We don't have a thread yet discussing things that we like/don't like about the update to EC05. I am quite certain that Sprint ID will be a hot topic here, but we don't need to limit it to that.
What do you like and what don't you like? What has been fixed and what has not been fixed?
Personally, I am enjoying the Sprint ID because of some additional ringtones and wallpapers. The launcher works much like the stock Android launcher with the exception of the iD button replacing the browser button. I always activate the internet from an icon in a home screen anyways.
I have also noticed that the GPS seems to be very strong and accurate!!
In call volume seems to be louder (to me) as well.
I would probably enjoy Sprint ID if I could get any apps to show up in the app drawer for me. It's empty forcing me to stick with Touchwiz.
It seems to be much more stable. Gps works great. I've had no 3g data issues. No FCs, minus the xda app. I had to remove one bloatware file to get my adfree hosts file updated due to the /system partition having no memory left. The browser still has checkerboarding, but that's a minor thing for me, and the keyboard still does its thing. Otherwise a really good running stock ROM for me.
I did put launcher pro back on though. I've gotten too used to it.
Hardware keyboard sucks even more than it did before, which is impressive.
There's no longer a separate silent and vibrate ringer setting.
Those two are basically a killer. I guess I'll keep DI18 forever. :\
Orientation is slow as molasses. The terminal emulator yamaha_sensorcalibutil hack doesn't help at all. Will play with for a few days and probably go back to DI18 if i can't find a fix for orientation issue.

It is amazing that they could make the keyboard worse isn't it? As for the silent option, that's been gone since the first froyo beta. Not sure why they got rid of it.. it was a nice feature. :-/

Ok I have only been using it for about 10 minutes but I immediately tested the few things that I knew existed on EB13 for me.
1. Camera sports mode fixed
2. Video recording in low light fixed
3. Compass being screwed up fixed
4. 3g speeds faster for me
5. overall speed seems faster
6. Physical keyboard isn't missing keys for me DISCLAIMER: I am not a speed typer. I have only used the keyboard a few times since owning the Epic. However on EB13, and before, I could produce the letter skips pretty easily. Especially on double leTTers. I tested by typing 100 words as fast as I could and I did not have a single letter miss. But I did have a few spelling errors
Only two problems that I know of which I don't really care that much about
1. Browser checkerboarding
2. Playing audio from flash content over the web to bluetooth headphones stutters badly. Flash audio out of the speakers work fine. Had this problem on EB13 also.
If I run into anything else I will let you know.

My orientation and compass are flawless. I will keep an eye on it though to make sure I don't find a problem because I have only used it for about 20 minutes now.
So far, everything is running very smoothly and appears to be more responsive than my stock DI18. The only issue I have seen thus far is I disabled my Wi-Fi to look at the SprintID packs (you can only view these when using the data connection) and when I went to re-enable the Wi-Fi, I received an error. This corrected itself after I turned off my data (holding the power button and selecting the new data option) and then back on.
EDIT: Tried the BlueTooth, which worked great; However, when I turned it off and went to watch a YouTube video, the sound was only coming through the phones speaker and not the main speaker. It only started working again after a reboot. I believe I saw this in a thread a while back. Anyone else experiencing this yet?

Everything but the TWS bug has been fixed. Browser still checkerboards but not as bad.
3G and Gps have been vastly improved as well.
Overall its a very good update. Even Sprint ID is a pleasant surprise.

Sprint Id is a pleasant surprise to me too. I like the ESPN id with its wallpaper, ringtones and icons.
For those using sprint id, do you notice any performance or battery problems from using it? That is the main reason I am avoiding it. Wanted to wait until more data came in to see what peoples opinions were. If people could throw up some screen shots showing some differences that would be nice.

Nice Job
the orientation is amazing
seems as snappy as a custom ROM for me
but i did remove all sprints crap.
Any-who im waiting on a RC cm7 to be my daily ROM
until the nexus s 4g is released then i may jump on-that since its pure Google.
or its ported to the epic.
but overall Sammy did pretty good this time around.

