Any radio above 2.07 is sufficient. The forum members seem to agree that 2.12 or 2.15 works the best. Personally, I think 2.12 gives the best results both on the battery life front as well as data connectivity.
Also, you can't be using the latest version of HSPL. It has to be 2.08.
Happy flashing!
One final note...isn't the file name usually something like RUU.exe? I remember that there tend to be like 8 exe's in any ROM update folder but only one is the right one. Make sure you're running the right one.

Hey guys & gals,
Prob been asked many times but I can't find the right answer anywhere.
My friend has a HD2 on O2 network in the UK, we have installed SPL 2.08.HSPL
We then set the Radio to 2.07.50 as stated in the 'energy' rom thread.
We downloaded the Energy Dinik Glass ROM but every time we try to install this ROM we get 'error 244 "Invalid Model ID" '
Any ideas on what we are doing wrong?
thanks
Darren
wrong thread sorry
double check you 'really' installed 2.08.hspl. Many people choose '2.08.0000' in the hspl dropdown instead of 2.08.hspl
.0000 means stock.
.hspl means hacked
Boot into bootloader and see what it says next to 'spl'.
If it ends .0000 then hspl isn't installed.

Yup definatley 2.08.HSPL, I checked this morning because I didn't believe he had done it by himself (hes not technical minded & gets me to do all his dirty work)
After HSPL I changed his radio as it was runing something like 2.07.51xxxxx
I was thinking maybe its a American ROM and he has a UK phone?

wouldn't matter, tmous roms work fine on euro leo, just not the other way around.
not sure what to suggest. if anything occurs I'll be sure and post it.
in the meantime, i think I'd go back to stock (stock rom through sd card) and start over.
ok,
I downloaded the standard energy ROM and that worked first time!
he wanted the Glass version so I will look into it.
Thanks for your help and I will let you know if it is the glass ROM

Tried that originally; wasn't the problem.
Sorry, not DAF.exe.
It's ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
Try that.
I'm very new to this, though not the flashing of ROMS.
This may help someone as green as me...
After a few hours of staring at a black screen with some very tiny text at the top I decided to update my radio. I had a stock ROM on the HD2 so the radio version was about 2.08, I think.
Having flashed Radio 2.15.50.14 I more or less instanly had a loading screen with a nice animated Andriod, and a few minutes later was booted into Andriod.
So, make sure your Radio is fairly up to date!
yep, thats instruction 2 in pretty much all the 'how to' threads, right after '1 apply HSPL'. But finding it out the hard way will make you remember it, hehe.
Hah! I was dead tired when I posted last night and this is in the wrong thread :-(
I'll now try and put it where it belongs...

Sorry for the Question but it magldr really dangerous for HD2?
I know that writing a dirty code in the Radio Rom onthefly.
I think it was a code of HTC Desire.
But what is when i go back to hspl 2.08.0000?
Then isn't possible to write a dirty code in the Radio ROM.
Or not?
It´s only an Idea.
No, it's not dangerous
But why have many users problems with magldr?
Not with clk. I dont know why.
That makes everyone insecure.

yep sure, it will burn your car
Magldr simply is an OS witch can load other OS.. it has his kernel etc etc.. So, you could unplug cable when phone is flashing magldr, it's only a "copy" of the data into NAND SD
you can't unplug cable when you're flashing ROM RADIO, and SPL, in that case phone freezes, and, i think it's definitely dead, or you can try to reput SPL files in ROM memory via htc's serial cable, sure, not with USB cable
So, Magldr is the same as Windows Mobile, you install it by using the same method, by HSPL, as you do with Windows Mobile, and, if you unplug cable when you're uploading original Windows Mobile, phone will boot in SPL, but not in WM (because you don't have files in the NAND ROM)
i hope you'll understand what's the difference between OS and SPL.. thus.. what is magldr

who has problems?
the only issue in 1.13 is the charging mode, you can't charge phone when it's offiine, magldr freezes and (in 1.13 reboots, in 1.12 freeze phone), i think it happens because magldr doesen't have the right "libreries" witch can "load" the charging process, if you see, in all phones, when you plug the carging cable, phone will load something.. in nokia, phones boots and you see the charging icon in the screen, in htc phone boots and you see the led indicator, so, in chargin mode, phone's hardware is on, it's 'configuring' the right way to charge battery (that's not so simply)
other issues? i have WP7, and i didn't have problems with all WP7 rom i tryed, with android roms too, i think you could have a broken HD2, or a tmobile version (you have to upgrade the certify android tmobile version rom).. if you can't flash android or wp7 roms by magldr, i think you don't have the right driver in windows, so windows (pc) can't talk with hd2
if you have problems, write here

