According to this article, the Neo has passed the FCC now. It also says that AT&T will pick this phone up. That doesn't really follow that they will carry both the Arc and the Neo, so it's gotta be one or the other. Anybody have any insider information?

It took AT&T to adopt X10 after more than half a year and probably we will see ARC or NEO with att by Oct.
ATT doesn't respond
Rogers doesn't respond
SE US or Canada don't respond either.
Good that we are in age of communication. Thats shame/
It may be that they both, arc and Neo, will be sold through SonyStyle unlocked just like the X10 mini, mini pro and X8. But, since Rogers runs the same bands as AT&T, it may not be clear cut as to which carrier will carry it and which one will not.

Sorry if this has been asked a billion times before, but any updates on Xperia being carried by anyone in US (AT&T?)
I'm between a Fuze and Xperia, but the Xperia's hefty price tag is a deterrent. Trying to hold out for any news, but I have an 8525 and the upgrade bug is itchin'.
Nothing from AT&T but Rogers (Canadian carrier, uses same bands as AT&T) will be picking it up and offering it in the Summer it seems, along with a LOT of other really nice phones.
Heres the link: New Phones for Rogers

Seems like I'll be getting a Hero in October
does anyone know if the hero will be coming to AT&T??
I think it's ridiculous that AT&T hasn't picked up ANY android devices yet.

Well, didn't it go to the FCC with AT&T bands?
Nahh. I dont think it will be going to ATT!
Its pretty much comfirmed by now that it will be coming to Sprint. Sucks for me but guess ill be moving.
im gonna go sell my HTC Hero which arrives tomorrow and just wait for the us Version.
Yes, 850 & 1900 3G bands were passed for the HERO on the FCC side. How much you wanna bet it goes to Rogers before AT&T. I think that's why it was passed thru the FCC which is fine by me as that model will work fine thru AT&T 3G bands here in the USA.

have you checked the new rumors and sources...
There was a link on HTC website support page which stated
"HTC HERO (Sprint)"
dont believe me try this:

i take the FCC approval as better news that its coming to ATT than HTC website showin HTC Hero (Sprint)...that does not show enough evidence that it will release on sprint...typo or or whatever can happen...we just have to wait and see...waiting for more news on the sony xperia x3 snap dragon thats a beast of a android phone.

There is far more evidence to support a Sprint release than an ATT release. The FCC approval could easily be for an unlocked 3G version of the device, and have nothing to do with ATT. Everyone just assumed it was for ATT. Live in denial all you want, but it's looking more and more likely that the Hero is coming to Sprint. A typo as specific as that is just way to unlikely.

Or maybe, just maybe, it's coming to both. One interesting note is that the FCC document is called NM8_HOT. NM8 is used to identify HTC as it relates to the FCC. I was wondering if HOT might actually be H(er)OT where T is also AT&T's stock symbol. I dunno...
I don't like Sprint but I welcome any Android devices on more carriers. The more widespread it is, the more end users and developers we'll get.
the model that passed the FCC could merely be a version for Canada or Latin America. one of the Omnia's passed the FCC with AT&T's 3G bands, but it turned out that it was bound for Latin America, which I guess uses the same bands as AT&T does. I'd love to get this phone, but idk if I'm willing to pay the full unlocked price from Clove, especially taking into account all the issues I've read and heard about the lagging and such. if it had a better processor, then I'd consider buying an unlocked one, but since it doesn't, I think I'll be waiting for a better Android phone. possibly the Sony Ericsson one

While I'm eagerly waiting for the HTC Hero to come to Canada, is there any specific reason why the FCC has to file and go over phone destined for Canada or Latin America?
Just started looking around to buy an X10. Can't seem to find one that supports ATT's 850/1900 frequency. Do they even sell an X10 that supports that yet ?
Not at the moment. Probably soon. Rogers (Canadian carrier) will be selling its LOCKED x10a so if you want to get it, you'll need to get it unlocked. But it does have the correct frequency for AT&T.
Its coming, rumor has it possible as soon as the Rogers release mid month. Try this link for a little unlocked 850/1900 love ---> http://www.expansys-usa.com/d.aspx?i=190979
Ah ok, thanks guys.
Ya, the X10 will be available through Rogers directly (as well as through Canadian Best Buy stores) on April 15th. Should be $549.99 CDN. It should work on AT&T once unlocked.
There's a thread over on HoFo where U.S. customers are requesting X10's from Canadians:
Anyone In Canada could buy a x10 for me ?
We cant just wander over the border and pick one up?

Of course you can. Not convenient for many is all.
In theory the Canadian BB unlocked phone should be the same thing as the American version, be curious to see where it gets priced. Wondering if we will get it in BBs south of the border as I type this.... I would love to put my grubs on this before making a decision.
SE messed up and left out the aws band for the Xperia pro and i believe some of the other models of their new lineup. I'm posting here because there is no seperate forum for xperia pro but the question pertains to any of the xperia's.
Does anyone know if there is any way to manually install AWS 1700/2100. For example can you take another Tmobile usa phone like the G1 or something and take it apart and find a chip or part and than try to hook it up to the Xperia Pro. I am so desperate. These phone manufactures leave us no choice. lets face it, Tmobile or the usa carriers for that matter will never get a front facing camera with a physical qwerty phone running android on a world class processor supporting new technologies. That would be too much to ask and everyone would buy it and their network would be bogged down and they wouldnt be ready for this kinda of business. Do they even want to make money? or are they just trying to control us. who doesnt want a physical qwerty? Anyways please help out. AWS band 1700/2100. suggestions...
Well, move to Europe for instance might help I don't get why USA have different band than the rest of the civilised world? I was in the USA in autumn and that was the only downside of the great holiday....

very good point. i have acutally thought about doing this.
You'll enjoy Europe In the US only AT&T has a 'normal' band, and the market for operators on 1700 etc is just too small for Sony Ericsson to create a new phone with another chipset... Even Apple waited years before they released a CDMA iPhone...
there's already a thread on this... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945017
The phones not even been released yet and we're getting duplicate threads.
Hey whats up guys,
Im looking at getting a z1 and found a good deal on a Z1s. However, being exclusive to T-mobile, it won't be as common as the Z1. So I'm afraid that ROM variety won't be as great as the normal Z1 or anyone knows if the Z1 ROMs are compatible with the Z1s?
What do you guys think?
Nope, they're not, simply, different models.
Try to get the z1 and not the z1s,the updates on the z1 are more faster than the z1s,that phone have some disvantage.
Good luck.

Z1s has a locked BL too so I don't think it even has root at this point.
If I remember correctly you would not get LTE service on Tmobile with the Z1.

There are several variants, and there is an international Z1 variant that was LTE that works with T-Mobile, I think it's the C6903.
The main issue with buying an international version I think is the lack of warranty in the U.S. since it's not sold directly by Sony in the states. The only way to get a warranty on the "Z1" is to buy the Z1S from T-Mobile The regular unlocked Xperia Z is sold in the U.S. by Sony however and has a warranty if you want to go that route... but you'd get the Qualcomm S4 instead of the 800.
EDIT - Here is the international version that works with T-Mo in the U.S., but as I said, no warranty.

I don't think so. The Z1 is sold on sony's online store. I think you can get the 6902 and 6906 from Sony.com. The 6903/6906 will get LTE on tmo
Locked or not it's still a damn good phone.
