Hi all,
I've flashed my GS2 one week ago with Lite'ning 1.5, during the week I've purchased ROM Manager Premium. As I wanted to flash again to new Lite'ning 2.0 I've tried to make a rom backup with Rom Manager but I get the error "Failed to verify whole file signature" (android system is 3e). I've tried the CWM Recovery from ROM Manager selecting device Samsung Galaxy S2 but still cannot backup my rom.
I've noticed that the CWM app coming with Lite'ning 1.5 is v1.80 and the one in ROM Manager is 4.0.0.2, could it be the issue?
Please let me know
I've read somewhere that ROM Manager is not compatible with CWM, can anyone confirm it?

Yup, its true. Rom manager isnt compatible. Use the cwm app that is included with the cfroot that chainfire has created.

i was looking through dev section and Q and A but cant seem to find out which clockwork mod do i need to restore my stock mt4g rom back up because each time i try i get stuck on the splash screen and nothing happens.. thanks a lot and i am a noob sorry
The latest one through Rom Manager 3.0.2.4, 3.0.0.6 and 2.5.1.2 all support Froyo based ROMs. Download Rom Manager from the market if you haven't already and flash 3.0.2.4, it handles both Froyo and Gingerbread ROMs.

That depends on what your trying to flash. If your trying to flash the pd15img you can't do that from recovery. If your trying to flash one the posted roms do as the previous poster suggested and download the rom manager

Booted Fine on Incredible 2.
Haven't tested anything yet, but it looks promising.
I'm going to flash it on Fascinate tonight.
Appears I have an incompatible version of CWM Recovery. Rom Manager wants to flash one however it only gives the option to flash an I-9000 version and I-9000 MTD. Is it safe to say I'm better off doing an Odin flash of a compatible CWM instead of doing everything through the Rom Manager?

you should already have CWM installed. when it asked if you installe it manually select yes and then select the cwm 3.x one. then Rom manager will work just fine
2.3.7 ftw... runs terrific on the Fascinate. No bugs or issues yet. Nice and stable.
i don't see much of a difference yet.
Correct me if i am wrong but CM7 has been using 2.3.7 for a while correct?

So the I-9000 version of CWM Recovery is safe to flash on my SCH-500?
edit: scratch all of that. apparently Rom Manager thinks i'm sporting an I-9000 based on the roms it's displaying. Odin when I get home.
CM7.1 very smooth on Fassy. I'm still riding on the kernel jt built for it, pondering glitch but testing the battery on jt's for a day first. Very nice ROM as always
Any idea why does CWM Recovery not work for me ?? i tried to install g3mod 2.1 2.1 2.2.1 but none of them worked. Then i thought of installing a custom rom so i flashed kyrillos' rom 9.0. but still no luck. the problem is that the phone boots into recovery but none of the features work like .zip update from sdcard. Backup/Restore etc... it says erroro can't mount E:/... something like that. the only case when cwm works for me is while using marcellusbe's cm7.1. Any idea how to make it working on kyrillos' rom 9.0. Beacuse of the same reason i am not able to upgrade to kyrillos' 9.2 which is an update.zip
flash kyrillos rom again using odin, and then flash g3mod kernel using odin.
this should solve your problem
Same problem with me....
If not work anything try kyrillos rom 7.0 and don't flash g3mod..

After I rooted my Galaxy Note I had ChainFire's modified ROM Manager app. Unfortunately, after I installed a new ROM I could not find the app again. Can someone direct me to it? Thanks.
I would like to have it too.

I forgot to backup cf Cwm manager as well when I flashed a rom... Can someone kindly upload the apk for it please?
Thanks in advance.
I think if ChainFire wanted CWM Manager freely distributed, he would, well, distribute it freely!
My suggestion - flash a CF kernel to get the app, back it up, and then reflash whichever kernel you desire.

Dave

It's not even for sale. Nor is it his app - he just modified it. I purchased ChainFire's Mobile ODIN, but it doesn't provide the same functionality. In the mean time, I will be waiting for Koush to release a compatible recovery for the Note.

Are you quite sure about that?
Quoted from here:
CWM Manager
Because of incompatibilities with ROM Manager, I wrote and included "CWM Manager". This is a new app (as of March 30, 2011). You can find it under Applications -> CWM. It is much faster to use than manually booting into CWM and selecting these options.

As far as I'm aware, CWM Manager is a *new* application, and is not based on ROM Manager.

Greetings everyone this is my first post! I am aware of the noob video and I did search the forums first but my question I believe is too general so I thought a post was necessary.
I have a Samsung galaxy S4 (SPH-720) that I rooted back during Jelly bean version 4.2.2 .
My main reason for rooting the phone was getting the hotspot for free.
Now that I am rooted the phone constantly (weekly) is trying to update me to MF9.
I tried the manual way to update the mf9 on qbking77s' page to no avail.
With both the air version of the update and the manual (qbking77 SD card) I can get to the acceptance screen and it starts but will not complete the update. It shows the Droid on his back with his belly open, then it restarts and powers' up.
I'd also like the ability to move a large gaming app to my SD card (I read this was a capability of Mf9).
Lastly, what I'm trying to learn here is how do I keep my phone updated with what the carrier (Sprint) wants me to have now that I'm rooted?
The apps that I am running for the root process etc. are
Super SU
Rom Installer
Rom Toolbox Lite
Root Checker Basic
PdaNet+ (Hotspot)
You can Odin the MF9 or MJA(4.3) stock tar and then root from there

It should be safe to flash a 4.3 ROM from 4.2.2. I did it with no issues using philz recovery and flashing sacs 4.3. Also flashed the mf9 radio through odin and all without a hiccup.
Hello all..
Hello all, not so much as a noob to the website but a noob to posting. I have a Galaxy4 running Sacs rom 4.3 and it seems to be just fine. I did notice that I didn't see the Aroma installer. Never gave me the options other than the google setup. Hmm

The AROMA installer runs when you install the ROM. I don't believe you can install it at all unless there was a version released without the AROMA installer.
The installer is run in recovery.

I was thinking the same thing, but I don't believe it ever showed its self. I booted in Philz recovery and installed Sacs rom and Aroma never showed its head. After the Rom installed through Philz it restarted and went right into Google setup. Strange.
Any one mind..
posting a link where to find the proper link to flash (as you say) to 4.3
and philz recovery.
Sorry if I seem like myself here a total NOOB!!!
Thanks
