The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Coming to AT&T...Maybe? - Xperia Arc General

Is The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Coming to AT&T?
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has recently passed FCC with AT&T bands but, as far as FCC filings are concerned, this doesn't always necessarily mean that one particular smartphone that has been cleared will actually get to that specific operator.
According to a User Agent Profil (UAProf) listing, there's a certain LT15at model from manufacturer Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications. The original Xperia Arc is just LT15a so the addition of "at" at the end of the LT15 codename could indicate an AT&T destination. The bands are definitely there according to FCC.
The smartphone sports a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 4.2-inch 480x854 FWVGA display and a superb eight-megapixel camera with LED flash with the mobile Exmor R backlit image sensor that enables for great image quality capturing.

Initially the arc was bounded for AT&T, however, last I heard was that all LT15a's production was halted and shifted to LT15i due to the tsunami that hit Japan, destroying the main manufacturing facility. The only batch of LT15a made went to Rogers, so I don't know if they'll continue to get the stocks since there's more LT15i demand. All I know is it's very unlikely that it will be released anytime soon. More like Late Q3 or Q4, but by that time....there's going to be something else...

ATTN: Any Japanese Streak owners:

As those of you in Japan may or may not know, Docomo is planning on allowing foreign phones on their network in the coming months. The only stipulation is that the phone must be certified for use in Japan, and that it must be able to show that certification on the phone.
Since the Streak DOES have certification in Japan (under Softbank's network), it should be okay to use it on Docomo's network. But I suspect they're going to be technical about it and require it show its certification. So what I would like to ask of any Softbank Streak users, is to take a very high quality picture of the certification tag that is likely on the back of the Streak somewhere. It should look something like the attached image.
My plan is to make a simple app that displays it to hopefully convince the Docomo reps that it legitimately has certification.
Currently the Streak in Japan is going for over twice as much as the US counterpart, both subsidized and unsubsidized. Lets show them that they can't just block out global competition!

Xperia Neo approved with AT&T 3G

According to this article, the Neo has passed the FCC now. It also says that AT&T will pick this phone up. That doesn't really follow that they will carry both the Arc and the Neo, so it's gotta be one or the other. Anybody have any insider information?

It took AT&T to adopt X10 after more than half a year and probably we will see ARC or NEO with att by Oct.
ATT doesn't respond
Rogers doesn't respond
SE US or Canada don't respond either.
Good that we are in age of communication. Thats shame/
It may be that they both, arc and Neo, will be sold through SonyStyle unlocked just like the X10 mini, mini pro and X8. But, since Rogers runs the same bands as AT&T, it may not be clear cut as to which carrier will carry it and which one will not.

Should folk wish to purchase the new flagship smartphone without heading down to their local carrier store, Sony stores will also be stocking the same device for purchase on launch day.
No word on how much it will cost just yet, but you can expect to see the device appropriately priced. Purchasers will have the choice of white, black or copper variants.

I would be very surprised if any manufacturer introduced dual SIM model in North America officially. Financially it does not make a sense in USA because technological incompatibility between most providers there. Telcos in Canada behave very "monopolistic" and are way too powerful here. Not like Europe, there is a much more competition going on there and customer wins.
Just get a dual SIM from 3rd party re-seller. I bought one of eBay and I am satisfied. Sony appears to be the only OEM that actually makes high-end phones that operates on all frequencies used in Canada.

Nope, most likely not. Looking at XperiFirm, there is no Customized US firmware in the list.
I gotten my D6633 from eBay too. and currently use it with Fido and AT&T with the two SIMs and only switching between one at a time.
