Galaxy 3.2 rom - Acer Iconia A500

Is there still no sign of a galaxy 3.2 rom
I was using the virtuous galaxy for so long as it is so smooth and the browser is super fast, also the touchwiz UI is far better than standard android.
Does anyone know if the galaxy even has 3.2 yet or when it is getting it?
I would love to have a 3.2 galaxy rom on this tab
Anyone else tried the virtuous galaxy and feel the same about 3.2 version?

I may be wrong, but I've searched all over, and it still seems as though the 10.1 Galaxy Tab is still running HC 3.1. Last forum post I read indicated they were in a holding pattern for the 3.2 update, same as we were for awhile ( and some in the US still are).
IIRC someone did a port using Acer 3.1, and the Galaxy UI complete with touchwiz. If they could see to a 3.2 build variant, that would be ideal for those looking for the same as yourself, but nothing as of yet.

Thanks for the update.
Soon hopefully

link to the ROM please??
link? i am waiting for a stable working 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 rom. never hurts to see what fixes the various gb roms have yet so far..
still waiting for the working GPS......
How long does it take for Samsung to push 2.3 source for vibrant this time......
I am waiting for the GPS to get fixed. It is a shame we still don't have the source code for that.

Honeycomb 3.0 can run on our tabs

Well this is it guys. Prof that Honeycomb doesn`t have hardware requirements.
Does not need a dual procesor to run. In fact Spacemoose1 made something for us, to bad it didn`t finish, but he promise to come back with something new and good.

We just need that brilliants developers from here to heading attention to this and let Gingerbread for the unroot people.
Thanks for support.
Dude where have you been all this time? but thanks for reminding us anyways, just so you know honeycomb for gsm tab is already in the works by spacemoose1 and a cdma version is also under alpha testing, anyone correct me if im wrong... so we all just sit and wait for it to be properly released peace bro

Wait has spacemoose gone back to doing HC for the tab? Last time I heard he abandoned the project. Or is there something I'm missing?

He said about a month ago that he is working for porting or makeing working Honeycomb 3.2 for GTab`s, becouse has less to work do to suporting 7" screens that 3.2 brings. But i didn`t hear nothing then and i`m not shure if he abandon the project or is involve in others to and doesn`t have time.
I thank him even if he abandon the project becouse he was the only one that has macking working and i`ve tested on my Tab.
Pray to do another port of 3.2

That way you wont feel stupid after a bunch of people tell you it has already been posted...in January.
last i heard HC was abandoned because of every1 nagging the devs about it. but that was for the cdma version. maybe we'll have better luck with the gsm devs.
Judging by what was said at google IO ice cream sandwich (ics for the puropose of this) is going to replace honeycomb and gingerbread and it wouldn't surprise me if cm8 (or whatever it is) is based on ics which may come to the galaxy tab
NOTE: these are presumptions which may not be correct so don't quote me on this!!
Wow really!? Totally amazing thanks for posting guy!
This is great
I just updated the GT to Gingerbread 2.3.3 and its working much better now
wonder what to expect from the Tab with honeycomb
Raps
Is this even worth doing though, Its not stable?
I would wait for a future more stable version, can anybody else comment?
mmk to clear up a bit of stuff here Spacemose1 is no longer doing HC no 3.0 not even 3.2 no questions asked so dont bother him about it. CDMA version was picked up by spacemoose1's partner in crime Oldmacnut (self proclaimed Very Green Developer) hes doing his best with what hes got. Recently there was alot of whinning and crying about HC so he intended to shut the project down for good
Long story short cooler heads prevail and he decided to pick up on HC again. On 10/1/2011 HC for CDMA only due to lack of a gsm tablet was taken from Alpha to Beta Status offering a "possible 3g fix" maybe more but the zip file is corrupt so a hemidall file's are supposed to drop for us soon.
So, does the honeycomp can run on Samsung Galaxy tab of 7 inches?
Do you know a site where you can download all Honeycomp roms from all the world?
Do you know a guide to upgrade the gingerbread to honeycomp version?
Do you know how to re-enable the light from keys menu (menu, home, back, search)?

Try button backlight widget from market.
Sent from my Tab using a pigeon.
ics will most likely replace honeycomb,
but until then
download honeycomb launcher, ripple lock & honeybread theme(if your on boca, cm7 or MIUI) from the market
Unless the the amazing guys in the dev section can do something deemed impossible by the manufacture, without any sort of actual source code, its the closest you'r going to get.
I think the developers love to make it stable and usable.. I really support those guys who is trying to port HC to galaxy tab. I'ma GSM user. Hope someone can make HC for GSM galaxy tab too.
google has said honeycomb was rushed out & will never be open source. With ICS on the horizon it makes no sense to push for honeycomb.
Is there a point of installing HC on our out dated Tabs now???
What is the point of upgrading software when hardware isn't par?
I feel the same about GB as well, I feel like Froyo runs best on the Tab.
But that's just my humble opinion, dont take offense or defensive.

