Looking for ChainFire's modified ROM Manager APK.... - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

After I rooted my Galaxy Note I had ChainFire's modified ROM Manager app. Unfortunately, after I installed a new ROM I could not find the app again. Can someone direct me to it? Thanks.

I would like to have it too.

I forgot to backup cf Cwm manager as well when I flashed a rom... Can someone kindly upload the apk for it please?
Thanks in advance.

I think if ChainFire wanted CWM Manager freely distributed, he would, well, distribute it freely!
My suggestion - flash a CF kernel to get the app, back it up, and then reflash whichever kernel you desire.
Regards,
Dave

It's not even for sale. Nor is it his app - he just modified it. I purchased ChainFire's Mobile ODIN, but it doesn't provide the same functionality. In the mean time, I will be waiting for Koush to release a compatible recovery for the Note.

Are you quite sure about that?
Quoted from here:
CWM Manager
Because of incompatibilities with ROM Manager, I wrote and included "CWM Manager". This is a new app (as of March 30, 2011). You can find it under Applications -> CWM. It is much faster to use than manually booting into CWM and selecting these options.

As far as I'm aware, CWM Manager is a *new* application, and is not based on ROM Manager.

Booted Fine on Incredible 2.
Haven't tested anything yet, but it looks promising.
I'm going to flash it on Fascinate tonight.
Appears I have an incompatible version of CWM Recovery. Rom Manager wants to flash one however it only gives the option to flash an I-9000 version and I-9000 MTD. Is it safe to say I'm better off doing an Odin flash of a compatible CWM instead of doing everything through the Rom Manager?

you should already have CWM installed. when it asked if you installe it manually select yes and then select the cwm 3.x one. then Rom manager will work just fine
2.3.7 ftw... runs terrific on the Fascinate. No bugs or issues yet. Nice and stable.
i don't see much of a difference yet.
Correct me if i am wrong but CM7 has been using 2.3.7 for a while correct?

So the I-9000 version of CWM Recovery is safe to flash on my SCH-500?
edit: scratch all of that. apparently Rom Manager thinks i'm sporting an I-9000 based on the roms it's displaying. Odin when I get home.
CM7.1 very smooth on Fassy. I'm still riding on the kernel jt built for it, pondering glitch but testing the battery on jt's for a day first. Very nice ROM as always

[Q] N7000DXLA1_N7000OLBKL2_XME - Kernel (Malaysia)

Dear Chainfire,
Can you help to make CF-Root for this N7000DXLA1_N7000OLBKL2_XME - Kernel that can update from CWM?
Please go to CF-Root thread and download the firmware to revert to older rom plus root. Then
1) buy Chainfire's Odin Mobile and use it to flash N7000DXLA1_N7000OLBKL2_XME.
or
2) flash any custom ROM via CWM recovery.

No feedback at all from Chainfire.......
Just update to this latest version.
Lighting fast and solves the problem of hanging and inability to read the apps in Ext SD. So fast has not experience that problem yet - touch wood.
Has a few Launcher Installed (ADW, 360, & Go Launchers) all working well.
Still has the original Tw Launcher but hardly it now.
Quite happy with the stock rom now. Has no intention to root it, yet.
Will continue to wait for updates from Samsung and hope ICS will come along soon.

[ROOT SUCCESS+ GT-N7100 [Leaked firmware] N7100XXUEMJ5 (JB 4.3) - Open Asia (OLB)

I managed to get root, and with the help of the KNOX Disabler app, I disabled Knox nonsense, using RootExplorer, deleted the Knox files from /system/apps folder.
You need to flash Philz_touch_5.15.0-n7100.tar.md5 recovery, reboot. Switch off phone. Start phone in recovery mode. Flash CWM-SuperSu-v0.99.zip in Philz_touch_5.15.0-n7100.tar.md5.
Restart phone and run previously installed KNOX Disabler. I downloaded and installed the version 1.0.1.

I did not care about Knox warranty, however following your question I went into download mode. This is what I see:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7100
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (12 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
WARRANTY BIT: 0
That is all the information at present. I hope this answers your question.

Sorry--but this is a bit ambiguous--
"Flash CWM-SuperSu-v0.99.zip in Philz_touch_5.15.0-n7100.tar.md5."
I follow that we Flash CWM-Supersu-v.0.99. zip in Philz Recovery[which we have previously flashed to device with ODIN]--but what is the tar.md5 bit about--surely we don't reflash Philz in ODIN, again--or, are you simply referring to the, now, on board, CWM Recovery?
Not trying to be a 'smart-alec' just not following.

