LOADS OF THANKS TO HTC FOR THE LINK & andyharney FROM XDA FOR THE STEPS AFTER THE DOWNLOAD.
YOU WILL ALSO LOOSE ROOT.
Ad andyharney my saviour stated you need go go into bootloader by hitting power & volume down.

thanx for effort

Please use the thanks button ;-)

U still need to turn s-on the phone, right??

just simply do this and it is enough?

You need to access the bootloader for the PD98IMG.zip to flash. Power on holding Volume Down, everything else is spot on.
The PD98IMG.zip will restore everything back to HTC stock, everything except Radio S-OFF. But I wouldn't worry about that.

Can't find stock ROM for HTC Desire HD/India
Hi,
I have been going through lots of threads on here about other people also trying go get the official RUU for HTC Desire HD in India. Mine had CM7 on there since a long while, I recently moved to CodeFireX and it's near about rendered useless with FCs and random reboots. I wish to return to an HTC Stock Rom so the phone can be usable again.
However all the links to the RUU on all the threads related to the DHD/India have since expired. Anyone know where I can find the official ROM and how to go about unrooting the phone?

I am not sure whether this phone is faulty or not, the weather hardly ever updates, i will have a 3g conection and the moment i press weather update the 3g changes to H and then gives an updating error, the screen seems to be unresponsive at times...i want to return the phone to stock and see how it goes and then decide whether i am going to return it to shop or not as i would like to keep the phone but just want to be sure its not me thats caused the problems...i have the ROM for my mobile provider T-Mo in the UK but i dont have the radio for it so i am not sure which radio i should flash using task29 exe first...also i have HSPL1 on the phone so i would need to remove this also if i decide to return it..what steps should i take please ?..i really am hoping the phone behaves itself when its back to 100% stock then i am happy to keep it as i do generally like it.

If you have the stock ROM and reflash from SD card then all should be returned to stock.
Hi, sorry you're having problems. To be honest lots of people have trouble with the weather (at least it's not as bad as the weather in Bing). If you serch XDA you will find lots of info about problems and fixes the people have found for weather. One big thing is that some locations just cannot automatically update My Location for weather. For instance, when I'm in Gloucester "My Location" updates the weather all the time. When I'm in Cheltenham it fails everytime. I had to add Cheltenham as a city to get it to work.
Going back to stock ROM is a good idea to test the responsiveness. I'm on stock ROM so I don't have experience of this (I'd have hoped that a hard reset would reset everything inlcuding the radio but as I said, Ive never used a non-stock ROM on a "locked" phone). but a search of the forum might help. There is an official ROM thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577717.
Perhaps you could do a reset then update to the latest T-Mobile stock ROM that came out on the 15th? This will hopefully be better than the stock ROM you had. http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownloadList.aspx?p_id=297&act=sd&cat=2
Hope you get the help you need to mnake this phone work for you.
the support in this forum is second to none. I download the rom for my phone, i put it on the root of my sd card and renamed it to leoimg.nbh, powered phone on whilst holding vol down and screen came up saying loading but tben it just sits on the tri colour boot screen

Which rom did you download and install? Some roms are radio sensitive; if you don't install the right radio then the rom won't work.
WB
i downloaded a stock rom from tbe stock thread which is correct for my phone, i was told to put it on sd card and rename it and then power on whilst holding vol down, this is supposed to flash it with correct radio and rom for warranty purposes
soundslike you just renamed the .exe file and put that on your phone which would be the wrong way.
the exe is just a zip file really, so change the .exe to .zip and then it will open like any other zip (on your PC).inside you will see a few files, one especially called ruu_signed.nbh. extract that file, rename it leoimg.nbh, copy to sd card, now boot to boot loader and follow the prompts.

Not really related to development...
If you have radio s-off before you flash that, you cannot set it to s-on anymore. That is why people should use lower builds.

I have the following information in the bootloader for my DHD:
ACE PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.2007(PD9810000)
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.06.03.24_M2
eMMC-boot

Please advice on how should I revert the above changes before going back to stock. I guess I have to use the tool at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537 to revert a few things... but not sure in what order
Just use the instructions in the thread you linked
To go back to S-ON:
Flash stock ROM (RUU)
Temproot using Visionary
Use my tool, do Stock CID and S-ON (enter brand CID if you had a branded device, see second post)
Enjoy your factory-state phone
The RUU should be lower than 1.7, so do not download it from this thread.

