Dear xda-users.
Sadly I have lost my HD2 after a having it for a week. I have tried to locate it via Microsoft My Phone but it failed me.
My network operator has blocked the sim-card and the phone's IMEI number.
Does anyone know if it is possible to track it down even when the phone has ran out of power and does?
Anybody know any company who is able to track devices?
I hope you can help me.
Regards
Razir.
Well if the SIM card is blocked, there is no way how the device would let you know. It could use wifi, but even if wifi was on, HD2 wont connect unknown networks until told so.

No power, no way.
if its out of power u wont track it... ull have to wait till someone finds it... recharges it and connects to network.. thats only way how to track it (it broadcasts its imei over network).. even if they hard reset it which would kill myphone tracking
dont know about any companies but in slovakia it is prohobited by law to track down cell phones... before ppl were able to do that by calling police but not anymore

If you asked the network to block the IMEI you're pretty much screwed. If it wasn't blocked, someone could take the phone, change SIM, and hopefully turn it on without hard resetting, which you'd be able to see on myphone. But as the IMEI is blocked, even if he did that, the network wouldn't let it connect, so it wouldn't be able to tell it's position.
Except if the guy connects to a wifi. But he'd certainly think about hard resetting before that.
Thank you guys. Your answers have been useful.
As it might be a little late for you now I ran across this program called Ultimate Theft Alert. If you would have had this application installed you might have been able to locate your phone. Or at least tell you who has it.
http://www.wm6software.net/utilities/_ultimate_theft_alert_v35_.html
I'd like to blatantly push a free and VERY full featured program here called remote tracker. Lets you do all the phone tracking stuff, send it a text and it sends you back a link to google maps with lcation, location based on gps and/or cell towers, it can record a 5 minute gps track and send it to you, it has sim swap alert, wipe your simcard, wipe sd card, run scripts remotely, lock up your phone, throw up messages on screen, have the phone call you back, it is soft reset friendly (hard reset proof if you cook it in yourself),,,
http://remotetracker.sourceforge.net/
oh, and no i'm not the author, and nor do i get a kickback
oh, and it can respond by text, email or ftp (or all the above)
edit - sorry to the OP :-(
Hi guys,
I also lost my HTC HD2 but didn't speak to my network yet, so do I have any chance to find it?? any idea how?
Thanks

