What's the best rom/kernel combination for audiophiles?
Get faux kernel with his software purchased or ausdim kernel also with implemented sound control to boost some gain on the output, nothing extraordinary but works well

Are there any advantages to faux kernel and software? It's kinda pricey
Bahahahahaha ) Damn your OP made me laugh. Audiophiles don't listen to music on phones. People who may think they're audiophiles might tho.

You prefer it over Acid Audio Mod ?
Viper has so many audio features you can play with. I've never got acid to work with the S4. Doesn't appear to be updated anymore

old news but good for everyone else to see..
Does anybody know what xLoud will do? From a quick search I find it will just make the speakers louder?

god I hope so, this phone is about 75% as loud as my previous phone.
I've had 2.3.4 on my HTC Eris for like 5 months. Its a wierd feeling to upgrade my phone and downgrade my OS.
I was hoping for an August release, when they release Xperia Ray and other new phones.

But we have terrible vibration :\ Haptic feedback on my gf's HTC Desire Z is much better than it is on my XPlay.
wow, after installing pershoot's 1.4ghz TW kernel, voodoo controller and player pro I can honestly say that this device has the best audio ihave ever heard!
The bass, mids and highs are amazing... Even with my cheap samsung headphones purchased for $8 at Ross, LOL! Be jammin!
What do yall think?

Voodoo app = voodoo controller by supercurio. If it doesn't show up in the market, search for xda, and you should see it.
Fyi... It's kernel specific. Therefore if you are on custom roms, make sure to check if the kernel is supported or not.

Recently, I transferred a heap of 320kbps MP3 songs to my Galaxy S3 to listen to songs on-the-go, but the average "feel" of the sound is ****tier than on my laptop, and I am only using one headset for both, my Audio Technica M50.
Are there any presets I could use which offer a better "feel" with PowerAMP or are there some other sound drivers I could install? I thought the audio chip in the S3 was some top-notch Wolfson?
Download neutron music player from the play store, its way better than poweramp.
There's a 64bit mode too for higher quality audio.
It costs a few euro but not much, its worth the money.
The UI isn't great but the sound quality makes up for it.

Bought it as per your request, changed from 32bit to 64bit and started one of my favorite songs (Carolus Rex (eng. ver.) by Sabaton) and it's a lot better

And like bala said, flash a kernel with certain sound mods included (careful not to infringe any copyrights ) and sit back and enjoy the sweet sweet music.....

May I inquire the name of such kernel? Also, would it work well with the latest CM10 nightly where codeworkz has included some goodies?

Yaarr, tis aosp ye be using!
Well in that case I think siyah MAY have built a kernel that includes the mem leak fix and all that, but I'm not sure.
I'm using DLI8 right now with Perseus kernel and I know for sure he has no aosp version yet.

Right now I just wanna try out what Samsung has to offer on the JB side of things!

You oughtta try HyperGalaxy, then!
By the way, with memleaks fixed and Youtube completely working, I'd say CM is very well worth trying.
Trying JB, then flash the latest Siyah kernel. Great sound fixes etc
On XXDLI8 now with Siyah, JKay theme (he has fixed a lot of broken things too) and remember to get the transparency bug fix that is lurking as well...
It's perfect now, highly recommend that combo! smooth as butter after bloatware is removed.. smoother than CM10 from reports too (just saying don't flame me lol).

i installed it successfully on RR v3 ......
Being that beats is no more than an equalizer preset, can't we just, I dunno, change the equalizer in our respective music players?
Does not seem like a very convenient solution to me too. If it worked with all players it would be great. But if it works with one player only I think using a decent player with equalizer (e.g. Poweramp) is far more reasonable. But thanks for the tipp anyway. I am sure there are users who will like it.

Just some information.
After successfully installed beats audio. You might see update available in playstore.
You can choose not to update, since it was the samething without any noticeable changes is up to your own decision. But for those going to update. You might see your beats audio convert to dsp manager. Even change to dsp manager, it still remain same when you go into equalizer setting.

Those are the most common buzzwords ever. You might as well stop making it. Also, just asking "I'm making a ROM anyone interested" is just stupid. It's like saying "hey I'm gonna post my boot animation if anyone's interested" out of nowhere.