I renamed the file to PD98IMG.zip but on booting the hboot said not valid file or wrong file any suggestions?
You got to rename it as PD98IMG.zip
Did you place it in the root of your memory card?
Disable Fastboot.
Turn Off the Phone & then Press Volume - Button & Power Button.
It should work.
When I called up tech support to ask them about this a few weeks ago, and told them the whole deal about unlocking bootloaders, they put me on hold for like 10 min, and finally confirmed that I can hand my device in with cyanogenmod with no effect on my warrenty.
ya in India, HTC does not care about what ROM you use. I called with some Problems am facing after the 2.3 update like poor battery life and all, they put me on hold for 15 minutes and told me to either flash a custom ROM or the stock 2.2 rom. When I asked about warranty after flashing a custom rom they said don't worry about that.
Is that in black & white? If not i would not go with their word.

Heated Death Loop :DHD dead Please help

Out of nowhere, my perfectly working unrooted desire hd heated up and thne went into a non stop restart loop. It wont even shut down. Just restart every time and get heating up.
I took the battery out, placed it back in and now it wont start. Tried the hardware factory reset. Factory reset happneed the phone started and again went into the restart loop heating up
NO power problems, no droppage no nothing.
What is this? please some one help.
Thats a new one.
Is the heat from the battery or the handset?
Do you have a branded handset or was it stock HTC?
HTC one. not branded.
Funny just been 3 months. The heat actually was from the set. Absolutely nothing wrong before it. I am not a fancy cell person, so no fancy things in it either.'
It gave me a force close on messages. Then it deleted my messages automatically, and then it went into this crazy restart loop getting heated up more and more..
the rest i already mentioned.
Is it DEAD?
I wouldn't say it was dead yet.
Do you know what your HTC Firmware was or your Android Version?
It was froyo. Did not do the gingerbread update yet.
Sense was 2.0
Ok,
Could you download the latest HTC firmware (Gingerbread) from HERE.
Once downloaded, remove the battery, reinsert. Plug into your computer, but don't turn the phone on. You should get the orange charging light. Now run the RUU.exe file and follow the prompts.
Ok. but what is your thought process on this?
also i had the winmo ruu. Can u give the link for ruu u mentioned in your reply?
EDIT: Got the ruu clear.
My thoughts is to upgrade your handset to the latest firmware. In the process of upgrading your handset will be completely wiped. And it should fix your problem.
If it still fails to work, there maybe a bigger underlying cause to your issue.

You said your phone is unrooted right? So, maybe installing the RUU will not succeded as ID wrong alarm will appear.
You need to root first which you need to turn ON your dead phone which i think impossible. Therefore the only solution is to return back to HTC for repairing. Unroot should still under warranty.
Doesn't the wrong id alarm appear only if you're trying to apply a wrong RUU? (For example T-Mobile RUU to an Orange phone)
What I would do if I had unrooted stock DHD without custom recovery that has problems is to send it for repair under warranty. If you didn't do anything that would void the warranty, don't do it now.

his name is yahya.hamid..i guest his from asia or arabic which i also guess his phone must be asia or arabic version..thats why i think he can not install wwe version without root..just my guess, which i'm maybe wrong
Well thANKS ALL for your concern.
Its the WWE version. Factory unlocked. not rooted. I dont have SPL or Hard SPL on it.
Its like brand new.
Yes i can goto the boot loader screen. If i switch the phone on after atleast 12 hours, it switches on...gets immediately into heating and restart loop. goes dead.
then it wont start again until 12 to 13 hours.
Not a battery issue since i replaced it.
Now shall i go for the ruu gingerbread or should i simply contact htc ( which btw is not in the country that i live and i will have to wait till i make the trip aBroad)
I'd flash the gingerbread RUU I posted first. It's the official HTC update so don't worry about voiding you warranty.
Like I mentioned previously, ensure your handset is completely off, plug into your computer, wait for the orange charging LED then run the RUU.
If your problem still persists then a HTC repair is your only remaining option.

@torsrex - That was my backup Plan B should the RUU not work.

