Songs on the phone sound ****ter than on PC - Galaxy S III General

Recently, I transferred a heap of 320kbps MP3 songs to my Galaxy S3 to listen to songs on-the-go, but the average "feel" of the sound is ****tier than on my laptop, and I am only using one headset for both, my Audio Technica M50.
Are there any presets I could use which offer a better "feel" with PowerAMP or are there some other sound drivers I could install? I thought the audio chip in the S3 was some top-notch Wolfson?

Download neutron music player from the play store, its way better than poweramp.
There's a 64bit mode too for higher quality audio.
It costs a few euro but not much, its worth the money.
The UI isn't great but the sound quality makes up for it.

May I inquire the name of such kernel? Also, would it work well with the latest CM10 nightly where codeworkz has included some goodies?

You oughtta try HyperGalaxy, then!
By the way, with memleaks fixed and Youtube completely working, I'd say CM is very well worth trying.

Trying JB, then flash the latest Siyah kernel. Great sound fixes etc
On XXDLI8 now with Siyah, JKay theme (he has fixed a lot of broken things too) and remember to get the transparency bug fix that is lurking as well...
It's perfect now, highly recommend that combo! smooth as butter after bloatware is removed.. smoother than CM10 from reports too (just saying don't flame me lol).

I have a few requests, Make sure S voice still works like it does out of box.
also make sure the whole Widgets/Resizing and any 3rd party widgets aren't broken? i've seen this before..
Do those 2 and ill donate.

here a few things (didn't test myself, but i heard it from other devs)
it will use less ram
it is VERY smooth (scrolling, everything thanks to butter)
games will probably run better
and more ofcourse
and i thing: maybe sony will give it to us because it is faster it requires less ram (ics= 1024mb jb=512mb like the play has)
and it will be better for gaming!!!!

JELLY BEAN is awesome!

So if you are here every day you may realize that I was the guy who kept saying that GB was incredible. But a few days ago I got bored of it and decided to jump directly to JB 4.1.2, I'm using some random rom calles Kang AOKP or so and totally blown away by its smoothness and customization and battery life. I pushed GB to its limit by extreme customization but it was no way this good. Google and developers did follow the right track, this rom is much morw helpful for my daily use. Of course I still find some bugs but I think I'll try another rom and never come back to older versions. ICS was a failure in my eyes but JB is a perfect win for me.
I heard that from 4.1.2 it's a lot different, so I think I'll keep trying with 4.1.2
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
+2 actually.
JB is awesome - as a flashaholic I just wish I could try more of the JB ROMS - but some of the download sites suck speed wise for me! or I can't get to them at the office
Rocking ROMS I have used - Jelly King, Vanilla Rootbox, Super Nexus and RR.
Dual boot Jelly King + whichever takes my fancy for today on Dorimanx 7.10
Improvement over ICS is :laugh::good:
Another Vote For Rootbox...Very Impressive ROM
Jelly Bean is really awesome, pity the big delays that non-nexus devices have to get official ROMs.
Praise the developers that work hard to offer us all the goodies ahead of time

And custom kernels have a workaround for low headphone volume. There aren't really that many noticeable bugs to be honest.

+1 I've tried several ICS ROMs, but was getting great performance with GB so I didn't move. Then moved directly to JB, never look back.
what about project butter? is it implemented in these ROMs?!
I guess not.
I appreciate the hard work that developers put on their ROMs but i think without project butter these are incremental ICS upgrades IMHO

Being that beats is no more than an equalizer preset, can't we just, I dunno, change the equalizer in our respective music players?
Does not seem like a very convenient solution to me too. If it worked with all players it would be great. But if it works with one player only I think using a decent player with equalizer (e.g. Poweramp) is far more reasonable. But thanks for the tipp anyway. I am sure there are users who will like it.

Just some information.
After successfully installed beats audio. You might see update available in playstore.
You can choose not to update, since it was the samething without any noticeable changes is up to your own decision. But for those going to update. You might see your beats audio convert to dsp manager. Even change to dsp manager, it still remain same when you go into equalizer setting.

aside from the very clever answers(!), people can't seem to answer the questions they've been asked. If it doesn't work for you doesn't mean preach what you feel to everyone else. Offer it and say you didnt find much luck with it....it's not hard
try this for an EQ....be warned, you can't see improvements with rubbish audio outputs

I use slim ROM on my nexus 7 and One X, works perfectly for me with Franco's kernel on the tablet. I've never had much luck with AOKP.

aside from the very clever answers(!), people can't seem to answer the questions they've been asked.

Explain more what you're after in the all-in one informative widget...all daily information might be a pretty big widget, but the easy to use one seems to be the google now widget, weather, news, daily commute

King Beatz does not make it louder. Use Nexus Louder. You can change settings for a clearer or louder sound. This mod also has beats, xloud, dolby and tons of other enhancements.