Actually, its still there. You just have to change it in the settings every time you want to change from vibrate to silent.

Seems generally good. No lag, most of the bugs fixed, only the TWS bug remains (which seems to be in the AOSP Android code, not created by Samsung). It's too early to tell but it seems that battery life may be average at best. I've been on Stock EB13 with Genocide 0.4a kernel (which is an OC/UV kernel) and I got used to 24+ hours battery life, I don't think I'll see that with full stock EC05.
The battery life has gotten significantly worst with EC05. The drain when the screen is off is significantly more. There is a lot of lag, even with calibrating upside down, with the screen orientation. I have the same set up as I did with stock EB and the camera fix and the battery life was a lot better. I may go back to that.
The good for me:
1- 3g speeds the best yet, had 1.3Mb down and 700k up while driving.
2- Everything seems much smoother and faster. I wiped my stock sd card before flashing ec05 and my sd tools results are better.
3- GPS and orientation speeds are flawless. (removed Sprint bloat)
4- Modem in general seems fixed. My wifi doesn't drop out every 10 minutes like it did on eb13, and I can stream radio on tunein radio again without it buffering every minute or so.
5- Sprint ID. It's more options and stuff for us to choose from. Some may hate that, but at least it's actually useful bloat from Sprint that I didn't remove.
Still haven't found an issue after several hours of use.

I would give it a little time to judge the battery life on the update. I am pretty sure your usage has changed a bit due to the update brining something new and all the re-setup you probably had to do. In regards to lag - I have zero issues with that, it seems nice and fast to me - install spare parts from market and put animations to fast to get it even smoother. My GPS locked instantly inside my house which never happened before on any ROM (stock or custom). Screen rotation speed can be fixed by doing the yamaha calibration trick (need to root for that though) - I had to do this with every ROM including EB13 Samsung flash. I understand that to each his own, but I am definitely liking this update. They did a good job and now that I resolved my exchange server issue, I am really liking it. Good job Sprint/Sammy!
I still have the BT issue as the EB13,I have a Jabra A2DP headset,it doesn't see my headset after i turn it on,I had to turn off & on bt on the phone again for it to see my bt headset,I had this exact problem on EB13 but not DI18,sometimes no matter what i did,it just not seeing my bt headset anymore, had to delete and re-pair it again, very frustrating, beside this,i have no issues w/EC05.

System Process Suspend. I noticed it runs at a constant 30% until i restart my phone. Anyone else having this problem or even know what event triggers this?
Flash is nice and all, but its not enough to compensate for all the crap froyo is dishing out.
so far my issues with this are wifi not connecting, any audio out ( mp3 or stream ) sounds like utter crap, and now this battery drain.

I am not having any of these issues at all, my wifi connects, my battery doesn't drain like crazy, and my Pandora sounds like I am in a concert hall!!
Were you rooted before the update? Have you tried factory reset?
nope i was never rooted. i dunno, i search around the interwebs and it seems the things i am mentioning are common occurances to froyo.
however, none of these have an answer of why it happens in the first place, besides the streaming audio part.
its funny how for the past month or so that people have reported these problems to google, they do not even give it the customary "taking it seriously" line.
so has no one noticed their locally stored music sounds flat also?? this is the one part that intrigues me since that was how i first noticed the music quality suffered.
my music sounds fine with froyo :\ however i am on a custom rom not stock froyo. Also have no wifi problems and battery so far is on par with 2.1 (was hoping for a big increase in life but oh well least it doesnt seem worse to me)

