Here is the modem from EF02. Extract from zip and flash with odin. I am using it on Froyo. Use either odin version.
This allows you to do a firmware upgrade to EF10 also......again, I am using it on Froyo
Edit: I have added a zip file containing the exact files that I am successfully using to flash. Download the zip, extract the files, put the pit in the pit, the modem in the pda and flash.

Has this worked for anyone yet?
I just used it(I have flashed a few times to make sure it works) . It works. Im using the old odin.
Playing with both modems now. EF02 was eh ok in my area. 4g was 5.5d 1.6 u. GPS locked faster than i've ever seen. Just pushed to EF10 and rejected it's love of looking for random updates.
Flashed back to EF02 over a thought that they're sacrificing GPS for speed or can't figure out how or why to release them in a modem together. I believe the EF02 amazing modem might be true.
Final verdict: EF02 is the ****. Instant GPS lock and 6-7mbs d/1.6 mbs u on 4g avg. I don't know what went wrong in EF10
Btw, no one got me a pit in time and now I've learned my phone clearly doesn't care.

Please help. Did I just brick my phone? Here's what I did.
Saved and extracted the pit and the modem to the desktop
Booted phone to Download mode
Opened Odin and selected the PIT in the PIT area and the Modem in the Phone slot.
Click Start.
Odin went through ok.
Phone rebooted. But never came back on.
Only at that time did I realize that the Re-Partition box was also checked.
I know... 2 mistakes. Phone slot instead of PDA and Re-Partition was checked.
Is there anything I can do? I've tried booting normally. Booting to download mode. Booting to CWM. First night of rooting and it was going so well until I started to try different modems.

Sorry. Found out a way to fix.
(Take battery out. Hold 1 + Power. Put battery back in).
Was able to reload everything back to stock.
Thought the phone was a goner. Had no signs of life at all.

If you are one of the unfortunate few who have the three button fix disabled and need to go back to stock 2.1 use this instead of Designgears original Odin one click.
Put the PDA.tar and PIT files in the appropriate places in odin and flash in download mode.

Anyone with the three button disabled, please confirm that this is working for you as well.
I tested this on my phone with the 3button disabled, and the 3 button was working after the flash back to 2.1
Is the JF6 firmware with this the same as that on samfirmware.com? And why is this version superior to the one click version? If the three button method to get into download mode is disabled, one has to try one of the other methods to get there (adb reboot download, volume buttons + usb plugin, phone + ! + computer to download mode, etc.). Once in download mode somehow, how does a flash from this version help more? Not doubting, just need clarifications.
This is the JF6 firmware from samfirmware.com.
This version is not superior to the one click if the three button combo came enabled with your phone.
This is for people whose phones didn't come with the three button combo. If you flash this from download mode, the three button combo should work for you.
Here is the problem. DG has put out a fix for the three button combo. If you have a problem updating a rom, or you need to flash back to stock for some reason, the Odin one click will disable the fix. This will work the same as the Odin one click, but it keeps the three button intact (it should). It should also enable the three button fix if yours has never worked.
If you flash with the one click Odin and then brick your phone trying to flash rom manager recovery, or trying to flash another rom, that's it, your phone is bricked. If you have three button working and brick your phone, you can still use the keys to flash back to a working rom. This should help keep the three button intact at all times.
If your three button isn't working, you shouldn't be flashing roms, or anything really. If you're going to, you need to get the three button working(IMO).
My three button combo worked from day one, and flashing the one click did not affect it adversely. If dg has put out a fix for those with bad phones. Wouldn't it be adequate to simply apply just the fix?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
No.
DG's fix is wiped when using his Odin one click. That's why this Odin flash was needed.
If yours worked from day one, this isn't for you.
Good work C3P0LOL! I'm glad someone was able to put my idea into action, finally. This will definitely put me more at ease flashing back to stock, not having to worry about it failing. Also I don't know if you did it on purpose or if it was just luck but the fact that it flashes the SBL first is a nice touch.
I'm glad you like it! This should help those of us without the three button rest a little easier. The sbl.bin flashing first is clutch!

+1 for this.
As mentioned earlier, you either have some cool telepathic abilities or simply just a genius for having thought of this. I remember going into DG's thread about this as well, and I remember you being actively helping out over there, how did you stumble upon this? I have the JF6 one click Odin, but i was not aware that by using the one click, it would delete sbl.bin. It makes sense, because on his OP it even states that the process may have to be repeated everytime a new Rom is flashed (unless of course the Rom being flashed already contains the enabled sbl). <----That is for those who NEVER had the 3-button function out of the box.
"...you cant lose it if you already have it...."
EDIT: Newb Question: Isn't there a version of the one click Odin somewhere in XDA that already has this included as part of the flash? Or did i have too much to drink already? lol
EDIT 2: please disregard my last Edit. SMH
This was a concern to some of us without the three button combo in the irc chat. I'm glad I was able to build a working version of this for us. Enjoy it guys!

Download the odin file, the pit file and the pda file.
Open odin.
connect phone to usb and put it in download mode.
Put the pit file where it says pit in odin.
put the pda file where it says pda in odin.
click start and wait for it to finish.
This will set your phone back to 2.1 stock with three button enabled.