[Q] HTC WildFire A3335 Qustion

I have a basic question,
I'm only asking because there's far too much
information available,
on here
and its not easy to find what best fits my
needs.
I have an unlocked A3335 wildfire ( Telstra NextG network 3g version), I'm using it on optus,
my boyfriend was useing it he dowloaded a
font change app for the phone,
but when he did it my phone went in to
bootloop mode.and keep't bootlooping again
and again
all i get is the start up screen,
with yes you guessed it
(Telstra NextG network 3g crap)
All I want to do is try and get my phone from
this bootloop mode and try and recover...
my phone back to how it was.
Its hard to explain,
ok when i go in to the boot screen
i have this on my phone
BUZZ PVT SHIP S- Off
HBOOT-1.01.0002
MICROP-0622
TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224_16ab
RADIO-3.35.20.10
DEC 27 2010,
17:49:10
and it reads the sd card,
it said the Boot Image. is missing
dont know why a app would take this out
but this is what happen
So Now when i did the fastboot on my phone
it done nothing,
then did the clear storge.
then i did the recovery
it rebooted to a black screen with A
triangle shape with one of these things
! in the middle of it,
but still stuck
I can follow the regular guides for rooting,
can any one help me to get my phone back to
how it was please
And I really don't care about this part much,
but would be nice to have it off the phone
and remove all the telstra junk and restore
the phone back to how HTC would ship it,
(all the junk apps they include could easily be optionally installed from marketplace if you want their crap...)
(obviously I'm in Australia also)
There are so many ROMS and options available,
including the ones from shipped roms
(it wont let me post the link because I'm new).
I just want my phone back to how i got it,
can any one help me please....
please send me a private messages,
with a step by step guide to do so thanks..
Since you are s-off u can use fastboot flash from windows to flash a clockwork mod recovery. After you do that, every thing will be simple. Just download a rom in zip format, put it to sd go to recovery( just do what you have done to see the triangle in blackscreen. Note that if u flash cwm you will no longer see that triangle). Then use your volume down button to reach install zip from SD card. Hit it with joystick press. Choose zip. Install it. Just do a data- factory resetting before you install zip.
I prefer cyanogen mod 7. U may use latest stable or nightly build. Feel free to post any doubt you have. We are happy to help you.

nope that gold card image will send to ur email..and u need to copy that gold card image to ur sd card...
Well if the hboot is 1.01.0002 with S-OFF then it must be done using xtc clip. So fastboot flashing shouldn't be working. And u don't need a gold card for S-OFF wildfire .
I would just suggest to flash a stock froyo WWE RUU which also removes the carrier bloatware. If ruu proccess gives errors u can copy the romzip from that ruu and use it with pc49img process from hboot menu. And ofcourse fat32 memory card is must for pc49img process

Hey can you explain what happened now? You said that yours is working now before 2 days. ( in second last post). So what happened now? What have you tried with your phone?
And...
So the gold card question, let me explain.
Gold card is just a patch tool, with the help of which you can unlock HTC boot loader , or in detail, you can unlock HTC 's boot loader protection(that's what we call as s-off) , which is commenly locked( that's we call as s-on) , for a user mode phone( a phone that is for sale to normal user), and it is done so because a normal user never need a root permission, over clocking etc. Also user defined kernal, rom, radio updates unless HTC provide them with updates.( and of cource to protect their device and its custom os made by HTC.
So being an s-off device, we can say in simple, unleash the potential of android.( that's what i said, make the device yours and not HTC 's).
And s-off. In can be done using many ways, find them in topic " complete wildfire index " , one of which is using goldcard method. It is also explained in topic/ stickies " downgrade hboot to xxxx". You can download an attached file called buzz downgrade from that topic, and its what you all need.
And about ruu flashing, i think its not a safe one for you, Coz your phone is a3335? Right? If so, original ruu flashing may cause problems with network( called as radio problems), so you can use custom/ safe ruu, instead. Which contains no radio image, check " complete wildfire index" else go for custom os like cm7.
But before all you should mention what you need.
1) r u trying to put custom os, or do you need original os?
2) do you want your phone to be a true android gadget, or just normal phone which is provided by HTC?
3) what kind of user r u? Normal user or a tech junky?
4) r u satisfied with android 2.2 or need 2.3?
Get us the answers, along with your current boot menu( where you find recovery option) details. So that we can help you properly.
That's all dude. Its 2.30 am here in India, so i should wish myself a good night, swtdrmz. Cu ltr.

Oops. Completely missed that point, sorry.
But since the phone is S-OFF one can just flash the system.img and boot.img alone from wwe ruu to remove the carrier bloat and to continue on the HTC stock rom (only if u wish to). Same pc49img process here but with only system.img and boot.img along with android-info.txt .

Have you installed clockwork mod recovery? If not do it first. Use fastboot flash from windows or linux, then download latest cyanogen mod nightly and put it in your sd. Then use install zip option from cwm recovery to install cm7. Done. Its what you want. No radio harm will be done unless you flash a radio using any methods.
All info will be available on thread" complete wild fire index" in this forum. Tools, recovery, how to, rom, and every thing else are available in that thread.

