voodoo app itself is more than sufficient to experience awesome audio quality. I have it on my Captivate from day 1. Enjoy the beats....

Voodoo app = voodoo controller by supercurio. If it doesn't show up in the market, search for xda, and you should see it.
Fyi... It's kernel specific. Therefore if you are on custom roms, make sure to check if the kernel is supported or not.

I noticed in v2.3.6 the headphone sound that come from the device is really higher and more clear from v 2.3.5
any one noticed that too??
I haven't tried it yet...what do you mean? Less cpu noise? Less flat output? That's what bothers me the most...
same o, same o to me, sound still like before
Same to me, but I always use player pro for music playback

I think no it definitely sounds more lively, as was a bit dead and flat before. Its a definite improvement though I don't have my Beyer dt770s with me to be sure.

Hmmm, this is getting interesting. Anyone else noticed any difference? I'll try the firmware tomorrow and see if there are any differences, if i won't be too busy. Damn I hate working on saturdays
Same kernel or a different one when moving to 2.3.6?
No difference imo in comparison to 2.3.5
Don't think so. Hardware is fundamentally incapable of pushing better quality.

I agree, but there was considerable improvement going from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5. I can hear a drastic difference with my custom in ear monitors. So maybe it could be even better with 2.3.6..
Recently, I transferred a heap of 320kbps MP3 songs to my Galaxy S3 to listen to songs on-the-go, but the average "feel" of the sound is ****tier than on my laptop, and I am only using one headset for both, my Audio Technica M50.
Are there any presets I could use which offer a better "feel" with PowerAMP or are there some other sound drivers I could install? I thought the audio chip in the S3 was some top-notch Wolfson?
Download neutron music player from the play store, its way better than poweramp.
There's a 64bit mode too for higher quality audio.
It costs a few euro but not much, its worth the money.
The UI isn't great but the sound quality makes up for it.

Bought it as per your request, changed from 32bit to 64bit and started one of my favorite songs (Carolus Rex (eng. ver.) by Sabaton) and it's a lot better

May I inquire the name of such kernel? Also, would it work well with the latest CM10 nightly where codeworkz has included some goodies?

Yaarr, tis aosp ye be using!
Well in that case I think siyah MAY have built a kernel that includes the mem leak fix and all that, but I'm not sure.
I'm using DLI8 right now with Perseus kernel and I know for sure he has no aosp version yet.

I debloat the crap out of it! Nothing is safe from being deleted!
I'm gonna give cm10 a try once they get it 100%
Right now I just wanna try out what Samsung has to offer on the JB side of things!

You oughtta try HyperGalaxy, then!
By the way, with memleaks fixed and Youtube completely working, I'd say CM is very well worth trying.
Trying JB, then flash the latest Siyah kernel. Great sound fixes etc
On XXDLI8 now with Siyah, JKay theme (he has fixed a lot of broken things too) and remember to get the transparency bug fix that is lurking as well...
It's perfect now, highly recommend that combo! smooth as butter after bloatware is removed.. smoother than CM10 from reports too (just saying don't flame me lol).

Where is the option for neither?
Voodoo. Its the only option for audiophiles.
So where is voodoo? I knew about it on my fascinate but didn't know it was on htc devices

I think you may have gotten lost. This is the Fascinate forum. Voodoo is only supported on phones with the Wolfson WM8994 audio chip (i.e. Galaxy S, Nexus S phones, Galaxy Tab), and the WM8903 (Asus Transformer).
Voodoo isn't included because it pretty much installed ON EVRY CUSTOM ROM so there's no choice but with these you have too flash them

Okay this is been driving me crazy because you've been doing it in like every post. Too ≠ To. You only ever use "too" as an adverb or adjective ("too much", "too little", "I liked that app too") whereas "to" is used as a preposition (basically everywhere that doesn't fit the 'too' definition).
The only question I have is why is this in development

Huh? I feel like I've been taking crazy pills.
I was under the impression the Fascinate *is* a Galaxy S variant and keeps the Wolfson WM8994 sound chip. I installed Voodoo Sound from the Play store and am able to tinker with all sorts of settings just fine on my Fascinate.
If I'm completely wrong here can you please verify which audio chip the Fascinate uses?
Voodoo ftw

You are in the right spot. HTC guy was the lost one
Hey guys i made this video to check how good is the boomsound of htc one compared to tablets, as we all know that it has beaten all the smartphones in the market right now!
So, lets see how it performs with tablets!
Thanks for the video! I really really really love the sound I'm getting from my One and I am VERY picky.
I can say without hesitation that this is my favorite phone owned, to date. I had the iPhone 5, 4S, HTC Evo, G1. All great phones but this wins.

What's the best rom/kernel combination for audiophiles?
Get faux kernel with his software purchased or ausdim kernel also with implemented sound control to boost some gain on the output, nothing extraordinary but works well

Are there any advantages to faux kernel and software? It's kinda pricey
Bahahahahaha ) Damn your OP made me laugh. Audiophiles don't listen to music on phones. People who may think they're audiophiles might tho.
