Selling Nexus One - Nexus One General

Good condition, power button doesn't work and I got a MT4G so I really have no use for it, and do not have warranty anymore to pay the 50 bucks to get it fix nor am I really interested in getting it fixed. So.. for anyone who has Warranty still, or just wants to buy it PM me. Not really asking for a price but PM me for B.O.

Cost of a new screen?

Ok How's this for a first post? Some moron managed to knock my 2 week old wizard off the desk while it was charging at work (so not in its case) and has cause a small chip in the screen (screen still works perfectly - just the outter touch panel is damaged). Since no one is owning up to doing it - and my short-sightedness in not taking out insurance on such an expensive phone, I wondered if anyone had any Idea how much T-Mobile would charge to fix this?
I'm assuming it is too late to take out insurance now, so I'm gonna have to shell out for the repair one way or the other - just wondered how much this will set me back.....
Any ideas? Cheers Guys
Oh and no flaming me please - I feel gutted enough as it is!!

Sorry, but it's your only one!
Hi,
Your house hold insurance should cover it. Either that or take out phone insurance and claim in a few months.
Thanks
B
I am not sure about T-Mobile, but o2 let you take insurance out in the first 2 weeks. Look on the web and if you are too late give them a call..... ask them when you will be billed for the insurance as you cant see it on your first bill and you did ask for it when you bought the phone.
Failing that there are may 3rd party companies that will insure phones/pda's/laptops, google for it and give them a call......

I think you have to replace the whole screen anyway?... maybe not. I dunno.

[email protected]! what an unhelpful post! They are available on ebay for around £120, easy to fit, just be careful the part you buy matches the part number of the original screen - some sellers say the magician screen fits, my supplier says it doesn't.

Thanks for all your help guys - I did try calling T-Mobile about insurance saying that I though I'd selected it when I bought it online, but they wouldn't budge on letting me insure it after 2 weeks and sounded pretty sceptical from the start :?
I contacted HTC directly and they're quoting £94 to replace the screen and for shipping both ways which I guess is fairly reasonable - especially after the great suggestion of buying a new one at £200+
Just thought I'd update you incase anyone else is as unfortunate as I was.
Not sure if I'm allowed to post contact details for HTC on here - so anyone needing to contact them, just PM me.
Thanks again for the suggestions

That's actually very reasonable considering your warranty remains intact as well. Cheapest price online is now about £95 for the screen alone! HTC will only deal with t-mob/orange branded items from experence though.

anyone know where I can get replacement parts 4 my MDA in the US. sorri to hijack the post but I figure since u are already on the topic of replacment parts I would give it a shot.
I cracked my touchscreen as well. If I can get the part, I think I can do the replacement myself. Anyone know where to get one?

selling my tytn... cheap

well folks.. i started with the 8125 and moved my way up to the tytn.. however upon entering my new job I've come to realize I would be better off with a blackberry (ive decided on the new 3g capable one)... I was going to sell it on ebay but if anyone on here wants or knows someone who wants one get in touch with me.. I know how much they cost and what they sell for... in all honesty I would rather have someone offer to buy it now at a lower price so I can just get the blackberry quicker...i wil hard reset the phone back to original tytn settings.. only flaws on the phone are some minor scratches (pictures available).. have had a screen protector on it since day 1... PM me to make an offer.... (SORRY IF THIS IS AGAINST FORUM RULES!! xoxo)
Why not save money and use the much better tytn as a blackberry on your corporate BES?