Looks like for me the initial battery drain was because Market was syncing the apps. Go to Market, menu, downloads - do you see all your apps, or just paid apps? If you only see paid apps there may be some kind of sync going on between the actual installed apps and the market service. I had a lot of apps, so it took almost a day for all apps to show up. Once they did, the battery was about the same as with 2.1.
Also Market was slow throughout the "syncing period" as well.
Pandora does have two settings now, high or regular quality. After I updated to 2.2 and used it for the first time, it sounded like crap. Checked settings and it was set to the lower quality output to conserve data/power etc. I switched to the high quality and it's been back to normal.
hahaha what version are you running 2.1 2.2 cause for me i get better sound with low quality over the headphone jack then i did with high quality.
for the op i noticed a big increase in battery life with froyo maybe do a factory reset or start removing certain apps maybe remove your task killer
this sucks man
maybe this is the cause
http://www.droid-life.com/2010/08/05/new-facebook-update-is-draining-batteries/
i do not think it is the facebook app, i dont use facebook.
the main source of my battery woes is that suspend process, i saw a few posts about it, but it seems like either there is no solution or it just happens to us unlucky few so no one cares.
just out of curiosity, if you were to use systempanel and look at the percentage of that process, what are your values? my phone was on for like 6-7 hrs and i got like 2hrs of cpu time on this process.
the wifi thing is very well reported in about every forum out there and the single point failure has been the update to froyo.
the audio issue is still a mystery to me because everyone else has issues when it comes to streaming, however i also get it with local mp3's.
i am starting to extremely dislike the qc of googles product. it does not seem to be a sense integration issue, so the fault lies in froyo it seems.
Pandora / Streaming Audio fix
tinyurl.com/33cmqbt
that is only for rooted phones
We don't have this issue in CyanogenMod...
that may be the case.
correct me if I am wrong but that is not possibilityfor people who did not root beforehand
I for one have noticed a slight decline in battery performance with froyo. What I've noticed is that I have a lot of apps opening in the background that somehow are not getting closed by autostarts or autokiller. I may have just not targetted every instance where they're triggered to open in the background but this was not happening in 2.1.
Facebook 1.3 definitely caused a huge battery decline for me. After I turned off notifications in the facebook settings the battery went back to normal. It's causing partial wake time, which is killing the battery. According to the android app facebook page they are working on fixing it.
i thought i read somewhere that froyo is not working with task killers and stuff like that? correct me if i am wrong
ok so another observation based on a suggestion from another forum.
when i look at the systempanel app for my cpu usage. i will never drop below 500.
some have stated that they use setcpu for force it under and it will not.
this still has nothing to do with my crazy suspend process chugging along, but it doesnt help my battery life any either

i feel that does fall under quality control of a release, but you are possibly right, they just half assed the port.
JK6 is what I have been looking for. Everything works in this build so far, the quadrant scores are not up to snuff yet, but the rom is snappy as hell. Still getting 60+ fps in Quake3. The issue about the call output not working when you call someone when connected to a headphone or tape adapter with no inline mic is gone. Like I said, when custom roms are built off this base, it will only get better. But if you were waiting for a great Froyo Rom, this is it.
Sorry wrong forum...
Like to to this as well. The battery life and signal strength on jk6 is excellent with out any tweaks. So far so good i feel with a few apk changes here and the there i could use this and wont feel like im missing anything as far as a smartphones goes. that being said i cant wait for tw, eugene or cm6 because this is a hobby
seems strange that when any of the developer starting to mess with the kernel, the battery life goes down. It happened with Cyanogen and it happened to Eugene as well. Anyone got any idea
Additionally, finally have true playlist support in the music player!
One downside is that the Option to enable/disable screen staying awake when connected to power is gone. It is permanently enabled.

Yes, battery was at 60% at 11pm last night!!! 60%!! Signal issues are also gone, GPS is working great, and I am actually getting a usable edge connection now (120kbps / 80kbps) when in areas of suck. Radio update has been incredible.