No expert but looks like you have an empty sdcard and system.I think you need to get a rom onto your sdcard (cm7 good choice) and then through recovery apply the rom. Zip and reboot after. DONT DO A WIPE.the telestra screen is just a splash screen which will always load before the system searches for data to load, next would be boot loading screen but yours by the looks and sounds of things does not achieve!! Probably cos its not present due to not having a rom installed.hope I helped if not best of luck. Members are very helpful here and cos you can access hboot I am 99% sure this will be fixed for you. i have a rom on my sd card but the thing keeps saying FAILED? NO SUCH FILE FOUND ?
Download this: http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...5.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed.exe
Enter HBOOT.
Wait until it finishes trying to load a zip file.
Choose FASTBOOT to enter FASTBOOT USB mode.
Run the downloaded file.
It should then install the original HTC rom.
Or maybe try PC49IMG method if you haven't already?
On your PC click start and type in the search box %temp%,
Keep your eye on this folder and doubleclick your ruu, a new folder should appear in temp folder,
Open it and search for rom.zip,
Copy it to your desktop and rename it to PC49IMG.zip then copy to your SD card and boot into hboot, it should find the zip and install.

@scratches post. I couldn't remember the method but that's exactly how I got my ruu to install so I could revolutionize.

[Q] HTC Panache stuck on splash screen

Well firstly; I dont have a lot of experience in issues with my phone, though I do with other devices (like PSPs.) Unrooted, unmodified HTC Panache. It froze after installing an app from the Android Market. I removed the battery since nothing was working, after about 5 minutes. It started properly; I turned the display off. When I checked my phone later, it was stuck on the HTC splash screen. I replaced the battery and tried a soft reset; it's still stuck at the white HTC screen. The recovery menu works; but factory reset doesn't work; it just hangs indefinately (I've left it for about 15 minutes and nothing happened.)
I don't have anything like Clockworkmod or a backup; I haven't done much to my phone since I got it quite recently.
I've tried formatting my SD card to fat32 (if that does anything), backing up the data first, then moving it back. Didn't help.
Is there any way to do a factory reset without using ADB or such? I've done some research, but I couldn't find a solution.
Thanks in advance.
You could ADB push the stock froyo 2.2.1 PD15IMG.zip to /mnt/sdcard. Here is a guide to push it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=642437
Or you could do the gingerbread ROM, whichever you wish! The downloads are in the dev section.
edit: here's the gb: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1384438 and I don't have froyo yet. Just google

he has an HTC Panache... which is the Canadian version of the Glacier. YOU CAN'T FLASH 2.2.1 STOCK MT4G FILE ON IT! YOU WILL GET SCREWED.

But of course you can. Did you read Panache rooting guide? It clearly states to flash MT4G 2.2.1 image. I know, because I suggested it.
But you can't flash it just like that, you'll need a goldcard and stuff. So it's irrelevant to the case.
To the OP:
You can do factory reset from bootloader. Boot into bootloader (VolDown pressed when powering on), select the option with volume buttons, press power to confirm. If I remember correctly, you don't need anything for that.
But your problem might be lying deeper.
Search the forum for "Panache RUU", download the huge .exe file, connect your phone to the computer and run.
If it works - you'll be back to stock Panache.
If it won't - your phone is dead.
You can read the troubleshooting guide for MT4G, link in Wiki in my signature, section "Troubleshooting". It'll explain the most probable reason for the failure.
Hello,
If I understand correctly your Panache is unrooted and stock?
And you got it recently?
You can try other suggestions but you could probably take it back to your store to exchange it too.
Which apps did you try to install?

Wow, thanks for the help guys!
I'll be sure to try your suggestions.
Yes, my phone is stock, I haven't made any modifications.
I've tried factory reset from the bootloader; but it hangs at the bootloader screen.
Does anything that works for the MT4G also apply to the Panache? Since they're the same model.
Anyways, I'll try the RUU. Again thanks for the help; I'll post the result.
Troubleshooting guide is the same for both.
Alright, I've downloaded the RUU for Gingerbread. I entered fastboot from the recovery menu (i'm guessing that doesn't work?) and ran the RUU. It detected the phone successfully, but once I start the update it sticks on "Rebooting to bootloader." It's stayed here for 20 minutes and the display hasn't changed on the phone, nor do the volume buttons work to navigate through the menu. So I guess the RUU won't work.. or will it? I don't know what the issue really is.
Sorry for reviving an old thread but i am having the same problem with the phone of a friend. I get the HTC white screen and then nothing. I can boot in Bootloader but anything else then reboot or power down doesn't work, phone freezes . I am also having trouble connecting the phone to Win7, it can't find the drivers even if i installed SDK, and all the drivers packs that i could find around... I have no idea what she did with it, i am sure she didn't mod it, she has trouble programming the PVR....Any help would be appreciated.
There's a sticky thread at the top of the page, called "[Q&A] If you think your HTC Glacier is bricked, read this".
Well, read it.