Leaked Ice Cream Sandwich Market

Hi all,
it seems ICS's market has been leaked as well...
Following instructions here it is working for me nicely on honeyvillain 1.2 :
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/10/10/download-android-market-version-3-2-0/
have fun,
schaze
Great find. Hopefully we don't get fc's like the other recent ics leaks. Will test this later
I have 3.1.5 on my phone and on my Galaxy pad. So it is a small update and thats it. Its not very good i don't like it it at all. I'm sure 3.2 HC will have it soon enough.
Oh, that's it! Taboonay 2.2 includes this update)
I've been using it for a few days, its a different look and feel but the purchase pin feature is a winner...
Perfectly work on my iconia A500 whit virtuos galaxy 1.0.5
Bye to next and greatings

[Q] Browser Shutting Down

Excellent site and i've been using it for years but never really posted even though my knowledge has grown over the years.
I have the Aconia A500 running Kernal 2.6.39.4+
Rom: Lightspeed 4.3 Themed by OiJkN
So far i have found this ROM of ICS to be great and runs without issue most of the time even though it's still in the Dev stage. However, when I open up either the standard Browser or Dolphin HD i can get about 5 mins usage and they just close down on me. Ive tried uninstall and reinstall but this still happens. My partner she has an Aconia and that does the same and is on standard ROM etc.
If anyone could help that would be great. Also somewhere on another ROM i saw an excellent Blue keyboard and was wondering where it came from as it is nothing like the versions you download from PLAY and configure.
Although the ROM i'm on runs okay i'm looking to change back to Flexreaper who seems to be developing daily. My first time was revsion 9 and now he is up to 11. What I cant understand is that any ROM I use I cannot overclock my A500 past the stock speed. Am i doing something wrong or missing something here. Under CWS it says OC to 1.5 and I do that but still shows up as 1 on the system information.
Am ope to suggestions for different ROMS & Kernals the faster the better in my case with less battery loss.
Thanks again for an excellent forum.....

Well, as far as the browser shutting down, I can only say ALL the current releases are BETA. Acer "leaked" which are not what is going to be released as an official release. Beta is Beta. Expect issues. You may want to try Opera as a browser.
As with OC the processor, this is not available on any current Beta ICS rom. Acer has not released the kernel source code, so modified kernels are not possible at this time. The reason it says 1.5 in your CWM, is because your version of CWM was built by Thor2002ro, and at one time, he had the option to OC your processor before rom install. Didn't really work for a couple folks, so he removed the default function, but left the text in there. Ignore it. It was designed for HC, and not ICS.

Many thanks for the reply and your time in answering my questions. Is it worth updating my version of CWM? I got the current one from the market place or should i say Play Store now.
Dispite the browser shutting down now and again i can live with that until proper update. The stndard browser seems to be the best one.. Will try Opera but never liked it on the phone but may be better on a tablet?
Kind Regards
Jay
+1 for using opera

Few questions before deciding to upgrade to ICS

I read around on the forums and I wanted to make sure before I upgrade to ICS that it will be a good decision. I read about some people having issues with Flash Player not working and streaming/watching 1080p videos lag horrendously on ICS. I'm currently on HC3.2.
What are some pros/cons of upgrading to ICS? Greatly appreciate any help

I've flash ics stock, it's stable and very speed rom, about 2x than hc3.2
I updated via OTA. I did a reset first as I feel that gives a nice, clean install, and I don't mind reinstalling apps, etc.
My tab is running like a rocket, with no problems.
A big improvement over HC 3.2.
I flashed the ITV rom on my Vodacom XFV tab and everything worked a treat, but one thing I noticed was if my signal went to 3G instead of H+, I would lose internet connection. Makes no sense, but there it is...
Makes it hard when my Tab is my modem (USB tether) and when signal goes to 3G I suddenly ping out on games, lose web connection while surfing the net etc.
Flashed back to HC and all's back to normal, regardless of signal type...
Vodacom will take ages to get the rom circulating in SA, this sucks.
I flashed the ITV stock ics. it turns your tab into a brand new device. extremely fast and responsive. some value added apps and some cosmetic improvements. Already I prefer my tab over an iPad but this update convinced my more and more. one other thing that it carries the latest kernel Samsung could provide, the same as one included in the leaked galaxy s3 jelly bean roms.
I have no issues with wireless connectivity. EDGE 3G HSPDA HSPA+ work flawlessly.
I strongly recommend this update.
one more thing I believe that the p75xx is the most device enjoyed benefits from ics update far beyond my p6800 for instance. I'm not sure if the tegra series is more compatible with ics than exynos things. especially when I compare my p7500 with my i9300. I might be wrong and it can turn up into a kernel issue rather a compatibility one.
Nice