I wasn't clear on that, when it is plugged in to the computer is stays on as it detects a USB connection. It's possible this only happens when usb debugging is enabled.
Plugged in to an AC adapter though display goes to sleep.
This ROM from the start seems MUCH more "snappier" than the JK2 Eugene put out.
But, I'm still on the fence regarding Battery Life on JK6 vs JK2.
I am testing, but I noticed From a full charge then unplugged overnight (7hours) with only Gmail+Contacts Synching, I went from 100-89% using JK6. When I was using JK2 I went from 100-98% overnight.
Some of the cause could have been from some of the additional bloatware I found running in "Services" on JK6 for me, under Application in Settings, like Slacker Radio, so I will compare again tonight.
On another note, I've also been comparing using Power Tutor, which isn't for Galaxy S phones at the moment, but it does give a lot more detail than the stock Battery Usage app. I found that with the screen off on JK6, there is only a 3-7mw drain. On JK2, that was more like 25mw.
With the screen on lowest brightness, (auto-brightness off). I saw around 400-425mw on both. It's interesting to note that the light sensor draws about 100mw, according to Power Tutor...
Again, all this is up for discussion, especially since Power Tutor is not optimized for the Galaxy S...

There are still issues with Wifi Calling - I don't know about the battery drain piece, which a lot of people complain about, but The ringer still only rings on the earpiece, and not the main speaker , where a normal call would ring from. This makes it easy to miss a call, unless you're using vibrate.
Has anyone tested if the battery drain is better on JK6 with WiFi Calling?
I've made about 90 minutes of wi-fi calls today and a moderate amount of use of the phone display doing some other non-CPU intensive things.
59% after 6 hours of use.
Wi-Fi calling, other than the problem with the ringing, is working pretty good for me.
Battery use is a little bit better than stock JI6. It's not mind-boggling better, bit it is better.
My screen does not stay on while charging. I wish I had an option to do so. When I'm driving around So Cal I like to keep Google Maps up with my current location so I can monitor traffic problems, and there's no way to keep it constantly up on the display, or at least I haven't figured out how to do it yet. If anyone knows, let me know. I wish we still had the option to stay awake while on a charger.
There have been some posts by people which suggest this may be the final ROM. I'm pretty sure it's not. It's got some bugs here and there which I wouldn't expect to see on a final build, even from Samsung/T-Mobile. Nothing earth shattering, but enough to keep this from being the final release. That having been said, if you're currently running stock JI6, I see no reason why you shouldn't migrate to JK6. It's a definite improvement.

Interesting, I guess I'm just an exception
I love this rom, however, there are two things bugging me:
1) There is a slight lag in the app drawer when swiping left and right.
2) In Contacts, when you click on a name to call someone, there used to be the option to Call/Message someone. Now when you click on a contact, their contact card comes up with a big 'Message' button. While nothing horrible, it can be annoying.
"My screen does not stay on while charging. I wish I had an option to do so. Have you used Screebl before? I can't live without it.
My screen goes off too. It's dang annoying because I like to keep it on while I'm sitting at my desk using my pc.
If we can figure out why it still stays on for some people, maybe we could hack it into our phones? Is it a setting stored in a property file or a database somewhere?

