tab is already in the works by spacemoose1 and a cdma version is also under alpha testing, anyone correct me if im wrong... so we all just sit and wait for it to be properly released peace bro

Wait has spacemoose gone back to doing HC for the tab? Last time I heard he abandoned the project. Or is there something I'm missing?

He said about a month ago that he is working for porting or makeing working Honeycomb 3.2 for GTab`s, becouse has less to work do to suporting 7" screens that 3.2 brings. But i didn`t hear nothing then and i`m not shure if he abandon the project or is involve in others to and doesn`t have time.
I thank him even if he abandon the project becouse he was the only one that has macking working and i`ve tested on my Tab.
Pray to do another port of 3.2

That way you wont feel stupid after a bunch of people tell you it has already been posted...in January.
last i heard HC was abandoned because of every1 nagging the devs about it. but that was for the cdma version. maybe we'll have better luck with the gsm devs.
Judging by what was said at google IO ice cream sandwich (ics for the puropose of this) is going to replace honeycomb and gingerbread and it wouldn't surprise me if cm8 (or whatever it is) is based on ics which may come to the galaxy tab
NOTE: these are presumptions which may not be correct so don't quote me on this!!
Wow really!? Totally amazing thanks for posting guy!
This is great
I just updated the GT to Gingerbread 2.3.3 and its working much better now
wonder what to expect from the Tab with honeycomb
Raps
Is this even worth doing though, Its not stable?
I would wait for a future more stable version, can anybody else comment?
mmk to clear up a bit of stuff here Spacemose1 is no longer doing HC no 3.0 not even 3.2 no questions asked so dont bother him about it. CDMA version was picked up by spacemoose1's partner in crime Oldmacnut (self proclaimed Very Green Developer) hes doing his best with what hes got. Recently there was alot of whinning and crying about HC so he intended to shut the project down for good
Long story short cooler heads prevail and he decided to pick up on HC again. On 10/1/2011 HC for CDMA only due to lack of a gsm tablet was taken from Alpha to Beta Status offering a "possible 3g fix" maybe more but the zip file is corrupt so a hemidall file's are supposed to drop for us soon.
So, does the honeycomp can run on Samsung Galaxy tab of 7 inches?
Do you know a site where you can download all Honeycomp roms from all the world?
Do you know a guide to upgrade the gingerbread to honeycomp version?
Do you know how to re-enable the light from keys menu (menu, home, back, search)?

Try button backlight widget from market.
Sent from my Tab using a pigeon.
ics will most likely replace honeycomb,
but until then
download honeycomb launcher, ripple lock & honeybread theme(if your on boca, cm7 or MIUI) from the market
Unless the the amazing guys in the dev section can do something deemed impossible by the manufacture, without any sort of actual source code, its the closest you'r going to get.
I think the developers love to make it stable and usable.. I really support those guys who is trying to port HC to galaxy tab. I'ma GSM user. Hope someone can make HC for GSM galaxy tab too.
google has said honeycomb was rushed out & will never be open source. With ICS on the horizon it makes no sense to push for honeycomb.
Is there a point of installing HC on our out dated Tabs now???
What is the point of upgrading software when hardware isn't par?
I feel the same about GB as well, I feel like Froyo runs best on the Tab.
But that's just my humble opinion, dont take offense or defensive.