Hey I am in a similar situation. Can youplease confirm. If I DO Unblock the IMEI from my carrier, will the myphone service be able to locate the HD2 even if it does now have a new SIM card in it?
I lost the phone O/S and would do anything to get it back - I have it registered to the microsoft myphone service. Now that I am back home, I got a new sim card with the same number. Will the myphone service search via IMEI or does it need my active sim card in it?
Thanks
Myphone ONLY uses the sync relationship with the phone. The position is updated when the phone is synced. So the position you see is the one of the last sync, and if the new "owner" is clever enough to hard reset your phone, you'll never get position updates again.
Last night I tried to send an SMS, but it wouldn't go, so tried to make a call and it just wouldn't!
So I tried to call me number only to get the message "Calls are not currently being connected to this number". If I turn my off and try to call it it goes to voice mail etc.
I have tried a factory reset, but its still not working. it thinks it has a network, and my internet works on the phone. also, the SIM works fine in another phone...
anyone got any suggestions, I'm going away over Christmas and really need my phone to be working.
If the network is refusing to connect to that particular handset it suggests something a little more sinister.
Just to confirm, SIM in DHD does not work, no sms, no calls. SIM in another handset works fine.
If this is the case, then your DHD may have been IMEI network blocked, i.e. reported lost or stolen. Did you buy the DHD from new?
For a small fee you can check to see if your DHD has been reported lost or stolen > CheckMEND
That's right, SIM doesn't work in DHD for SMS's and Calls, but does in my other phone, but HSDPA does work.
the phone came directly from T-Mobile, I called them but they we're very unhelpful, didn't ask anything or check any thing, just suggested sending it away for repair!
I'd get it replaced. Sounds very odd. Have you tried another SIM card in it? Its probably SIM locked, so you'd need to sort that out before you can try.
Just to fill you all in, I eventually got this sorted! only took three weeks!!!!!
What happened was, the phone T-Mobile sent me doesn't match the box and paperwork it came with, the IMEI and Serial numbers are different.
It now transpires that the idiot who has the matching phone/paperwork/box etc. lost their phone and reported it stolen, so when he gave them the phone details, he (or she) gave them "my" details resulting in my phone being blacklisted!!!!
So they have now un-blacklisted my phone and updated the details on my account. still no explanation as to how it happened, but at least my phone is working again.
I was wondering if anyone can help me.
I recently flashed my phone which I have done many times. I then installed beautiful widgets from a apk off the net. Once I had decided I likes the software I deinstalled it and ever since I have been unable to get network service on my wildfire.
Whenever I try and connect to a network I get:
'Unable to connect to this network at this time please try later'
I am currently on baseband version 13.53.55.24H_3.35.149.25 but I have also flashed later radios and still have the problem.
I have also checked the phone information settings and radio is turned on so unsure where to go from here.
The phone is also unlocked to any network but I have tried a Orange, Virgin and Vodaphone chip and none work.
Cheers for any help ;-)
i was in touch with beautiful widgets developer a few weeks ago, and he mentioned there were 13 different pirated versions that they were aware of, and they were having troubles with them. the first thing he wanted was my google checkout receipt number, i wonder if you have picked up a virus somehow, with a malicious copy.
have you tried restoring a nandroid backup?
Hi
Yes I ran a nandroid restore and I still have the problem. I have also been into the phone's testing menu, phone information and it wont let me select radio band just comes back Set{Automatic] Unsuccessful ;-(
Tried numerous Roms and still the issue.
Will I have to totally flatten phone to get this working?
cheers
Have you checked your apn settings?
I have checked the APN section and I have one for orange internet and one for Orange MMS. I have looked through these settings and everything is blank except when I get to the MCC section.
One thing I have noticed is when In restore or use a new ROM I still have my details for Wireless setup etc so is it really doing a full wipe of settings?
Cheers guys
I have just spoken to Orange and they have informed me that the phone has been blacklisted hence no service. I have had this phone for over 6 months and now they decide to blacklist it even though I paid good money for it and it wasnt stolen...Nice!!!!!
Thanks for your help anyway guys much appreciated
why has it been blacklisted, and how?
The phone has been blacklisted by Virgin as stolen just recently even though I bought the phone over 5 months ago with original Virgin Chip, booklets etc. I have spoke to Orange (my own network) as the original owner is obviously trying to maker a claim which is indeed false.
I am in process of writing a letter to virgin explaining my predicament but I dont expect anything positive of the outcome. Last time I buy anything of a Forum all my own mistake to be fair!!!
Bought a Samsung I5800 just get me back up and running as the wildfire is now just sat at home awaiting to hear what Virgin say as I may sell it as parts.
cheers guys ;-)
I bought a used phone from internet website, its worked great and it was locked on T-mobile UK. I got it unlocked from fastgsm and used my tesco sim with the phone.
The phone worked great for couple of days and on the third day it worked upto 11am (that is when i made the last call on the phone) and after that i am getting 00:00 Ended every time i press call even to voice mail.
it does not call anyone no texts either and when someone calls me it says the phone is switched off.
Steps i have taken to fix the issue:
I have swapped different sim cards.
i reset my phone through settings and diagnosis code.
I have updated the firmware to the 7740
I have installed a new unbranded UK retail firmware. its still running this firmware.
I have checked if the imei is blocked or stolen or something on a few websites nothing came up.
I have searched XDA to see if someone else has this problem and there are quite a few people here with the same problem but no solution.
I need help i have no idea what to do next
everything else on the phone works great no problems wlan connection keeps it connected and all the other features are fine its just the phone calls and text msgs which i cannot send or receive.
i have tested my sim on other phone it seems to be fine.
Please help i am not sure what to do next.
thank you and regards
Call Samsung support.
I've got a very similar problem - I can access the internet with my SIM but I can't make a call or send a text.
Omnia 7 - originally on orange but unlocked.
Any help appreciated.
ok then xda cant help me with this problem lets see if samsung support can do something about it. i have called them and i am taking the phone to their service center.
wish me luck i will report back if there is any news for other people with similar problem.
I have the same problem. Ive done almost all the steps as you have. Im beginning to think that its a hardware related problem. Maybe the sim-reader.. Well, i bought another phone but I hope to fix it anyway. I'll be back to check your progress in the matter.. gl
I can also contribute that I did the unlock via fastgsm.. (without any errors) And that may be the cause. But 1 thing is different though, I could never make any calls at all. You said that u were making calls.. I had a very long email conversation with fastgsm that ended with him not responding to me at all. But that was some time ago and I deleted the emails.. Not that I think it would help. Now I use the phone as a surfing pad (wifi/data ok) its sad really... lol
That's a terrible problem, I feel for you guys.
Definitely get it contact with your provider or SAMSUNG to get a replacement.
I can't think of any settings which you could change other than the obvious ones.
Hi All
I'm at my wits end with this Samsung S8 phone, Bought a 2nd hand S8, was working fine, but I noticed the internal storage was only showing 9.63GB
Had a look on here and the solution was to stock flash the phone. I did that, all fine, storage was back to normal....BUT since then I can't make or receive any calls.
I get the error "phone not allowed" and it won't connect to ANY mobile network.
I've tried loads of different suggestions
Sim is OK in another phone
Re Flashed (numerous times)
Andriod 7 and 8
Sim and Phone OK with three network
But still have the issue....
Can anyone help me? or push me in the right direction?
Cheers
Tommy
You probably tried this, but try booting into safe mode. If it works then there is a software problem. If the problems persist in safe mode you probably gotta contact Samsung.
Are you sure the phone is unlocked?
Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Is the phone blacklisted? if it is blacklisted then it will not connect to service. Your SIM wil work perfect in any other phone.
Hate to say this but it does sound like your phone has been blacklisted.
You can check with one of the online IMEI blacklists.
If your phone shows Phone not allowed and a code like MM#6, it usually is an indication that it was blacklisted.
Check your phone's IMEI on a blacklist checker like http://imeipro.info/
The previous user most likely had the firmware and baseband messed around with and once you flashed stock it reverted to true state, it's highly advised to get back in contact with the person, where was the phone bought? A shop? Online?