Testing out what was discussed in the Town Hall Meeting.
A couple review guidelines:
Make sure to mention in your review if you are running the ROM with any mods or lagfixes.
"This ROM rulez" or "this ROM suckz" is not a good review. Please explain specifically what it is that you like about this ROM and what it is that you don't like.
Screenshots are always appreciated.
Everyone has different needs for a ROM and people's needs are unique to how they use their phone. What is a dealbreaker for one person may not be for another person. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and flaming them for it is NOT OK.
Not liking a ROM is not grounds for personal remarks against the devs.
I ran this ROM for about 14 hours before restoring to JI6. It was nice and fast. Everything seemed to be working correctly. Still did not have stock android keyboard by default so I had to add that in, of course the haptic feedback on that did not work.
Tried some MMS tests and they seemed to come in blurry. I don't think this is so much ROM issue but more so an issue where T-Mobile MMS servers do not recognize the build so they send the pic to me in a lower res in order to make sure I get it. Once the ROM build can be recognized by the MMS servers the pics should come in with the correct resolution.
GPS, Wifi, and 3G all worked great. GPS I first ran Samsung GPS Restore and then tested with several GPS apps. Got 12/12 satellites in under 5 seconds. Accuracy was down to 10 feet.
All in all a good stock ROM, did not see any of the Rescue apps that showed up in previous leaks, I would not be surprised if this ended up being released as official.
I had T959UVJK6 - Stock and took the JL4 stock and Odin and its running now. i found the Market is updated. I did not check Maps or GPS yet and no wipe or anything of that sort just clean and simple.
You dont need any of the 2.2 leaks for the new market. I'm still running stock and it eventually popped up on my vibrant.
All of my previous roms had been taking an inordinate amount of battery during phonecalls. I chalked it up to the antenna signal being weak and having to work extra to get signal.
So i began comparing with other android handsets and try enough their signal strength (dBm) would always be better than mine.
Now, with this rom, the signal strength is beyond fantastic. At least in terms of the number. It hardly goes above 84 dBm while in previous roms. A 86 dBm would be the best i ever got, and even that would be for limited periods of time. It would hover around much larget values which are bad.
Other than that, the ROM has much to much bloat which is eating up CPU cycles. But it has the 3E recovery so i cant boot it. And i cant figure out how to do the fix (even though i do know that there is a a thread for that)
So i am waiting for an odin rom which is rooted and Deodexed and hopefully bloatware free. Otherwise it is a brilliant rom. (oh, btw, no stock andorid keyboard as well.)
hey guys, dont know if this works for everyone, but i flashed from stok ji6 to jl4 using odin and everything was fine except the error msg i got for mms "error in server response". a tmo rep actualy helped me and he fixed it. if your problem is the same, go to the camera, slide the menu from the side, hit settings, go to resolution, change it to 3.2mp, take a pic and send. it should work and then you can change it back to 5mp. thought id share since thats the only problem i had so it seems great now
JL4 has been working great for me. It finally pushed me over the JI6 hump. I used Titanium to freeze most of the bloatware. The writing to internal/external SD is fixed. With the previous fix, I could write to one or the other but not both. My "own number" shows up which in my case was needed for my Verizon FiOS Remote DVR app to work.
Regarding the blurry MMS issues, I've never had it. But then again, I strictly use Handcent.
Battery life, I don't know about yet since I haven't run a specific build for more than 24 hours. Been going flash crazy trying everything out.
Oh wait... I did notice one minor issue that hasn't happened every single time. Sometimes after unplugging the micro USB cable, status bar still shows connected.

Yea, I was in the market, made a mistake and closed it. Opened it again and the new one was there.
It force closes way too much for me. At least 10 times a day the damn thing force closes on me (I'm desperately trying to find useful apps for my phone, so I'm in it a lot lately).
Stock JL4
Running it since it became available. I love it, not very different from stock JK6.
Pros:
No force closes yet.
No noticable problems
Flash working fine
Quadrant cpu score slight boost form JI6
Wifi calling
Better battery life than JI6, and same as Jk6.
I have always liked Touchwiz
Cons:
-When running touchwiz, widgets still cause a slight lag when scrolling through the 7 homescreens. This is just touchwiz, and has always been like that.
-The new JL4 modem in my opinion doesn't offer a strong 3G signal like JK6 did.
-I can't turn off geotagging in camera mode

That's something I just noticed. Signal bar wise, seems to flucuate like the original JFD in 2.1 and doesn't stay as full bars as much. But, speed wise, it seems okay. I don't really care what the bars say anymore as long as I can hold a 3g connection.
-- Edit --
Just flashed JK6 modem and it does seem to be more consistent then JL4 for me. Also applied Voodoo Lag fix to it and it's screaming fast to my eyes now.
I'm really impressed with this rom. Very snappy out of the box, signal strength is amazingly improved for me! Very noticeable improvement.
Update: GPS is much improved...saw 14 birds and locked on 12 in 7 seconds. This is a huge jump from any previous rom I've used.