Hey C3....
Newb Q: The original files that are found in the PDA, or any other Odin (including one click) for stock JF6....are they straight from Samsung or is it a modified version of the stock JF6?
The reason i ask, is because i have 2 cappys, one Bone stock and the other has been modded + rooted + lag fixxed + flashed and then back to stock and comparing the 2 (stock-wise) the modded cappy seems to have even more lag. <--------true story. lol
They are straight from Samsung, they might be leaked, but they come from Samsung. These stock kernels and files are pure 100% stock, except this one has the modified sbl.bin in it.
Yup, what he said. THe sbl.bin is even stock, it's just from a stock phone that works.

Sweet! Thanks Dem.
For the record, i flashed this with Odin and I now have 3-button recovery/ download that did NOT come with my Cappy (out of the Box) AND my Batch Number is 1008.
I'm glad this was able to help!
So i upgraded my phone with the leaked froyo update.zip and everything went well except for the gps. So i followed the how to "unbrick/bring back to stock" thread so i could downgrade my phone to the di18 firmware. I used odin, the s1_odin20100512.pit and the d700.zimage.stock file. I did not want to wipe out everything, i just wanted to downgrade the kernal back to stock.
When i tried flashing on odin, it failed. now when i try turning on my i get the phone icon with the exclamation mark in the triangle. I wanted to call my girlfriend after flashing my phone but now i cant . Please help me save my phone!
EDIT: Okay not bricked, but it wont load up android

Thanks for the tip!
Your gonna want to flash the di18.tar in "pda" with odin and only reboot checked, no pit needed. That gets the di18 firmware back, and the only way.. kernel has nothing to do with it..

I am about to do this too.. and dont want to wipe the data only get back to di18 to get the gps working.. so in that case:
1. I dont need pit file at all
2. which .tar to choose? not the255 mb file?
Mine failed the first time to. I followed the directions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773032
I tried it a second time but used the victory pit that came with odin 1.61 and it worked. I think in the instructions their using an older version of odin.
I'm not in anyway an expert and you may not even need to use a pit like another poster said. It worked for me though. When I got done the phone rebooted and it showed it having the eclair d07 build from there it updated itself to dI18.
I believe you still need the pit file. If you are going back to stock DI18, than use this:
Stock Files
The one you were trying to use was the kernel I believe.
Here is the pit file you need:
pit file
I have flashed back to stock about 14 times and I have used these two files successfully every time.
yeah ive done it te same wasy that swanysto has done it also a lot. it always works for me to. i know some sa you don't need the pit unless just doing a kernel but i always use it. just my 2 cents
pull the SD card out before you go into download mode (not just pull it out, make sure to push down and let it pop up to remove it).
I recently instaled 2.2 on my epic and I heard what sprint said today about it and its not the official froyo build. I used odin. Is there any way to get the epic back to 2.1? I want to be able to receive the update via ota

Easy method i use and worked and removed root/clockwork... with out odin..
For you those going back to stock or are stock and u flashed 2.2 and want to downgrade or resort back to stock use this method.
Rooted/clockwork users skip the first step...
1. Do the one click root/clockwork/etc Here
2. Flash the d118 modem Here
3. Then Flash the zip file Here
4. Then flash the get rid of clockwork zip Here
5. Your are back to stock without using odin yay!!!
Now all links work!!! and added a step use this method to return to stock with out odin.

Dont use the pit file. You don't need it for flashing tar files. Just put the tar file in PDA and make sure only reboot is checked and hit start.

Have you tried the three different versions of odin out there? 1.0 1.3 and 1.6 somethin? 1.6 has the highest success rate for me. Also you don't need the pit but it shouldn't affect it's ability to complete if you do use it. Also if you're trying to odin back to di18 don't use the di18 extended, it's very finnicky. Just try the pure stock di18 files from noobnl's post in dev section.
When I use ODIN with my phone I need to make sure the PDA file doesn't have the MD5 tag at the end of the zip file. So naturally when I went to flash my gf's Samsung Mesmerize I took the tag off her tar file also. Made Odin crash repeatedly across different versions. When I finally realized I needed MD5 at the end of the file ODIN flashed the phone on the first try.
Lesson of the story is that ODIN is finnicky. Try different things like: Different USB ports, restarting computer before using it, and playing with different PIT files (don't quote me on the PIT thing, I've used different ones with no ill effects). Try changing the zip file to just .zip or .zip.md5 just to make sure it isn't something simple like that.

Pit is specific to build. It tells the phone where to flash what... Following this advice *could* have very detrimental effects .....

If you are using the full system tar, you do not need the pit. The pit is used for flashing kernels and modems.
Since you can still get into download mode, I'd just use the samsung flash tool. Worked great for me, and I came from a rooted DK28 build. It takes care of everything for you, completely wipes the phone, no need to mess around with Odin. I know Odin can be temperamental at times.

I can still do this even tho the phone doesn't boot up right? I get that phone and monitor picture. But i can get to download.