Yeah tried that , still the same
If one is in possesion of a S8 that says "Phone not allowed", and the phone is blacklisted, is there any way of fixing that?
I have the same issue here..
I bought an S8 from Manchester last summer, and I started using it last week, (because my other phone worked longer than expected) and after I gave the phone the Network key that the previous user wrote down for me, then that message appeared.
So im stuck with this almost completely new brick aswell...
Any options at all?

The only real solution here is to either go abroad and sell the phone, or sell it to someone who is going abroad. The phone will work outside of the UK.
It does sound as your phones imei Nr is blocked in UK.. Probably the person who sold you the phone, stole it somewhere.
I have the same problem on my Samsung S7 now in Brazil.
In Canada, on Canadian carriers, everything is fine, and if I put the Canadian SIM in there everything is fine. But the minute I plug in Brazilian SIM card, boom, Phone Not Allowed message comes up and it won't connect to any of the Brazilian networks. Brand new SIM, works just fine on another LG phone (and any other phone I tried).
The phone is unlocked, I even checked with a few pieces of software and there is no network lock on it either.
I've got the master & network unlock codes from Samsung, but have no way of inputting them as no prompts for those come up when I insert the Brazilian SIM.
I checked the IMEI, it is definitely clean and not blacklisted.
Heck, I even rooted the phone to see if that would help, and still nothing.
Any idea what else to try or what else might be causing this goddamn message to pop up?!
I solved my S8.
Blacklisted on all uk networks except Three network.
Works perfect.