Performance was good on its own (no lagfix). There was very minor lag when an app installed in the background, loading the app drawer sometimes, and the new Market (which was a more noticeable lag). Still, it was nothing compared to stock Eclair. There was also no real wakeup lag to speak of. Pretty snappy for a stock build. I just Voodoo-ed it up anyway because it makes it that much more smooth and fast. With Voodoo, apps load faster, including the new Market.
Modem is working out well so far. According to my signal widget, I'm getting H speeds in my home, though I don't think this build has an H indicator in the Notification Bar.
GPS locked on quickly with no problems. My problem was never locking. I was always losing the lock and never regaining it during navigation so I will update after I use it for an actual trip.
Update: GPS stayed locked during the whole trip. I am impressed. I should also note that I ran Samsung's GPSRestore app before using the phone for Navigation and that this is the updated version of Maps.
Since this is a stock build, it came with all the T-Mo bloatware, which I uninstalled with Ti Backup. If you like WiFi calling, this would be a good choice for you. Note of warning: if you uninstall WiFi calling with Ti Backup, it will keep FCing so you will have to force reboot by holding down the power button for 10 seconds. It's fine after that.
My battery life has been bad since a couple of builds ago so I can't really accurately comment on how it is. I can edit after a recalibration.
Overall: stable, fairly fast and with no glaring problems to speak of. If you like stock, grab this ROM.
I just noticed I'm not getting voicemail notifications. Anyone else notice?

Did you set up Visual Voicemail?
No I didn't as I don't use visual voicemail. Br1cK'd suggested the following which I totally forgot about since I've seen this before.
"Did you set your voicemail carrier to your service provider? This is set under settings, call settings, voicemail. I noticed in the newest ginger clone which is jl4based that google voice is a voicemail option in that menu, I haven't noticed that in any other previous roms/frameworks, and wonder if that may affect your notifications."
Unfortunately, I already went back to JI6 and once again flashing back to JL4 to try it out.

I had never noticed that option that exists in stock JL4 as well. Thanks for that.
I get "This bookmark cannot be deleted" when trying to remove any of the stock web bookmarks.
Is there anyway to remove these?