Hey, @YOSEFE, just another question--which ROM were you using before you Flashed this latest leak?
Reason I'm asking is that, I am currently on Dr.Ketan's 'hybrid' ROM which is a mix of XXMI6, and XXMJ2 plus mods taken from latest Note3 firmwares--and, it's great with many things not available to standard Note 2.
I would like your opinion of this latest leak firmware, XXUEMJ5, and how it compares--presumably it doesn't have any of the fancy Note 3 'gizmos'???
But, is it fast, smooth, clean, not buggy. etc....
BTW I'm not saying that Dr. K's ROM is not super fast, smooth, clean, etc...in fact it's excellent but, just wanting a comparison, to see if there was any good reason to Flash it.

Philz Recovery will have already been flashed by others, however I mention it because there will be those who have not flashed anything past the firmware or ROM.
If CWM Recovery works for anyone that is fine too, but I have flashed Philz Recovery on advice somewhere in a thread. (Lazy me, can't say which thread).

I was on XXMI6. The ROM can be a bit laggy. As someone pointed out to me, it is only a test firmware. Nevertheless, it is smooth enough for my daily use.
There are obviously no Note 3 goodies on the ROM. If those are very important to you, and considering the amount of trouble you have gone through to flash Doc's ROM, I would say keep Doc's ROM.

What's a good lightweight, no bloat TW rom? I noticed Omega has a lot of additional features, which I would never use like the Xposed framework.
I was thinking of going with Goldeneye, but not sure if it has been updated to support I337M again.

Goldeneye never lost compatibility with our phones, so not sure what kind of support you expect or require.? IB4STiD simply requested not to complain from Canadian side for known problems, like lack of 4.3 modem for our phone, which we now got.
Simply flash Canadian compatible third party kernel, (one without knox) after flashing goldeneye, that's it.

It's in GE thread, first post, Canadian fix. Guess iB4STiD opened it up for us again.
But basically go to original development and whichever tw kernel you pick, follow the links to Canadian or T-Mobile compatible version. Kernel makers usually describe whether we have our own or we should use T-Mobile one

So, as I understand, we absolutely need this Advanced CWM recovery if we are running MK6.
We can't use standard CWM or TWRP recovery?

From what I gather, we can use CWM or TWRP, it just blows the Knox counter and warranty is void. Which is why cf-auto-root can still root, and why u can just throw rom manager on to install cwm (then remove, dont install roms with rom manager). This is only for MK6 (rogers/canadian). I would try a cwm or twrp, and just use cf-auto root to reinstall the stock recovery with odin if you run into problems.

This is only relevant for GE versions 13/14. The latest is GE15. As already explained, just follow steps in 1st post. There is a section called 'Canadian install guide', can't miss it. The fix you flash after the rom is the kernel for our baseband (Step A). Easy as pie. Step B is optional, changes network icons from default to whatever your carrier uses (e.g., 4G to LTE).
I would recommend creating a backup of stock once rooted before flashing custom roms. Not sure if there's ever going to be a fix for resetting knox, but traditionally it was a good idea to have this in case you ever want to revert back to stock and unroot. Also backup EFS to be safe, for more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546. I personally had to use an app for that after updating, knox kept preventing me from connecting to the program but that was when OTA was launched, might work for you.

Questions about CyanogenMod

Hey guys, I'm new here.Soon my new Nexus4 will arrive and i have some questions about installing cyanogenmod.
1.Can I install cyanogenmod with the new cm installer on this device??
2.If this is possible and i install cyanogenmod, how do i update the version if a newer one is released ??
3.I red that the cm intaller install a custom recovery too, if i dont like the cyanogen mod can i install other roms or i must do something before ??
4.If i use this cm installer i know that i will lose my warranty, am i right ?? And if yes, is there any posiblity to restore the phone to original state (i mean lock back the bootloader and others) ?
Thanks
On the same page of this forum is a Cyanogenmod Q & A thread, I would start there and READ.

I prefer installing ROMs through a custom recovery because you can unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery without disturbing the phone's existing ROM.

Not actually, you need to flash it via fastboot after installing device drivers from your computer. Which is a small tool that comes with Android SDK. (You can find it everywhere)
But I am sure there are flashable recovery ZIPs for stock ROMs on this forum.

Here's a link to WUG's toolkit that can help with your Nexus 4: http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
Being that you're a noob (just like me) you may want to try flashing things with the android SDK instead of a toolkit (not saying it's bad, I've actually never used it). I just started messing with my nexus 4 using the SDK and some of the write ups here and found them really helpful and I learned a lot. Then again, if you consider yourself computer illiterate (not saying you are, your choice) you may WANT to use the toolkit. Just my .02.

You can download app as an apk file from their site: http://beta.download.cyanogenmod.org/install
It is a Nexus device, so it is hard to brick it.
I have been using custom ROMS from first day I bought the device and I haven't got a problem. As I said you can revert back to stock ROM or just try another ROM.
No one can warrant you that everything will work and there is always a chance of brick, but not too much if you do everything right.
so just update to latest official version of kitkat and then i use that cm installer without anything to do before like root or unlock bootloader ?