T-Mobile guys, unlock code for hd2

I made the mistake of buying a hd2 off eBay and the guy claimed it was just a cracked screen but I have also found some of the hardware buttons also do not work. Since the phone is locked to T-Mobile and I am useing att I don't have a good way to test that it will make phone calls so I can be sure I want to dump some Money into fixing it. From what I was told if you have a active T-Mobile account you can request free unlock codes and I was wondering if someone would not mind doing this for me. Or if you have a way I could test it with out a T-Mobile similar that would be fine also. The imei number is 357779038858930. Please send a pm or post on here if you can help. I hope this is the right spot to post. Thank you

Well the first thing you should know is it will cost a good bit of money to fix the phone. Your best bet is to return it and say it wasn't as described. Even if he doesn't except returns you still may file a claim with ebay so that he will refund some or all of your money and/or do the return. Just to let you know you can probably find one on ebay used still in working order for around $125-$175 so it would really end up being cheaper to do it that way.
your phone probably cost about $100, then count in $80 for a new LCD screen and digitizer. this brings it to around $180. If the Keypad Buttons are messed up you'll need a replacement, thats another $10. hopefully you wont need to buy a new flex cable and side button membrane which could be another $25. This is if you do it your self but i do know that sometimes ebay sells crack screen replacement service for around $100. This will only fix the screen so if you have a hardware issue its going to cost more. I dont want to talk you out of the phone because it really is a great phone but i would check into all these things first and if you feel its worth it then go ahead. If not atleast you can probably make the guy take the phone back since he messed up on listing it right.
Doing the unlock service: If you still dont have a taker on this pm me and i'll see if i can do it for you. I know that i've done it several times before so my only question for t-mobile woul be is there a limit to how many i can do. i'll try and find that out myself so that if you dont have any takers and there is not a limit that i'll be able to do it for you.
-It costs about 15$ to unlock it online by using IMEI #.
-The only way to unlock it for free is that u have someone using tmobile. He uses this hd2 for 3 months then he can request unlock code from tmobile for free.

that's not true.
He just has to have an account for 3 months, he doesn't actually have to use that specific device for 3 months.

changed out a b60 mb in a b80!

Got tired of waitingfor root on a b80 so i changed the mainboard from a b60 that had a cracked screen into a b80 everything else and everything is working nicely. Anybody need a battery or bezel or rear case or any other parts? I should work for asus repairing these things because even the squeak went away.

I never received any money, only request for bank account number and full name. Who would give that information? i simply wanted to ensure I got paid before shipping to croatia and would accept a certified check or cash, I am not one the idiot 5% but a good guy who has never and will never rip anyone off, bad karma in my view
no pictures, did this for someone else and its gone.
guess you never sent money via bank transfer internationally or sent it via Western Union. If you did, you'll never go hillbilly on me and acusing me for some internet fraud because bank DO ask for full name and bank account number and on Western Union form there is FULL NAME AND ADRESS FIELD!
Please inform yourself in the future, go back to elementary school or something....
Thanx for nothing
Real mature guys. Just sounds like a misunderstanding to me.

HELP with LG Customer Service

Hello everyone,
I have had the LG G2 since Feb. 2014 and the GPS has been AMAZING. It could even find me in my home (and I live in a crowded city), and it was so accurate that the cursor would move a tiny bit if I went from one corner of the house to another.
Outside the lock was almost immediate (less than 10 seconds).
Suddenly (no major updates), the GPS couldn't find me at all in my house and even outside. If it did, it would hold the lock for a while and never ever manage to get a fix on more than 14 satellites out of 21-25 (on high accuracy with 4G assistance).
I sent it back to LG but "They found no issues" and sent it back to me.
The phone is stock. Never been rooted.
It runs Lollipop
It has had 3 factory resets and the problem persists.
[*] I still have warranty until Feb. 2016 so I don't want to open it and try the usual suggestion (video with tape).
Am I crazy to assume the GPS is dying and needs replacement? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated because I don't know how to persuade LG that my GPS is dying!
Easiest thing to do is sell it and get another G2

Even if I sold it, I can't afford to buy a brand new one. Where I live, it sells for 200 euros and a new one is 320 euros. I am a student and got the phone while working part-time, which practically took MONTHS to save up.
If it's still in warranty, shouldn't LG just replace the faulty part already?

they should replace it but have you tried using it in other places other than your house?? i mean when you go to an open space or less buildings have you check to see if it locks?? if it does it works then. maybe not at your home but if it does it outside in another place its all good.
