Can't seem to instal ROM - HD2 General

Hey guys & gals,
Prob been asked many times but I can't find the right answer anywhere.
My friend has a HD2 on O2 network in the UK, we have installed SPL 2.08.HSPL
We then set the Radio to 2.07.50 as stated in the 'energy' rom thread.
We downloaded the Energy Dinik Glass ROM but every time we try to install this ROM we get 'error 244 "Invalid Model ID" '
Any ideas on what we are doing wrong?
thanks
Darren

wrong thread sorry

double check you 'really' installed 2.08.hspl. Many people choose '2.08.0000' in the hspl dropdown instead of 2.08.hspl
.0000 means stock.
.hspl means hacked
Boot into bootloader and see what it says next to 'spl'.
If it ends .0000 then hspl isn't installed.

Removed, wrong thred responded to

Yup definatley 2.08.HSPL, I checked this morning because I didn't believe he had done it by himself (hes not technical minded & gets me to do all his dirty work)
After HSPL I changed his radio as it was runing something like 2.07.51xxxxx
I was thinking maybe its a American ROM and he has a UK phone?

wouldn't matter, tmous roms work fine on euro leo, just not the other way around.
not sure what to suggest. if anything occurs I'll be sure and post it.
in the meantime, i think I'd go back to stock (stock rom through sd card) and start over.

ok,
I downloaded the standard energy ROM and that worked first time!
he wanted the Glass version so I will look into it.
Thanks for your help and I will let you know if it is the glass ROM

how to remove hpsl?

I read on another thread how to uninstall HPSL from your HD2 is the process for the non t-mobile branded phone the same as the one for T-mobile. The reason I ask this is my phone has some really bad dead pixels and I still am within my return period and I'm going to swap the phone out. I don't want dumb customer service thinking flashing caused the dead pixels. Wish there was a way to fix the pixels i've did some searches nothing really worked. Thanks point me in the direction how to remove HPSL.
reflash stock rom
flash any of the tmous stock roms over usb, then run hspl1024 and choose 2.08.0000
Ok recently I flashed the version 2.10.1 *No Stock SPL!!! to get my phone back working like it was from t-mobile so I need a different stock rom with an SPL correct you stated. Flash a stock rom then run hspl1024 and choose 2.08.0000 what is 2.08.0000 the radio or rom, because I don't see that version on the thread with the stock roms. I just need a little more clarity before doing it thanks.
Ok I think I understand what you're saying now I'm going to try to get it done and let you know what happens thanks appreciate it.

basically you no longer need to find a stock rom with a stock spl, , , hspl1024 now includes the stock spl as well as the hspl. when you run hspl1024, there's a dropdown list. If you pick one that ends 0000 then it will flash a stock spl to your phone. If it ends hspl, then it flashes hspl to your phone. easy.

sam - thanks for you info and help, lots of people are asking and you have been very clear in how to flash custom roms after flashing the 2.13 rom. Do you know of work being done on the latest htc spl to Hspl? - so that flashing an old rom will again not be needed?
side question - does the spl have anything to do with performance or battery life? I'm on my 3rd day of this battery charge, I rarely have made it to the 2nd day before.

Confused

Hy guys and girls.
I am a bit confused here and would like to ask for some help, by the way I already spent a lot of time lookign for answers here but I get more and more confused.
Well I wanted to try some Roms and I saw the high suggestions to install the HDPL first to avoid bricking my expensive HD2, well I tried but the problem is here.
FYI my HD2 is a Telstra version. It came with a black GUI style I guess it was the world wide version, but I am not sure as I did not recorded any info (did not thought on that), then I installed the original Australian Rom (at that time I was not looking for fancy Rom just for the latest upgrade and did not even know about cooked roms). Then I came back to the worl wide version because the autralian one was too bloated, not as nice as the black GUI and it was slower.
Finally I tried the HSPL2 to start tring with ROMs but it gave me an error message telling me I had the wrong version or something like that (I supposed because it is the Telstra version).
Then I tried the HSPL (older) but it gave me an error message telling me I need version 1.42.00. Here it get confused for me: When I do VolDwn + Power I get the following information:
PB81110 HX-BC
SPL-1.42.HSPL XE
0X05
CotullaHSPL 0x40
Serial
1st - Well I read that 1.42.HSPL was supported by HSPL so why it is not being accepted?
2nd - Why my unit is stating CotullaHSPL if I never installed it before? Cotulla comes with it?
3rd - Whats is HSPL in a interaction perspective? It is just a software that sit there and work alone without any GUI or it is something that does have a GUI that I can choose options and things to do? I am still lost on that.
4th - Sorry for the noob questions, but I apreciate if there is someone with patience to help me out (thats what I do when I can help someone).
Thank you
Felipe
Try reading the post about the HSPL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
and this tutorial about flashing ROMs:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Concerning your questions (I'm no expert either, but here goes):
1. You already have HSPL, so no need to install it again
2. Cotulla is (one of) the developer(s) of the HSPL, sort of a copyright
3. HSPL is a peace of software that essentially allows you to install other (custom made) ROMs or ROMs with another language. It has no Userinterface, but loads the ROM on your device
4. Your welcome
Ok but how it happened to get in there if I could not install it?
Perhaps it came with Telstra?