use skyfire. it's just like a stock browser.
A lot of us have had the device for at least week now so it would be a good time to post impressions after a bit more hands on time. I’ll start...
10 days in I’m still glad I got it but there are plenty of things that could be improved. I’ve been on HTC phones (Desire, Desire Z) before this running at different times standard HTC Sense ROMs as well as various versions of Cyanogen Mod and AOSP based ROMs. My views after 2 weeks of use:
* Loving the fact that Samsung appears to be treating this almost like a developer phone (ala Nexus) in terms of open bootloader, availability of source code etc. I’ve said my goodbyes to HTC precisely because of this.
* Based on the frequency of updates Samsung also appears to be focused on addressing issues. They are one if the first out of the gates for Gingerbread updates to their existing devices so I’m hoping they continue to focus on delivering on the latest versions of Android.
* Touchwiz is not as invasive as HTC’s Sense. It improves on stock android in many ways. My first Samsung phone so I can’t really speak of improvements over previous versions of Samsung ROMs but so far I don’t hate TouchWiz but I do find that they seem to take a lot of inspiration from Apple even when the standard Android implementation is better in some cases (I didn’t hate HTC Sense either but I did find it too far from stock for my liking). Having said that there are some totally brain dead decisions that Samsung appear to have taken which I just don’t get:
1) Default home screen on the left instead of the middle. Why copy Apple on this one when Android’s default makes so much more sense. I love having frequently used apps with a swipe to the right and an agenda widget on the left so I can get to both with a single swipe. Now I have to pick one.
2) Fixed icons at the bottom. I understand Phone and Apps being fixed but not messaging and contacts. I’d like to change those - hell, even Apple lets you change those. *** NEVERMIND *** See posts below. It CAN be edited.
3) Lock screen - talk about making something worse - this one takes the cake. Thank god for widget locker.
4) Dialer logs - I don’t want my SMS messages to show up on my phone dialer logs. There is no option to just view all calls without the rest of the stuff cluttering it up. (Yes I know I can switch to Dialer One but apart from this one major issue I actually like the default Samsung dialer).
* Wireless - Everything wireless about this phone has issues. May be a function of how thin it is but my experience so far:
1) Phone - Much improved after the latest firmware updates but data connection can take a while to latch on when moving out of WiFi coverage and sometimes just drops out for 5-10 minutes at a time for no apparent reason (even when the phone shows five bars in a strong signal area).
2) Bluetooth - The headset I have is not working well at all. Quality seems fine but every few seconds drops out or gets noisy for a second or so. The same headset works perfectly well with the HTC devices as well as with an iPhone.
3) GPS - Sometimes flawless but lock time is definitely a lot slower than the HTC devices. It also has a tendancy to lose lock a lot easier than the HTC devices. Other times it jumps around all over the place before getting a lock. Lots of weird behaviour here.
4) WiFi - Where other phones get weak coverage this one gets none. If you have strong WiFi signals everywhere you use the device this is not an issue. 5 Ghz also performs significantly worse than 2 Ghz.
* Battery life - It appears this phone has only 2 gears. A low gear for phone / SMS / push mail / browsing where battery life is excellent but then kicks into hyper-turbo mode if you use Flash video, games or anything taxing where it burns through battery life in no time. You can easily get through a whole day with power to spare if you stick to only the basic activities but best to use everything else while plugged in.
The reality is even with all these issues, I couldn’t give this device up. The power and speed coupled with the slim form factor and gorgeous screen are just too damn impressive and all the problems pale in significance. I might have had buyers remorse if the HTC Sensation was coming with an open bootloader and a slimmer profile but at the moment I don’t see anything that compares. I’m just hoping Samsung can fix some of the problems I’ve listed in software.
Regarding fixed items at the bottom: you can edit them from within the applications screen.

You can change those - Go to app drawer-> menu -> edit -> and drop the app you wants.

Nice honest and informative post. Most of the issues will hopefully be fixable once we start getting some custom ROMs I'm hoping. Or hopefully fixes direct from Samsung in regards to GPS, WiFi, and 3G. I guess time will tell.

Very puzzling that Sammy would have issues in key connectivity areas on such a high profile phone. Wonder if they''re all antenna related? As you say, hopefully not, and it's all solvable with SW.
Homescreen order
C'mon guys - it's not that hard to reorder your homescreens...
Just pinch zoom (helicopter mode) longpress & drag.....
Hope this helps you...

The issue isn't re-ordering. It's changing the default home screen from the left (on TouchWiz) to the middle (As on stock Android / Sense etc)

After my first day with this phone I switched to the the ADW Launcher, Samsung really didn't think the TouchWiz launcher through - not only the default homescreen being on the left, but also the fact that Apps in the drawer aren't sorted alphabetically.
I used to own the Samsung Galaxy Vibrant. It's disturbing that Samsung is still not getting the GPS working right!

I'm on the latest firmware but it's still pretty buggy...
I've tried switching to launcher pro but I still get crash reboots and loss of sound.
Last night I entered the pin and the phone just reboots.
I also loose the clicks on the pin screen. When this happens you have to reboot go get audio back...I tried playing an mp4 video with no sound when it was in this state and it just said unable to play. Of course it worked fine after a reboot...
So pretty buggy at the moment
mine has no bugs or what so ever, after 2 weeks of used i can never compare it to other phones performance either android or iOS,i used both before but this one is simply way above them..
no built in stock music widget was a dissapointment for me as well as the horrible lock screen style and the lag during wakeup..apart from that this phone is really amazing..but touchwiz needs some serious thought...