This is not a statement on my part but I've read about this and i am now unsure.
what exactly have you read?
Thats magldr brick hd2 because a dirty code for activated rmnet.
Dirty code from hd desire and this maybe on the fly write this in the Radio ROM.

maybe they have a brocken hd2, or a driver conflict in windows (pc)
if you can flash wm6.5 roms with hspl 2.08 you can load magldr. if you don't have hspl 2.08 you can't load hspl (and cooked roms)
i think users has problems, not phones

i reflashed magldr for about 30 times.. no one problem.. and i'm using it by the first 1.10 version
EDIT: maybe that users downloads magldr not in this forum, and maybe someone modifies magldr.nbh files with an haked radio witch has the malware
Cotulla has open my eyes and now i see the world clearer.
He is very cool. Thanks Master Cotulla.
Maybe he write down the facts about magldr and clk.
No danger of both.
There were just rumors.
Its really dangerous!! Im serious!!! IF you flash it then you device will explode!!!!!
...
Its safe
You only makes fun of me.
I only readed this. No more.
You use magldr or clk? Hmmmmm???
ive had my hd2 for nearly 18 months and was new to all this lol
i remember the days when i had android on my sd card and everytime u rebooted,it went back to windows mobile lol. then 1 day i saw on youtube a lad puttin a cyanogen mod rom on via cwm and magldr.........I WET MYSELF lol and av never looked back. yeh,i **** myself 1st time cos i to worried about brickin my phone. but all U AV TO DO is follow all the instructions EXACTLY as they say and u won't brick ur phone.your best and safest option is to search rootin hd2 on youtube, download all there files in the link and also most videos show them doin it,so follow it step by step, pausin the video as u go along(makes it easier) then ur laughin,u need any help inbox me and i'll even find u the video/person i watched and learned from, magldr is spot on,then u'll step up to cwm lol,i av cos its abit more straight forward,u just put the file on ur sd card and install via cwm,it extracts and installs for u,simple............hope this convinces u lol
I have no problem with flashing but another users have many problems and also 2-4-8 Weeks/Month after flashing. 3 reboots and.....crash...nothing more.
And now? What is the reason? No Hardreset...nothing help...Upsssss....

Two things, I understand your awareness of the sudden influx of bad block information, but dear God man please use some contextual syntax so that people better understand you. One sentence or phrase that fully describes your thoughts in your opinion isn't necessarily the proper way to communicate clearly to other people.
Bad blocks people, OP is talking about bad blocks
I was trying to put android in HD2 and i was following a guide, i did HardSPL, updated radio and then i installed MAGLDR, after installing the phone rebooted and all i get is HTC's white boot screen with htc written in green....please please help..
The big problem is that, it isnt my phone and my friend trusted me and gave it to me for installing android...

in that case you8 chose the wrong hspl / radio
it MUST say ''2.08.hspl'' in bootloader, ands it MUST be radio 2.xx.50 where xx is 07 or higher, and the 50 is a 50 and NOT a 51
But, since you decided against telling us WHICH hspl and WHICH radio you flashed (we're good, but not psychic ) we cant confirm whether you chose teh right ones.

hard reset doesn't do anything once magldr is installed. (Yes, magldr is installed, but it cant start until you fix teh hspl / radio issue.)

Done i have ICS 4.0.4 !!
I was right you guys are the best thank you so much
I have hd2 rooted magldr 1.13 on it, and I'm usually installing NAND roms(becouse I have slow 4GB class 4 card) and non of them are good, I don't know what am I doing wrong or all of roms are unstable and a lot of thing are not working(I read what is working, and what is not in thread of ROM that I am installing). Almost every time I have problem with signal streight and mobile network. I install last version of radio I tried previous version of it two, and still same. I am currently searching for some stable rom with Sense and version 2.3.5 or later version, so If you can suggest me some that would be great. I did search for them but as I said they were all unstable, camera was awful picture was falling apart, that thing with signal and mobile network. Only thing that I didn't try was returning him to windows mobile OS to see if that things happend there two.

that's because mtty drivers are not installed/set up correctly on your computer. but why going for mtty?
just enter bootloader and flash the ruu from pc and see if your problem persists

I am in the process of installing energy rom now. Can you tell me do I have to do task29 if I'm coming from another ROM every time I want to install other rom or just do a DFT from that rom that I'm installing ?
you can task29 using hd2 toolkit.
you can also use it to partition your phone as needed

it is RECOMMENDED but not NECESSARY. i did it 1-2 times till now (celebrating a year of flashing roms 4 times/week)
by DFT do you mean repartitionning? if so, yes. it's enough