No, it will deffinately not have shipped with HSPL installed.
Sounds to me like someone already hspl'd it and installed a new rom. (black gui?)
did you buy it second hand?

Hell no I bought it on Expansys, however the box that it came on had a picture of a Telstra one, with blue theme, but when I turned it on it was the world wide black theme and not the Telstra blue one, I changed it latter.
I even tried to instal the HSPL two or three times but it always gave me error messages and never showed the progress bar.
This is too strange for me.
Now I am very afraid if I really have the HSPL installed or a bugged or corrupt HSPL on it because of my failed tentatives.
what you guys suggest me to do to be 100% sure I have HSPL on it before installing cooked ROMs?
Thank
Felipe
i also bought a telstra version t9193 too. The seller ask me for permission to install the Official Rom for me. They state that i will have connection problem if i choose to stay with telstra's rom. So let them install HSPL and Official Rom since i don't want to deal with the connection problem when i have the device. I believe your seller install the HSPL and Official rom for you because they know u will have the connection problem.

Hello man, I'm brazilian to, so if you want send me a PM I will explain things better in portuguese
Think in SPL/HSPL/SSPL like a BIOS in a PC, it will help you to understand some things. The SPL/HSPL/SSPL are the first softwares that the phone loads.. Read more here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=SPL Questions?
If you phone shows HSPL on the bootloader and it boots, probably your HSPL is not damaged.
Stock phones does not comes with HSPL (that is secure unlocked), it comes with SPL. Probably the seller flashed HSPL on your phone.
So, it is simple to know if you have HSPL or not:
Reset your device - press volume down - Read the screen and if it has HSPL or anything similar, you has it!
Another way is more objective:
Download a custom ROM, then try to flash it via MicroSD method. If it flashes, you have HSPL, if not (security error), you don't have it
Does not metter what version of HSPL you have on your device, it will falsh any custom ROMS. **be carefull** ..................READ READ READ.......................
I sugest Sternas ROMS (ARTEMIS).. It has PT and is very stable.. Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612580
I hope it helps!
Have a nice flashing
Digao100nocao,
I tried to upload Artemis with the MicroSD but nothing happens, not even an error message.
I changed the name and formated the MScard and copied it to the card but as soon as I get into the bootloader nothing else hapens. When I restart the old ROM is still in effect.
I can only upload it with the CustomRUU, but doing so does not overwrite the HSPL.
As more as I try more it is confusing and weird.
To make things even more scary this morning my earpiece stop working, now I can't hear anything thru it, I hope this is some software problem and I can get it to work.
What I want to do now is just uninstall the current HSPL as I do not trust on it anymore and reinstall a fresh new one. Problem is that I can't find an old version 1.42 to install it thru the MicroSD, only .exe files.

MY HD2 IS STUCK ON SPL 2.08.000 It was 2.10.00 WHEN I BOUGHT IT

Please Help me i installed hspl and than uninstalled it and ow the spl is 2.08.000 and when i bought the hd2 it was 2.10 HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey i think that the new hspl reverts to 208 because 2.10 won't work it downgrades your spl i would search the thread on how to revert to stock
download and install T-Mobile 2.13 Rom.
i also tried that, but it still says 2.08
saying "i have 2.08" is like saying "i have a ford"..... a ford what?
what does it actually say? 2.08.0000 or 2.08.hspl ?
i suspect it says .hspl, because that would prevent the 2.13 rom from upgrading the spl to 2.10.0000, which many people will tell you works when your spl is 2.08.0000
yea i also want to upgrade back to hspl 2.10, and i did the tmobile update it still says hspl 2.08.000
You can get back to spl2.10 by flashing stock T-mobile 2.13 via SD card. Plenty of info of how to flash rom with SD card. I hope it can help.
what do you do if your phone doesn't allow dls
My phone doesn't allow downloading from the sd. It posts Improper certification or parts missing. Obtain proper certificate of reload item. It has been doing this since it blew away my downloaded built of android when I touch the windows start button next to the home button below the screen. I have searched for an answer, but can't find one. I even flashed hspl3, and I still can't flash android?