Agreed that this phone is as speedy and steady as the HTC Desire and iPhone 4 that I have owned. The trick to all these phones is that if you play around too much with settings, tweaks, launchers you are likely to get problems.
Well im having all the problems below :
1. Assistive light not working
2. Lagging in "click sound" when locking the
device.
3. Cant load sd card most of the time
My question is, wtf? And its annoying. Id rather go back to gingerbread anytime.

ICS in Note
After upgrading to ICS via kies,
Battery seems to drain very fast.
Camera hangs up sometimes and other camera related apps like Instagram also but maybe the pic quality is little better.
It seems to crash when some other apps runs too.
Not sure if it was there before but I can pause music and video if I show my palm on the screen.
The screen rotates faster than in GB with a pause at the beginning though.
News fonts are good.
Window animations are good but still dont' know how to stop it since it might be draining battery fast.
Can use Chrome now and it's fast.
I cannot use Mass Storage Mode. I recieve a "Ui stopped to work" error.
I am facing,
1. High android OS usage. Sometime its higher than Brightness, and most of the time its highest usage of batt after brightness. (I read somewhere, it said its calculation errors, but I think its not, cause my battery no longer last that long.)
2. Camera will sometimes fail to operate. I really dunno what is wrong with that.
3. Phone just cant go into deep slp. Its being kept awake by some apps (Which I cant narrow it) Using BetterBatteryStats, I found out its I2_HSIC. (Whats this I2_HSIC ??)
I am using a 5400mAh mugen batt. previously on GB, my usage can last me 24hrs, now it can only last 16hrs or less. I installed lesser apps, and lesser widgets. Disable account sync and google backup. Settings more or less kept the same.
Overnight my batt can reduce by 21%, it never happened before. lol. ICS...

I have a bug I have not seen mentioned.
Occasionally, usually about 1 time per day, My phone display will start to flash, with random green and red colors. The screen I'm on, will flash those colors then star to shake and slide.
It looks like a television station not tuned quite right on an analog antenna (if anybody remembers that!)
I can't reproduce it regularly, but It think it has happened when going from an Application, back to the home screen using the home button.
I am on ICS, Taiwan, stock, not rooted.
Anybyody else seen this?

I faced this issue with stock ICS (rooted) .
I opened the browser to html5test.com , and the screen filled up with lines (similar to a TV noise) . Turning off did not seem to work, so i did a battery pull.
Unable to reproduce the problem so far!

I can get the screen back by just waiting it out. Usually takes about 2 minutes. I sure do wish I knew what was happening, though, so I could confirm no damage was being done.

As far as #2 goes, go to your battery stats and see if "media" is listed. If so, force close it and try again. Seems to work for me. I'm not sure if it is just me or not because I have been playing with settings lately, but the media scanner tends to run wild it seems (also seems to lend to battery drain).
I am just disappointed that they left out some of the nice features of ics like the updated gallery and camera. Seems kind of lazy to me and no wonder things arent working well if they are mix and matching gingerbread and ics rather than going all in and starting development from there. I would definitely go back to using one of the non tw ics roms if it weren't for the sod issues I was having...

- Battery life seems to be strange as sometime drain is too high and sometime i feel it's better then it was on GB. yet to track the exact pattern but in either case no wireless, no gps, no Bluetooth and Brightness @ 10%.

I also got that green bands screen you describe. I held down the lock button til the phone rebooted. I think I was using the Dolphin Browser at the time.

1. Poor battery.
2. Sync errors: calendar sync freezes up every once in a while
3. Brightness slider in notification bar gone, tasker can not effect change of brightness anymore, only choice is to keep automatic brightness on, otherwise blinded out in sun.
4. Contacts and phone apps show up in 5s or more to load: need to switch to those ugly dialers, no choice at all
5. No widgets menu in app drawer as in nexus ICS
