I noticed in v2.3.6 the headphone sound that come from the device is really higher and more clear from v 2.3.5
any one noticed that too??
I haven't tried it yet...what do you mean? Less cpu noise? Less flat output? That's what bothers me the most...
same o, same o to me, sound still like before
Same to me, but I always use player pro for music playback

I think no it definitely sounds more lively, as was a bit dead and flat before. Its a definite improvement though I don't have my Beyer dt770s with me to be sure.

Hmmm, this is getting interesting. Anyone else noticed any difference? I'll try the firmware tomorrow and see if there are any differences, if i won't be too busy. Damn I hate working on saturdays
Same kernel or a different one when moving to 2.3.6?
No difference imo in comparison to 2.3.5
Don't think so. Hardware is fundamentally incapable of pushing better quality.

I agree, but there was considerable improvement going from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5. I can hear a drastic difference with my custom in ear monitors. So maybe it could be even better with 2.3.6..

I wouldn't get too excited.... It's a base to build from but the overall feel is..... It's no better than froyo just yet..... I thought 2.3 was supposed to make our phones at least comparable to the snapdragon cpu power?
If anyone watched the video.... I was under the impression that quadrant was incompatible with 2.3.... But it runs through flawlessly on the video... Does that strike anyone else as odd?
okay guys! 6 months left till we get it!
New i9000 GB is running great. Will be putting out a stock+fixes build a little later today [hopefully]. GPS still doesn't work, but that's to be expected. Toggle headset still needs to be used to listen to music on headphones. Good news is the ram issue is 100% gone. Stock music player doesn't give reboots either.

Any chance that some if this could be ported to our phone? For example the siri clone or the floating video player or whatever it is that keeps the screen on when you are looking at it

Maybe I should have been more specific. I don't mean the ROM. I meant some of the features from the new touchwiz. Like the one where the screen won't turn off if you are looking at it.

This, yes that is alot easier and more along the lines I would actually bother to download it.
I was able to install s-voice. Im running AOKP build 36. Its works some times. Sometimes it FC, also another thing that happens is the audio being outputted through the earpiece instead of the back speaker.

So how come we don't at least take touchwiz 4.0 off the blaze? it's got pretty much the same hardware. I'm all for ICS, but would really like a update to Touchwiz.

I have a Note and almost all those have been ported/pulled. Take a trip to the i717 forums and see if the pulled .APKs work.
The galaxy s1 had Ports that were crazy coming from the vibrant I know with experience. I guess its difficult with so few devs or I don't know. The vibrant was truly a sublime experience. Too bad that carrier phones don't get good specs or source codes or updates for that matter or this phone would be as fun as the nexus or the international s2. But hey we get burned by the American market every time. If we could get universal technology it would be a bigger market all together.

Recently, I transferred a heap of 320kbps MP3 songs to my Galaxy S3 to listen to songs on-the-go, but the average "feel" of the sound is ****tier than on my laptop, and I am only using one headset for both, my Audio Technica M50.
Are there any presets I could use which offer a better "feel" with PowerAMP or are there some other sound drivers I could install? I thought the audio chip in the S3 was some top-notch Wolfson?
Download neutron music player from the play store, its way better than poweramp.
There's a 64bit mode too for higher quality audio.
It costs a few euro but not much, its worth the money.
The UI isn't great but the sound quality makes up for it.

You oughtta try HyperGalaxy, then!
By the way, with memleaks fixed and Youtube completely working, I'd say CM is very well worth trying.
Trying JB, then flash the latest Siyah kernel. Great sound fixes etc
On XXDLI8 now with Siyah, JKay theme (he has fixed a lot of broken things too) and remember to get the transparency bug fix that is lurking as well...
It's perfect now, highly recommend that combo! smooth as butter after bloatware is removed.. smoother than CM10 from reports too (just saying don't flame me lol).

Hey all,
I was just wondering: how would Gingerbread be on a Nexus 4? Comparing GB and JB on my old phone I think battery life would certainly gain a boost, just like how fluent everything is. Then again I like the JB UI way better, JB has more functions and more apps will be incompatible using GB.
What is your view?

That is impossible unless you're willing to build it and or make sure all drivers work as well and or reverse engineer the drivers to work on GB.
Plus why would you want GB? because of battery? Hell no, JB is much efficient and Android has matured enough.
Why will it never be done? Two words. "Project Butter"

Well, gingerbread isn't ideal to be honest.
However, a port of ICS or JB (4.1) can most likely boost the performance and battery life.
On the nexus 7, 4.1 ran better than 4.2 did. Performance and battery wise.

3r: go to his post and use "battery saver config"
4: enjoy.
there's nothing wrong with the thought, I wondered too but you would have to reverse everything for it and its not worth it, but battery life is better on JB due to optimization, GB was single core days, also many apps may not be supported,
Hey guys i made this video to check how good is the boomsound of htc one compared to tablets, as we all know that it has beaten all the smartphones in the market right now!
So, lets see how it performs with tablets!
Thanks for the video! I really really really love the sound I'm getting from my One and I am VERY picky.