My SPL is messed! Please help!

I wanted to upgrade from Artemis rom v15 to v22 so I did. Suddenly I have issues with freezing and hard resets. I find out that I need HSPL 1.66.
So I tried installing HSPL2 and it gives me an error, something about invalid id.
I try HSPL and it did something because now I have SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE showing up in bootloader.
But I'm told it's not what I need and 1.66 is what I need. I can't seem to uninstall HSPL firstly and I also don't know any other way to get to 1.66!
I've even tried SSPL and it doesn't work
dont worry about it. its fine as it now is with 2.08.hspl
hspl2 wont work on telstra. Use hspl3 (which i assume you did to get 2.08.hspl) and you can now stop worrying. All roms will work fine on 2.08.hspl, the recommendation to match the spl to the rom doesn't really matter.

thanks for the reply and the info. I ended up getting the stock Telstra rom back on via straight SD flash and decided to try SSPL and it flashed ok so far.
After I flashed 2.08 Artemis said "I think you have problem Sir
My suggestion is, first to solve HSPL problem (post to HSPL thread)
or use SSPL (remove HSPL first)...". So I guess that's what I did.
Right now I seem to have 1.42.6666 showing up. Do you know how I can get to 1.66?

If your spl in bootloader ends...
.0000 = stock
.hspl = hspl installed
.6666 = rom was flashed using sspl. This is not permanent, single flash only, you need to use SSPL each time you flash
You can't flash radios with SSPL, so you may have trouble with cooked roms that require a particular radio. (Roms with the 576 RAM unlocked, for example, require you change your radio, which is almost certainly why artemis rom failed)
you cant get to 1.66.hspl directly with a telstra,
(well, you can, using the ''HSPL2 on telstra'' workaround,, , its posted in the rom dev section)
however I can promise you you will be just as well using hspl3, and installing 2.08.hspl

Help me please ASAP Bricked and tried everything! - RSA Failed

Hi all,
i just get an HD2 from someone to put android on it.
So it was locked from vodafone.
So i tried to downgraded it.
It sucesffully downgraded and when i rebooted it was stuck at the white HTC Screen, no red letters..
So i getted into the tri colour bootloader and i got spl 1.66. so i id HSPL and i now got 1.66 HSPl, tried 2.08 HSPL too..
So now i want to get to the stock 1.48 HTC ROM to get the radio etc.. BUT now it is stuck at 9% and the RUU says that it cant complete the command.. now when i want to flash a new RADIO its stuck at 100% and shows a white triangle next to the 100%..
Now when i want to flash a stock ROM thrue the SD card, it will start but at the Radio_V2 thingy, it says: RSA Failed. Update failed terminated.
So now shortly: i cannot flash a stock rom thrue SD because it gives and RSA error at radio_v2..
I can flash a custom rom but it wont boot (stuck at white screen and no redletters)
Task 29 didnt helped..
stock rom thrue RUU gives an command error..
So am i now bricked for ever??? :S
so i cant flash a new radio.. i did many many researches but couldnt find any usefull information.
I beg you PLEASE PLEASE someone help me!!
THANKS!!

Ok if you live in Holland than you should be trying to flash this ROM Netherlands 1.48.404.2 correct? Also are you positive that HSPL 1.66 is a low enough HSPL to allow the flashing of the ROM. i am currently lookingcto se if I can find the SPLITS that comes with thst ,ROM.
Edit: It looks like the original SPLITS was 1.42 not 1.66.
i already tried to flash that.. also the NLD vodafone ROM but both failed at 9% with white triangle and thrue SD its RSA Failed.. so stock rom flash wont work.. and custom rom will get finished but booting failed because of no radio i think.. so i need to flash radio but i CANT man

Ok I edited my last post with this but I will repeat it. I think you need to change your HSPL to 1.42 as this appears to be the original SPL. If the ROM requires that SPL version it will not let the ROM flash. It might also be SPL 1.62. These are the only SPL's below your current 1.66 HSPL. It should not matter if it is HSPL or SPL as long as the numbers are right.

It should tell you the radio version in the name of the RUU file. Like this "RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_3.14.531.1_Radio_Signed_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_2_Ship. In what used to be the tmous thread is/ was a "possible solution to unbrick " something sticky thread, which uses a test rom.not sure its relevant but worth having a read.
Also I've seen threads where a sequence of certain test roms broke a lock, but that may have been spl related, and possibly tmous specific.
Good luck. Maybe start hunting for a local phone repair shop with jtag equipment.

Has either one of you tried using the .nbh file of the radio you want to flash to run a task 29? This will flash the radio and run a task 29 at the same time. I suggest this cause both of you say you can succesfully run a task 29.
